Television News Vs Internet News

Television is another medium of news and current affairs in any country or locality; more often news is being brought live and real time. However, internet can also bring such advantages for news viewers and readers. Aside from full articles on popular news, there are websites which enable viewers to watch news like what they can find on TV.

Are there any advantages of having one over the other?

Does TV offer something which the Internet cannot provide?

Which will you choose Internet News or the TV News?

Let us try to go into the two aspects that both news media can offer…

Credibility

TV Credibility – all news brought by the television are being reported by real journalists who are working for the network. All of which are taken from real accounts of people or situations who are the subjects of the reports. Thus, reports are credible as well as the reporters and subjects. Therefore, when you are watching a TV report, you can be assured that the contents are true.

Internet Credibility – blogging made bloggers another type of journalists bringing different kinds of news written in such a way to reflect the opinion of the people who have witnessed the situations on first account or to reflect their own way of speaking. Although, there are real paid journalist writers but they are so few to compose a small percentage in Internet journalism. Thus, you will not be surprised to read some news which cannot really pass the standards of real journalism.

Freshness

TV News – most of the news broadcasts on TV are fresh or just recently happened. Television networks are so keen with the latest happenings in the community or country. They even have contacts inside police stations to be able to dig the records of people who are subjects of their news. This is just a good indication that TV news are fresh and delivered just moments away from the time they happened.

Internet News – while there are millions of bloggers around the world, they keep watch on the latest and most recent news that happened around the world. More often than not, bloggers also get their stories from the TV or newspapers; you can call these kinds of news second hand because they have been delivered in other media. Most of the news forums are built from news networks; TV networks build their own websites to deliver fresh news to online readers.

Why do we have to consider these two aspects when reading news?

First off, credibility is important because everybody do not want to read news which may not be true or wrong is some aspects. News readers read news because they wanted to know what really happened, how it happened or when it happened. So, why not make sure you are reading the correct and credible news?

Secondly, fresh news sell better than older ones. Most of the people prefer to read most recent news over those which happened last year. The point is, you want to know what is happening today than what already happened, right?

College Football News and Recruiting

One of the most popular games in the United States today is known as American football, which has its origins in college football. Many students follow the latest college football news and participate in college football polls. Many likewise participate in try outs for a chance to play in college teams.

The goal is to score points by getting the ball into the opposing team’s court, or end zone. The team who does this gets a touchdown, which is worth 6 points. After a touchdown, the team is afforded the chance to kick the ball through the goal posts to get an extra point. However, they also have the option of trying to get the ball into the opponent’s end zone again by using a running or passing play instead of kicking the ball. If this works, they get two more points instead of just one. This option is much harder, of course.

A field goal is worth is worth 3 points.

The football field measures 100 yards in length and 160 feet in width. The middle of the field is known as the 50 yard line. The lines are marked every 10 yards in descending order in both directions from the 50 yard line. Each team has half of the field, (switching sides every 15 minutes of play. The “zero yard line” is also called the goal line. The areas on either side are called the end zones. Both teams endeavor to get the ball beyond the opponent’s goal line and into the end zone to score a touchdown. Located at far edge of each end zone are the goal posts. These are used whenever a team decides to kick a field goal instead of going for a touchdown, or opt for an extra point after scoring said touchdown. Unlike international football (soccer), the ball needs to go over the bar in order to make a valid score.

Fans routinely keep track on college football news regarding their favorite teams and look up college football polls. The Internet has proven to be an important and indispensable venue for both fans and players to exchange information on college football news and college football polls. D1Athletes offers them a place to build an online presence and interact in online communities.

Facts About Online News

It has created a lot of opportunities for the newspapers to provide breaking news more timely. In this way they can compete with the broadcast journalism. Online newspapers are also cost effective compared to the printed-newspapers. Online newspapers follow the same legal regulations of the printed-newspapers. Online publications are known to reap larger rewards than the printed publications. It can draw larger traffics compared to the printed publications.

Many news reporters are taught to shoot videos and to write news stories that can be published in the online publication also. In many journalism institutions students are being taught about the online publications and online newspapers along with the printed newspapers. Some newspapers have already integrated the internet into each and every aspect of their operations. The classified advertisements are now also being published in both the printed newspapers as well as online newspapers. In today’s scenario it would be difficult to find a newspaper company without a website. With the declining profit margins from the printed newspapers they have explored every corner to get higher profit margins from the websites. Most of the online news-papers do not charge any subscription fee. Some of the news-papers have come with a new version of newspapers that is called E-paper. These E-papers are regarded as the digital replicas of the printed news-papers.

There are also some newspaper companies who provide only the online version of the news-paper. They don’t have any connection with the printed newspapers. These news-papers are recognized by many media groups which makes them different from blog sites. Some of the leading news-papers company which has been operational in printed media for over 100 years have been stopped their printed newspapers and are running on only online news-papers. There are newspapers companies who have only online news-papers but also provide limited publishing or hard copies. These news-papers are called hybrid news-papers. Recent development in electronic news-papers may force some of the newspapers companies to supplement electronic papers too.

Today, you will also come across online news portals that will deliver exam news and short news on the most significant happenings in the country or the world.

Racing News – A Global Trend

Being in New York, I see many people play racing video games, but never keep up with the racing news. If you were to live in Manhattan, it would never be noticed: people prefer sports such as baseball and football as opposed to motorsports or most vehicular types of sports. It is rare to find any news about any events in New York unless you hear about a bad crash on the tracks. To find more fans and information other than the internet, you need only look to places outside of New York.

While I was in Chattanooga on a business trip, I was pleasantly surprised to see what avid race fans they were and how many news stations were reporting all the hot racing news. Any sports bar I went to had at least one race being aired and the passion for the sport was unbelievable; it could be felt through the air.

After doing some research, I learned that Japan as well as many European nations such as Italy can be very passionate about racing as well. In their sports channel news, it is not uncommon to see them bring up the major racing events of the day. Japan however often speaks primarily of drift racing where it is an extremely popular motorsport.

It was good to see in my travels that even though New York may not have a large fan base, there are still many other groups worldwide who enjoy hearing racing news and love motorsports as much as I do.

Bed Bugs Aren’t In The News Anymore – Why Is That?

Bed bugs were the Freak-Out Flavor of the Month a few years ago. But you don’t seem to hear much about them now. Why is that?

Primarily because those who influence the news stories don’t stand to make a lot of money from them. What? Isn’t news, news? Not really and here is the truth behind bed bugs.

These small blood suckers have been a pest of humankind for centuries. Once the details of life were documented with regularity, these pests were discussed frequently. Fossilized bed bugs date back 3500 years so clearly, they are a part of Man’s history.

With the invention of DDT, bed bugs within modernized countries were basically wiped out. The DDT controlled them easily and they were considered all but gone. DDT was an extremely toxic, life-altering, synthetic chemical developed by scientists using leftover technology from World War II. It killed massive amounts of pests and was heralded as a marvelous invention (the inventor even won the Nobel Prize for Medicine!). But after several years of use, the truth came out…

DDT was slowly killing the environment. Not just ‘pests’ but wildlife. Streams, rivers, and reservoirs were being tainted. Eagles were pushed to the brink of extinction. Earth was being poisoned, and concerned people demanded it be ‘banned’. (The quotations are because DDT is still being manufactured and used in Third World Countries… but we digress.)

In its place, a gazillion types of chemicals were created, all slightly different. But eventually, ALL synthetic pesticides became worthless in the fight against pests. Even DDT.

That is due to a scientific phenomenon known as “Pesticide Resistance” which states that eventually, insects will become immune to the effects of synthetic pesticides. If the product used to control pests is man-made and not a product of Nature, then after time it will lose the pest control ability. Synthetic pesticides – including DDT – are no longer capable of controlling bed bugs.

Now the bed bug population is growing… exponentially! No place is safe from these human parasites. Anywhere people are is an opportunity to get them. They are everywhere!

Then why aren’t we hearing about this in the news anymore?! Why don’t we read grotesque stories of infestations, pitiful living conditions, and unsuspecting victims?

Because there is no one fanning the flames of panic that stands to benefit. Big Chemical pesticide manufacturing companies have the deep pockets to stir up the panic pot yet they have no options to control bed bugs. Without a concentrated effort to bring an issue to national attention, it is a non-issue.

But just ask someone with a bed bug infestation if they are a non-issue. Uh, nope. And people really want solutions!

I Stack Silver: The News Is A Lie

I Stack Silver Because The News Is A Lie

I stack silver because it is common sense. A person would have to live in a bubble to ignore the events we see and hear every day. I have learned that mainstream news is nothing but propaganda. A person only has to observe the way different news channels report the same story. If you watch a news report on one news channel it is completely different from what is reported on another channel. What I have found is that news channels are like listening to a radio station for music. We choose to only tune in to what we agree with. The news company a person chooses to use usually just fits the viewpoint a person wants to hear. I stack silver because the news is a lie.

There is No News With The Truth and There Is No Truth With The News

If you hate Trump you listen to a hate Trump ‘news’ channel. If you love Trump you don’t tune into those channels. A Trump lover will watch ‘news’ reports from ‘news’ outlets that report love Trump-themed reports. Regardless of your political opinion, most people will agree that there are agenda-driven ‘news’ stations.

You definitely will not find your reason to stack silver on mainstream outlets because it is all literally propaganda. Sadly many people get their ‘news’ from social media websites to make matters much worse. There really is no truthful news organization. What the American public, and the world, see is merely an agenda-driven machine. That machine will convince you that silver is a horrible investment. The average American will tell you that although silver has value they believe it is not money.

The News Is A Joke

I am NOT a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. Yet, it is common knowledge that the media is controlled. There are hidden forces that promote the agenda of the powers that are controlling all aspects of American life. I will not debate this opinion because reality is everywhere. Schools, books, social media, television shows… I stack silver simply because what I see on the news is not based on reality.

The entire world media is an agenda-driven machine. Once I started to peel away agenda-driven motives what I saw woke me up… My desire to stack silver has grown because I see what is coming through the prism of history. You can dismiss me as a loon and if you do I really do not care. But you owe it to yourself, and your family to at least do some open-minded thinking for yourself. Study economic history. Look at The Weimar Republic. Take a moment and look at how The Roman Empire collapsed when they debased their currency. Dismiss me if you want but you can’t dismiss history.

My obsession for silver stacking began with my first hearing the phrase fiat currency.

I Stack Silver Because of History

All things started to fall into place when I randomly watched the 10 part series The Hidden Secrets of Money from Mike Maloney. This series of videos are very well made and explains the US Dollar through the prism of history. What I learned not only shocked the heck out of me… it changed my entire daily life. The content of the video (and the entire series) shocked my consciousness. Once I started to see how history has played out I realized I have been a working shlep from the time I started many years ago. The entire financial system has been rigged against all of us citizen peasants. Simple little facts like inflation are a lie. Inflation is not ‘normal’. It is manufactured to keep the U.S. dollar alive and make the wealthy even wealthier. Inflation is merely a silent tax that makes the top 1% of the wealth in America stay in the top 1%. When I say this out loud many people say I am just crazy. A ‘conspiracy person’. Yet Voltaire said this and he lived over 300 years ago. Silver was around thousands of years before he made the famous statement..

Voltaire Quote

“Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value: zero”

Soon history will repeat itself once the dollar crashes. Hyperinflation may have already taken hold and the end has begun. The looming reset could be today or many days from now. The hidden truth is that it cannot be stopped. World debt is just too large and society too corrupt. I used to think only America was bankrupt but it is the entire financial system of every nation on the globe. History shows us that a fiat currency cannot survive. History also shows us that the American financial system is about to experience another reset. I agree with what I heard Mike Maloney say yesterday. What will happen to the price of silver will be “between astronomical and infinity”.

History Is Coming Again

A top reason I stack silver is that I have learned that the United States of America is controlled by a small group of wealthy individuals. You can roll your eyes and dismiss but that is your choice. I know what will happen when the dollar crashes and it is going to crash.

We just do not know when the dollar will crash. I stack silver to survive when that time comes. I hope I have time to stack more silver, but nobody knows when the hour will arrive. I have heard that you can’t eat silver which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. My simple response is that I stack silver and I store food and water.

I stack silver because I did my research and the truth is right before our eyes. The sad part is that most people simply dismiss it and do zero research. The ‘truth’ is merely accepted and the march of daily life moves forward. John Q. Public watches the news and swallows the storyline and continues on with their day. I wonder if American Idol will be on again? (Bread and Circus)

The #1 reason I stack silver is that I not only see having silver as a way to survive but also to thrive once the reset happens. And the reset will happen.

NUDE News: A New Perspective On The News

Somebody has to do something, and it is just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us. Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead

Americans are not doing well. Nearly two-thirds are too heavy, underfit and over-medicated. Most are way too dependent on physicians, prescriptions, pundits and preachers. People are too little resistant to baloney and superstition but overly resistant to science, reason, responsibility and the fine art of living well. In short, things are out of whack and somebody has to do something. What’s to be done? By whom?

Well, the last part is easy — it may be just incredibly pathetic but the late, great guitarist of the Grateful Dead was right – it has to be us. But what? What’s to be done?

Well, there is no instant or near-term panacea, no single fix, no sweeping solution for the boundless attitudinal and behavioral problems that brought about the fixes we’re in. But, I do have a few reform ideas — and this essay deals with one of them.

I suggest a change in the way we get our news. A reform in this one area might be helpful in getting more people to realize that their health status and so much else is up to them. My idea is this: Give the people NUDE news.

No, I don’t mean NUDE as in naked, ala the bare Russian bimbos reading sports scores and such on slimy Internet shows, acting like Katie Couric or Barbara Walters or someone talented while wearing nothing, an obvious ploy to trap and weak-minded males to tune in. This is exploitative, disgusting and one more example of women taking advantage of naive, innocent guys. However, it’s not at all the nature of my call for NUDE news.

NUDE is an acronym for news you deserve everyday. The focus of news you deserve everyday is upon content, not appearance.

NUDE news would present stories about people, places and things, changes and themes that connect with the reality of Americans not living or aging well. Of course, not all news would fit this connection, but time would be set aside if my idea were implemented for news that relates to people struggling in being too heavy, underfit and over-medicated. It’s a huge crisis — the media should not ignore Americ’s disabling dependencies. The citizenry deserves NUDE news –everyday.

While every news story need not address reforms for an unhealthy population (i.e., REAL wellness skills based upon secular, rational and positive outcome associated facts), I’d certainly like to hear a few such in most broadcasts. It could be called something like, NUDE news now — breaking news you deserve today. Such programming would be refreshing and highly appreciated by the converted, the savants of REAL wellness. The latter would be nice and good for the station’s that want to add viewers, but the most important consequence would derive from the boosts to the health and sanity of the viewing audience.

In his book, The Assault on Reason, former Vice-President Al Gore identified two kinds of pollution — that of our planet and of our politics and culture. A New York Times reviewer called Mr. Gore’s two-part focus, an obsession with the toxicity of the atmosphere and the toxicity of the public sphere. Well, I think Mr. Gore and others should also focus upon (or obsess about) the pollution and toxicity of worseness lifestyles, that is, the fact that Americans are too heavy, underfit and over-medicated.

But until they do, I will. That’s why I’m calling for NUDE news.

REAL wellness values are not the norm, as most will readily acknowledge. The reality is that daily news reporting is geared to bad news, problems, not inspirational wellness solutions. A NUDE perspective would modify that situation – such newscasts would include reflections on how things might be, from a healthier, saner point of view.

Of course, some shows are exceptional, offering unique versions of NUDE news. Saturday Night Live, The Rachel Maddow Show and Stephen Colbert, for instance. These shows provide daily wellness perspectives. All serve up invaluable wellness qualities — they are veritable gold mines of doubt, skepticism, reason, ethical insights and, of course, humor. Imagine how desirable it would be if such wellness perspectives were represented in network news programming.B esides the educational value, more folks would become better informed, more skeptical and wiser about the world around them and what they might do for themselves and others to become healthier and happier.

Here’s an example of how NUDE reporting might work. An organization called Epocrates conducted a survey of 580 physicians in 2007. A summary report of the findings revealed that physicians consider obesity, chronic disease and smoking to be the top three public health issues in the U.S.

That’s a normal news item. If it were NUDE news, a commentary would follow that introduced a REAL wellness perspective that challenged the limited analysis of the data, the focus of the 580 physicians. The physicians may have been well intended but they were shortsighted — they missed the three top issues, namely:

1. The absence of a culture that makes everyone aware and supportive of positive wellness choices that lead to habits that prevent obesity, lower risk of chronic disease and make smoking almost an unthinkable form of self-ruin.

2. The presence of educational systems that teach what, not how to think; and

3. Poor leadership, particularly from politicians who fail to enact effective and efficient policies.

On the third point, the charge here is that politicians ill serve taxpayers by funding wretched programs that are wasteful and have adverse consequences. Thus, many programs do vastly more harm than good. Think homeland security, the war on drugs, subsidy of the pharmaceutical industry, abstinence-only sex education, faith-based public funding, the misappropriation scandal called earmarks and, horror of horrors, the continued folly of our seemingly endless involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq.

There you go. A dollop of NUDE news.

News Junkies Need Wireless Internet

In this plugged in world it seems as if everything is on a very fast news cycle. We are now able to know more about the world than ever before, and know it as fast as information travels. Through the power of online newspapers, blogs and video webcasts we are now able to increase our knowledge of the world and engage more with folks from other places. In order to get this level of knowledge about the world, however, folks will need to make sure that they have an internet connection that is powerful enough to handle the job at hand. With a mobile wimax connection, you will literally have the world at your fingertips and you will be able to get all the news that you can handle.

One of the greatest developments of the past decade is the rise of blogs. Through blogging, pretty much everyone is able to comment on the state of the world and share their views from wherever they may be. This has already been a major development. When folks are on the ground witnessing a major catastrophe blogs and social media have been the engines that have been able to get the word out. Once the spread starts, the internet tidal wave takes over. If you are interested in catching news as it breaks, then it is important to make sure that you have a 4G connection that is powerful to pick up on all forms of media.

Many award winning sites take advantage of video to help tell the news story. This really personalizes the news and allows folks to feel as if they are there. When news breaks, the ubiquitous cell phone camera is able to capture it. As soon as it is uploaded, news can travel around the world. Many folks who are fans of the news are making sure that their wireless internet connection is powerful enough to handle video. There is nothing worse than realizing that what you are trying to watch is impossible because of a slow connection.

The best newspapers in the world are taking advantage of this and are integrating all different kinds of media in order to tell a news story that is complete and exciting. If you want to take advantage of this and get a news experience that is far superior to the news experiences of generations past, then you need to make sure that you have the appropriate technology to be able to do so. With mobile wimax you will be able to access and connect to all of the award winning journalism that is out there. If you have ever wanted to learn more about different parts of the world, then this is the technology for you to be able to do so.

Fortunately, now is an excellent time to begin an investigation into which wireless internet connection is right for you. The cost for this has never been lower. If you call or email today you will be set up in no time.

World Trade News

During the past week, the world has witnessed a series of events that influenced the various sectors of the growing global economy. On one hand, some events promised more developments and expansion not only in the international trade but also in specific countries. On the other hand, some occurrences may negatively impact or alter certain aspects of world trade including the economy of the country specifically involved.

Oil Price Rolls Back in the World market

The entire week is full of good news for oil importers worldwide. Since Monday, the oil price decreased by $2 per barrel in the world market. Prior to that, the value of oil kept on increasing due to the disruption of supply in Iraq as well as in Nigeria. According to the report by Mohamed El Baradei, director of International Atomic Energy Agency, Iraq has been planning to empower its production of nuclear fuel. The news has caused tension and raised concerns regarding nuclear weapons. Discussion about the issue is currently ongoing. The IAEA will talk about the subject on its scheduled meeting on March 6. After which, the report will be handed to the U.N security for final assessment.

The almost $2 decrease of oil price in the world market was caused by a failed terrorist attack that took place at the largest oil plant in Saudi. The situation though was immediately controlled by the Saudi forces that were roused to full alert because of the tension. The oil supply though was not disrupted within the country despite the attack. The value of light crude oil decreased by $1.91 while the price of brent crude oil lowered to $1.61.

The opposite situation, however, is taking place in Nigeria. Just recently, the oil price rose up to more than $2 per barrel. The sudden increase was influenced by the news of the Saudi terrorist attack. Moreover, another reason was oil supply within the Nigerian region was cut by 13,000 barrels per day due to the discovery of a leak. The series of militant threats and attacks within the region also prompted the increase of the oil price.

According to energy analysts, the improvement of the oil price in the world market would have been even better. However, there are several factors (like the focus of the oil market on short-term inventory data) that prevent more positive results. Currently, the oil price still remains close to $61 per barrel as a result of Algeria’s plea to OPEC for market stability.

Meanwhile, Shell, which is the third leading oil company, has gained a total of $23 B profit last year. This should be an enough reason to celebrate, but the huge oil company is currently facing the need to improve and expand its oil resources. Otherwise, it will run out off supply in the future. According to reports, Shell was only able to replace between 60% – 70% of the gas it used for production last year. In 2004, the percentage was even lower with only 19% or replacement.

Shell, however, is making use of its large assets in order to meet the stiff market competition. Its oil reserve projects located in Nigeria, Sakhalin Island, and Gulf of Mexico are currently underway. The success of these projects would definitely empower the company’s future possibilities.

Regions in the U.S particularly East Coast and Nigeria are also facing issues with regard to their oil supply. This problem may eventually result to changes in the price of fuel. This situation is primarily caused by the shift in the chemical used in the fuel refining process. Formerly, MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether) was used during the process. The use of MTBE, nevertheless, led to problems and protests regarding water pollution and the contamination of water supply. As an alternative, fuel companies in the U.S particularly in the East Coast and Texas are utilizing ethanol. The problem though is that ethanol is not abundantly produced within the country. Moreover, the fuel refining needs are greater than the amount of reserve available. As a solution, the U.S government is currently importing ethanol from Brazil while it continues to construct more ethanol plants within the country.

The campaign for energy independence in the U.S is also receiving negative feedbacks. Critics such as Tom Friedman of The New York Times commented that the government should focus on other more relevant issues aside from it. The claim that while energy independence may be motivated by noble purposes, it might not be the wisest move now. The government should look for other more practical alternatives. Besides, the big budget energy independence demands could be allotted to the other sectors of the economy and government.

The Various Auto Companies Continue to Grow and Expand in the World market.

The discussion regarding oils issues leads us to another important area, which is the car industry. Generally, auto companies reported notable developments and expansions during this week. Last Wednesday, Nanjing Automobile acquired the MG Rover plant at Longbridge, England for a 33 year lease from St. Modwen Properties Plc. The leading Chinese auto maker is said to have paid 1.8 M pounds for the 105 acre factory. Nanjing surprised the global car industry last July 2005 when it bought MG rover for around 53 M pounds thus outbidding its fellow Chinese competitor, Shanghai Automotive Corp. The big move is part of the company’s vision to become one of the leading car brands in the world.

Honda Motors Co. is also getting more attention form the international auto market after it disclosed its plans to produce a hybrid yet low priced version of its Fit subcompact. The car maker intends to release the hybrid design next year. Honda representatives, nevertheless, clarified that the hybrid technology will be distributed only at a lower scale. This is due to the design’s very expensive production cost. However, Honda is also developing smaller battery and motors that would help reduce the hybrid cost in the future. This venture is part of Honda’s goal to beat the problem of high-gasoline consumption through specially designed automobiles. Aside from Honda, other companies that have joined the market for hybrid cars are Ford and Toyota.

Based on its recent report, Ford Motor Co. has dropped down in its sales by 4% last month. Another company that has followed the same trend is General Motors. According to GM, its sales also decreased by 2.5%. Meanwhile, the total sales of both Toyota and DaimlerChrysler continued to improve this year. Particularly, the Chrysler Group jumped in its sales by 3% of around 190,367 cars. Some of the most popular automobiles sold by the company are: Dodge automobiles, Chrysler, and Jeep. Chrysler’s Mercedes-Benz also improved by 28%. Toyota reported that its sales within the U.S alone rose by 2.4% to around 166,940 cars last February.

Although Ford’s sales on Jaguar have decreased last year, the auto maker declared that it has no plans of selling Jaguar. Ford bought the famous car brand back in 1989 for around 1.6B pounds. This year, the car company is positive that Jaguar sales is going to recover and improve. Ford is also set to release a new car model that would be hitting Europe soon. This is part of its strategy to keep up with the strong competition against other auto giants especially those that come from Asia.

As part of its move to recover from its losses, General Motors officially tasked Jerry York as its newest member of the board. York is noted for its remarkable achievements at Chrysler and IBM. Although GM has been receiving negative feedbacks lately, York is positive that the company is going to recover. During his January speech, he proposed five things to the GM management: first, to make the expectation of revenue and cost more realistic; second, reduction of product offerings; third, review the whole company with an unbiased perspective; fourth, focus on core businesses; fifth, set a clear vision for the company.

Several Computer Companies Seek for Expansion

In terms of technology, Intel Corp. recently got the official permission from Vietnam in order to construct a microchip plant within its territory. Earlier, the leading microchip company, proposed the $605M project, which will be built at Ho Chi Minh city. Vietnam would surely benefit from the budget since the project is expected to attract more foreign investors in the country.

Meanwhile, Lenovo computer company has announced its plans to release computers that bear the company’s name. Lenovo computers formerly carried the logo of IBM. The company stated that the move is part of its plans to establish itself in the worldwide market of computer technology.

Just recently, Apple computers invited several analysts and new reporters to its Cupertino base in order to check out its so-called “new and fun products.” So what’s up with the big bang? Rumor has it that Apple is intending to expand its technological products into Hollywood. Apparently, its iTunes has been contributing to the promotion of many TV programs. Again, there’s a possibility that the latest rumors could again turn out to be wrong. Yet then invitation given by Apple is surely a good sign that the company is up of a big bang of a surprise for everyone.

As part of China’s vision to improve its local technological industries, Vice Premier Wu Yi vowed last Thursday to strengthen the fight against illegal copying of softwares, music, and videos. Piracy has been a growing problem in the country for years. Despite several attempts to combat it, the problem continues to spread. In fact, piracy in China has roused international complaints including the report made by Washington. Now, the Vice Premier pledged to strengthen the battle against piracy not only as a response to these foreign complaints, but also as part of China’s goal to improve its local technology.

More Developments in Various Sectors to Boost Global Trade

Just recently, Morgan Stanley decided to invest around $68 M to Mantri Developers Private Ltd. which is a property development company based in Bangalore, India. The decision is part of Morgan Stanley’s plan of venturing into the global stream of real estate. At the same time the investment, would also help Mantri in its plans for national expansion. Real estate is currently booming in India due to the increasing demands for housing projects and office buildings. This economic rise is also attracting many foreign investors now.

In terms of health, Roche finally got the approval from the U.S drug regulatory board to release Rituxan as the newest drug to treat rheumatoid arthritis. The approval of the new medicine does not only promise more profit on the part of Roche, but it gives likewise hope for the patients who have not responded to other standard treatments of rheumatoid arthritis.

U.S faces Several Economic Concerns

Based on the latest report, the trade gap between exports and imports in the U.S has increased during the past year from 18% – 75% of a trillion dollar. This is due to the fact that American consumers have continued to demand for more imported products such as oil, vehicles, and other goods. According to analysts, only a 57% increase in exports can bridge the gap. It must be noted the U.S. is a leading exporter in certain goods such as aircraft.
