Not to decide is to decide!

When I first learned that truth it was so enlightening. To delay is a decision. To delay paying an account is a most unfair decision – in fact we need to call it what it really is – it is a deliberate sin.

It dishonours and disobeys God’s holy Word – and some may even think it is clever – and perhaps even wise – not in God’s eyes!

This one issue which causes so much ‘worry’ and tension and stress in business could be dealt with in a very short time if only people knew the principles behind God’s ways for mankind and business ethics – I only wish I could reach more people to teach this at Business Courses in our Colleges and Universities!

Men aren’t as open with their feelings and emotions as women are; which is why they often confuse women when it comes to relationships or attraction. For instance, you may find yourself constantly asking questions like these around men: “Does he like me? Does he hate me? Why is he acting that way? Why can’t he just be open with me? How come he shows me interest one minute, but ignores me the next? Why won’t he just ask me out?” etc…

You can even go to the library and get them on CD’s. These are great for when you are in the car and guess what, you’re getting smarter while you drive.

A while back I read a book that I loved! It’s called SHUT UP, STOP WHINING & GET A LIFE – by Larry Winget. Now Larry is known as the “Pitbull” of Personal Development and he lives up to this title. One to the things I found amazing in this book was the following. According to the American Bookseller Association:

· 80% of Americans did not buy or read a book this year.
· 70% of American adults have not been in a bookstore in the last 5 years.
· 58% of American adults never read a book after high school.
· 42% of University graduates never read another book.

Can you believe that! WOW! I’m still amazed while I’m writing this.

Now let’s just say you decide to join a Network Market business. What are your friends, family and co-workers going to think? WHO CARES!

Are they successful, have they ever took any chances in life, are they making or even have a chance to make up to 6 to 7 figures incomes in a year, do they hang around millionaires. If not, then why should you care what they think. We all have these people in our lives and they are nothing but DREAM CRUSHERS!

Will you do me a favor. Whatever you decide from this day forward, only do it for ONE PERSON. Do it for yourself because if you can see it, you can achieve it. I know, that one is corny but it really works.

When a guy predominately texts about sex and very little else, it makes a girl wonder. Is sex all he is after? It sure seems that way. If you have engaged him prior in sex talk or sexting, it’s hard to take it back. Guys don’t like the rules changed in the middle of the game. If he is texting you about sex, I am assuming that you did in fact participate once upon a time. If you didn’t and he is still doing it, get rid of him.

First no one dates to not have sex. It’s normal. It’s not really normal though to text a woman about it all the time. He does it because you have allowed it. Most guys will at least try to go there. They do this often as a qualifying process. They want to know if the woman they are talking to is relationship material or a fling material. The women that engage in this sexting and put up no boundaries are the ones they usually categorize as a fling.

If you did it all in fun, but regret it now and want to turn it around, there are several ways to go about it. The first way is more back door type. You can try this before you actually address it. When he texts you about sex, just don’t answer him or when you do, change the subject. No explanation is needed. Trust me, he knows what he is doing wrong. He should slow it down after a few attempts that aren’t met with reciprocation. He should get the hint.

Ah but a lot of men just don’t get the hint and you will need to be more direct about this. The first thing you can text back is “Is it normal for you to talk about sex all the time with women?”. This will make him evaluate. It also calls him out in a non blaming way. You are just asking a question. How is he going to answer? If he answers yes, then he looks like a douche bag. If he answers no, the door is now open for you to ask, “Then why do you do it to me?” If he answers with a lame reason, just send back, “Oh”, or don’t answer.

It’s up to you to break him of this and establish yourself out of the fling category. If he stops texting you have your answer. He just wanted sex. I would be willing to bet that you will get an apology out of him if you handle this correctly, not to mention move out of the fling zone.

The death of a loved one suddenly throws us into a state of mind where we often feel utterly alone, even though we are often surrounded by friends and relatives providing support. This paradox is a direct result of our cultural conditioning to expect certainty in life and the dismissal of the unseen as nothing but wishful thinking.

In reality, the unseen is infinitely more important to inner peace, happiness, and coping with loss than any physical object or amount of money. Love, hope, peace, and a variety of beliefs, for example, are extremely powerful unseen forces that are the real pillars of life and bring meaning to existence.

You are surrounded by the unseen in many other ways, not the least of which is the power of something greater than the self, which consistently and mysteriously operates in the universe. This ancient concept is critical to contemplate when mourning the death of a loved one. Consider the following in strengthening your resolve to cope with your great loss and to realize you are not alone in your journey. These insights have been utilized by others for centuries, although marginalized by the present day media.

1. God or your Higher Power is always with you. Having worked with many grieving people over the years, it has been clear that their belief in God or a Higher power who was in control and with them, provided their strength to persist. Believe that this great Source has a perfect plan of action that is good, workable, and filled with meaning, and also knows the difficult trials you are facing.

2. Millions of mourners have reported signs or contacts from deceased loved ones. These are not people who were in a disorganized state of mind or candidates for professional counseling. Their Extraordinary Experiences often came when least expected, and when they were not thinking about the deceased. Read some of these stories (Google search Extraordinary Experiences) and you will be convinced your loved one knows what you are dealing with.

3. There are people out there who are praying for you. Sometimes you may know others are praying for you, but we seldom think that there are people we don’t know who pray for others (like you) who are in need. Prayer connects the pray-er, the person prayed for and the Source. You are not alone but are part of this triangle.

4. Notice and be alert to the so-called coincidences that come into your life, especially when you are mourning. Perhaps it has happened already: support has come from the least expected people, you have asked for assistance from a spiritual source and you have received an answer on what to do, or you have an unusual experience when you are feeling especially depressed, and it lifts you up and out.

If you have not had the unexpected happen, bank on it. It will occur.

5. Consider the origin of the wisdom that bubbles up from within at just the right time. When you get that flash insight on what to do in your grief or what choice to make in your healing, think of where it must come from. Science will say it’s intuition. Mystics will say it’s the inner voice of love. But know that it comes from a loving source that is with you always.

6. Go outside and look at the complexities and beauty in nature that point to how intricately connected everything in our universe is. There are hidden rhythms in life that can be experienced by consistently putting yourself in a natural setting and carefully observing the beauty and genius that surrounds you. Focus on the sense of vitality and aliveness that engulfs you and decide where it comes from.

7. Invite a special person, saint, or mystic to be with you and give you assistance in your journey. Some people call on their Guardian Angels to guide and give suggestions. Spiritual traditions and many religions teach that these spiritual beings love you all of the time, and are waiting to help whether you are feeling depressed, abandoned, alone, or in need of emotional support.

Don’t let mainstream assumptions and the emphasis on physical reality minimize your belief in the true power in the universe. Your strong belief in nonphysical reality will help you to know that we are all connected, heart to heart. You are not alone, and will always have unexpected assistance, if you will only be open to it. There are many pathways to God or your Higher Power. One of them is through the experience that millions have reported when they were mourning: gifts from the unknown. Expect them.

Couple the above with building a support network of friends and relatives and you will have a combination that will get you through your great loss.

If you learned to cook from your mother, do you wonder why she never told you the one all-purpose way to tell when fruit is ripe and ready to eat? That’s because there isn’t one. There are more than 50 different species of fruit, and they all mature in different ways.

• Bananas and avocados are picked green and ripen off the tree.
• Most varieties of pears can be picked when full-sized but still green and very firm. Place them in a warm place and they ripen in a few days.
• Nectarines and plums can be picked when colorful but still very firm. They will ripen to your desired amount of firmness or softness after a few days at room temperature.
• Oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit won’t ripen after being picked from the tree.
• Most pineapples in the United States and Canada are from Hawaii. These pineapples have a golden yellow tan or reddish orange color when ripe. The golden color starts at the bottom. The upper part of the pineapple may be green but the further the golden color rises up the pineapple, the sweeter it will be. The true test for ripeness in all pineapples is to look at the bottom of the fruit. A yellow color breaking through the bottom indicates that sugar has developed in the pineapple and is ready to eat. If no yellow color exists, the sugar has not developed and the pineapple will not be sweet.
• Most peaches taste best from late June through August. At farm stands, aroma is an indicator. Fruit should smell as good as it tastes. Ripe cantaloupe should give a sweet aroma when sniffed where the stem was attached. But scent doesn’t always work in supermarkets, since refrigeration stunts the bouquet.
• Apples are crisp and flavorful when full-sized and when they display the identifying color of their variety. Most apples mature during the Autumn months of September and October. There are also a few Summer varieties.
• Color is also a tip-off with certain fruits. Ripe peaches have a rich, yellowish undertone, as do cantaloupes, while watermelons should have a whitish yellow color on the underbelly side. They should also resonate when slapped, like a musical instrument.
• Strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries are ripe and should be picked when the berry shows a rich, even color with no white spots.
• Grapes are harvested when fully ripe yet firm. Use color as a guide to the sweetness of the fruit. Green grapes should have a yellow cast or straw color with a touch of amber, when fully ripe. Red grapes should be a deep crimson, not a milky or pale red. Blue grapes should be darkly hued, almost black, not pale or tinged with green. Grapes should be plump. You can always judge the freshness of grapes by the stem. The greener the stem, the fresher the grapes.

Fresh fruit provides Vitamin A (apha-carotene, beta-carotene and retinol), Vitamin C, most of the B Vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folate and folic acid), and fiber.

Frozen grapes are a great, nutritious snack for kids. Put Red Flame or other seedless grapes on a tray in the freezer. When frozen, put them in a resealable plastic bag and return then to the freezer. Then kids can have sweet, frozen snacks anytime.

Prepare a fresh fruit salad by mixing your choice of fruit cut into cubes or balls. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator as the juices blend. No dressing is required. My favorite fruit salad combination is grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple, and strawberries.

For a simple but delicious dip for fruit mix equal amounts of whipped topping, marshmallow fluff, and fruit-flavored yogurt. Lime, lemon, orange, and strawberry yogurt taste great with fresh fruit.

Stuffed Pineapple Boats

This is a fun tropical recipe for special guests or a backyard luau.

2 small to medium pineapples

1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger or 1/3 teaspoon Watkins Ground Ginger

12 to 16 ounces roasted chicken breast meat, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

1 teaspoon Watkins Orange Extract

1 tablespoon almond or walnut oil

1 cup diced celery

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons sliced, toasted almonds

2 tablespoons shredded coconut

1 teaspoon minced jalapeño pepper

1. First hollow each pineapple. Cut pineapples in half lengthwise through crown and leaves. Remove the inner core by making a V cut underneath it, then lifting it out. With a short, sharp knife, cut all around the inside of the fruit leaving a 1/2 inch thick rim all around. Lift out the fruit inside the cavity and cut into 1/2-inch cubes or ball shapes. The attached leaves add to the decoration. To keep the boat from rocking, it may be necessary to cut a thin slice from the bottom of each half.
2. You should have about 6 cups of cut up pineapple. Save any juice for the dressing as you work. Squeeze out juice from any bits of extra pineapple to extract more juice. You should have about 1/4 cup juice.
3. If serving immediately combine pineapple with chicken, celery, almonds, and jalapeño in a mixing bowl. Combine ginger, vinegar, orange extract, oil, salt, and reserved pineapple juice in a separate bowl. Pour over salad mixture and mix well.
4. Put boats on large plates. Stuff each with 1/4 of the salad mixture and sprinkle with coconut. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.

If you are entertaining a group of guests choose a large pineapple for a serving dish, add salad mixture to pineapple halves, and let guests serve themselves.

Cooking Tip

To prepare this dish in advance, mix all ingredients except chicken. Stir in the chicken just before serving. The acids and enzymes in the pineapple turn the meat to mush after a few hours. Turkey or pork tenderloin may be used in place of chicken in this recipe.
