Celebrities Who Love RVs and Mobile Homes

While most people associate mobile homes and RVs with ordinary folks, it may come as a surprise to many that there are celebrities who also love them to travel by them. Recreational vehicles have been used by many a star from Hollywood to make their road trip a roaring success.

One Hollywood star who loves his RV so much that he has named it Canoe. This star is Mathew McConaughey. He has an Airstream trailer that is often seen parked along the Malibu coast as McConaughey catches some surf. He uses the trailer to travel around the country and is known to host press meets while on the road. In fact, McConaughey was awarded the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association Spirit of America Award in the year 2007.

Actress Drew Barrymore took a month long vacation driving around the US in an RV some time in 2009. In a television show, she claimed that it was one of the most interesting and entertaining experiences of her life despite some minor problems she faced while driving.

In 1993, when wildfires burned out many homes in Malibu, Sean Penn was unfortunate enough to lose his mansion. However, Penn took matters into his hand and got an Airstream Sovereign into his estate and lived in it for a few years until his mansion was rebuilt. Now that is showing your love for your mobile home!

Then there is the singer and actress Dolly Parton who travels around the US in an RV. Of course, she travels in style and luxury as the RV is equipped with a huge shower and vanity mirror. And, not to be outdone by anyone is Pamela Anderson, whose Airstream was equipped vibrating bed, a mirror ball and a pole.

Who is a Marketer?

Many people would think that marketer is a person that only stimulates the demand for products and services on the market. In other words marketers are trying to convince people to buy stuff they don’t need. Well, it is not that simple. A marketer is a person who uses marketing methods to promote a product. There may be many marketers but there are only a few successful marketers. The main way in which the success of a marketer is measured is through the growth in the revenue and profits of the company. There are some ways in which a marketer can become successful.

The first thing that marketers have to do to increase growth in the company is to find a suitable way to relate revenue growth with the marketing. This can be done if the marketer is able to quantify a fixed percentage of the revenue growth as an outcome of some specific marketing activities.

An example of this can be- advertisement campaign during the first and second quarter led to a 10% revenue increase. When the marketer is able to define revenue as a product of marketing activities, he/she becomes empowered enough to define the return on investments (ROI). This gives the marketer additional authority on business decisions.

A successful marketer has to drive the other sectors of a business into taking possession of new technology and tools- things that can enhance customer satisfaction. For instance, in British Telecom, marketing is in charge of the IT department. They seek to better customer interaction with the help of developing Web based services.

The existing tools of sales that are already present are reviewed time and again and efficiency is sought to be augmented. Customer is the main stay of present day business. Everything revolves around the customer. Therefore modern day business cannot survive without marketing occupying the main place to drive various technologies and tools. This is required for customer satisfaction.

Marketing also provides services and guidance to the organization. Details such as the future requirements of the market are all provided to R&D and engineers by marketing professionals. This is done so that the company can keep track with the changing demands of time and make products accordingly.

Simultaneously, marketing also acts along with sales to find opportunities. Products have to be taken through appropriate channels; these are suggested by these two operations. The behavior of potential and current customers is adjudged by these two- customers not only buy products they also influence the mechanism of future products. If there is any innovation in new products and services, it is done by marketing and sales.

A successful marketer will also be a strategic leader. They can head different projects starting from product innovation to positioning, pricing to communications. A successful marketer needs to think with a vision. A successful marketer will also employ such people who can do a lot more than their counterparts who are present in competing companies.

Women Who Played Important Roles During World War II

During the Second World War, when most men were busy fighting battles on the frontlines, women assumed important roles in the society. In fact, some women also contributed to World War II, but there is hardly any mention of their sacrifice and efforts in the record books. It was during this period that women left their homes and hearth to work in shipyards and other workplaces, which were earlier male bastions. Many women also fought bravely at the frontlines alongside their male compatriots.

Some of the women, who played important roles, during World War II are as follows:

Russian Tatiana Nikolaevna Baramzina was born on 12 December 1919. She enrolled in the Central Women’s Sniper Training School in 1943. After completing her training, she was dispatched to the Third Belorussian Front. In the first 3 months of her moving to the front, Tatiana managed to kill about 16 enemy soldiers. Tatiana was captured during the war and tortured. Later on she was shot and executed on 5 July 1944. To honor her memory, the street where Tatiana’s home was located was named after her in Glazov. Russia.

Anne Frank, perhaps, is the most recognizable name from World War II. She was a Jewish girl from Germany and became a known named after her diary was published. The diary was a record of her experiences during the Nazi occupation of The Netherlands during the war. Born on 12 June 1929, Anne Frank and her family moved to The Netherlands in 1933. As the Nazi persecution against the Jews increased in The Netherlands, the family went into hiding in 1942. However, 2 years later, the Frank family was captured and sent to a concentration camp. It was 7 months after being incarcerated in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp that Anne and her sister, Margot, contracted typhus and died in March 1945. Anne’s diary some how remained untouched in the camp and was published in 1947 by her father, Otto, who had survived the concentration camp.

Katya Budanova was a female fighter pilot from Russia. Born on December 7, 1916, Katya became interested in aircraft after working in an aircraft factory. She learned to fly and became a part of the all-female 586th Fighter Regiment. During the Second World War, she flew on a solo combat mission shooting down one enemy aircraft. However, this mission was her last, as her plane was also gunned down. She died on 19 July 1943.

Mystery Book Awards – Who Is the Winningest Author?

Each year since 1946 the oldest mystery organization in the United States, the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) presents the Edgar Award. Edgar Allan Poe, if you remember your English literature, is the father of the detective story with his three-story series, involving detective C. Auguste Dupin. A likeness of Poe in the form of a statue is the actual Edgar award, but it was not presented in the first two years. Rather, in its first year Edgar winners received a special edition of Poe’s works, and in the second year the award came in the form of a limited edition of Howard Haycraft’s book Art of the Mystery Story. Archives, early writings and books from MWA’s extensive collection can be found at the Lilly Library in Bloomington, Indiana. There are now eleven regional chapters of MWA.

Although the MWA awards about eighteen statues each year, I focused on the book categories that we, as fictional mystery lovers, would be most likely to know. These categories include the Best Novel (first presented in 1954), the Best First Novel by an American author (presented in MWA’s first year 1946) and the best paperback original (first presented in 1970).

Anthony Boucher, born William Parker White, was a co-founder of the MWA. He won three Edgars for his work as a mystery critic for the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Times. He died in 1968 and his fans formed their first Bouchercon in Santa Monica, California in 1970. This assembly of fans created their own Anthony awards beginning in 1986.

The man, who won the most Edgars under the three mentioned categories, is Dick Francis. He won three times for Forfeit (1970), Whip Hand (1981) and Come to Grief (1996). Seven other authors, including James Lee Burke, William DeAndrea, Steve Hamilton, John Hart, Gregory McDonald, T. Jefferson Parker and Ross Thomas have won the Edgar twice.

The greatest winner of the Anthony Award has won five times. Laura Lippman won for Butcher’s Hill (1999), In Big Trouble (2000) and No Good Deeds (2007) all part of the Tess Monaghan mystery series. She also won for two stand alones, Every Secret Thing (2004) and What the Dead Know (2008). Runner up is Michael Connelly with four Anthony Awards. He won for The Poet (1997), Blood Work (1999), City of Bones (2003) and The Brass Verdict (2009). Sue Grafton and William Kent Krueger have each won three Anthony Awards.

For those who prefer a lighter, cozier approach to mysteries there is the Agatha Award, which started their mystery writing awards back in 1988. The big winner in the Best Novel category is Louise Penny, who has won four Agathas in a row (2007-2010) along with two Anthony Awards. Carolyn Hart, Margaret Maron and Nancy Pickard have each won an Agatha three times. Hart and Maron have won two Anthony Awards.

Looking through all the award-winning names, I was surprised at how many of them I have not read. I was hoping to figure out how many winners won for stand-alones, and how many winning books were part of a mystery series. It seems the answer to that question will have to wait just a little longer.

Understanding Who Qualifies to Refinance a VA Loan

The U.S. Veterans Affairs Administration has helped provide home loans for veterans since 1944. The program allows both veterans and active duty service members to get affordable mortgages that the VA guarantees to be repaid to lenders. The program has been expanded to include refinancing these loans, and certain qualifications apply.

Use of VA Loan Eligibility

In order to qualify for a refinance loan through the VA, you must have used your eligibility for the initial home. In other words, it must be a VA loan to VA refinance. A new Certificate of Eligibility is not required. Your previous Certificate of Eligibility serves as proof of the use of your entitlement.

Loan Limits

VA refinance loans are subject to certain loan limits as defined by the program. These limits cap the amount of liability for repayment required by the program. Each county determines the amount of loan limit. Generally, lenders will approve up to four times the basic entitlement amount of $36,000 for a home loan, without a down payment.

Funding Fee

A funding fee is required for all those who apply for loans through the VA Guaranteed Loan Program. Payment of the fee is required at closing on the loan. You can either pay the funding fee in cash or roll it into the financing of the property. Funding fees can range from 0.5 percent to 3.3 percent. Funding fees for the second use of your eligibility are generally higher than the first use. Certain veterans with disabilities and surviving spouses are not required to pay a funding fee.

Interest Rate Reduction Refinance Loan

The program allows refinancing up to 100 percent of the home’s value. Although credit checks and new appraisals are not required under the program, lenders may impose these requirements under their own rules. Unlike a VA Purchase Loan, you do not have to certify that you will occupy the home. You must only certify that you have previously occupied it. The IRRRL program cannot be used to pay off a second mortgage. Generally, the second mortgage must be approved. Your current mortgage payments must be up to date, with no more than one 30-day late payment within the past year.

Cash-Out Refinance Loan

If you wish to take cash out of your home for medical costs, children’s college or home improvement costs, the VA offers a Cash-Out Refinancing Program that allows you to use your equity to finance these major expenses. The above qualifications apply similarly for these loans. You may also refinance as much as 100 percent of the value of the property. Unlike the IRRL loan, a credit report, income verification and property appraisal are required. You must also certify that you will occupy the home being refinanced.

Certain costs associated with refinancing can increase the cost of the loan to a greater amount than the fair market value of the property. These costs can include state and local taxes, discount points and other closing costs. Applicants for refinancing should always take these additional costs into account when determining if refinancing their VA loan is a favorable idea.

How to Stop Dating Duds and Find a Man Who Makes You Happy

You’ve fielded profile pictures of men who didn’t bother to put on a shirt, endured first dates with clowns who asked about your favorite sexual position, and yawned through coffee with guys who yammered on and on about themselves.

You asked yourself, “Is this as good as it gets?”

And then, if you’re like too many women, you went home and said to yourself, “I wonder if he likes me.”

Because of the unnecessary pressure society puts on females to marry (yes, even in 2012), some women are so focused on getting a second date, getting a relationship off the ground, and finally getting to show up at a family event with a ring on their finger, they can’t think straight. It doesn’t matter if they’re 20 or 64.

They don’t know if they’re being too picky. They don’t know if they’re not being picky enough. They ignore a man’s obvious faults (a man who freaks out when he forgets where he left the car now will be hell on wheels later). Tip: Don’t date anyone who exhibits qualities you wouldn’t accept in a friend.

Next time you come home from a date, ask yourself a new question: “Do I like him?”

But, before you can answer that question, you have to know what you want in a man. Do you know? Here’s how to find out:

Write down a list of the qualities you don’t want in a man. Think back to all the clods who disappointed you. Now list their most rotten qualities. If you had a bad relationship with your father, think about his less-than-stellar traits and list them, too. Then, find the opposite for each of those qualities and put them on paper.

For example: You dated a cheater. You want the opposite of a cheater. Jot “faithful” on your list.

Writing down the qualities you want helps you to recognize a man who possesses those qualities. The very act of putting down in black and white what you want helps ensure you get what you want.

Another thing: Have you ever been on the fence about a guy you’re dating? A list of the qualities you desire helps you determine whether you should keep seeing him or not. After you get home, consult that trusty piece of paper with your desires on it, and see how the man measures up.

This may sound silly to you. It may sound too simple to work. Do it anyway. Do it now.

A lot of women date the same type of guy over and over again. They’re drawn to that type. The same type of men are also drawn to those women, but when a woman steps back and decides where she’s gone wrong, she can break the pattern. Once she knows what will make her truly happy, she’s less likely to be attracted to her former type. (And if she is attracted, she’s armed with the awareness to give a faulty guy the slip.)

If you’ve tried online dating, you know there are a lot of faulty guys out there looking for action. But once you’ve written your list, you can set your bar for better men. Excellent men exist, but you have to weed out the duds before you can find them.

(NOTE: Having high standards is not the same thing as being critical. A man who mistakes a salad fork for a dinner fork may be a much better catch than some guy who takes phone calls during dinner. Having high standards is not the same thing as being unfriendly. Smile. Be welcoming. Always make a man glad he met you. You can decide if you like him when you get home.)

And once you set your bar, keep it high.

That means, if you don’t want sex, don’t let some clown coax you into checking out the art collection he keeps in his apartment. If you want a laid back man, don’t date anyone who gives a waitress a hard time.

Also, never mistake a series of text messages for a relationship. Text messages are merely words on a screen. Devious men (and women) have been known to send the same flirtatious text to multiple unwitting recipients. Remember, relationships are built eye-to-eye. If a man wants you, let him make time for you. Let him reach for you.

High standards may keep you alone longer, but wouldn’t you rather be alone than waste life fretting about some jerk who treats you like a yo-yo? Use your time alone to love yourself, to treat yourself as you want a man to treat you (how do you want a man to treat you? Have you thought about it?). Always talk to yourself as you would a beloved child.

Men will start to pick up on this. Correction: Better men will start to pick up on this.

Don’t waste your time with any guy who doesn’t treat you as well as you treat yourself. Set your sights on a happy, satisfying, drama-free relationship. You don’t have time for anything else.

This is your life we’re talking about.

What is the Percentage of Married Men Who Cheat Again?

I get asked this question quite a bit. Women who are considering trying to save their marriage after their husband has cheated are trying to gauge how likely it is that he’s going to repeat this behavior and cheat again. Because dealing with this once is extremely hard, but many people worry that dealing with it more than once is going to be impossible. So, it’s understandable that you want to know the chances of your husband cheating again. I will go into this in more detail in the following article.

Once A Cheater Always A Cheater? Is This True No Matter What?: When infidelity happened to me, I found that many (but not all) of my friends had no faith in my ability to rehabilitate my marriage completely. Many told me that I would probably never be able to fully trust my husband again since most men who cheat turn out to be repeat offenders. We’ve all heard the saying “once a cheater always a cheater.” But how true is this? And are there different factors that determine who is going to be repeat offender? Does getting counseling and doing the right things make it more likely that the husband won’t cheat again? I have different opinions on all of these questions, but I can tell you what studies and statistics indicate. Here’s a look at some of them.

Statistically speaking (and probably to no one’s surprise) men have more opportunities for infidelity than women. And the numbers seem to back this up. There are many studies about husbands and wives who cheat, but most studies indicate that husbands are slightly more likely to cheat than wives. The numbers that I found range anywhere from 22 to 37 percent of husband being unfaithful and anywhere from 14 to 22 percent of wives having affairs or cheating.

So while these numbers show us that there are plenty of cheating spouses out there, they don’t tell us how many of these folks are repeat offenders who have cheated more than once. The numbers that I could find indicate that only 15 – 20 percent of people who cheat do so again and become repeat offenders. This is better statistics that many of us expect and I find that many people are shocked to know that only approximately 18% of divorces are due to infidelity. I have learned than more people than I would have ever thought are able to save their marriages after one spouse cheats.

Safeguarding Your Marriage From Repeat Cheating: Many couples are able to identify and then address what went wrong so that they do not have to go through this issue again. Many people assume that cheating and affairs are based solely on sex, but this just is not usually true. Often, it has more to do with a lack of self esteem, a lack of impulse control and a feeling of being disconnected, misunderstood and unappreciated on the part of the spouse who cheated.

What’s really interesting is that there are some factors which can contribute to married spouses cheating more than once. The one that surprised me the most was the people with whom the cheating spouse hangs around with. One study indicated that men who cheated were more than 77 percent more likely to have a best friend who had also cheated. Also, men or husbands are more likely to cheat if their father has cheated.

So, it can make a lot of sense to take a look at your husband’s friends and male family members. Because often, it’s a culture of acceptance toward cheating that you will want to address. Many men are surrounded by other men who insinuate that “all men cheat” and that this is just the normal way that the world works.

Also, there are often contributing factors in the marriage that work with cultural aspects (whether at work, in our society, or in the family,) to make your marriage more vulnerable to infidelity. No marriage is perfect. But being aware, proactive, and having open communication combined with a sense of connectedness can go a long way toward making sure that your marriage is not one of the ones who has to deal with cheating more than once.

Because the changes that a marriage can survive cheating goes down with each affair or instance of cheating. So it makes sense to do what you need to do to safeguard your marriage in the future. And studies do show that couples who receive help in dealing with this are more likely to not have to revisit this again than those who just brush the affair under the rug and attempt to move on too quickly.

Tips to Find a Good Bankruptcy Lawyer Who Will Provide the Necessary Legal Services

Bankruptcy is quite a serious matter and there is nothing worse for an individual or a corporation than having to file for bankruptcy. It can affect many people and ruin their careers and lives and render them completely helpless. The very word bankruptcy means a legal state of being unable to repay debts that one owes to the creditors. It is also sometimes referred to as insolvency. It can happen to both individual and organizations. Creditors will normally file a bankruptcy petition in an endeavor to recover a part of the money payable to them by the company or organization when bankruptcy happens to an organization. When it happens to an individual then they get buried in so much debt that they find it impossible to recover from it, and have no other option but to file for bankruptcy.

Therefore, whether it happens to an individual or an organization, it is absolutely necessary to seek the services of a bankruptcy lawyer who is well acquainted with bankruptcy law and will be able to shield you against the petition filed by the creditors. The bankruptcy lawyers are quite expensive and they will only render their services once you convince them that it is possible for you to bear their fees, and pay them on time. But since they are expensive and since your entire financial future depends on their expertise you should be careful as to whom you hire and follow some guidelines while looking for a good bankruptcy lawyer.

  1. The first step in hiring a bankruptcy lawyer is to look for an experienced lawyer who has the necessary expertise to handle any kind of bankruptcy. Remember that your future is in the hands of this individual who will represent you in the court of law. It is their knowledge and expertise which will determine how your case unfolds in the court and what is your chance of winning the case.
  2. It will be prudent to do some background research before you hire an expensive bankruptcy lawyer. Ask your colleagues, friends, neighbors, or any of your acquaintances who have gone through the same ordeal or knows someone who have required the services of a bankruptcy lawyer. Internet search can also throw back results about the lawyers in your location and their specialties. Yellow pages can also be a good source from where you can get hold of a lawyer. Any bankruptcy lawyer that is working in your area should be listed there and hence as per your requirements you can get the contact details of such a lawyer. Just look into the bankruptcy section and you will immediately give a list of all bankruptcy lawyers in your area.
  3. Once you have listed the lawyers in your area, it is time for some background checks on the list and then pick one from the list. Through the internet, it is easy to get information on the lawyers and their case histories, their success rate, and client feedbacks. You can also ask for a review on the lawyer you are interested in, by calling up the court and asking them for a review. You will also be able to check which bankruptcy lawyer has the majority number of winning cases. Also important is to find out which bankruptcy lawyer has the maximum experience of working in your area and the local court, because that will mean that the particular lawyer will have good rapport with the court officials. Hiring lawyer who has a winning streak but belongs to another state is a bad idea, because laws change from one state to another and a lawyer who is working in another state may not be successful in your state, as he won’t have enough information to fight your case.
  4. A consultation session is a must once you have shortlisted two or three lawyers. You can always cal up and request them to meet you for a consultation session. These sessions are usually free of the lawyers’ billing time. If a lawyer demands money for this session, it will be best to avoid that lawyer. This session will be the deal maker, and will certainly help you make that final decision regarding which lawyer is best suited to fight your case.

The current world is dominated by credit card users, and people fall into debts because it is difficult to keep a check on the spending for most people who enjoy the good life. But the result can be huge debts which have led to the increase in bankruptcy petitions which in turn has resulted in an increase in demand for bankruptcy lawyers. The above tips can be used as a guideline for finding the right lawyer as there are risks for a lay person without any knowledge of legal matters to bump into a money grabbing legal monster who is only interested in making a few extra bucks while offering poor legal services in return.

Disconnected Cell Phone Search – How to Find Out Who That Disconnected Phone Number Belongs To

Did you recently find a phone number on a scrap of paper with no information with it, only to call the number and find out it’s been disconnected? Finding the owner of a disconnected cell phone number can be troublesome!

If it’s a land line number, all you have to do is hop onto your favorite search engine, plug the number in, and the search engine will spout out all kinds of information for you. For cell phones that just won’t work since they are private numbers and the owners information is protected. You could go one step further and hire a private investigator, but that will just cost way too much money and likely take weeks.

One of the best solutions available is to use a reverse cell phone service to perform a disconnected cell phone search. Reverse cell online databases are like white pages mobile numbers. You’ll be amazed at all the information you can find out: name, location, occupation, present and past addresses, marital status, etc. Some of these searches will even give you background and/or financial information.

Reverse cell phone directories pay a substantial amount of money to be able to access this private information, so you won’t be able to get it for free. If a company does, beware as it may be a scam. Once you have access to these databases, which contain over 200 million cell phone numbers, you will have unlimited power to find as many phone numbers as you like. It’s reasonably priced, only takes a few minutes, and it’s completely confidential. Log on now to continue your disconnected cell phone search!

Serving the Military Who Serve Us All Year Long

Since Memorial Day is fast approaching, I would like to thank those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for America. I would also like to remember and thank all our veterans, active duty members, and their families on this very special weekend.

For the other 364 days of the year, over 72 credit unions around the country, with a specific field of membership of the military, are serving our servicemen and women when they need assistance with their finances.

Beyond these military credit unions, others around the U.S. are serving 1,429,995 active Navy, Marines, Air Force and Army personnel that maintain a gap between financial knowledge and those that actually maintain a personal relationship with a credit union or a bank. Further complicating the issue is that most military personnel are from the millennial generation, who don’t have a lot of trust in financial institutions.

Life is not simple for members of the military. They are frequently on the move, work abnormal hours, travel or even live overseas. This makes simple financial transactions like ATM access, deposits and money transfers extremely difficult. These young military men and women face unique financial challenges and are prime candidates for credit union membership.

• 27% of service members have credit card debt that exceeds $10,000. That’s compared to only 16% of civilians.

• Spouses of the military maintain a 26% unemployment rate and earn 25% less than non-military.

How Can Credit Unions Help This Segment of the Population?

• Offer credit cards specifically for the military and lower rates for consolidation loans.

• Provide financial products that offer specific incentives for smart money management behaviors.

• Feature first-time vehicle purchase discount programs for military families with little or no credit.

• Provide educational seminars for home buying, investments and retirement.

• Promote financial counseling programs to teach military members about credit reports and credit history, and personal money management.

• Maintain payroll deduction services to help personnel pay off loans directly from their salary or pensions.

• Maintain job boards and career counseling to support the service families in their area.

• Discounts on services and even theme park tickets are offered as a way to say “thank you for your service.”

If you are a veteran or military spouse and are considering opening a small business, consider joining a credit union for your banking needs. They offer incredible advantages for small business owners and because they are member owned, they always act in their member’s best interest.

Obviously there are many credit unions around the country that are aiding the financial needs of the U.S. military. Their service to the military isn’t just about business. It’s about providing outstanding financial products and services that our nation’s heroes deserve.
