Throughout the following Witch Doctor Leveling Build, we will take a look at the best leveling spells and abilities to choose during the early stages of Diablo 3.

The witch doctor class has a wide range of assorted skills to use throughout the leveling process. They possess a myriad of very powerful AOE attacks as well as quite the menagerie of vicious pets and minions to call upon. While leveling, this character class will be making use of their pets to attack their foes and keep themselves out of harms way. Meanwhile, the witch doctor will be able to use their extremely powerful AOE abilities to annihilate their enemies while they’re distracted by pets.

The Witch Doctor has 3 types of skills. The first group are abilities that stem from the Physical Realm, the second are abilities that come from the Spirit Realm and the third type are command abilities, or summoning skills.

Once you hit level 10, you should be using the skills below:

The first active witch doctor skill to grab is Poison Dart, an ability in the Physical Realm.

Poison Dart deals 100% poison damage to your target and puts a DoT, or “damage over time”, on your enemy that deals another 80% damage over two seconds. This is a powerful single-target ability but not so great for multiple targets. Poison Dart costs 295 mana.

The second active witch doctor skill you should use is Plague of Toads, also an ability used in the Physical Realm.

Plague of Toads calls upon a deadly pack of toads that hop around and do 130% poison damage to any foe they touch. This is a great AOE ability for larger groups of enemies. Plague of Toads has a fairly hefty mana requirement of 355 mana.

The third active witch doctor skill you will want to pick up is called Summon Zombie Dogs, a Command skill.

Summon Zombie Dogs is the first Command ability you’ll be pickup up. This skill summons three dogs that do 9% of your weapon damage to enemies every time they attack. This may not seem like much damage, but remember that each dog is doing 9% for a total of 27% and this is all happening in addition to your regular attacks. Ultimately, it’s a pretty substantial damage boost only costing 295 mana.

The first passive witch doctor skill you are going to use is called Vermin. Vermin increases the damage of your Plague of Toads (as well as Corpse Spiders, Firebats, and Locust Swarm) by 20%. More damage = better. Grab it.

By level 10, you’re probably starting to get the hang of using your voodoo and minions to lay waste to your foes. While the skills and abilities I have outlined may be very efficient in helping you to level quickly, you may find that there are other skills that you would rather use simply because you find them more fun to use. That is perfectly fine!

Remember that the most important component of fast leveling is consistency and that is best achieved by having enough fun so that the hours seem to fly by!

“Every cloud has a silver lining” – that’s what people sometimes say. But they are not thinking about HSV at the time. Herpes is just one of several itchy, blistering infections, caused by the virus group aptly named as herpes viruses. Eight members of the virus group infect humans and result in various illnesses including chickenpox, shingles, glandular fever, and, indeed, herpes itself.

Nearly everybody contracts one of these viruses during their childhood. But the virus group will stay in the body permanently; not just for the holidays. After your immune system combats the primary infection, the virus goes into an inactive phase called “latency.” It stays hidden, showing no apparent symptoms. In this manner, herpes viruses are like life-long parasites, guaranteeing their own survival and causing damage to their host’s health. In extreme instances, latent viruses can cause chronic inflammation, which in return can result in autoimmune diseases or a few forms of cancer.

But there’s a bright side to herpes as well. Washington University Medical School’s Erik Barton and colleagues discovered that once infected, mice went into the latent phase and became shockingly resistant to particular types of bacteria. Different from their susceptible and uninfected peers, they are even able to fight off the fatal plague bug, Yersinia pestis.

In mice at least, latent herpes viruses develop into paying tenants instead of freeloading squatters – resistance to the bacteria is their rent. The latent phase is vital to the effect of resistance, and Barton discovered that a mutant herpes virus infects yet provides nothing in return to its host.

The viruses function by placing the immune system on alert. The effect is just like raising a terror alert, causing an intensified security level where the body is ready to ward off any threats. The viruses activate the release of cytokines in high levels. Cytokines are immune system chemicals. These molecules – counting IFN-g (interferon-gamma) and TNF-a (tumor necrosis factor alpha) – aid to coordinate the defense against infections.

These chemicals trigger macrophages – a white blood cell. These cellular slayers consume invading bacteria and digest them. They’re activated in large quantities in mice infected by herpes viruses at the latent stage. This sequence is just how the immune system protects us against various bacterial invaders. However, in Barton’s study, the protection was initiated by viruses instead and persisted for longer than usual. Good for the mice.

What do we gain from these viruses? Will it have the same effect on us as the mice? Barton thinks so. In his research, two different strains – gHV68 (murine gammaherpesvirus 68) and MCMV (murine cytomegalovirus) – had a similar effect. He thinks that giving bacterial resistance is a universal characteristic of all herpes viruses.

In order to get rid of centipedes in the house it is necessary to follow a 2 step process that involves humidity and food supply. Other larger centipedes like the tropical Scolopendromorpha are born directly with 21 pairs of shorter legs and flexible segments, can reach gigantic size up to 12 inches (30 cm) and feed on mice, lizards, frogs and even tarantulas, while the house centipede has a rigid segmented body with long and fast legs and feeds on other house pests. Unlike other species of centipedes, the house centipede has good eye sight but catches its prey with the aid of antennae too.

Typical house centipede preys include ants, termites, bed bugs, spiders and cockroach nymphs as well as opportunistic kitchen left overs. This way the centipedes will have a hard time in keeping their body moist and may want to leave.

In their presence is persistent it may be a sign that they have found a steady food supply on which to feed on. This means you may have more than just a centipede problem but also roaches, ants or any other bug enticing the centipede to stay. Sir Isaac Newton was not only one of the best physicists ever lived but he was also one of those scientists that contributed a lot to mathematics. He made most of his mathematical contributions while he was first a student then a professor at Trinity College, Cambridge between the years 1661 and 1696. Our world would not be the same today without the important discoveries of the son of this yeoman farmer.

The years 1665-66 were one of the worst for England when the Bubonic Plague devastated all big cities. 1665 is also the year when Newton got his B.A. When the school was shut down to fight the plague, Newton retreated to the family farm at Woolsthorpe. During those two years that he spent in seclusion doing nothing but devoting all his time to physics and mathematics, Newton discovered the law of gravity and made important advances in mathematics.

Here is a list of the 23 year old Newton’s achievements during those two crucial years:

He discovered the law of universal gravitation, invented calculus (at the same time as but independently of Leibnitz in Germany), further developed the binomial theorem, and started his life-long studies in optics and the theory of colors.

There, during his two year stay at the farm, Newton discovered and proven that the same force that pulls a rock towards the earth (i.e., gravity) is one and the same force that pulls the moon towards the earth and keeps it in orbit. He later on developed this into a “Principle of Universal Gravitation” which said any two objects in the universe attracted one another in direct ratio to the product of their masses, and in inverse ratio to the square of the distance between them.

Newton is best known for his 3 Laws of Motion:

Law 1 (Law of Inertia): If an object is at rest and there is no net force acting on it, it will remain at rest. If it is moving at a constant speed and no net force is acting on it, it will continue to move at that constant speed.

Law 2: F = ma, or: the net force acting on an object is its mass multiplied by the acceleration of the object. Thus if an object is moving at a constant speed, that is, if its acceleration is zero, then there is zero net force acting on it.

Law 3: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If A is pushing B with a force of F, B is also pushing A in the opposite direction with a force of F. Sun attracts the Earth, and Earth attracts the Sun with the same force!

During 1668 and 1669, Newton worked on optics at the Cambridge University.

1669 is another important year in Newton’s life since that’s when Prof. Isaac Barrow resigned from the famous “Lucasian Chair” at Cambridge and offered it to Newton as its second occupant. Having the security of a good tenured position, Newton pressed on with his studies into the nature of light and optics with a renewed vigor.

Here is a summary of Newton’s various contributions to the science of optics, some of which later on culminated in his 1704 book also titled “Optics.”

Newton developed instruments to grind lenses into shapes other than spheres. He is the first in human history to discover that, when passed through a prism, the sun light is split into a bundle of different colored rays. On the basis of that observation he developed the first successful explanation of rainbows.

The great physicist has also discovered the telescope that is still known today by his name; invented a reflecting microscope in 1672, as well as a sextant which was independently discovered in 1731 by J. Hadley.

However, for all his daring discoveries in optics and the theory of colors, Newton was attacked vehemently during the 1670s. Sometimes it takes minds lesser than a genius a little lag time to catch up with the greatest discoveries of human history.

Even if Newton had died in his mid-twenties his place in the world of mathematics and science would’ve been secure enough. But he lived about 60 more years and pushed the frontiers of human reason and science even further – thanks to his extraordinary gifts as physicist and a mathematician.

Good horror movies are hard to come by. So, how exactly do you differentiate the good ones from the rotten ones?

I compiled a list of upcoming top horror movies of 2011. The first is Season of the Witch, mainly starring Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman. In the movie, they are knights returning to their homeland only to find it ruined by the Black Plague. As the movie proceeds, several church elders accuse a girl for causing destruction through witch craft. Thus, the two knights are entrusted to hand her over to monks who would lift the curse from their land once and for all. The movie would be released on January 7th 2011.

Red Riding Hood is also one of the upcoming top horror movies that have captured the attention of many. Amanda Seyfried plays a beautiful young woman named Valerie in the middle of a love triangle. She is in love with an orphan woodcutter but arranged to marry another. Then, Valerie’s older sister is killed by the werewolf that the villagers have made a deal with since many years ago. A famed werewolf hunter is called upon to assist in killing the werewolf but his warning chills them – the wolf is able to take a human form by day and could be any of the villagers. As panic among the villagers rises along the death toll rate, she begins to suspect the identity of the werewolf. This movie injects new life to a decade long tale, bringing much needed freshness to the horror movie industry. It would be released on March 11th 2011.

Between 1348 and 1350, the world’s population was reduced by more than an estimated 100 millions. It is also of the worst pandemic that has happened to mankind. As the plague continues its rampage, many people lost faith in the church. Then, rumours in a marshland tell of a beautiful place where the plague cannot reach, lead by a necromancer. As a result, Ulric and his crew are sent to investigate with the guidance of a novice monk. The movie would be released on March 11th 2011.

Can we disrupt insect flight with sound waves? Can we stop a locust plague from devastating crops using sound? Is there anything we can do to stop this problem of mankind, as ancient writing, religious text and folklore tells of these locust plagues from as far back as 5,000 years of recorded history.

So, do we now have the technology to stop them now in the present period? Or can we do this using sound to steer them away from crops and human civilizations? Which is along my previous lines of thinking in the articles I have written and posted.

Of course if mankind can figure this out, can we then control insects and if so, what else can we use this technology for? My thoughts along your line of inquiry span many subjects such as; SmartDust Communication, Aerodynamics of Micro MAVs, Earthquake Prediction using Insect senses, Preventing Locust Plagues, Inducing Insects for Military Use, Helping Farmers, Providing protein to the masses, making energy, Learning from Nature’s evolution to build machines, Border Security and controlling insects to prevent the spread of disease or using the insects as a shield to divert migratory birds; N5H1 Bird Flu, West Nile, SARS, etc.

Also studying swarm theory to accomplish tasks with nanomites. So my thoughts are a little wide spread on this subject but all the thoughts hold clues to any single given task or research area, which is looking for answers or solutions. Perhaps we need more research here and should think on this in 2006.

The story of the Hebrew people in Egypt is told in the Old Testament and the Passover Haggadah, primarily as regards miracles being performed to achieve their escape from slavery – miracles of the “Ten Plagues” and of Moses splitting the Red Sea during the Exodus. The saga of Hebrew-Israelites in Egypt begins with Joseph – sold by his ten older brothers, angry at his arrogance – to itinerant Ishmaelites, who resell him into slavery in Egypt. Through his abilities at dream-interpretation and subsequently at executive administration, Joseph eventually is appointed vizier (second in authority) to Pharaoh, and through enforced hoarding of grain through seven bountiful years (building storage cities), saves Egypt, the entire Mid-East and the Hebrews from famine. (Extra-biblical source, “It was during the reign of Djoser that Egypt became a great power .. great riches .. accumulated .. grain sold .. years of famine .. “.) Joseph then brings his brothers and father plus their families (totaling seventy) to Egypt, where the sojourn of Hebrews in Egypt begins. Centuries later, a Pharaoh “who knew not Joseph”, concerned that their high birth rate could become a threat, enslaves them, then institutes drownings of male-babies – and the chapter of Moses begins.

There are many extra-biblical Egyptian references giving credence to the above story:

1. Slaves building monuments in Egypt – Papyrus, Leiden #348, “Distribute grain to the Habirus (or Apiru – Hebrews) who carry stones to the great pylon of Rameses,” Mural paintings indicate starving men with prominent spavined ribs.)
2. An Austrian dig of dwellings and tombs at Tel-ed-Daba, Egypt, in 1989, discovered ancient cities near Goshen. Data from 800 drill cores gave evidence of a large number of Asian, non-Egyptian slaves; eleven levels at the site indicate many generations during the 12th and 13th Egyptian dynasties {compatible in duration and time period to the Biblical history of the Hebrew sojourn as slaves in Egypt}:
3. The Brooklyn Papyrus 35.1446, tells of the reign of Pharaoh Sobekhotep, containing over 95 names of slaves, more than half are Semitic, seven being Biblical names {including the name of one of the two midwives named in the Bible, “Shiphrah”},
4. In direct conformity with the Bible {the killing of male Hebrew babies – infant Moses is saved by Egyptian princess} was the discovery of unusual demographic burial data at Tel-ed-Daba – 65% of the graves were of babies less than 18 months old, compared to a normal percentage of 20-30%. In addition there were far more graves of adult females than of males (conforming to male infants being killed at birth.);
5. Historians of the 300 BC era, Eusebies and Artapanus, with ancient records from the library at Alexandria, tell of Mouses {Moses}, an Egyptian prince who led a military campaign against Ethiopia. The Roman historian, Josephus and a stela fragment in the British Museum, indicate such an event occurred during the reign of Pharaoh Khenepres-Sobekhotep. Also supporting the story of the military campaign by Moses was a statue of Sobekhotep {Moses’ stepfather} found on the island of Argo, proving that Egyptian conquest and authority extended to 200 kilometers from Egypt. Egyptian historians wrote that Mouses’ fame caused Sobekhotep to target him {causing him to flee from Egypt to Midian – as in the Bible story, however, the Bible and the Jewish Haggadah say the cause was Moses killing an Egyptian slave-driver who was beating a Hebrew};
6. The Pharaoh of the Exodus is identified as King Dudimose, 36th ruler of the 13th Dynasty. {The Bible describes him as, “Pharaoh who knew not Joseph”}.
7. M. Bietek, in his dig at Tel ed-Baba, which he dated to the middle of the 14th Dynasty, found shallow mass graves all over the city of Avaris – clear evidence of some type of sudden major and widespread catastrophe {not unlike what would result from a biblical “Tenth Plague”, death of all first-born}. In addition, site-archaeology suggests that the remaining population had abandoned their homes quickly and en masse;
8. Information from the extra-biblical source of Josephus, a Roman historian born a Jew – who aided Titus in his conquest of Jerusalem in 67 AD, and was then, as a reward, given the Temple Scrolls – quotes Monetho, an Egyptian priest, circa 300 BC, regarding the “easy” conquest of mighty Egypt by the Hyksos. {Bible – Egypt’s loss of its entire army of 600 chariots and charioteers at the Red Sea seems a reasonable explanation}.
9. A highly important extra-biblical source of corroborative detail to many of the narratives of the ten-plagues and the Exodus events of both Bible and Hebrew-Passover-Haggadah, is the Ipuwer Papyrus Scroll – Leiden 344. Found in Egypt in the early 19th century, it was taken to the Leiden Museum in Holland where it remains. Described in many books about ancient Egypt, it is a papyrus scroll over twelve feet in length, called “Admonitions of Ipuwer”. It was written during the 19th dynasty (the Middle Kingdom period) by a scribe/historian named Ipuwer, and interpreted in 1909 by A. H. Gardiner. The scroll describes violent events in Egypt which seem to parallel the Biblical ten plagues and the Exodus story – it seems a description of a society in total crisis, providing, in essence, an eyewitness account of extreme and unusual occurrences:
   • “What the ancestors had foretold has happened”, (Imhotep/Joseph, approximately 260 years earlier, had foretold the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt.) {Gen. 50:24-26}
   • “We don’t know what has happened in the land.”
   • “The river is blood .. there is blood everywhere, no shortage of death .. many dead are buried in the river .. lacking are grain, charcoal .. trees are felled .. food is lacking .. great hunger and suffering”. {The first plague};
   • “destruction of grain” {The plague of hail or locusts};
   • “animals moaning and roaming freely”;
   • “darkness” {The ninth plague};
   • Deaths of the “children of princes, prisoners, brothers” {The tenth plague, deaths of all the first-born};
   • “Gone is what yesterday has seen. See now, the land is deprived of kingship. See, all the ranks, they are not in their place .. like a herd that roams without a herdsman.”
   • “Poor .. have become .. of wealth .. Gold and lapis lazuli, silver and malachite, carnelian and bronze are strung on to the necks of female slaves.” {“…and they requested from the Egyptians, silver and gold articles. And God made the Egyptians favor them and they granted their request.” Ex. 12:35-36};
   • “See, he who slept wifeless found a noblewoman .. “are no more”.” (This, written long afterwards, obviously describes conditions after the loss of the Egyptian army and the upper-class male officers. Note: This also supports the request of the “royal” widow of Pharaoh, lost in the Red Sea, in a remarkable Amarna letter to the King of the neighboring Hittites, asking for one of his sons to become her new husband.
