The Different Types Of Internet Consulting Services And Their Advantages

Internet consulting services can help businesses in many ways. Firms that offer these services employ professionals and can do anything from website design to increasing conversion rates. Other consulting services include strengthening a company’s online presence and marketing a website or products online. There are many benefits of hiring a consulting firm and taking advantage of all the consulting services they offer.

Increasing Conversion Rates

A company has a website for a variety of reasons. Most companies like to sell their products and services online so they can increase their customer base and their profits. It can be very difficult to prompt a potential customer to purchase a product on a website. Internet consulting firms offer services such as increasing conversion rates.

They have the tools and experience necessary to convert a person who is simply browsing a site into a customer. The more people who purchase products or services from a company’s website, the higher the company’s profits will be. E-commerce websites that don’t help a company succeed are only hindering it and are not worth the money, time, and effort. By using the many services provided by internet consulting firms, e-commerce websites become a worthy investment.

Strengthening a Company’s Online Presence

Businesses won’t get as much traffic to their website or customers at their stores if they have a weak online presence. It can be difficult to figure out how to create a strong online presence. Consulting firms offer services that include strengthening a company’s online presence and spreading the word about the company’s website and products online.

The consulting firm will utilize social media websites to market a business and its products, and they can create a professional business blog to help businesses connect with potential customers. By creating a blog and using social media, businesses will get the exposure they need, and traffic to their website will increase as a result.

Saving Money

Businesses that want to be successful online will have to invest in a plethora of tools and books to give them the ability and knowledge they need to help their business. Purchasing software, books, and other items can cost a lot of money, and even with all of these tools, success is not guaranteed. By using consulting services, people can spend a lot less money, and they’ll be able to hire professionals that will do a much better job.

Website Design

Another service offered by internet consulting firms is website design. Websites are a crucial part of a company’s online presence. A website that is badly designed will deter users from browsing the site and purchasing items or services. Websites need to look professional, and they need to be easy to navigate. By using an internet consultant firm’s web design services, businesses can attract more customers with an easy-to-use, professional website that is appealing.

Being More Productive

Companies that attempt to manage their website and online marketing by themselves will waste valuable time that should be spent on other important aspects of their business. By using the services offered by internet consulting firms, businesses can concentrate on other important things like the quality of their products or customer service.

Internet consulting services have many advantages and can help businesses succeed online. There are many different services available to help businesses in every way.

Some Truths and Misconceptions About Internet Marketing

FINANCIAL FREEDOM! Those of us yearning to create a better life for ourselves strive to become financially free. There are several ways we can reach financially freedom; some involve luck and others involve dependence on others. However, there is a way that one can reach that plateau without relying on luck or direct help from others: TO BECOME YOUR OWN BOSS.

When you strive to become your own boss, you are taking your life into your own hands. Thus, there are several ways you can create a better life for yourself. The best way to start earning an income for yourself is ECOMMERCE. Why not? If you have a computer and internet access (where millions of people access daily), you have the initial tools to start earning online income. Once you create (or discover) a product or service you can market, you are on your way to financial freedom. Welcome to the world of INTERNET MARKETING.

For those who are familiar with internet marketing, you may find opportunities that tell you that you can “make money overnight” or they may tell you how easy it is to start earning $10k per month. Also, some of these opportunities will tell you that it’s “free” to start making money online. I want to discuss some of the misconceptions you may hear about Internet Marketing, and the truths about each of these misconceptions. Before I get into these misconceptions, I will illustrate an example of a misconception that I faced years ago when I was looking for a business opportunity.

The year was 1987, and I was a sophomore at Howard University in Washington, DC. At the time, my mother was paying some of my tuition. I received the rest from financial aid. I know it was hard on my mother to pay for my college education, so I wanted to find a way to help her with those expenses. After all, I ultimately wanted to be responsible for my own college education.

I am not able to remember where I saw the opportunity, but it was an ad that says MAKE MONEY BY STUFFING ENVELOPES. Of course at the time, the Internet was not available to the general public, so I had to send for the information via mail. About a week later, I received a letter in the mail. I started reading the letter, getting excited about the possibilities of making good money. I remembered some of the things that were mentioned in the letter:

First, it mentioned how easy it is to make money stuffing envelopes, and to get paid for it. Secondly, it would ask: HOW MANY ENVELOPES CAN YOU STUFF PER MONTH? 10? 50? 100? 300? Reading this, my excitement grew. “YES, I can stuff 300 envelopes or more.”

The next thing that the letter focused on is the amount of money you can make. I don’t exactly remember the amount, but the amount was in the ballpark of $2k to $5k per month.

The bottom line is… the letter focused on how much much you can make, which would get anyone excited about signing up. At the end of the letter, there was a price of about $24.95, which you would have to pay in order to start stuffing envelopes. I paid the fee, then sent off my order form. I was thinking to myself… not only will I be able to pay for my own college expenses, but I will be able to do some Christmas shopping during the holiday season.

When I got the report and I read it, my excitement suddenly turned to disappointment. After reading this report, I found out that I had to place ads in order to solicit others who want to stuff envelopes, then I would have to send interested parties the same letter I received previously, thus the term “Stuffing Envelopes”. In the report, it was suggested to place an ad in the National Inquirer. When I bought the National Inquirer, you wouldn’t believe how many STUFFING ENVELOPES ads I saw. There were HUNDREDS of ads. UGGHHH!!!!!

The stuffing envelope scheme was an example of a chain letter scam. Such tactics would be illegal in this day and age, but at that time, there were quite a few of these business scams. Deception is the name of the game with these opportunities. You convince whomever is reading your letter how much money they can make without discussing the details, put a price on it, and after the prospects pay, you reveal the truth about what is offered. Unfortunately, many business opportunities today use the same tactics. Many of them tell you what you want to hear as far as making a lot of money, and they tell you how easy it is to make that money. After you pay the fee, or opt in to receive emails, you get the truth about the opportunity. In my opinion, this deception is one of the reasons why many people who want to become Internet Marketers fail before they can get started. When a person who is striving to become his/her own boss comes across a business opportunity that deceives them, thus saying one thing, then after you pay or opt in, saying something else, that can be discouraging to say the least.

Below, I listed 6 misconceptions about internet marketing, followed by the truths that accompany these misconceptions.

MISCONCEPTION #1: YOU CAN MAKE MONEY OVERNIGHT

The Misconception: This is probably the number one misconception one hears about Internet Marketing. Believe it or not, there are business opportunities out there that claim that you can make money “overnight”. When they say this, they don’t mean that you can literally make money overnight, but you can make it quickly.

The Truth: There are several ways you can make money overnight: 1) winning the lottery, 2) winning big at the casinos, 3) winning by betting on sports, and 4) Obtaining money from an inheritance. As far as making money overnight in internet marketing; that is, if you’re starting from scratch, it just doesn’t happen. No one goes from rags to riches overnight with internet marketing. The truth is, making money as an Internet Marketer is a slow and methodical process. Even our most prominent Internet Marketers will tell you that it took months, perhaps years before they even made any serious cash.

MISCONCEPTION #2: YOU CANNOT MAKE MONEY ONLINE

The Misconception: Before the Internet was available to the public, there were a lot of pyramid schemes and business practices that would be illegal today. Just the same, many people believe that most of the business opportunities online are not legitimate, thus making money online is nothing more than a fantasy.

The Truth: There are legitimate business opportunities online that can provide a nice income for you. As with any business venture, whether it’s online or otherwise, there are procedures you must follow if you want to be successful. In other words, you must treat your online business as you would any mom-and-pop store; you will have to build it, meaning that you will have to work! With time, (and with a little investment), you can make a substantial online income for yourself.

MISCONCEPTION #3: FREE… FREE… EVERYTHING’S FREE!!!!

The Misconception: When it comes to Internet Marketing, the one word you will see with most business opportunities is the word FREE. Some of these opportunities will claim that they can help you make money online, and they can do it for free.

The Truth: You will not be able to make $10k per month with an opportunity you received absolutely free. Many of these business opportunities will tell you that you can make a substantial income without coming out of your pocket, but only after you “opt in” (which means you signed up to receive future emails from them), you will then receive emails in which they will “upsell” to persuade you to pay for an offer in order to make money with the opportunity. The fact is, no business opportunity will make money by giving you something 100% free. Think about it. If you could earn $10k a month without spending a dime of your money, then there would be more successful Internet Marketers in the business.

MISCONCEPTION #4: “YOU CAN MAKE $1000 IN JUST 7 DAYS”

The Misconception: You’ve probably seen opportunities that claim that you can make a certain amount of money within a certain amount of time. Personally, I have seen videos in which people claim that they made over $1000 in one week after starting the opportunity.

The Truth: It may be possible for a seasoned Internet Marketer, who already has already built a business relationship with a large number of people (i.e. a large list of email subscribers) to start a new business opportunity and rake in at least a thousand dollars in a week. It could be possible to make that amount of money if you pay a lot of $$$ for advertising. In general, no one, and I mean NO ONE who is inexperienced in internet marketing will be able to generate that amount of cash in their first 7 days of promoting the business. The fact to the matter is, many of these business opportunities tend to exaggerate the earnings to persuade you to sign up. Any legitimate business should be telling you more about the opportunity itself and less about the money you could make.

MISCONCEPTION #5: “IT IS SO SIMPLE, EVEN A TEN-YEAR OLD CAN DO IT”

The Misconception: When a business opportunity says a ten-year old can work the business, this is telling you that you don’t have to put in a lot of effort to make money.

The Truth: If this statement were true, there would be far more Internet Marketers out there making a substantial income online. If a business opportunity was that simple, you wouldn’t have to go to college for 4 years to work for a Bachelor’s Degree. All you would have to do is to promote this business to make money. The truth is, no business opportunity is “simple”. You still will have to devote a lot of time and effort (and/or money) to make it grow and to start earning income.

MISCONCEPTION #6: “YOUR WEBSITE WILL BE SEEN BY THOUSANDS”

The Misconception: There are systems out there that claim they can help you receive a lot of traffic to your website or affiliate link.

The Truth: This is another exaggeration to get you to opt in or buy into their system. What they don’t tell you is that in order to get thousands of views to your website, you will have to pay… and even when you pay, it’s not guaranteed that you will get that many views on your website. Also, the views that you may get could be from other Internet Marketers who are looking to promote their website or affiliate link. The only true way of increasing traffic to your website is to pay for advertising.

Many of these business opportunities and systems will exaggerate or deceive you with their offers in order to get you to pay or opt in to their program. As an Internet Marketer, you should be aware that nothing will come easy as far as building a $10k per month enterprise. As with any business opportunity, you will have to earn your way to success, by putting in the time and effort to make the business grow. Utilizing the right tools, you will be successful.

Choosing the Ideal Internet Providers

There are many things to consider when you are choosing the best broadband option for you. The speed, the use, and experiences are just a few of the considerations that need to be taken. There is a lot to know about broadband. They should help you in the important decision. There are criteria that have to be considered. You have to think about allowances that have to do with the download as well as the length of the contract.

You have to determine the kind of user you are, for it is only then that you can track a package that will fulfill all the needs that you may have.

What kind of user you are

It is important to appreciate that every broadband is unique and is created as such for good reasons. There are many packages that one can select from and they include the standard broadband packages and the super-fast fiber. There are many things you should consider to find a product that meets and satisfies all requirements.

For beginners

If you are just starting out and are not sure what you intend to use the internet for, then you should try out the entry-level option service. As such, you will not have to pay so much for the super-fast speeds that you don’t even know whether you need or not. Simple tasks such as checking emails and a few YouTube clips should not take too much of your data.

As a beginner, it is better to play it safe. You can start out small and then work to better things as you define what you need. If you discover that you need a broadband product that is fast and higher priced, most providers may be willing to give you the upgrade. Downgrading from a higher package to a lower one is not allowed in most cases.

As you will note with different providers, there is always a low option package that appeals to beginners. It should not be too hard to find a package that will work out nicely for you if you are a beginner.

For TV buffs, gamers and movie lovers

If you are an HD movie lover and if you love TV, streaming services, then you should consider yourself a heavy user. You are also a heavy user if you love online gaming and if you love to stream and even download music. In such a case, make sure that you find a package that has a download limit that is unlimited. This means that you can enjoy the web without having to worry about running out of the allowance and attracting other extra catches or even having a slower connection imposed by a provider. Fiber broadband is ideal for the heavy users.

Broadband for families

Families are heavy users, especially where the household has teenagers who have known the web all their lives. When there are around four people using different kinds of web enabled gadgets and using the internet together, then you may end up using up your allowance and therefore the package chosen should be for heavy users.

How To Create Internet Income Fast

People today are able to create a lot more opportunities for themselves than ever before. The reason why this is true is because the internet allows it. You will find that this will take a little time to initially setup, but if you have a smartphone, then you have a digital camera that you can start to make simple videos with. You don’t need to say a lot, or film yourself doing a lot, you can just review certain things, and recommend products and services. You can get paid from YouTube views, but you can also get paid from other solutions as well.

Affiliate Marketing

The next solution that you can work on is simple enough, it’s affiliate marketing. This involves you promoting products and services to people. When they click your links, they will end up going forward and buying things. When they do that, you will receive a commission, and that’s amazing. Think about that for a moment. You could very well recommend a pair of shoes, and someone could buy them, and you’ll get paid.

Give Your Expertise

There are several sites that abound where you can help others. This includes sites like Fiverr, and Upwork.com, which allow you to bid on projects that you can do from home, and get paid out for your expertise. You can help people with writing, you can help with design, and so much more. If you are good at jut about anything, you can win big here. These sites let you use whatever you’re good at, to make money with your expertise. It’s simply a great option to explore, and something that you are not going to want to dismiss at all.

3 Weird But True Internet Laws

There are all kinds of internet laws; good ones, bad ones, and some that are just plain weird. The weird but true internet laws are what we are going to focus on today. These three laws come from all around the world, and can really make you shake your head in wonder at the sheer insanity of it all.

#1: It is illegal in the State of Tennessee (USA) to post/send “distressing” images using the internet

Yes, you heard that correctly. As of mid-2011 it is illegal to “transmit or display an image” anywhere online that is likely (yes, likely) to “frighten, intimidate, or cause emotional distress” to anyone who sees it. Yes, anyone, regardless of whether or not the person in question was the target of the image. This takes the crown for most ridiculous internet laws ever made! Under this law, anyone, from anywhere in the world, can see an image, and no matter what that image is depicting, or if the uploader even had an ulterior motive for posting it, if the image can be traced back to its user, they could face up to a year in jail and over two-thousand dollars in fines.

#2: It is illegal to own an “unregistered” modem in Burma

The Burmese government takes the internet very seriously… so much so that they have a stranglehold on internet access all throughout the country. Internet access is limited by means of hardware and software restrictions, i.e. unregistered modems. Visitors from outside of the country may bring a single laptop computer in with them, but it will have to be declared upon arrival, and it is safe to assume that every mouse click you make with it is being carefully watched.

#3: In Uxbridge, Ontario it’s illegal to have an internet connection faster than 56k!

This is a popular favorite online and can be validated in a number of places. This is one of those strange cases of severely out-dated laws that are still technically enforceable. It is comical to think of a place where it is illegal to have an internet connection that is faster than dial-up! Out of these three weird internet laws, this one has to win the award for most absurd.

And these are just the tip of the iceberg; there are many other strange but true internet laws on the books all around the world that make many people sit back and wonder what the heck these lawmakers were thinking when they wrote them and made them into law.

What Is the Internet of Things (Iot)

Smart connected devices, ubiquitous wireless connectivity and scalable cloud-based computing have created the platform for the Internet of Things (IoT). These IoT platforms are enabling organizations to monitor, control, optimize and automate their operations in ways that were previously unimaginable. In many industries, IoT is disrupting traditional business models causing companies to ask the fundamental.

This is leading to many private and public sector organizations asking how they can use IoT to create new sources of value. Some are using it to deliver new operational efficiencies. Remote asset management allows organizations to track assets in real-time and make much more efficient use of their field teams. Predictive maintenance reduces downtime by replacing parts before they fail. Real-time analytics help employees make better decisions. And smart IoT systems can automate repetitive and predictable processes.

IoT Systems

The Internet of Things extends internet connectivity beyond traditional devices like desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets to a diverse range of devices and everyday things that utilize embedded technology to communicate and interact with the external environment, all via the Internet.

But, for the moment, there’s a vast array of technology out there that can accurately be described as enabling IoT. Just at the networking level, there’s Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, ZigBee, RFID, Wi-Fi, cellular, Z-Wave, 6LowPAN, Thread, NFC, Sigfox, Neul, LoRaWAN, Alljoyn, IoTivity, Weave, Homekit, MQTT, CoAP, JSON-LD, and plenty more that can and do play a part in IoT implementations.

IoT Applications

IoT systems have application development across industries through their unique flexibility and ability to be suitable in any environment. They enhance data collection, automation, operations, and much more through smart devices and powerful enabling technology.

IoT is everywhere, but there are certainly a few verticals where it’s more prevalent. Heavy industry is arguably the sector that’s been working with IoT concepts for the longest, thanks to SCADA and robotics, and it’s got its own sub-type of IoT – industrial IoT, or frequently just IIoT. Sharing data for maintenance and operational purposes make industrial equipment a lot more responsive and useful and create a much safer working environment, as well.

IoT Security

IoT security is the area of endeavor concerned with safeguarding connected devices and networks in the Internet of things (IoT). The first thing that comes to mind for most people when they think of IoT security is encryption. If you are one of those people, then don’t worry, you are not totally incorrect. Encryption is an important component of security, but it is just one part of the whole story. However, by itself, encryption does not provide security in the way that most people tend to think.

Security, like most things, has a curve of diminishing returns versus cost. What IoT requires is a good balance of reasonably strong security measures that are economical and massively scalable. first major issue is that a compromised IoT device can, in some cases, offer a way onto a company’s network for a malicious actor. A badly secured smart TV, a security camera – anything that accesses the network is a potential vector for an attack.

IoT Interoperability

The full benefits of the Internet of Things are only realized when large enough numbers of devices are able to interact with each other – and therein lies a big problem. The number of different players in the market covers a wide range, both horizontally, in terms of functionality, and vertically, among different industries.

With a huge number of companies “doing IoT,” – most big-name tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, Apple, Cisco, Intel, and IBM have various types of IoT play – all working to bring as many users as possible into their respective ecosystems, motivation to make sure IoT systems and devices from different companies all work with each other is sometimes lacking.

IoT Platforms

One IoT device connects to another to transmit information using Internet transfer protocols. IoT platforms serve as the bridge between the devices’ sensors and the data networks.

The following are some of the top IoT platforms on the market today:

Amazon Web Services

Microsoft Azure

ThingWorx IoT Platform

IBM’s Watson

Cisco IoT Cloud Connect

Salesforce IoT Cloud

Oracle Integrated Cloud

GE Predix

Top 10 Reasons to Have an Online Resume

1) Cost – The cost of postage keeps rising, and multiply that cost by the number of Cover Letters and Resumes you send out – it really adds up. An email with a formal introduction, and an attached word document, PDF, or link costs nothing each time you send since it’s already included in internet fees that you wouldn’t dare go without. Plus think of how many copies you’d have to make, which adds up at Kinkos or Pro-Copy.

2) Timeliness – Sending a resume through the U.S. postal service can take days to arrive. Sending an Online Resume out to a prospective employer or even twenty prospective employers – minutes.

3) More likely to Generate a Response – With a resume sent via postal mail, the recipient is going to have to call or email you if there’s interest. The recipient has every intention of calling you, but then he’s got two hours of paperwork he has to get to before he can even thinking of calling you, which will take anywhere from 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, all he has to do is hit the ‘reply’ button, acknowledge that he received your resume, and poof, the lines of communication are open, and it saved you both time and hassle!

4) More Applicable to Networking – Ever go to an event, get a business card, and never hear back from someone again? Or, did you have every intent of emailing the person but didn’t know how to follow up? Hopefully you mentioned you’re looking for work, and hopefully you’ll heed this advice – attach your resume to your email or imbed a link to it in your email signature. Putting it in your signature is a very subtle way of making your resume accessible and available. And all your contact has to do is hit the “forward” button to put you in touch with his boss or a colleague.

5) Eco-friendly – Aside from the costs financially, resumes and resume portfolios can take up a lot of paper, especially when you send them out to twenty-plus companies. While the internet does use electricity, the impact is far greater on trees – replenishing the supply of trees globally can take years.

6) Instantly Accessibility – CareerBuilder and Monster, two of the mega-giants in job posting and Online Resume Posting allow you to post your resume online so virtually anyone can see it. If a company needs to hire someone fast, they probably won’t go through the trouble of posting an ad in the local paper. They also probably won’t waste much time waiting for resumes to pile in. Be the speedy-solution they’re looking for. And who knows, even if this job doesn’t pan out, another company may just find you.

7) Friends and Family-Friendly – As mentioned in number-four, networking is so valuable when looking for a job. By giving your friends and family copies of your resume, they can help you put the word out about your skill-set to people they know. Do you think Aunt Margie or your best friend Jerry is going to carry a copy of your resume with them to Starbucks? Probably not. But Aunt Margie does have a friend in Seattle who is looking through entry level resumes and student resumes in attempts to hire an intern. And Jerry may know of an opening at the school he works for. Email your resume or send a link, and let them help you.

8) More Applicable to Social Networking – If you haven’t joined at least one professional social networking site such as LinkedIn, shame on you! You can meet like-minded professionals who can review your resume and you can view theirs. Perhaps you’ll get an idea of ways you can better market yourself, you may meet someone you can start a new company with, and you’ll receive notifications on industry-related workshops and socials. People will start identifying you as “Joe, the IT professional,” rather than just “Joe.”

9) Keeps Content Fresh – You just sent out your sales resume to a leading medical equipment sales company in your area. You then received notice that a two-week long medical equipment sales workshop is coming to your area, which you attended. This additional training makes you more knowledgeable and more qualified for a job with this company, but you already submitted your resume. By posting an online update, and notifying the company of the update via email, you’re keeping the lines of communication open and expressing a desire to better yourself whenever the opportunity arises.

10) Potential for Freelance Opportunities – Most companies can use a temp or freelancer from time to time, but don’t want to spend money advertising for a position that may only last two weeks to two months. If you’re unemployed or looking for extra experience, temp work is a perfect way to keep yourself in the game, hone new skills, and make contacts within a company. Posting your resume online instantly opens up this avenue, which many job candidates often don’t consider. The key with this, and all elements of job hunting, is to be one, two, and even three steps ahead of the game.

If you’re interested in posting an online resume but don’t know where to begin, it can be helpful to refer to an online resume site with Free Resume Samples and Free Resume Examples. You’ll get tutorials on how to create a resume and ideas from effective resumes that have proven to work.

The ADD Guide to Internet Moneymaking – Get Rich Click by Marc Ostrofsky Book Review

Stuffed like Granny’s Thanksgiving Turkey

Making Money Online. Mmmm, doesn’t that sound awesome! Easy money, right? Well, maybe it could be according to millionaire internet pioneer, Marc Ostrofsky. In his book, Get Rich Click, Ostrofsky provides multiple moneymaking ideas and examples of people who used them to made money online, big money. Additionally to several pages of accolades on the book (mostly from other successful online marketers), the book contains 17 full chapters of methods to potentially break into the internet monetary market. Mr. Ostrofsky also gives the reader input on developing a mindset to get into this business, plus loads of references to resources for tools or additional information.

What I liked about this book is the fact that is does indeed deliver the goods. The methods presented are proven methods for making money on the internet and Ostrofsky gives you enough information about the method to at least get your started, should you wish to pursue further. So in regards to quantity, this book is a hands down winner. If I sat down and wrote out a list of every single way you might be able to make money on the internet, from selling personal items on eBay to selling domain names for millions of dollars (Ok maybe the domain name for millions of dollars isn’t up for grabs anymore – unless you are keeping your eye on the future of the dotMobi domains), I don’t think I could have covered the field any better than this book does.

The other thing I liked about this book is the resources provided. Within every method described in the book, Ostrofsky does a good job of providing links to resources for tools or providers that are valuable to the newbie entrepreneur. Additionally, at the end of the book, there is a whole chapter dedicated to resource and supplier information.

Because Get Rich Click is packed with information that serious lookers for internet opportunities could benefit from, I highly recommend it. I applaud the authors style to present important key processes in easy to follow numbered sequences or with bullet points. As someone who reads a high volume of technical information on the web or in books, it is refreshing to see the steps broken down into little chunks that are easy to read and digest. The book is also broken down into small sub chapters so it goes pretty quick and for those of us that may only be interested in one specific method or two, the book is laid out to easily accommodate them. I don’t recommend this of course, because you will not get your money’s worth from the book by just cherry picking a method or two.

Now my Grain of Salt

Despite my recommendation of the book, to give fair warning for anyone with their hand hovered over the “buy now” button on Amazon; I would like to point out a few things I did not like about the book.

First – although the book appears to be organized in a nice standard Microsoft Word Outline with titles, and sub-titles with text attached to it, sometimes the organization of the author’s thoughts get a little off course. For example, in the chapter titled “Collecting Your Payments – Fast and Easy”, the author gets into collecting payment with credit cards and using drop shipping and so on. So far, so good. But then right in the midst of that, he presents a flow chart and a concept about Database Marketing and talks about the qualifying and selling leads. What? What does this have to do with getting paid? I found examples of this ADD writing style throughout the book, which could be more attributed to bad editing than bad authoring, but either way it does take away from the flow quite a bit.

Second – you cannot get through the book without feeling a little bit snookered either. Clearly many of the references provided by the author must be obtained by a link back to his website. No doubt this is for a monetary affiliation with that referenced product or service. While the book IS about making money online and I cannot fault the author for trying to make money as he proposes to you, the reader, it would be so refreshing to read a book about online marketing or monetizing that is truly altruistic from the author (like they claim they are.) “I made money so I want to give back, blah, blah, blah…..” Make no mistake about it; besides the profits Ostrofsky is making from book sales, his intention is connecting to you, the reader, as a potential income source. So, keep that in mind. I personally don’t have an issue with it and frankly, given the chance, I would probably do the same thing myself. Still, it’s nice to dream of truly giving individuals whose only motive is to give back to the community.

Finally, the last thing I didn’t like about the book is the author self-aggrandizement that is splashed throughout the book. Again, this is super typical for this type of book where the author uses his/her own success as the most shining example of how to do whatever they are promoting in their books. Maybe I’m not being fair here, because of course we wouldn’t want to hear from the author unless they hadn’t done something to establish themselves as an expert on the topic. Still, I keep hoping to find one that is not like this. I think it is entirely possible to present your success without coming across as an ego maniac name dropper. Get Rich Click is not as bad as that but there was enough self aggrandizement in the book to irritate me once in a while.

Summary

OK so maybe I’m jealous or maybe I just have never been good a fit for over the top salesy stereotypes that tend to write these money making books. Hint, hint…does this mean this type of personality is a requirement in mindset to be successful? No, I don’t really believe that is true. In fact, when you think about the concepts promoted in this book for “online” success, which implies individual non-corporate achievement, self entrepreneurship, and an independent spirit, then the opposite logically might be true. I’ve given Mr. Ostrofsky a little bit a grief for his salesman like style in the book but nevertheless I still applaud him for creating a story and an example of individual spirit and ingenuity. These are the stories that interest us and make us buy books to see if there is anything we can do to emulate these stories.

This book is just too filled with good information not to read it. You may have to investigate a little further any specific method that appeals to you, but the book does provide a comprehensive overview of each method presented. I rate a book of this genre, which is intended to inform and educate, by how much I actually learned. And I did learn from this book, plus I also got several good ideas and resources I intent to look into further. I feel you will too.

The Birth of Internet Crime

The birth of the internet has transformed the world as we know it. It has clearly grown to astronomic proportions since it became a household name in the mid 1990’s. If you were born before 1980, you have watched the world change from using rotary telephones to iPhones. These days nearly everything can be controlled by the touch of a button.

Bills can be paid online, movie tickets can be purchased online, you can talk to your loved ones online, and you can take a complete college course – without having to step foot on campus. The possibilities of the internet are endless – and technology is changing more rapidly than we can learn to understand it.

Today, teens and individuals in their twenties are grasping and exploiting computer technology like never before. Children are already known for their marked ability to learn and assimilate information at a very young age – absorbing and utilizing the internet and computer systems are no different than learning how to build a tree fort. For some families, their 13-year-old can build an entire computer system as his father built a model car the generation before.

With the advent of the internet, came an entirely new way to commit crimes. The terms internet crime, cybercrime and computer crime are used interchangeably. Simply put, internet crime or cybercrime is a form of crime where the internet or computers are used as a medium to commit crime.

Internet crimes are vast and expansive and can include anything from downloading illegal music files to stealing someone’s identity. Cybercrime can also include stealing millions of dollars from online bank accounts to distribution child pornography. One of the most common forms of internet crimes involves identity theft which is commonly done through phishing and pharming. These methods set up fake websites (that appear legitimate) to lure unsuspecting victims. People are asked to give out personal information such as name, address, phone numbers and bank accounts. Criminals then take this information and “steal” the person’s identity.

Internet crimes are not limited to targeting the consumer; cybercrimes have gone so far as to take on global proportions. Cybercrimes can also encompass criminal activities such as espionage, financial theft, and sabotage. In May 2010, the Pentagon established the new U.S. Cyber Command, which is headed by the director of the National Security Agency (NSA), to defend American military networks. It also serves to attack the computer systems of other countries.

Due to the fact that criminal activities have spread at a rate that law enforcement has had difficulty keeping up, entire task forces have been developed to crack down on internet and cybercrimes. There is a method called electronic discovery, or e-discovery, which is a type of cyber forensics. Electronic discovery is a process employed by law enforcement where they can obtain, secure, search and process any electronic data for use as evidence in a legal investigation. Electronic discovery can involve just a single computer or it can incorporate an entire computer network.

When you are facing allegations for internet or cybercrimes, it is essential that you seek the advice of a highly skilled attorney who you can trust. When your future is at stake – you need somebody who is familiar with both computer technology and the criminal justice system. You are urged to contact an experienced criminal defense lawyer who can help you learn more about what steps you can take to protect your legal rights and your future.

Maximize High Speed Internet Potential With These Tips

Most of us are dependent on our connection to the internet. Many use it for social media and news, some of us use it for work, and all of us use it entertainment. Therefore, it’s not only frustrating but can also be debilitating when previously high speed internet starts to falter. These tips will help assure efficient connections during all stages of the process, from set-up to troubleshooting.

1) Do in-depth research on company offers. There are many factors to consider when selecting the best plan, such as supported devices, users, and video streaming needs. An often overlooked concern is the size of a house. Larger houses with lots of walls or other obstructions will require a more powerful high speed internet service.

2) No matter how good the modem is a poor router can ruin everything. Invest in a good router with strong reviews in boosting ability and consistent connections to get the most out of high speed internet.

3) Sometimes the solution is so simple is seems improbable. Loose cables, collected dust, and overheating can all lead to poor connections. All technological equipment should be stored in a controlled, clean environment to keep the connection strong. A Wi-Fi booster can also help extend the range of the router.

4) Secure the network to stop nosy neighbors from hopping on the network and slowing it down. Most companies encourage private passwords when they install the high speed internet, but they can be set up after installation.

5) Clean up the browser, including history, cookies, and old tabs. None of these factors will greatly affect the speed, but the collection of information can build up and slow down the internet gradually.

6) The slowing down process is exacerbated when coupled with a virus or malware. Hopefully, a good antivirus program will make sure this is never a problem. Even then, it’s important to install updates for the antivirus program as they become available, as viruses are constantly adapting too. To be safe, full computer scans with anti-malware programs can pinpoint suspicious programs and help the user remove them.

7) Upgrade the browser and choose the option that best suits current needs. Similar to previous tips, an upgraded and streamlined browser maximizes high speed internet processing. Most computers allow for multiple browsers to be installed, so testing each one with favorite programs and websites is a practical way to go about this. No matter the browser, only use the tools and plug-ins that are necessary, and uninstall ones that are simply taking up space.

8) Shut down the computer regularly. This gives the computer a break from running and will improve the overall functionality of the computer. This downtime allows for updates to install as well.

None of these tips are very expensive or time-consuming. The main issue people face is not doing research before making a choice. Even those who don’t consider themselves technologically advanced can do research and ask professionals for their opinion. Throughout the process, be cautious and only download things that are from trusted companies.
