Entropia avatars gain skills which influence their abilities and tasks within the game. The most basic and perhaps the most important of these skills are the attributes. Attributes affect and are affected by everything within the game. Some of them are easy to raise while others seem to be extremely difficult.
Agility is raised by and influences various combat activities as well as defence, misc tailoring, misc colouring and beauty.
Intelligence is raised by and influences crafting, mining, scanning and use of mindforce as well as a couple combat activities such as whip and ranged.
Psyche is raised and influenced by mindforce use (which includes sweating).
Stamina influences run speed and as far as I know can only be raised by quests. However, the overall general level of an avatar may also have an affect as I have met a few ‘old’ avatars with higher stamina.
Strength is influenced and raised by melee combat. Besides combat, strength is also beneficial to the carrying capacity of the avatar. The avatar will always be able to walk, however, if overburdened, they will not be able to run.
I’m sure there are other areas which are influenced by the attribute skills but these are the most obvious ones and are also the activities which a player may partake in to raise those same attributes. A major activity that can possibly increase several attributes is swunting (sweating and hunting the same animal).
By sweating the animal first and taking the hits the avatar potentially gains psyche and agility. When the sweating portion is complete the avatar can then initiate combat with a weapon. If that weapon is melee than the avatar potentially gains strength and agility as well as other related skills. Or, if the weapon is ranged then the potential attribute gains are in the intelligence and agility categories. These are not set in cement of course, there are likely more crossover of skills. However, the activity of swunting is a great way for an avatar to gain attribute skills and still have fun.
Also, you should remember that your attributes are not able to increase or decrease artificially. And the vast majority of standard tasks in Entropia increase Agility. As a result, the player community has come to use Agility as a de-facto measure of someone’s capability in game, as well as time in game. Thus adding another use for the attributes, and more information you can gain just knowing your opponent’s attributes.
