Moving through the levels in WOW can take months if you don’t learn how to power level.
There are a few good power leveling guides to help you, but they’re hard to find. Using a guide can be a hassle, though, when you have to alt tab to get out of the game to read a part of the guide and then alt tab to get back to WOW. If you print the guide out, you can spend a fortune on paper and ink, since most are over 100 pages long (if it’s any shorter, it’s probably no good).
One of the options that used to be available was an add-on that put the guide inside the game, but Blizxzard changed their requirements and banned the use of add-ons like this. You risk getting your account closed down and losing everything you’ve been working on if you use one of these add-ons. In one second your toon and all the money and time it took to build it to a decent level, gone! That can really hurt.
In order to avoid this you have to stay completely legal and, as far as I know, only one add-on leveling guide still complys with Blizzard’s standards and is allowed in the game. You can’t develop a toon overnight in World of Warcraft and using an illegal guide or add-on would be too much of a risk.
WOW is a great way to totally immerse yourself in another world and I urge you, if you aren’t playing now, to try it out. Just don’t try to get around the rules and risk getting your account shut down. There’s nothing wrong with using a good guide to help you, just be sure it’s legal and works within Blizzard’s requirements.
