The Kingdom Hearts Experience

This series is one of my favorite series of all time. It can be enjoyed by people of all ages as it is a kid friendly game mixed with final fantasy and Disney characters. The gameplay combines elements of hack and slash, action, platforming and RPG. Some of the entries in the series deviate slightly with turn based action like Chain of Memories but most are real time action games. Kingdom Hearts I and II are on the PlayStation 2 with remixes and remasters of them coming out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox one.

The story is a classic battle between good and evil, Xenahort, heartless, nobodies, and evil Disney characters being the villains and Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Sora and other Disney characters as the heroes. While most of the games focus on Sora, Donald and Goofy, some games focus on side stories or adventures with characters such as Roxas, Aqua, and even a digital copy of Sora.

The first entry in the series and is a prequel to the rest of the series is Birth By Sleep. Next in the story is Kingdom Hearts which focuses on the adventures of Sora, Kairi, Riku, Donald, Goofy and Mickey. Two games fill in the gap between the first and second Kingdom Hearts games. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days and Chain of Memories take place between the first and second kingdom hearts game. 358/2 Days follows the story of Roxas, the nobody of Sora when he is turned into a heartless (one of the many enemies of the series).

Chain of Memories follows Sora, Donald and Goofy between the first and second games in the series. Then the story is continued in Kingdom Hearts II with Kingdom Hearts: Coded game taking place around the end of the second entry in the series. The most recent game to come out in the series is Dream Drop Distance. Dream Drop Distance focuses on the continued training of Sora to become a keyblade master to prepare for the upcoming battle against Xenahort. The third title in the series is set to come out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is the last of the Xenahort saga.

The gameplay is a mixture of hack and slash with keyblade fighting with magic added in as well. In each of the games you can customize your characters abilities as you level up, as well as your companions. Over time features and abilities have been added such as summoning Disney characters to assist in fights, or Drive forms which enhance combat or magic abilities.

The upcoming title in the series “X” is massive multiplayer online game being developed right now. Currently it’s not certain if it will come to North America but there has been beta testing done in Japan. Future titles will come out, but not much has been said so far, right now the game development team is focusing on the current Xenahort saga and wrapping that up.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Microsoft Xbox 360

Choosing a game console can be a very daunting task. If you don’t have an idea, and is being stuck between different game consoles, this article will help you decide. My previous article discussed the pros and cons of Nintendo Wii, and now, I will be showing you the strengths and weaknesses of Microsoft Xbox 360. This will help you determine whether Xbox is the right console for you or not.

Strength:

Of course, every Xbox user knows that the biggest strength of Microsoft is the Halo saga. I wonder if Microsoft will still continue to participate in the gaming war, if Halo had not been a huge hit for most gamers. This is also the reason why Microsoft boosted up in ranks when it comes to consoles.

Another known strength of Xbox is their resources. Being under Microsoft, which the biggest company in the world today, we can expect that they have billions to spend just to make their product one of the best.

Finally, they have an impressive 3rd party support that will develop games for them. We know that games are what keep the console alive, and so much connection, Xbox has tons of titles for any types of players.

Weakness:

Aside from Halo, Xbox doesn’t have phenomenal games. It seems that they need to work more on software developments instead of promoting or improving their gaming product.

These are the weaknesses and strengths of Xbox. I hope that this information is enough to help you decide which is the right one to purchase. Always keep in mind that the real strengths of gaming console lies in the eyes of the player, so choose wisely when looking for one.

Watch out for my final article about the weaknesses and strengths of game consoles. I will be discussing another powerhouse called Playstation.

How to Fix Your PS3 Red Light of Death

The PS3 red light of death is one of the most annoying problems with the PS3 and unfortunately there is not a lot you can do to prevent this. It is caused by your PlayStation overheating. If you are looking for easy, cheap solution to this problem then you have come to the right place.

Firstly before you do anything I would try these 3 steps to make sure you can’t fix the problem instantly (although if you are having trouble over and over again with this then I would recommend getting the console fixed).

1. Restart your console

2. Unplug the power lead and cables then plug them back in to see if this resolves the problem.

3. Take out the hard drive and then put it back in.

If none of these steps have got your console working then I’m afraid it’s probably bad news and you need to fix your PlayStation. Don’t panic, You might be thinking to yourself now that its going to cost you a fortune to fix and your going to be waiting ages to be back playing on your favorite games.

There are 3 ways you could go about fixing your red light of death

1. Send it to Sony which will cost you hundreds of pounds and you will have to wait for possibly 6 weeks to be back playing.

2. Take it to a repair shop which could still cost you a lot of money and could still take 2-3 weeks to be repaired.

3. Fix it yourself with a simple step by step guide.

For me it’s a pretty simple choice, save yourself money and time and fix it yourself. I can hear you saying now ‘well I know nothing about fixing a games console’ well there is no need to worry.

Rob Sheffield is a PS3 repairman and author of the PS3 light fix, A simple, easy to follow step by step guide. It has helpful videos to help you along the way. It’s for complete beginners who know nothing about this sort of thing. Its is simple as following the steps in the guide.

Well-Known PS Vita Cheats

The PS Vita, or PlayStation Vita, is a handheld gaming system that allows gamers to enjoy many of their favorite video games on-the-go. It also connects to the PlayStation 3 console to allow users a media-rich and universal experience. Listed here are some of the most well-known PS Vita cheats available today.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation

The Assassin's Creed series is one of the most famous series ever created for the PlayStation platforms. While there are no cheat codes that can be used with Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, there is one noticeable glitch of which players can take advantage. The glitch will allow the player to triple the amount of goods that a ship can bring to port, but only after they can freely visit the Bayou. To do it, players will load a ship completely with the goods of their choice before dispatching the ship to another port. Then, players simply exit the screen and travel to the Bayou. All of the dispatched ships will be in port. Players select a ship for trading and choose 'Sell Goods'. Three sets of the chosen goods will be available.

Mortal Kombat

While the PS Vita cheats that are available for Mortal Kombat only consist of one option, it is certainly very interesting and can make gameplay incredibly exciting. Essentially, players can unlock an arena background that is an image captured by the Vita's rear-facing camera. To do it, players should go into Tutorial mode, select Practice, and then hold the Left and Right 'trigger' buttons as they press Triangle to select the stage. Players who succeed will hear Shao Kahn laughing, and they will see an image that is being captured by the PS Vita's camera instead of the normal arena background for the stage they have selected.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Treasure hunting aficionados all over the world have fallen in love with the Uncharted series, but there are some players who would certainly benefit from the extra ammo PS Vita cheats in the Uncharted: Golden Abyss game. When dangling from ropes or chains, the pistol is the only weapon available-but there is a catch. Even if the player's ammo runs out while he or she is hanging there, the avatar will continue to reload the pistol again and again. Thus, players who truly want to take out the enemy without having to track down ammo can simply hang from a rope, vine or chain and shoot to their hearts' content. This is especially useful when players wield a high-powered pistol.

Lego Lord of the Rings

Lego Lord of the Rings is one of the only games with an extended list of PS Vita cheats in the form of codes that can be entered into the pre-game menu. Here is the complete list of cheat codes for unlocking various effects and characters in the game:

· GD35HC – 8 – Bit Music

· T1JM4R – Action Assist

· C7FJ7B – Attract Studs

· UE5Z7H – Berserker

· J4337V – Bilbo Baggins

· F3H14H – Boss Disguises

As more and more people become familiar with the game system and developers continue to introduce new games especially for this handheld device, the number of PS Vita cheats that will become available will unduly grow.

What is the Top Video Game Console?

Video game consoles have come a long way since the Atari 2600 system and “Pong”. So when talking about the most popular video game systems, it would be logical to assume that last year’s top console could consistently be one of the most up-to-date systems. The Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 probably would come to mind.

Are you ready for a shocker? The most popular video game console of April, 2009 was the PlayStation 2! Yes, it’s the same gaming system that Sony had released nearly a decade earlier, in 2000. About 140 million units and 2,000 games later, the PS2 is still going strong.

You might be wondering: how is the “most popular” gaming system being defined? PS2 earned the title based on recent Nielsen ratings. The ratings are calculated by totally the number of minutes gamers spent playing particular consoles, during an entire month. When Nielsen published its statistics for April of 2009, PlayStation 2 was at the top, earning 21.6% of all gaming minutes that month. The second most popular gaming system was right on the PS2’s tail, with Xbox 360 earning 21.1% of the total minutes. Nintendo Wii was farther behind, at 17.6%, and PlayStation 3 was next at 10.5%.

You should certainly take these figures with a grain of salt. One factor is that in April 2009, Xbox 360 games were selling better than all the other video game consoles. Also, Nintendo released a significant amount of original titles towards the latter half of 2009. In fact, by November of 2009, the PS2 dropped to second place in the Nielsen ratings (19.8%). The Xbox 360 was king of the ratings, earning 24.1% of usage minutes. Meanwhile, the Wii took third place (16.0%), and the PS3 was in fourth place (12.4)

Nonetheless, the staying power of the PS2 is nothing short of incredible, considering how rapidly the gaming industry changes. Still, newer doesn’t necessarily mean better. Remember all the hype surrounding Sony’s unveiling of the PS3? Nielsen’s figures show that it’s fallen well behind the Xbox 360 and Wii, in terms of minutes played. So there’s something to be said about playing games on the oldie-but-goodie PS2.

How about those Nielsen ratings for PC games? “World of Warcraft” continues to be the most popular PC game on planet Earth. In fact, it’s not even close! When Nielsen released its monthly figures in April of 2009, about 45% of all minutes that PC gamers racked up were for “World of Warcraft” alone. Interestingly, while players average more time playing other games, those games have fewer players. As of November 2009, “World of Warcraft” still topped the charts, with “Warcraft 3” earning the second spot. Gamers weekly spent about 8.7 hours and 7.6 hours playing the two games, respectively.

It remains to be seen how the gaming systems will rank in Nielsen’s ratings, in 2010. The PS2 will likely drop further in the charts, as newer systems produce more advanced games. But consider the fact that on average, gamers are still spending twice as much time playing PS2, as they are playing PS3!

The Dream That Will Never Die: Dreamcast Independent Gaming in 2016

I still remember the day I found out that SEGA were going to discontinue the Dreamcast. It was early 2001 and the PlayStation magazine I was reading (we used to actually read magazines back then) covered the demise of the Dreamcast before swiftly moving on to the successes of the PS2. Thanks to those successes and the massive preference for PlayStation over the SEGA Saturn the generation previous, Sony had almost single-handedly driven SEGA out of the console business leaving them to concentrate on software only from that day forth. With the Dreamcast topping out at a meagre 9 million and change in sales and the PS2 hitting the dizzy heights of over 150 million units sold, the Dreamcast was destined to be little more than a footnote in the pages of gaming history.

If you’d said to me on that day in 2001 that we’d still be seeing new games released for the Dreamcast on a fairly regular basis in 2016 I’d have simply smiled and nodded while I backed away slowly. And yet here we are fifteen years later and the SEGA Dreamcast has a surprisingly vibrant community of indie developers still releasing games despite the fact that SEGA has had little to do with the console (other than repairs) since the early ’00s. So if you’ve still got one of those crafty white boxes tucked away in the attic somewhere, or even if you’re just looking at getting into retro gaming for the first time, there’s probably something on the horizon that’s worth taking a look at.

Although we’re only a month into 2016, the Dreamcast has already seen one console exclusive game release in Leona’s Tricky Adventures. Inspired by the Amiga puzzle game Gem X, Leona’s tasks the player with increasingly, erm, tricky colour based puzzles similar to that handheld Lights Out game of the mid-nineties that you might remember. Leona’s Tricky Adventures is available for purchase as you’re reading this on Steam, but the Dreamcast version comes with a full jewel case including artwork. Which is obviously so much better.

Looking to the future, the long in development Elysian Shadows is slated to hit the streets at some point in 2016. After coming to the public consciousness via a series of YouTube development videos in 2007, and then a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014, Elysian Shadows is a role playing game featuring customisable characters, a dynamic day/night cycle, and an eye-catching 2D/3D hybrid art style. Set in a fantasy world akin to the one seen in classic JRPG Final Fantasy VI, Elysian Shadows tells a story of conflict between religious zealots handed magical powers from The Creator and atheists forced to rely on futuristic technology. While there’s no solid release date yet and development of the game has hit a couple of snags recently, developer GyroVorbis maintains that the title will see release in 2016, and who are we to argue?

Scheduled to come in June of this year, Alice Dreams Tournament is a 2D Bomber Man-like from French developers Alice Team. Players must traverse the 2D mazes using their bombs to clear paths and destroy the other players in the stage, while also looking for power ups to increase the number of bombs they can drop or the damage their bombs do upon detonation. The game features a robust multiplayer mode including seven different game types ranging from the standard death matches to more elaborate modes involving math puzzles.

Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness is a horror first person shooter that started life as an extension of the Blood franchise but morphed into it’s own story as development moved further along. After some disputes with Atari due to assets from Blood being used in the production of Hypertension, as well as a brief cancellation of the project because of that, development of Harmony of Darkness has progressed with the game expected to see a release at some point in 2016.

Hucast Games are looking to release Redux 2, the sequel to their remake of the scrolling shoot-em-up DUX at some point in 2016. Pre-orders for the game are already live and there’s a fancy collector’s edition which includes a soundtack CD and a DVD of extras if you’re inclined to pay up for that sort of thing. The vanilla game features seven brand new stages and a two player co-operative mode for the gamers that like to do their arcade shooting with a buddy in tow. If you’re a fan of R-Type or other ship shooters of that ilk then Redux 2 might be a game worth keeping an eye on.

If you’re looking for something a little more out of the ordinary, away from the 2D shooters and puzzle games, then the Dreamcas t indie scene can cater to your needs with a title like SLaVE from Isotope and Jay Townsend. SLaVE attempts to mesh the gaudy aesthetics of ’80s arcade games with the addictive first person gunplay of titles like Doom and Wolfenstein. If the combination of eye-popping colours and punishing first person shooting rubs you the right way, then SLaVE could very well be a game for you. If you’re interested in it you might want to move quickly though; the game is planned to be ultra-limited edition with no more than 484 copies of game destined for release.

SEGA gave up on the Dreamcast in the face of ultra-stiff competition from the Sony PlayStation 2 after a mere two years on the market, but there’s a community of dedicated indie developers who just refuse to move on. It has a cult following that are still producing new content fifteen years after the console’s commercial demise. Since the discontinuation of the console in 2001 there have been over thirty independent titles released for it, including Sturmwind, Rush Rush Rally Racing, Wind and Water, and Gunlord. So perhaps next time you’re in the attic and you spot your old Dreamcast tucked between a Furby and a Spirograph, consider digging it out, dusting it off, and seeing what the old girl can do in 2016.

Android RPG Games

Mobile phones have gotten fancier over the years. First the developers added cameras, the internet and now most smart phones can now play video games. They’re not budget games like Snake or Tetris either. Smart phones are able to play video games that have the same quality that portable gaming devices produce.

One of the most recent smart phones released is Sony’s Xperia Play. Xperia Play has been dubbed as the world’s first PlayStation certified phone. Not only is it a phone, but it can double as a portable gaming device. The controls are very similar Sony’s other products such as the PSP and the PS3 controller just to name a few.

This means you can finally play PlayStation-style video games with the comfort of a real control scheme. There is nothing more uncomfortable than playing games on your phone using the horrible numbered keypad. The most pleasant thing about the Xperia Play is that some PlayStation Classic games will be heading their way onto the system very soon.

Although there have not been any RPG PlayStation games available yet, it’s more than likely that Square Enix will release some of its Final Fantasy games onto the platform. Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX have all been ported to Sony’s PlayStation Network. The thought of putting Final Fantasy VII (the most popular RPG ever made) on the Xperia Play could help Sony take a hold of the market dominated mostly by Apple.

Zenonia 2 is an old-school 16-Japanese RPG much like the older Final Fantasy games from the early ’90s. The 2D graphics are cute and the game itself is one of the better RPGs available on Android phones. Although the game is heavily inspired by Japanese RPGs, it’s actually made in Korea. Nevertheless, I’m sure it’s a game RPG fans will love playing.

Gurk is a game that will be liked from gamers who grew up in the ’80s. It’s an old-school style video game that is only a mere 100KB to download. Despite Gurk’s very old style of graphics, it’s still in color and a blast to play. There are 24 levels in all and a total of 23 monsters for you to find and kill. Gurk won’t be a game liked by modern gamers, but if you grew up playing the original Nintendo game system, you will fall in love with its old-school style of gameplay.

Another RPG game available on Android phones is Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. The game is an online cooperative action-RPG much like Torchlight and Baldur’s Gate. The game is free to download for most phones. The graphics are in full 3D and looks stunning for a game that costs nothing to download. Up to four players can play together online. It may be clichéd and borrows elements from most other RPG games, however its visuals and multiplayer is what makes it quite fun.

Whether you own an Xperia Play or not, there are tons of RPG games to explore on Android phones. Quite a few of them are free to download, so there’s no excuse for you not to play any of the games here on offer. Let’s hope Square Enix brings more Final Fantasy games to the Android market as that will certainly boost the popularity of the genre.

Sony Teases New Mobile Gaming Console

Hot on the heels of Nintendo's illustrious unveiling of their new 3DS console, Sony has decided to take the lid off of ONE of their upcoming mobile platforms. It's been whispered about behind Sony corporate booths at tradeshows, and murmurs of it can be heard bouncing through the aisles of your local mall from the lips of the nerd soothsayers that roll around in the Sony Style Store chanting 'PlayStation Phone' in tongues.

Well, this IS the PlayStation phone, at least the closest we're going to get to one for a while, and it's Sony Ericsson's new XPERIA R800i. It's a more or less typical looking handset upon first glance. It's got a volume toggle on the side, charging and headphone ports, logos where you'd expect them, and a 854×480 pixel multitouch display. But, slide the screen up and you're looking at essentially a flattened dual shock controller, sans one set of shoulder buttons. The iconic 4-button pad is still there, as is the d-pad, and the dual control sticks have been replaced with two round touch pads.

According to initial tests, it seems to have enough power under the hood to handle 3D rendering with as much grace as any other competitor and more so, particularly because of its ample 512 megabytes of system memory. It's an Android handset, a fact that's clear enough once you notice the four Android hotkeys at the bottom of the screen. It's running a modified version of the Android platform for now, changed to feature some healthy sprinklings of PlayStation flavors. It will be able to run any game you can imagine from the Android App store, and there are sure to be plenty of third party games developed for a mobile device with 'PlayStation' in its name. What's more, the open Android platform makes finding decent emulators a snap, so you can play Super Mario World on the virtual Super Nintendo running on your Sony PlayStation Phone and stand there boggled by the staggering marvels you're experiencing.

Wholesale Video Games Distributor – Warning

You need to be prepared for the saturation of wholesale video games distributor phenomena that is going to take place and start appearing on the Internet in the following weeks when the PlayStation 3 hits the stores in the first weeks of November of this year. Right now there are many buyers taking advantage of the eBay craze of selling PlayStation 3 consoles at almost three times the current retail price that is due in launch day. The price of the PlayStation 3 will be $600 for the premium package- can you believe what will happen when those PS3 consoles hit the market the hungriness that it will leave for many small based business online?

What I am trying to warn you about is that there will be hundreds if not thousands possible fake wholesale video games distributors that will try to start selling PS3 on the Internet at supposed wholesale prices and even below wholesale prices for such new consoles. While their will be many wholesale games distributors for the purchase of video games and even PS3 related material, as a power seller myself- I will not recommend touching sites that say that you can get PlayStation 3 consoles and games at 50-80% in wholesale prices for numerous reasons.

While you can certainly buy wholesale games at 40-95% below the market retail value- you should not be able to purchase legit wholesale PS3 items below wholesale for at least the first 2 years. If you have study this wholesale market the way I have done so- you can compare what happened with PS3 biggest competitor. If you understand what happened here you should know that such giant corporations are not launching a huge stock of consoles in launching dates for numerous marketing reasons that I cannot discuss right now as a fact for multiple reasons. If remembering what happened a year ago with such PS2 and now PS3 competitor, you will know what I am talking about.

You will certainly know that you cannot buy at 50-95% PlayStation 3 in any way with direct online distributors or offline distributors or wholesalers. Why? Ask yourself why a company like Sony will allow the sell of wholesale items on their upcoming best-seller at wholesale prices? It is virtually unreasonable to give a seller permit to distribute and sell PS3 at way below retail prices. How do you think that the fortune 500 retail companies will profit from this boom? How do you think that all the companies and CEO owners that hold major stocks at their distribution line will feel if they do not receive a clear cut commission out of the sell of in-demand new market consoles if their were wholesale video games distributors selling below retail prices?

Again, in more than 5 years of being a veteran in the sell of wholesale items both online and offline I can honestly say to you not to look for this for at least the next 2 years. I tell you because, I love buying from wholesale distributors and re-selling merchandises at two and three times the profits. It is of my sole experience and in my opinion to give you- the no, no when it comes to buying PS3 at real wholesale prices for at least the first year. This is a power seller who earns thousands selling wholesale in combined business on the Internet and offline. Use this article as reference and never as wholesale video games distributor legal advice or as a buying guide for online or offline business.
