Razor Dune Buggy Kart Review

Have you ever met a child who really didn’t like playing with cars, trucks, or any other vehicle at some point in their lives? You may come across a couple, but for the most part just about all kids enjoy them. Since you can’t give them a real car you have to mimic them with toys. Razor has brought forth several products like the Razor Dune Buggy Kart, the Pocket Rocket, Dirt Rocket, and various miniature scooters. What you will find is that these are all “ride-on-vehicles.” The company has been selling them since 2000 and even though they are mainly in Europe, they’ve become quite popular in the U.S.

Parents seem to set their focus on the Dune Buggy simply because it takes most of them back to the 70s when they were popular. Granted this is simply a miniature version, but it does have an electric motor, battery, and a steering wheel. It will go up to 9mph and offers a bucket seat, diamond plate floorboards, tires, and even a terrain suspension so your child can go over various landscapes. The chain motor is has carries up to 120lbs and the weight limit itself is the same. Best of all there is a seat strap to ensure their safety. Razor also recommends you purchase this solely for children from ages 8 and up. Also, the riding time will last 45 minutes and when it’s over you will need 12 hours of recharging to replenish it.

There are several advantages that come with the Razor Dune Buggy Kart. When you purchase your own it comes fully assembled so you do not have to waste hours putting everything together. The torque is great and it really feels like a real dune buggy, especially when you’re crawling up hills and rolling through the mud. It’s made of steel and will pretty much last through your little one’s childhood. You will also be extremely happy with the safety. There is a safety harness and when mixed with the construction it’s virtually impossible to get hurt. Just remember that you should still well a helmet and other protective gear just in case.

Where there are benefits you can always find some kind of disadvantage. The Razor Dune Buggy Kart is no different and both drawbacks deal with the safety. When you look at the flag on the Razor it’s black and very low on the kart. This means it’s possible that vehicles around the neighborhood may not be able to see you. The other issue revolves around brakes because it’s not a foot brake, but a hand brake. Sometimes individuals struggle with this option.

In the end the Razor Dune Buggy Kart is great for anyone from age 8 and up. It’s a great investment when you consider the construction, safety, and 45 minutes of riding. If the black flag is a concern you can always get a different color like orange or red. Then of course all the children should understand how the braking system works and each of the requirements. If you do this and provide adult supervision, everyone will enjoy the Razor Dune Buggy Kart.
