1. Play computer games in your target language

If you like to play computer games, play them in your target language! You can usually switch a language in the menu or download a free language pack. This tip is especially useful if you like computer role-playing games, because there’s a lot of text in these type of games.

2. Read Wikipedia in your target language

Wikipedia is probably the biggest source of free articles online. Find a Wikipedia written in your target language, search for some interesting articles and read them to improve your vocabulary and grammar. You can read these articles even if you are a beginner – use Google Translate if you have any problems.

3. Use music to improve a few skills at the same time

Music is a great way to improve your language skills! How can you use it to become a better speaker?

– listen to music (and concentrate on it) to improve your listening skills

– translate a song to improve your vocabulary, grammar and writing skills

– sing or rap along to improve your accent (and also listening skills)

These tips are especially useful if you have been learning another language for a few weeks or a few months. If you know all of the basic things, it will be easier for you to put these tips to use. Remember to practice regularly and practice often!
