Physical Therapy Salary – The Best in the Field of Medicine

An accident, injury, surgery and even age, can cause depletion of strength in a human being. At this stage, you need the active help from a well-trained physical therapist to assist you in doing the various exercises and movements, necessary to put you back on a healthy track. A physical therapist will work inclusively with the patients and assist them in all their routines with concern, patience and dedication.

An aspiring physical therapist must have inbuilt emotions of compassion and helpfulness to make a success of this career. However, he or she would also expect to earn a good salary for this difficult and tireless job, as they would have already spent a fortune in going school and college and in further specialization in the subject. Most people would venture into this line only if they know the monitory prospects that lay in wait for them. Estimates of physical therapy salary are looking bright, and those who want to pursue this career, have taken the right decision.

Due to the sharp increase in patients who require therapy, the demand for physical therapist jobs is rapidly on the rise. Statistics of 2011-2012 indicate that physical therapists are normally within a salary range of $53,000 to $107,000 per annum at the top and lower levels. With the business of health care poised for rapid growth; can physical therapists be far behind? In general, the ailment percentages are also growing quickly, leading to a surge in the hurried requirement of therapists in the four corners of the world.

The demand always drives the market wages in any field, and the situation for therapist jobs is following the rising market trend. However, please note that most American companies today, insist on postgraduates in physical therapy and therefore, you would do well to qualify yourself in the subject and to take away jobs from your peers in the field. Largely, the job location and the eminent reputation of the organization that proposes to employ you will decide the size of your pay packet. A physical therapist can easily find a job with a private clinic or in outpatient centers or in small or large hospitals. For example, figures in 2008 indicate that physical therapists in the health and nursing care facilities drew salaries of around $76,000 per annum while those in general hospitals and attached to privately practicing doctors drew around $72,000 per annum.

When you think of a future as a physical therapist, you must target both your preferred location and the salary you are looking for. The bonuses in this occupation are the relationships you build with your patients, and flexible working hours you can obtain by a direct adjustment with the patients. However, if you want to advance in this line, you have to continue your education, which many institutions make obligatory when they employ you.

Physical Therapists- We Lack Marketing & Business Know How

How Is Marketing A Physical Therapy Practice Different from any

other business?

In many respects, marketing a Physical Therapy practice is not

that much different from marketing other small businesses.

Basic business and marketing principles that apply in other

successful businesses- including marketing, budgeting, branding,

marketing strategies, public relations opportunities, tracking

systems, instilling the sense of ownership in all employees,

productivity measures – also apply in the Physical Therapy

Marketplace.

However, there are several ways – some subtle and some obvious –

that marketing a Physical Therapy practice is

different than marketing for other small businesses.

1. Most Physical Therapists typically have little (if any) business

training, education or marketing experience prior to owning their

first practice.

In fact, PT’s – prefer to view their practice as a calling, a

profession geared to helping others, anything but a business that

is out to make a profit. The motivations that draw people to a

career in Physical Therapy are different from the interests that

draw others toward a career in business.

This paradigm often creates the unfortunate but predictable irony

that results in a business owner who is ill prepared, ill equipped

and often unaware of the basic requirements needed to establish

financial & business success.

Because We never learned about business aspects of owning our own

practice. Or about marketing principles, strategies and other

tactics in our Physical Therapy curriculum. We as Physical

Therapist and business owners are usually at a distinct

disadvantage from the very beginning of our business ownership.

We are forced to struggle through the process of

trial-and-painful-error to compensate for our lack of business

training and knowledge.

It’s hard enough to succeed in business when you know what you are

doing.

It is almost impossible when you don’t even know what you

don’t know.

Get informed today and start using Time tested and Proven Marketing

and Business Prinicples that work for Physical Therapy.

Tips for Starting a Physical Therapy Private Practice

It may have crossed your mind at one point or another that it’s time to branch off and begin your own PT clinic. When first beginning this process, people will tell you that this will cost you thousands and thousands of dollars, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Here are a few money-saving tactics you can implement into your physical therapy practice management and clinical operations from the start.

1. Necessary Equipment

When purchasing equipment, work toward being creatively efficient. Scour the web for PT blogs addressing the matter and price comparisons between companies. Most patients don’t need to see the most high-tech, fancy or most expensive equipment – they just want what works. In fact, is likely that they won’t have access to those machines at home, so training them on equipment they can actually use may be very beneficial. By simply doing your own form of physical therapy practice management research, you’ll be able save a significant amount of money.

2. Clinic Office Size

Right now, you may think it’s important to invest in a large space – mostly because you want your equipment to fit. However, you could cut costs by investing in a smaller office – thus saving even more on smaller machines that will fit nicely. Instead of paying for extra space you aren’t using, fill the space accordingly. Then, if you need to expand once your business takes off, you can do so!

3. Beginner’s Marketing

When you’re just starting out, keep in mind that you just need the necessities: a business card and a letterhead. There’s no magic spell you can use to conjure up new patients. What you can do is utilize your time wisely. Go out in the community and get to know people and tell them what you’re all about. If you are even more technology driven, consider beginning your own website consisting of PT blogs that interested patients, personal trainers or physicians can visit for more information about who you are and what you plan to offer.

4. Physical Therapy Practice Management

There are methods you can utilize to get your business running in a more affordable way. One way, is choosing your billing option. You can outsource your billing to a medical billing company who will take somewhere between 5 and 12 percent. However, in the long run this may actually save you money, as you won’t have to purchase expensive software or hire and train a new employee. If you’d rather invest in more tech-savvy software, try using Square. This piece of technology is quickly making its way into businesses everywhere. It costs about 2.75 percent.

When it comes to starting your own clinic, try these tips for saving as much as possible, and as you continue to grow and expand, you’ll be able to make additions to your office, practice management and staff.

Physical Therapist Resume – How to Write a Good Resume For Your Physical Therapist Job Application

If you are the type of person that can find self-satisfaction for helping people than becoming a physical therapist just might be the job for you, not to mention that you can earn handsomely for it too. Obviously before you can do so you will need to get a job and for you to land one you will need a resume that is not only appealing but can portray you as the person that you say you are. So besides listing down all your educational background your resume should also be able to list your characteristics as well.

As such you have to be very careful when you write your resume, the reason for this is because this is the first ever interaction you will have between your future employer. So the resume must be able to stand out from the crowd and one that the employer will be able to remember from the stack of applications that they receive. This is of course not the only step as you will need to go for interviews and so on but nonetheless this is the most important step of all.

When writing your resume you should not just list down all your past achievements and educational background and be done with it. Today the problem is that anyone can get a degree but whether or not they have the necessary skills to back up the certificate is an entirely separate question. So make sure that you include other important information about yourself that will attract the employers.

Don’t write a sloppy bio data about yourself, instead take the time and effort to compile all the necessary information and write a proper resume. Even through the simple task as that, your potential employers will have a glimpse of your passion about the job. Having said that you are not writing a biography so make it concise where they employers can get a sense of who you are.

Employers don’t want a robot that can only heal patients they want people that can help other people too. This means that your soft skills should be as good as your medical knowledge, so make sure that you not only graduate at the top of your class but when it comes to dealing with people you have the patience for it even though there is no certificate for that.

Working in such as high risk environment the extra knowledge of CPR or first aid would certainly be an added advantage on your part. Include such information on your resume so you can land that dream job.

Online Physical Therapist Assistant Programs

If you are interested in learning how to become a physical therapist assistant, the first thing that you have to do is to find a school that is offering such course. However, do you know that you can also get physical therapist assistant programs online? Currently, there are several schools offering distance learning programs for those who want to join the field. That means you will be getting the best options you need for your training.

So what do these schools offer? These schools are offering an associate degree program for assistants to physical therapists. However, you will be required to complete general education courses before you qualify for the program and proceed with your medical academic subjects that you can take from home. Checking the programs individually is an advantage as well. You have to make sure that the assistant programs that you are considering are accredited by Physical Therapy Association’s Commission on CAPTE before enrolling.

Standard physical therapist assistant programs are divided into two modules. The first consist of various academic coursework where you will be studying various subjects including physiology, anatomy, disabilities and therapeutic exercises, introduction to physiology, psychology, medical terminologies and ethics. You will also be using various computer-based methods to help you learn how to become successful in this career.

Online physical therapist assistant programs also offer computer-based reading materials. Your assignments will be submitted through email and you will be attending your classes online. This way, you will also be getting direct instructions from your professors just like how it is in a classroom setting. You will also get the chance to participate in discussions along with your fellow students.

All accredited online schools provide clinical practices as part of their programs. You will also be required to participate in various laboratory work practices in a healthcare setting. That means even if you are in a distance learning program, you still have to arrange accommodation or transportation to be able to attend these clinical practices.

If you are serious about getting an online degree in this field, make sure to find physical therapist assistant programs that can be beneficial for you. You also have to make sure that the program you opt for is accredited by the CAPTE or all your efforts will be put into waste. To make sure of that, do not forget to do your assignment and research on the schools that are accredited by CAPTE and see if they are offering online programs for those who want to become a certified assistant.

EFT Tapping for Physical Pain and Emotional Trauma After Traumatic Kidnapping

In this country-and around the world-we spend immense amounts of money trying to help people overcome PTSD, painful childhood experiences, abuse and physical pain and illnesses. Usually, we use various medications, surgery, chiropractic and other methods. There’s one method, however, that ends up being relatively inexpensive and often surprisingly quick. It’s called EFT-Emotional Freedom Techniques.

To give you an example of what EFT can do with PTSD and physical pain, here’s one client’s story-I’ll call her June. (I’ve changed details to protect her privacy). June had suffered from several incidents of cancer. She had also experienced a number of traumas in childhood and in her teens.

PTSD Symptoms

She came into my office because she had recently been kidnapped and held at gunpoint for several hours, and was experiencing various symptoms of PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: she had trouble being near where she had been held; she was very jumpy whenever people came up behind her. She often felt nauseated, almost to the point of vomiting; she had a hard time getting out of bed in the morning and was in bed in the early evening, but then couldn’t sleep. She was afraid to leave her house and had difficulty motivating herself to work at her job. She felt extremely apathetic about everything in her life and had difficulty concentrating on anything. She became angry very easily and memories of the incident kept intruding into her mind. She said she felt like she wasn’t herself anymore, she felt lost and cried easily and was avoiding places where the perpetrator made her drive in her car while he was holding a gun to her side. Before the carjacking, she had been a very social, cheerful, competent person.

In addition to the above trauma, June had just recently had surgery for recurring cancer, and was still recovering from the pain of surgery.

Here’s how EFT works

You’ve probably heard of acupuncture, or even experienced it. I remember going to an acupuncturist for allergies, and it helped very quickly. Another time, it was the only thing that helped with sciatica. With EFT, we tap on the energy meridians that acupuncture uses to heal all kinds of issues, from physical pains and illnesses to emotional pain caused by stress, traumas, PTSD, phobias, dysfunctional childhood, and much more. And it’s often way quicker than medical or psychotherapy interventions. Where EFT has an additional advantage is that it aligns the part of us that has the intention to get better and the part of us that may have some unconscious hesitations or fears and gets in the way.

First EFT Tapping Session

PTSD When a person goes through something very traumatic, it’s often too intense to remember the event. What we do with this, with EFT, is to have the person put the memory to the side and just guess, if they were to think about the details, how intense it would be. Usually their guess is that it would be very intense. Then we give the event a name, in this case “The Kidnapping,” We focus only on the title and EFT Tapping decreases the emotional charge. This happened with June. After several rounds of tapping, the emotional pain was lowered. Then we went into some of the details, and especially the emotions that arose when she thought of the event.

Loss of Innocence, Anger

The first thing that June realized was that she had felt a kind of innocent trust in life, which was shattered when she was kidnapped. Then she became angry at the kidnapper for taking away her innocence. All these were calmed down with EFT Tapping.

Physical Pain

Physical pains also arose as we focused on the event. Her throat tightened, she felt nausea in her stomach and pain in her sternum. These pains had been chronic for a while. With EFT Tapping, all these physical pains disappeared.

Second EFT Tapping Session

When June came back after her first EFT Tapping session, she felt improvements in her emotional state. She had slept better and was less depressed and apathetic. It was easier to leave her house. She also said that she had been more assertive with co-workers and her partner, and was developing clear boundaries. We went through some of the things we had cleared last time, and she was able to stay calm. Then we moved on to what was left, going into further details.

Fear, Guilt

Here, again, various kinds of emotional pain and physical pain arose. She was afraid that her attacker would seek her out and hurt her again. Like many people who have been held captive, she felt guilty about betraying him so that she could escape. And she felt that she may have a wound that could not be healed. With EFT Tapping, all these symptoms of emotional pain were calmed quite quickly.

Physical Pain

The physical pains that arose included a powerful headache, constriction in her throat, pain in her stomach, and tightness in her neck. And, most interestingly, a pain in the wound in her chest, where she had just had a cancerous mole removed. This wound had been very painful for several days. An image came to me of June metaphorically being shot in the heart. She agreed that is how it felt. So I had her focus on that and we tapped on it. With EFT Tapping, each physical symptom eased. And, amazingly, the pain of the wound that had been so intense ever since the surgery completely disappeared!

Physical Ailments and the Astral Body – 2 Reasons You Don’t Fall Ill in the Astral

Students of astral projection have innumerable questions about the skill they are trying to develop. The most popular of these questions is whether the astral body has the weaknesses and ailments of the physical body. For example, if you are paraplegic or blind or unable to hear, would your astral body also be a paraplegic or blind or unable to hear?

The answer to the above question is a resounding “No.” Physical ailments are limited to the physical. Just because your physical body is in a wheelchair doesn’t mean that your astral body has to use a wheelchair after you project. If you cannot hear properly, you can expect your astral body to enjoy perfect hearing ability. In other words, physical ailments are not carried into the astral. There are two powerful reasons for this.

1. No Physical Imperfections In The Astral

All imperfections and ailments are purely physical. The astral has no place for them. Your astral body neither hears with physical ears nor sees with physical eyes. You can rest assured that all physical ailments will be corrected when you enter the astral.

If physical ailments weren’t corrected in the astral realm, you would have had to carry your ailments after death too, which isn’t the case. People who have experienced near death experiences (NDEs) have reported seeing their loved ones utterly devoid of all their physical ailments and imperfections. This means that they were completely cured of all physical ailments and imperfections upon leaving their physical bodies and entering the astral planes.

2. Thoughts Are Manifested Quickly

What you experience in the astral is the result of your own thought patterns. Thoughts are manifested very quickly in the astral, and you will find yourself surrounded by materializations of what you think.

If you believe that you are blind or hearing impaired, you will find that you can neither see nor hear in the astral plane. Simply wish to have clear vision, and you will find your vision clearing. You just cannot carry your physical ailments into the astral. You only have to will them away, and they will disappear.

Now, if you project and find that you cannot see, don’t panic. Temporary “blindness” is normal when you project for the first time. You will find that you cannot “see” because you remain in the range of the magnetic body. Distance yourself from this range, and you will find your vision clearing. Everybody is blind as long as they remain inside the range of the magnetic body, and it doesn’t mean that you have carried an ailment into the astral plane.

Enhancing Both Physical & Emotional Health Through Pole Dance

Today, the world has rightly converted into a global village. Thanks to the ever improving technology, human life on the planet is drastically different in the present as compared to the past. However, there is a flip side to every good thing that presents itself. Life has turned more demanding and ruthlessly competitive at almost every sphere of the society. In this changed circumstance, mental stress and strain are a crucial factor that negatively affects our overall health and wellbeing.

Chronic medical conditions like blood sugar, insomnia or sleeplessness, cardiac problems, and high blood pressure, etc. are common across the society. As such, the need for nurturing an individual’s mental health along with the physical one was never felt more severely before in the past. As far as enhancing our physical health is concerned, there are innumerable gyms and health clubs. However, these venues hardly cater to our physical fitness and wellbeing. As far as our mental health is concerned, regimens practised there hardly prove much effective.

An Exclusive Fitness Regimen

In a recent trend, popularity graph for pole dance is steadily scaling newer heights. Fitness studios that exclusively deal with pole -based workout strategies are sprouting around almost every nook and corner. This exclusive fitness regimen caters to both our physical and emotional wellbeing, helping us to be fitter and stronger to cope with the new world order. Dancing along the pole invariably enhances one’s physical stamina along with boosting self-reliance. Moreover, the strenuous physical activity helps to shred excess flab in the body. The genre of dance proves to be one of the most effective options to tone up all the body muscles.

Better Physique & More

The laborious physical activity results in severe fatigue. This in turn boosts the levels of euphoric hormones, namely endorphin and serotonin, in the body. As such, it is no wonder that health-freaks who workout at the pole studios are found to be happier and more contented with life than the rest. The activity itself triggers immense fun and thrill that are deprived of at conventional health clubs. The taboo surrounding the strenuous physical activity is getting thinner every day. Hardly, quarter-of-an-hour of climbing, twisting, and turning at the pole everyday is bound to revamp one’s physical appearance along with unbelievably improved personality traits.

Pole dance is actually a rigorous cardiovascular workout. Even physicians these days are prescribing this helpful physical exercise to patients suffering from an array of chronic diseases. Thankfully, advanced age does not stand as a barrier to master the art of exclusive dancing. The activity is equally effective for both men and women irrespective of their age and physical appearance. There are many dedicated pole studios that provide extensive training and guidance on the physical activity. Considering the infinite array of benefits that the dance offers, it is no wonder that myriads of health conscious individuals are enthusiastically signing into pole studios these days.

Electric Mobility Scooters Present A Viable Solution To Physical Challenges

Electric mobility scooters can provide the elderly, disabled, and seriously ill freedom of movement. Mobility is a critical to just about every aspect of everyday living. Having some freedom of movement enhances a person’s capability to learn, earn a living and interact with friends, family and community. A large percentage of people with mobility limitations have permanent disabilities. Many people suffer from conditions that make walking an extremely difficult and painful task including arthritis, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis. These individuals benefit from a variety of mobility aids and devices to assist them in lead fulfilling and active lives. The most popular forms of independently operated mobility equipment are electric mobility scooters and motorized wheelchairs.

A motorized wheelchair is a form of personal transportation that typically has six wheels and is steered using a “joystick” type control mechanism. Other names for the motorized wheelchair include, electric chair, power wheelchair and power chair. A motorized wheelchair is usually equipped with outstanding maneuverability features that make them perfect for use in the home and will generally fit just about anywhere. Motorized wheelchairs are typically for in-door use.

The power mobility provided by electric wheelchairs has made a dramatic difference in many people’s lives. The development of new technology in the industry has made it possible for people to obtain smaller, more lightweight and maneuverable motorized wheelchairs for use inside the home allowing people to move about in small places and complete their activities of daily living without being bed-ridden or sent to nursing homes.

In comparison, mobility devices have either three or four wheels and steer much like a bicycle, using a set of handlebars and hand operated control mechanisms. Electric mobility scooters are ideal for indoor and outdoor activities, as they glide smoothly and easily over a variety of surfaces. There are even portable electric devices that will fit easily in the trunk of a car.

Electric mobility scooters are reliable, easy to operate, comfortable, safe and do not have the more obvious medical appearance of a motorized wheelchair.

Today’s electric mobility scooters have three or four wheels, a steering column-known as a tiller-with handlebars and hand operated control mechanisms and a platform that supports the seat, battery and the riders feet. Electric mobility scooters are much less physically strenuous than a walker or manual wheelchair. Although the rider of a mobility scooter must be physically able to walk a few steps and have adequate upper body strength and dexterity, they do not require the more substantial amount of strength and dexterity necessary to operate a walker or manual wheelchair. The swiveling captain’s style seat of an electric mobility scooter is typically easier than moving the foot supports of a manual or motorized wheelchair. In addition, Electric mobility scooters are simple to maintain and easily recharged using a standard electrical outlet and charger.

Physical impairments need not prevent someone from participating in daily activities as well as special occasions with family and friends. Electric mobility scooters restore independence and freedom of mobility to help promote an active lifestyle.
