Lita Cabellut is a modern artist born on October 24, 1961 in Spain. She studied art at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Holland, and graduated in 1983. Lita grew up in Barcelona; at the age of 13, she was inspired during a visit to the Prado Museum. She delighted in the Old Dutch Court and Spanish master painters and decided that she wanted to pursue painting.
Immediately, Cabellut started taking painting classes to learn the classical painting methods. By the age of 18, her work had already been exhibited at the Town Hall of Masnou in Barcelona. By the next year, Cabellut left Spain to study painting in the Netherlands. She studied for two years at the Rietveld Academy before striking out on her own to earn a living as a fulltime artist.
Lita Cabellut has a unique take on traditional subjects and has developed her own contemporary spin on the fresco technique. Her style even has its own name, called the “Cabellut-palette.” She has had her artwork exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and is widely considered as an “informal figurative painter” who uses mixed techniques to achieve her art. Many people have been highly appreciative of her beautiful adaptations.
Lita Cabellut continues to have many exhibits. Her work can often be seen at one of the Bill Lowe Gallery locations in Santa Monica, California, and Atlanta, Georgia. When her artwork is not on exhibit, these galleries may have some of her work for sale. To learn more about Lita Cabellut and to view her most recent artwork, visit BillLoweGallery.com.
