Most people who arrive in Thailand arrive in Bangkok, of course. So if you are headed off to another destination like Phuket or Chiang Mai but want a day or two of Bangkok fun, you will probably not want to spend too much. There is a plethora of cheap rooms in Bangkok starting from as low as $12 and even as low as a few bucks or 100 Thai baht if we are talking about Khao San hotels. If you want a cheap and luxury hotel in Bangkok you might try the Grand Ayudhaya Hotel Bangkok on Ratchadapisek Rd. at $49/night which has a grand lobby that suggest decent luxury though the rooms might be slightly on the cheap side of the phrase.
Bangkok boutique hotels are a popular new addition to the market these days and that is why this hotel gets special mention. The new Dream Hotel Bangkok on Sukhumwit 15 oozes luxury and hip, ambient design lets you know you are in the here and now. The blue lighting gives it an alien and futuristic feel. It feels like a 5-star hotel with its style and the service is sure to match it. Features like a DVD player in the room and free wifi further add to its superior quality. And the price? Starting at $75 a night, it feels like you are stealing from the owners. For what you get, it should probably be twice or three times as much but it’s a grand deal. It truly falls under the category of cheap and luxury hotels in Thailand.
Outside of Bangkok, you’ll be finding cheap and luxury hotels generally for a bit less. The major destination of Phuket can sometimes be more than Bangkok, but most places are cheaper. New boutique hotels like the Dream Hotel Bangkok are popping up in places and usually they are great value for your money. Since they’re smaller, they have better service and the creative designs create unique atmospheres.
For Phuket, I’d recommend Ramad Karon Beach Resort Phuket. In Hua Hin, the Dhevan Dara Spa & Resort Hua Hin is classy and nice for a good price.
