How to Reduce Stomach Fat – Reduce Your Stomach Fat With Small Frequent Meals

People normally eat 3 square meals a day and and each meal gets progressively larger as the day goes on. For a long time eating 3 large meals was not a real problem, because people not so long ago where physically very active. Whereas our grandparents did 8-10 hours of hard labour and burned tons of calories in the process, right now most of us are sitting in a office for 8-10 hours, not burning enough calories.

How to reduce stomach fat

  • Our current lifestyles are just not suitable for the eating habits that most of us have had for many many generations. So the only way how we can eat normally, without starving ourselves, is by making small modifications. If you only eat a small breakfast, a large lunch and an even bigger dinner, then expecting to reduce stomach fat with this diet is very optimistic.
  • Research has shown that our eating frequency has a big effect to the amount of calories we burn. People who eat 4-6 meals a day store less body fat, then people who eat 3 meals a day, even though the number of calories is the same.
  • If you eat large meals that are spaced far apart, then your metabolism, the engine that burns calories slows down, because it does not have to do any work. So basically you burn less calories. The key is to keep your metabolism active so you would burn calories. That is also the reason why diets don´t work, they also cause the metabolism to slow down, meaning you burn less calories.
  • The trick to reduce your stomach fat is to eat 5-7 meals a day, about 2-3 hours apart from each other with around 300-400 calories. This means your body will be easily able to process the small meal, so you will be less likely to store it as body fat. These meals of course need to be balanced, (about 30% of protein, 50% of carbohydrates and 15% of fat) and the less processed foods you eat the better. Of course eating smaller meals is not the solution to lose stomach fat permanently but it is a important step.
