Having gone through a breakup, you are left to pick up the pieces and wonder if there is any chance of getting an ex back. Many who have gone through this process have felt the same way and understand how difficult it can be to work through this emotional time. First, I would like to let you know that there is hope in your situation. Saving a relationship is possible if you understand how to read some common clues given to you by your ex. These clues will give you insight into your relationship and will allow you to gauge the possibility of being able to reunite with your ex.
Here is the second clue, in my series of three. Follow this clue and determine how this will help you get an ex back.
Getting an Ex Back Clue #2: Keeping in Touch
Absolutely do not confuse keeping in touch with the famous ‘let’s be friends’ line. Oftentimes the receiver of the let’s be friends line gets panicked and feels like everything is over. In actuality, ‘let’s be friends’ is a neutral statement. In order to truly determine what this means for your future relationship, you must look beyond the line and determine if your ex still wants contact with you. That’s how you will really be able to know where you are headed and the amount of work you will have to do in getting an ex back.
Here’s what I mean by that statement. If your ex says let’s be friends and then has no contact with you whatsoever, you have a whole lot of work ahead of you to get him or her back. I am a firm believer that no situation is ever impossible. You will just have to work harder at your plan of action.
On the other hand, if your ex says let’s be friends and follows that with regular contact such as phone calls, text messages, IM’s, and surprise visits, this means something entirely different. [Important Note: If you and your ex have kids, pets, or common property then any contact regarding these issues should not be counted as contact. However, if the conversation regularly veers into other subjects and topics, then you should count this as keeping in touch.]
So why is this contact rule so important? That is a fair question and I will tell you that through examining many relationships, there are two very distinct reasons that an ex wants to keep in touch after a breakup. The first reason is very sunny, bright, and cheery. Your ex truly fears losing the friendship and wants to make sure that they keep in close touch (this is very rare, but does happen).
The second is a little more bleak, but there is a golden lining through it all. An ex will keep in touch in order to keep you as a backup relationship in case things don’t work out for them. Here’s what I mean.
1. The relationship they are currently in (sometimes secretly) blows up.
2. Nothing better ever comes along as they had hoped or anticipated.
Finding yourself in this position may take a little bit out of you. However, there is a definite bright side to this. You are their #1 romantic interest. They may not want to feel this way or ever admit that they do. But the fact of the matter is that they still see you as #1. As long as they keep in touch and keep you close, they are unsure about how their future may end up without you.
This is extremely favorable for you if you learn how to play your cards correctly. If you say and do the correct things, you’ll have a better chance of getting an ex back than you ever dreamed possible. Let’s get started.
Did you know over 70% of all people who break up ruin their chances of getting an ex back because they make one critical mistake?
