Many times when two people break up and go their separate ways, one or the other of them is not happy about it. Even if both are okay with the break-up, oftentimes one or both will continue to think about their ex boyfriend or girlfriend. Eventually this leads to thoughts of getting him or her back.
If you are still feeling butterflies in your tummy every time you think of your ex boyfriend, you probably fall into the category of wanting to get back with him. Maybe you think it is impossible though, and so you have just decided not to pursue the matter further.
But the thing is, if you do still have feelings, he might also be experiencing the same thing. Just think about this: What if both of you are really, deep down inside, wanting to get back together and neither one does anything about it? What a travesty that would be. You could be each other’s soul mates and yet you will just let the relationship go without a fight.
If you truly want him back, and you really think there could still be feelings on both sides, it’s worth a try at least. Don’t you think? Give him a call, ask him out for lunch or just for a cup of coffee. See what he says and does. Read his body language and try to understand what he is telling you. If he seems like he is still interested, tell him you would like to begin dating again. If you see no interest at all, you’ve lost nothing by trying. And who knows, he may go home, start thinking of you, and give you a call in a few days.
Whatever you do, don’t just assume that “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” It might be true in some cases, but in my experience it is usually the opposite, and you’ll just get more and more distant.
