Why Every Truck Needs a Gun Rack

Sure, you’re proudly running around town with that NRA membership sticker in your window. But, those are a dime a dozen. It’s time to put your money where your mouth is. Whether you’re a hunting enthusiast or simply want to give the jerk in the BWM something to think about, every guy needs a truck gun rack.

Gun racks come in a range of sizes to fit just about any truck or SUV. They’re simple to install and are easily mounted without drilling or any other permanent alterations to your rig. Other than their intended use, gun racks also make a handy place to stow fishing rods, protecting them from bending or breaking among the rest of your gear while preventing the lines from becoming tangled. An ATV gun rack is also great for providing a convenient place to hang your cap or other clothing items you want to save from becoming wrinkled. Plus, if you haul rope or cables, gun racks keep them neat and untangled.

It kind of goes without saying, but whether you’re headed into the woods or into the office, it’s never a good idea to leave a weapon out in plain sight. You’re just asking for trouble. Stow them safely away in the Classic Accessories seat back gun case. Designed to carry up to three shotguns or rifles, it stows your firearms across the back seat of your SUV or pickup truck, discretely out of sight but conveniently within reach.

Another option is the Du-Ha underseat storage case. With DuHa, you get a gun case and organizer for your back seat all in one. It includes a 2-piece gun rack and is constructed from heavy-duty polyethylene material, making it virtually indestructible. A DuHa is simple to install. Just slide the straps on the case through the loops of the seat belt brackets. Best of all, Du-Ha keeps valuables hidden and your floor and seats free of clutter. Installed as either underseat storage or behind seat storage, it’s virtually invisible to those on the outside of your vehicle, matching your interior with a number of colors, including camo.

Speaking of camo, truck seat covers make the perfect finishing touch. Available in a wide variety of styles and colors, including camo seat covers, most covers on the market today slip on and off with no tools required and are available for all seats and rows in your vehicle. Many are even treated with water and stain repellents for complete spill protection. Because even though you may drag the wilderness back into your rig, there’s no reason to let it ruin your interior. Just make sure you’re looking at covers manufactured from quality OEM fabrics with a soft foam backing for added comfort and durability.

Don’t Shoot Yourself In The Foot, Get A Gun Safe

In today’s world a lot of people want to have a gun, not for hunting, but for the protection of their family and their houses/offices.

Though once you have bought a gun, you have to be aware of the responsibility that comes with it. Sometimes the lack of a gun safe can cost you dearly, if you have curious kids. Or if it is stolen you will not only lose the money paid for it, but you can also be morally responsible for a potential attack or even a murder. According to the FBI, more then 30% of the guns used in illicit actions were initially obtained through a theft from homes or businesses.

You have to take the time and the money to assure yourself that your gun is safe!

Some of the guns are provided with a lock. For example, Winchester guns are sold together with a cable-type lock or a trigger lock, depending on the gun. The Winchester company offers a wide range of safes. These are not only very practical, with a high protection rate, but also have a very nice classic design, that can sit well in your home or office. When buying a Winchester safe you will also buy the assurance that it comes with one of the best gun industry warranties. The safes are standardly provided with 3-point handles, spy-proof, combination locks and interiors which are user-convertible.

Next to Cannon Safes, Browning Safes, Winchester Safes and Fort Knox Gun Safes, Liberty is one other well respected name in the gun safes business. Certified locksmiths (members of ALOA -The Associated Locksmiths of America Inc.) consider that the Liberty safe is the best sold safe in the USA. Liberty also manufactures the National Security brand of gun safes in the States. One of its assets is its certification by Omega Point Laboratories, a fire testing lab recognized by the U.S. Government. This certification guaranties that the Liberty safe protects its interior for a longer time compared to other safes.

Although a safe gun is a good and wise investment, it will cost you extra money. That’s why it is not unreasonable to think of a discount gun safe!

The price of the safe depends on its size, on its options if it is fireproof (usually the fireproof safes cost more, but if you have an expensive gun collection it’s worth choosing the safe to be fire proof). But you can get a good discount if you buy the safe at the same time as the gun or if you buy it from specialized dealers (because they usually have good discounts from the producers).

If the safe has a bigger size (for 10 to 25 guns), you can increase its security by fixing it on the floor or on the wall. If it is in a small size, it would be advisable to hide it away (even if a burglar didn’t come with the intention of stealing your gun, he will not resist the impulse to take it with him and try to open it later).

And remember that a good safe will keep the children or any other unauthorized persons away from the gun! It will protect your gun not only from thefts and fire but also from dust and humidity.

Hidden Gun Cabinets

Owning a gun can elicit both a sense of pride and of responsibility. You are proud of your collection and would not want anyone to steal your valuable gun. Additionally, you have the responsibility of keeping your guns out of reach of both children and criminals. There are many options to securing your guns such as gun cabinets, gun safes, and pistol safes. While these all do what they are intended, if the burglar finds them, with enough time and equipment, he can defeat them and get your guns.

One alternative is to hide your secured guns in a hidden gun cabinet. Here are some tips and tricks:

  • Several manufactures are now building hidden gun cabinets into bookshelves or curio cabinets. While they look a typical oak shelving unit, they happen to be extra deep. With the turn of a key, they release a swing out door revealing your gun collection.
  • Building a false wall in the basement or garage is an often used trick to conceal a gun cabinet. A hidden catch can be pressed to have the wall swing away to reveal the cabinet built between the studs in the wall space.
  • One resourceful gun owner took an old water heater, removed all of the internal components and then installed it in the basement with false pipes. When you pulled the false pipes the heater rotated on a turntable to reveal the backside that houses the opening to remove the long guns.
  • Larger pieces of furniture can be used to conceal openings in the floor or even opening in the furniture itself to hide guns in.
  • Another ingenious version of a pistol safe was to add a compartment to the bottom of the trashcan to store the pistols. You would have to dump out the garbage to get the guns.

Using some sneaky thinking can help hide your guns and keep them out of children’s and thieves hands.

Guns and Shooting Safety

Gun Safety & Shooting Safely

Regardless of your familiarity with firearms or level of marksmanship, both new and experienced shooters always need to focus their thoughts on safety when being around guns. Knowledge of safe practices and, more importantly, always applying that information must be the first and foremost at all times whenever and wherever firearms are present. Whether you are shooting targets or hunting, never allow yourself to become distracted from safety governing your actions. Firearm safety can never be repeated too often or stressed strongly enough, because careless handling of a gun can easily cause devastating results.

Safety awareness around firearms may be presented as a simple list of do’s and don’ts, or a set of rules or commandments, but any compilation of gun safety and shooting safely cannot be all inclusive. Any single list cannot take into account additional circumstances or unique situations that present themselves. The guidelines presented here are to make a person cognitive of recognizing potential dangerous situations with firearms. When handling firearms and ammunition be mindful of your actions, use good sense and caution. Shooting is a relaxing and enjoyable sport that anyone can take part. The key to it all is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The first things to keep in mind for gun safety are:

Always treat any gun as if it were loaded. Never assume that a firearm is unloaded. Any time you handle a firearm, the very first thing to do is point the muzzle in a safe direction, make sure the safety device is engaged, and check to see if the gun is loaded. The only way to ever make certain a firearm is not loaded is to examine it. If you do not understand how to determine if it is loaded, if you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber, leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does know how to check. Never accept any firearm until someone has safely shown you that it is unloaded.

Always point the gun in a safe direction. A safe direction means that even if the gun were to go off it would not cause injury or damage. Depending on your surroundings, common sense determines the safest direction. Be aware of your immediate environment and continuously aware of where the muzzle or front of the barrel is pointing at all times. Never point a firearm at anything that you do not intend to shoot. Never allow the muzzle of a firearm to point at your body or another person. Never rest a muzzle on a body part, like your foot.

Some good practices for shooting safely are:

Keep the gun unloaded when not in use. Unload your firearm when not in use. The only time a gun should be loaded is immediately before using it to shoot. Do not transport a loaded gun. Leave the action open and store the gun in a case when traveling to and from shooting areas. While hunting, open and empty the chamber of your firearm before climbing a tree or jumping over an obstruction. If you have a carry permit for self-protection, keep the chamber of the gun unloaded when carrying to reduce the chance of an accidental discharge.

Learn about the gun and how to use it safely. Find out how the gun operates before handling it. Know the basic parts and features of any firearm you are using; including the safety mechanism, how to safely open and close the action, and how to load and remove any ammunition from the gun. Knowing the handling characteristics of a gun gives the fundamental information to be able to practice safe gun handling. Read the owner’s manual. Ask information from someone who is familiar with the gun. To further familiarize you with the proper use of the gun, consider taking a formal Firearms Safety Course taught by an expert in firearms use and safety procedures.

Maintain the gun to keep it operating safely. Just like any mechanical tool, any firearm needs regular maintenance. General upkeep, such as periodic cleanings and proper storage, are needed to keep a gun in good condition. Regular cleaning will keep your gun operating correctly and safely. After each use, clean and oil your firearm to protect again corrosion, accumulation of impurities and damage to the barrel. Proper cleaning will also help to maintain the gun’s value and prolong its life. Store and carry your firearm so that dirt and lint cannot accumulate in the working parts. Any gun brought out of prolonged storage should be cleaned before shooting to remove any accumulated moisture and dirt, or solidified grease and oil, which can prevent the gun from operating properly. If there is any question concerning a gun’s ability to function, a knowledgeable gunsmith should look at it.

Use proper and correct ammunition for your gun. Only ammunition that is designed for a particular gun is safe to be fired in that gun. The discharge of ammunition in a firearm that is not designed to shoot that ammunition can be dangerous. The caliber or gauge is indicated on the barrel, frame or receiver of a firearm. Ammunition can be identified by check the head stamp to confirm that it matches the caliber or gauge of your firearm. If the ammunition has no marking on the head stamp or cartridge, check the original ammunition packaging. Even if a round can fit into the firearm chamber, it does not necessarily mean that it is safe to use that ammunition in the firearm. An excessive build up and/or release of high-pressure gas in the chamber, barrel and/or action greater than what the firearm is designed to withstand can cause serious injury or death to the user and bystanders, as well as cause damage to the firearm. If there is any question about the caliber of the ammunition, do not use it until you have had it examined by a qualified person who can determine its caliber.

Handle your gun and ammunition carefully. Do not initiate, or take any part in, any horseplay with firearms. Never face or look down the barrel from the muzzle end. Use gun or trigger locks and guards on your firearm when not in use. Store and transport your gun and ammunition separately under lock and key. Never climb a fence, tree or ladder with a loaded firearm. Never jump a ditch or obstruction with a loaded firearm. Carry only ammunition that correctly matches the gauge or caliber you are shooting with your gun. Carry your gun with the chamber empty. Learn how the proper carry for your firearm, and use a two-hand carry when possible to give you the best muzzle control.

Keep your finger off the trigger until you ready to shoot.

Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. Never rest your finger on the trigger, but keep it on the trigger guard or along side of the gun until you are actually ready to fire.

Never consider the safety lock as a substitute for safe firearm handling. The safety is a mechanical device and it can fail. But as an added measure keep the safety on until you are ready to fire.

Know your target, and what is in front of and behind it.

When shooting, know your safe zone-of-fire. Your safe zone-of-fire is the area and direction in which you can safely fire a shot that will not cause injury or damage. Depending on your firearm and ammunition, some bullets can travel over a mile and you must know how far your shot can travel. Know what is in front of and behind your target. Never shoot at flat or hard surfaces, such as rocks, steel, or water because the bullet could ricochet. Determine that you have a safe backstop or background behind your target that will stop your bullet. Never take a shot at a target that is on top of a ridge or hill, because you do not know what may be on the other side. It is your responsibility to ensure that the shot does not cause unintended injury or damage if you miss your target or the bullet penetrates the target.

Wear hearing and eye protection when you shoot your gun.

When shooting, wearing hearing and eye protection is a necessary precaution at all times. Firearms are loud. The noise created from a firing gun damages hearing. Hearing loss can be immediate from being to close to one muzzle blast, or gradual from the vibrations made from lesser blasts over many years. Impact resistant shooting glasses protect your eyes from escaping gases, burnt gunpowder or metal fragments can blow back and injure the shooter. Although these incidents are rare, serious injury can occur and loss of eyesight is a possibility.

Control your emotions when shooting. Shooting is challenging and stimulating, but keep your emotions in check so you do not act carelessly. You or someone else may be in danger if you get caught up in the moment by your emotions. When you successfully shoot you will be excited. At that moment, you must demonstrate discipline and keep safety in mind. After a successful shot at a target, you need to first put your gun down with the muzzle facing down range before turning back towards your companions with a loaded firearm in your hands. When hunting, after a successful shot remember to put the safety on before you run with a loaded firearm towards a downed animal. Plan in your mind what the safe action will be.

Never drink alcohol or take over-the-counter, prescription or other drugs before while handling your gun. Alcohol and drugs can impair normal mental and physical body functions and should never be used before or while handling firearms. handling a gun while using alcohol and/or any drugs cause a hazardous situation because these substance affect motor reactions, judgment and emotions.

Store your gun safely. There are several locking devices available for firearms. Consider your personal situation in deciding how and where to store your gun and ammunition. Separate and lock your unloaded firearm and your ammunition in different locations. Devices such as cable locks, chamber plugs and gun cases are intended to prevent accidents. To reduce the possibility of intentional misuse of your firearm from an unauthorized child or person, steel gun safes are the most appropriate storage. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to ensure that children under the age of 18 or other unauthorized persons do not gain access to your firearm.

The Right to Bear Arms, the second amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, guarantees Americans the freedom and ability to own and use firearms. With this right comes the great responsibility to knowing how to and handling a firearm safely. A simple search on the internet for Gun Safety Rules or Shooting Safely will bring many results with similar, but different and varying, guidelines. There is no definitive number of rules to follow, but there is a basic commonality among all of the guidelines. The most basic purpose is to use common sense and be conscientious around firearms. Handling a firearm safely and responsibly is always the most important concern in participating in any of the shooting sports.

Taser Stun Gun – The Ultimate Self-Defense

he Taser stun gun is considered the ultimate in self-defense for multiple reasons: 1) It is used by law enforcement and civilian alike, 2) It was the first self-defense product on the market that provided ranged incapacitation via electricity, and 3) TASER as a company is known for its customer service such as its offer to replace any C2 Taser left at the scene of an attack (so the customer could run away!). It’s likely you haven’t considered one or more of these, so let’s take a closer look at each.

Police Officers AND Civilians Use Tasers

As you might have guessed, there are certain Taser models that are only available to police officers. But don’t be fooled, this doesn’t mean that civilians aren’t provided with the best product in self-defense. The differences between the C2 Taser (the most common civilian product) and the M26 and, more recently, X26 police models more distinguish the difference between self-defense and law enforcing offense. The most obvious differentiator is the range: The newer X26 Taser can hit a target 35 feet (10.6 meters) away, while the C2 Taser is limited to 15 feet (4.5 meters), which is more than enough range for its defensive purposes. As a side note, the X26C Taser is available for civilians.

Ranged Electronic Incapacitation

Stun guns were available long before Tasers, but the largest down-side of a stun gun (compared to that of say pepper spray) was that you had to be in contact with your attacker to subdue him. Taser’s ground-breaking technology allowed basically a ranged stun gun: Compressed nitrogen cartridges propel metal prongs-which are connected through insulated wiring to the battery-into your attacker from a distance. This “Taser stun gun” made for a new breed of self-defense product.

TASER and Customer Service

When Taser came out with its first product, one of the scariest factors with using it (or biggest cons to buying it) was that once you subdued your attacker, you would have to retrieve the metal prongs. Now, even though you could just pull them out from a distance, once you did this, your attacker would slowly regain muscular mobility. Taser annihilated this fear by making an “on” switch of sorts and telling customers that if they were faced by an attacker, they should shoot, turn the Taser to “on,” set it on the ground, and run away, and Taser would replace the product! This offer made it obvious that TASER had the customer’s well-being in mind.

The Taser stun gun is truly the most advanced piece of self-defense technology on the market today. The stopping power it provides makes it perfect for both law enforcement and civilians alike. Women at risk everywhere can completely flip the tables on potential attackers: A 90 pound woman can hit a 300 pound man from 15 feet away, dropping him to the ground in seconds. She can then drop the taser stun gun and run. If the worst happens, and the attacker DOES get up to you, the Taser still works as a contact stun gun!

The Paintball Game – Evolution of the Gun and Game

The evolution of the game has been swift from its origins in the 70s to the modern game we know today. It all started with the paintball gun. The term “marker” is a much newer term introduced to make the sport more marketable to the masses. So, what is the history of this relatively new sport and how has it evolved over three decades?

The first paintball guns were used on cattle ranches in the 1970s to single out animals from the herd. James Hale, of Daisy manufacturing , invented a gun for this purpose.

This practice soon evolved into a game and the first ever recreational paintball game took place in June 1981 in New Hampshire, USA. A group of friends used Nel-Spot 007s to play a very basic form of the game over a massive area to capture the flag.

One of the earliest guns available was the Splat Master; it was made entirely of plastic. It could hold ten paintballs, was powered by small co2 cylinders and had a slow fire rate. The gun had to be tilted back to drop each paintball into the firing chamber and cocked by pushing a button on the handle.

The paintball game was first marketed by Charles Gaines, a writer, as National Survival Game- NSG. It started in a very primitive form with players working individually rather than in teams. As the game evolved over time, the rules became more sophisticated and teams became a matter of course. Different types of games sprung up, but the “capture the flag” principle was the most popular.

As the paintball game developed, so did the need for a more sophisticated gun. The pump action marker was introduced with its increased rate of fire.

Caleb Strong opened the first outdoor commercial paintball field in Rochester in 1982. Two years later he opened an indoor version in Buffalo. The development of the commercial industry allowed for more organized, tournament style games and interest in the sport accelerated. The games became more exciting as smaller fields made the action quicker.

The gun continued to evolve in line with the paintball game. As the need for speed increased, the introduction of the 12 ounce co2 tank with its constant air was a major breakthrough. This in turn led to the advent of the semi-automatic gun with its incredible fire rate. Then followed the electric hopper to cope with the fire power of the semi-automatics.

Private and commercial fields are everywhere today as the sport has attracted a huge following. Whilst most players will only ever compete at a recreational level, professional teams compete at a national and international level with prizes worth hundreds of thousands of  dollars. The National Professional Paintball League was founded in 1992 and is the major force in the professional tournament circuit.

Professional players today are using fully automatic computerized markers. The Angel was the first of its kind. It was equipped with a motherboard in the gun’s handle offering a selection of different modes of fire.

There is no reason to believe that the paintball game has completed its evolution. It has come a long way from the cattle ranches of thirty years ago, but it is fair to assume that the sport has not finished its journey just yet.

Spray Gun Finishing Equipment – What Spray Gun is Best For Your Application?

Spray gun painting can be used for both manufacturing processes as well as many household projects. There are two different types of air gun spraying: the manual operation method and the automatic process. In the manual method the air gun sprayer is hand held and moved back and forth over the surface, each stroke overlapping the last to ensure a continuous coat. In the automatic process the gun head is attached to a mounting block and delivers a stream of paint from that position.

There are a few different types of spray guns to use depending on your needs:

HVLP Spray Guns: HVLP which stands for high volume low pressure are similar to a conventional spray gun using a compressor to supply the air. The spray gun itself requires low pressure (LP) and a higher volume (HV) of air is used to aerosolize and propel the paint at a lower air pressure. HVLP Spray Gun Systems are most commonly used in the automotive, marine, architectural coating, furniture finishing, and cosmetic industry.

LVLP Spray Guns: LVLP which stands for low volume low pressure uses a lower volume of air to atomize the paint at the cap. These spray guns, like HVLP systems, operate at low pressure but also have a low volume of paint coating. Unlike HVLP guns LVLP guns can be used with a smaller compressor. These spray gun systems are great for small shops, woodworkers, or smaller projects in general.

Electrostatic Spray Painting: Electrostatic painting is when an electrically charged powder is sprayed on a surface that is charged with the opposite electrical charge. The whole is then baked to properly attach paint. It’s much more durable than liquid paint and it’s an environmentally friendly process because there are no solvents to evaporate into the air or go down the drain. Electrostatic painting can be used on most plastics and any kind of metals. This type of painting is commonly used to paint car bodies, bicycles, elevators, and some office equipment.

Airless Spray Guns: Airless Spray Guns are connected to a high pressure pump to atomize the coating using different tip sizes to reach desired atomization and spray pattern size. Airless spray gun coatings penetrate better into pits and crevices, and have a thick wet coating which reduces the number of applications. These systems are commonly used by contract painters to paint heavy duty industrial, chemical, and marine coatings and linings.

Air Assisted Airless Spray Guns: Air Assisted Airless Spray Guns are very similar to the airless gun in that high fluid pressures force the coating through a small orifice in the spray gun cap. The gun differs from the airless spray gun in that the fluid pressures are lower. These spray guns provide high transfer rate and increase application speed and is best used with flat line applications. These spray guns are commonly found in factory finish shops.

Gun Safe Construction – Composite Vs Steel Plate

A gun vault is a specialized type of safe, configured for the storage of long guns. It’s use is not limited to firearms and related items. Other valuables may be stored in the safe along with your firearms.

In a previous article I identified some very basic questions you should ask yourself to help identify your needs before shopping for a gun vault. In this article I want to give you some pointers on what to look for in the construction of a gun safe that will help you pick a model that is both secure and affordable.

Keep in mind this adage, “You get what you pay for.” That statement is very true when it comes to picking a gun safe. Once you have established your needs and your budget, a little knowledge about safe construction will help you identify a safe that is both secure and affordable.

There are two primary types of materials used in the construction of gun vaults. First is solid rolled steel plate. Available in thicknesses ranging from ¼ inch to over 1 inch thick, steel plate can provide a high level of security from attempted intrusion. Efforts to gain entry via prying and drilling are extremely difficult on a safe made from hardened steel plate. The thicker the steel, the more time and effort is required to drill or cut through.

A safe made of heavy steel plate is just that – heavy. Weighing in at 700 – 1000 pounds such a safe isn’t likely to be carried off by a burglar, but is difficult for the owner to place and install and may require reinforced flooring. One down side to steel plate is that it is vulnerable to heat and may be easily breached with a cutting torch.

A solid steel safe will be heavy. It will feel heavy. Swing the door back and forth and you can feel the weight. A one inch thick composite door may only contain 25% of the steel that you find in a 3/8 inch solid steel door. That extra weight means extra security.

Composite is made up of sheets of thinner steel, layered much like plywood, and possibly other materials as well. Lower end composites may consist of plaster, foam, plastic, or organic material sandwiched between two layers of thin sheet metal. Very vulnerable to power tools, a low end safe may be cut open with a basic carpenters circular saw carrying a carbide tipped blade.

Higher end composites will layer more sheets of hardened steel and possibly fire retardant. A layer of stainless steel may be included as a barrier against a cutting torch. With a higher heat resistance than standard steel, stainless is nearly impervious to entry via torch.

When shopping for your gun safe don’t focus all of your attention on the interior. The security of the contents depends on the construction of the box itself. When it comes to securing your firearms and other valuables, you want the most steel that you can afford.

The Pen Stun Gun – Provides Effective Self-Defense

With the growing trend of violence in today’s society, perhaps one of the most prevalent concerns on the minds of women everywhere is personal protection. It’s scary enough to be a single woman walking home from a late night of work or to the corner store, or even just sitting at home alone for a quiet night in. But, doing so without any means of self-defense is downright terrifying. And though there are plenty personal protection classes available, which every woman should take, sometimes we just need that added layer of security to assure ourselves that we can handle any situation that comes our way.

In order to help protect yourself there are many tools, which can be of great use to a woman seeking extra protection. Small, lightweight, and conveniently compact, the stun gun pen incorporates the stopping power of a taser or stun gun and packages it in a manner suitable for carrying in your purse or pocket without adding unnecessary bulk or weight. Some pens are even found on key chains for the added ease of transport and use. Even better, most not only look like flashlights but they actually are flashlights, an added benefit you can use when walking through poorly lit areas. Never again will you need to leave your home without a quick and effective means of protecting yourself in the event of an attack.

A stun gun, also known as an electroshock weapon, is a device that delivers an electric charge designed to incapacitate and subdue its target using a high-voltage, low current shock. The charge is caused by an alternating electrical current running between two exposed prongs on the end of the gun. This charge disrupts the muscle function in the body, and causes muscles to twitch or spasm uncontrollably. While the actual current is applied, the shock is actually enough to paralyze its target, allowing a victim to quickly and safely escape his or her attacker. The shock also causes pain in the recipient, and the more sensitive the area to which the pulse is applied, the more pain the person will feel. They are effective even through layers of clothing, so there is no need to search for exposed skin to which to apply the device.

The ideal areas of the body on which to place the stun device for maximum effect are the upper shoulder, lower rib cage, and upper hip. Furthermore, often just the sight and sound of the electrical current pulsating between the prongs is enough of a deterrent to stop an attack before it starts. The effects are temporary, and provide a safer and more effective alternative to other, more lethal weapons. They are designed to be user-friendly, most requiring that the safety on the pen be in the “on” position to operate. This is to ensure that it is the intended recipient who receives the shock, not the user.

Most stun gun pens are about the size and weight of a marker pen, making them much more convenient than the average stun gun or taser.

The ease of use, convenience of size and weight, and overall effectiveness of the stun gun pen make it an ideal means of personal protection. It is something all women should carry with them, because it’s better to have one and never need it than need one and never have it.

Paintball Gun Pistols – Which Caliber of Pistol Should You Get?

In the 90’s as new technology entered the paintball sport, paintball pistols became less sought after. These 12 gram co2 powered markers just weren’t the latest and greatest. Most players wanted semi-auto markers that could shoot more rounds with a bigger air source. Skip ahead to present time and you’ll find that paintball players have gotten their fix on the newer technology, and are looking for a trusty paintball pistol to act as a backup for their primary marker. The jump back into scenario/woods play has also helped rebirth life into the pistol market.

Today, paintball has become a sport of many calibers. There literally are multiple size rounds in use today. You can find paintball guns designed to shoot these specific calibers – even paintball pistols. The two most commonly used rounds for paintball pistols are.43 and.68 caliber rounds. Most paintball gun pistols in use today use either of these rounds.

When determining which caliber paintball gun pistol is right for you (.43 or.68), you must consider a number of factors. Firstly,.43 caliber pistols will get more shots out of a 12 gram co2 cartridge. This is due to the smaller weight and size of ammo, as less gas is needed to expel the projectile. However, the smaller the ammo the more susceptible it is to air resistance and wind.

When deciding which size of paintball gun pistol is right for you, you should weigh the features you seek most. Some players prefer the smaller .43 caliber round paintball pistols, as they feel they resemble the real deal the most. In their minds a pistol shoots smaller rounds, and should be slightly inferior to their main marker for the sake of realism. Others prefer the heaver.68 caliber rounds because they don’t particularly want to buy 2 different sizes of paintballs to play. Whatever your preferences are, be sure to get the paintball gun pistol that matches you.
