Polaris Ranger and RZR Fuel Pump Problems – Is Your Polaris Ranger Running Poorly?

We really like the ride of the Polaris UTVs. Unfortunately, we have noticed that Polaris built the RZR, RZR-S, and Ranger XP with an unreliable fuel pump. In fact, the fuel pump is one of the main problems we see at our service and performance shop. The symptoms you typically experience when your pump is failing are poor upper RPM performance, a loss of top speed and poor acceleration. This definitely makes your Polaris much less fun to drive, but even more importantly, a fuel pump problem can cause your engine devastating damage by not supplying enough fuel. When your engine doesn’t receive the required fuel it will run lean.

This creates heat which can cause detonation in the combustion chamber. The worst case scenario (and we have seen this many times) is that the intense heat will actually melt a hole in your piston. Here is what happens. After some usage the pump will wear and then drop from the factory PSI setting of 39 psi, to the low 30s. When your upper revs are sluggish you just aren’t getting any fuel. To test this install a fuel pressure gauge at your tank outlet. You can buy these at NAPA or PEP Boys. It is necessary that you rev your engine when testing because many times the pressure will be good at idle but not at the upper RPMs.

To replace your pump with the OEM fuel pump you will need to spend upwards of $600. The high price is because it is only available with the complete fuel tank assembly. Fortunately you can purchase a replacement fuel pump which will work on most Polaris S X S vehicles. Replacement pumps come with color instructions and include everything you will need for installation. Generally they can be installed in about 30 minutes with simple hand tools. The pump plugs right in with no wiring needed.

If you are experiencing poor performance with your Polaris Ranger or RZR this may be your problem. Check out your fuel PSI and if needed get a replacement fuel pump. You bought your Polaris to have some great times. Now you can get back on your UTV and enjoy its top performance once again. As a sidenote this same problematic fuel pump is used in many of the fuel injected Polaris quads. If you own a Polaris ATV and you are having similar symptoms simply follow the same procedure for testing the PSI. Replacement pumps are also available for the Polaris Sportsman.

Running a Weekend Retreat for the Fear of Public Speaking

With public speaking as the world’s number one fear, you would imagine that there was greater access and resources to affect its alleviation.

The most important thing when planning a retreat is the venue. The venue has got to be right. A busy hotel in the middle of town, hundreds of guests and noisy distractions will not create the correct ambiance for your students. Roads generate traffic, car horns and people desperately frustrated to get somewhere quickly.

So we need a venue which is secluded, small and out of town, ideally in rolling countryside. It must also be accessible by public transport and not too far away from a large town or city. The choice of venue will make or break your event. So being away from it all, surrounded by greenery has a profoundly calming effect. You want to create a reflective and calm environment for your class and they’ll appreciate that effort.

The main auditorium where you’ll be working should be light, airy and spacious. Some of the activities work well with tables and chairs, other activities require the group to work together in an open space. It’s best to arrange the details in advance with the venue, giving them student numbers and a detailed room plan.

In a perfect world, the venue will also provide suitably priced accommodation. This must be checked for appropriateness before you start advertising the event. If the venue does not have enough or suitable accommodation, then ask the question, is this the correct venue? Alternatively, you will have to visit and assess all the local hotels and B&Bs and ensure that they are going to be of the required standard for you guests.

This creates quite a burden in terms of time, collating information and putting it together as part of your information pack. However, as part of good customer service, if you do all of the preparatory work on behalf of your guests, it will help them come to the conclusion that you’re a serious business and that you care for their needs.

There is also the opportunity to identify a number of different types of accommodation at different budgets. Again, giving your guests options really shows that you care.

The next consideration is food. It’s not just an army that marches on its stomach. Again, in the ideal world scenario, the venue will be able to provide quality food on site, and manage special dietary requirements. If the accommodation is on site, it’s great if the students can eat together as it is part of the shared experience. If the venue doesn’t serve evening food, it’s useful to find a local pub or inexpensive restaurant where the students can dine and commune together. This togetherness is a major aspect of the group’s cohesiveness and should be key feature of the weekend.

The group dynamic is all important in this type of course. If you choose your venue carefully and plan the weekend thoroughly, chances are you will create a memorable learning experience for your students. Good luck!

When You Run Your Fingers Through Your Hair, How Many Hairs Should Come Out?

The other day, I had someone email me and say, in part: “every time I run my fingers through my hair, at least ten hairs come out into my hands. I could do this all day long with no end in sight. I know that this number is too high. But how many hairs would be normal in this situation?” I’ll try to answer this question in the following article.

Normal Daily Hair Loss Is Typically A Small Percentage Of Your Total Hair Volume: You will often read that it’s “normal” or “typical” to lose up to 100 strands of hair per day. However, what you often won’t read is that this number is based on the idea that it’s also “normal” for 10%-15% of the total hairs on your head to be in the resting phase at one time. So, if you have less or more hair than the average person, then your typical loss could be more or less than this number.

Additionally, as hair loss and shedding progresses, the number that is considered to be low enough not to worry about will also decrease, since the number of strands on your head is also decreasing. Therefore, even if you are using the same percentages, the sum should be less. Simply put, in this scenario, the person is working with less strands than they started with, so they therefore can afford to lose less if they are hoping to maintain the same volume that they have always had.

Variables That Can Influence How Much Hair Comes Out In Your Hands: Another thing to consider is when you tried this experiment. If you’ve very recently shampooed, you might find that you lose more because the manipulation that comes with washing loosens many of the strands that were waiting to fall out. Likewise, many people will find that less hairs come out in their hands after they have just brushed. This is because brushing will remove many of the lose strands. Probably the best time to try this is a few hours after you have brushed on a day that you have not recently shampooed. This will ensure that it’s not manipulation that is causing much of the loss.

How Many Hairs Do Most People Lose After Running Their Fingers Through It?: This can be a tough question to answer because of the variables that I’ve just discussed. Everyone has a varying amount of hair that is going to “normal” for them. And this can change based on what has just happened with their regimen. What’s perfectly fine for one person may result in greatly decreased volume for another. Generally speaking though, I have seen this question posed on many hair loss forums and I tried it myself during times when I was actively shedding and when my hair was completely normal.

Most of the time, people who are not shedding will come away with between 2 and 5 hairs without this being worrisome for them. If they’ve recently brushed, they may not come away with anything at all. Often, if you see more strands than this, it may be because you have just washed or manipulated your hair or because you are losing or shedding more strands than normal for some reason.

People who have shedding for reasons like telogen effluvium, androgenic alopecia, or allergic reactions can come away with large numbers of strands in this situation. I’ve had people tell me that they were easily able to come away with 10 – 20 strands and that this was true no matter how many times they tried this experiment. Keep in mind though that your doctor is much better equipped to help evaluate your hair loss than any experiment that you might try on your own.

Time is Running Out Fast For Real Estate Bargain Hunters

WARNING! If you are serious about buying a home in 2010, you might not have much time left! With recession of 2007-2009 fading into history, buyers are returning to the real estate market in droves. However, what most of the buyers don’t realize is that there are many forces working against them that might make it difficult to find real bargains comes spring and summer. Here are five main forces shaping up the market early this year, and you better pay attention to them:

1. Under the provisions of the massive stimulus package designed to support the housing market, the Fed has been buying mortgage securities for over a year in order to maintain liquidity in the housing market, which also artificially supported the rates at sub-5% level. However, this part of the stimulus ER is winding down by March, and it’s already driving the rates higher in anticipation of the program grand finale. What does it mean for the mortgage market? It means that comes March or April, you will not find rates in low or mid-5% any more. The consensus of most economists and finance journalists is that we will have 6% mortgages by the summer time. What it means for you? Have your loan approved and lock the rate no later than Mid-February!

2. With “normal market” demand for mortgage backed securities still very low, the lenders will tighten their underwriting guidelines even more. The preview of this was demonstrated in December of 2009, when following FNMA and Freddy all lenders increased credit score requirements for prime mortgages by 20 to 40 points, FHA followed them with the increase of the minimum score from 595 to 620, and some lenders made 640 as a minimum score for FHA or any other government-backed loans. Comes summer, the credit system most probably will tighten even more, as the banks will have a much smaller market to sell their loans to, which will force them to pick only cream of the crop borrowers to bet on. If you are not one of them, you might need to have at least 25-30% down, ratios below 30% and 750 score in order to have any chance for a home loan.

3. Unnoticed to the buyers, the Government passed a number of new laws in the last two years, of course all of them were done under highly publicized slogans of helping Joe the Consumer. In reality, these new laws practically eliminated a mortgage broker as a viable player in the market place. The government blamed the brokers for pushing “creative” mortgage products onto uneducated consumers who couldn’t afford to pay for them, however the reality is that the brokers were only selling products pushed to the public by BANKS! Truth is that the brokers don’t offer their own products, brokers don’t participate in the meetings of the banks’ boards of directors who decide which financial products to offer to the public, brokers only sell what the banks offer if the public demands it. In 2006 the brokers were responsible for 60% of all loans originated in this country, by the first quarter of 2010 – less than 5%! Why should you be concerned about it? Very simple: while enjoying practically unlimited access to billions and trillions of your taxpayer dollars, the banks succeeded in eliminating the only serious market force that kept their mortgage rates competitive in the last decade. With brokers gone, all loan origination now goes to retail banks with their “friendly and knowledgeable” staff who doesn’t give a rat if you buy their mortgage today at 7% or not, because they are on salary paid for by your savings deposits and unfair bank fees, and because your only alternative is to go to a retail branch of another bank, where you will face just as much competence and desire to lower rates as at the first branch. Consider this: The banks quietly managed to monopolize a market worth $10-15 TRILLION DOLLARS, and their profits (spread between your mortgage rate and the current Fed Rate, which is a 0%) per loan are the highest they’ve been in history! Now, did you get a thank you postcard from your bank’s CEO last year for helping the banks out with some free money?

4. Home buyer tax credit program winds down in April too. You must be in escrow by April 30th and close the escrow no later than June, which means that in March/April we will see crowds of late-comers last-minute shoppers trying to take advantage of the program and the inventory of homes, especially in 200-400K price range will be under serious pressure from the buyers, just like we saw in October and November of 2009, before it became known that the tax credit program will be extended. This time it is different – there will be no more extensions. This was the final extension, and those who missed an opportunity to take advantage of this program because there was no inventory on the market, will try to buy something this time around.

5. Traditionally, March is the first month of the official buying season in San Diego. In my 10-year spreadsheet, March sales represent an average of 30-50% increase in the number of closed sales over February of the same year! Believe me that this year will be no different. However, those who wake up late and start shopping for a house in March will face a much tougher competition and will be forced to bid up on properties beyond what they will reasonably appraise for, which will force the buyers to increase their downpayment or get discouraged and end up on the sidelines again.

Housing market has been battered enough to the point where even the bitter pessimists started talking about a turnaround. Some are still talking about some massive “shadow inventory” of homes that the banks are supposedly holding back to avoid the market collapse and that when it finally comes, the market will tank, however, this talk has been perpetuated since late 2008 and nobody knows when and if this inventory will ever enter the market. Today the banks can dump four or five-times more inventory on the market, where home attract 10-30 offers in the first week, and the buyers will just swallow them and move on.

So, what should you do now in order to take advantage of the situation in what’s left of the true bargain hunting season?

1. Get your loan pre-qualified right now, don’t wait for that tax refund to hit your bank account. If you need to borrow money from the relatives for the downpayment, do it, you can pay it back with the tax credit money, with your tax refund, or do their laundry for the next 30 years, but get your loan fully approved at the highest possible amount and have it available when you are making offers. Nobody seriously looks at your offers today unless you can attach a solid loan approval together with a proof of funds for downpayment.

2. Make sure you have a clear idea what you are looking for and make sure it’s realistic. Don’t ask your agent to send you everything from Bonsal to San Ysidro in 100K to 800K range and expect to work with that agent. Sit down with your agent, outline the areas, types of properties you will target, maximum monthly payments including HOA, Mello Roos, property taxes, home insurance, utility bills and anything else that will become your monthly responsibility. Knowing what you want helps you achieve just that four-times faster!

3. Use technology to your advantage. There are many real estate websites that allow you to set up an automated search page and to receive listings that match your criteria the minute the listings hit the market, or with any other regularity of your choice. Such automated tools allow you to gain an “unfair advantage” over majority of other non-technically savvy buyers and realtors: if you are the first one to know about the listings, you have the advantage of making your offers before everybody else.

4. Make offers, more offers and some more offers! In sub-$300,000 price range in most areas of San Diego it takes now 20-30 offers before you get one accepted, so be patient, but also smart about it. Make offers on realistic listings, where you have a better chance of getting your offer accepted. If you have an FHA loan, don’t go after “investor flip” listings, FHA won’t allow it for 90 days after their original purchase date. Don’t make offers on short sale listings, where the listing agent sends ALL offers to the lender and waits for six months for the lender to accept one offer, which turns the process into a prolonged auction. Don’t subject yourself to some REO listings if the REO listing broker insists on seeing my buyers’ first-borne child, DNA tests and pre-approval by the lender of the listing broker’s choice BEFORE they will even look at your offer. (By the way, whenever the REO agent is asking for the pre-approval by their lender, understand that it’s done solely to facilitate a sales pitch by that lender, so complain about it to California Department of Real Estate, tell them that in your opinion it is against the spirit of California AB957 “Buyer’s Choice Act” of 2009, especially if you already have your pre-approval from another lender in place! If you end up putting 20 offers on REO listings, does it mean that you have to get pre-approved by 20 lenders BEFORE you even know if your offer is going to be accepted? Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?)

5. Be creative! If you can’t get what you want directly, look for other ways of achieving the same results. Consider buying a fixer upper and using a rehab loan to do the repairs, consider buying a smaller house and they adding square footage to your desired size of home, consider new construction, lease-options, seller carry-backs or other creative ways of getting in the house. Become familiar with these creative strategies, they may be your ticket to homeownership today.

This is not the time to procrastinate and wait for your April tax refund before you start shopping for a house. Act now, and take advantage of the last several months of the BEST time to buy a house in the last several decades!

Running MetaTrader in Windows 7 or Vista, Solving Permissions Issue

If you are operating windows Vista or Windows 7 your MetaTrader plattform might not be running correctly. The most common issues include:

* Metatrader won’t update to the most current version

* Charts / indicators / experts will not save when Metatrader restarts.

* It can’t save history to run back testing.

* Expert advisors won’t run.

* It cannot open a demo account.

* Username and password doesn’t get saved on restart.

* User are unable to save files on Expert folder.

The cause for these issues is that beginning with Windows Vista Microsoft changed the default security settings for the “Program Files” folder, making it so MetaTrader might not be able to save all necessary data to the Hard Drive, this new characteristic on Windows is called User Account Control or UAC.

Note: Windows Vista protects “systemroot” files and folders with permissions created for Windows Resource Protection (WRP), which may only be accessed by the System service. Administrators can read system files and folders but cannot write to them. Note that this differs from previous versions of Windows.

Source: Microsoft Web Site about UAC

There are several ways to fix this issue. Some require you to reinstall MetaTrader on a different folder and some require you to run complex command prompt tasks:

Option 1) The best way to resolve the UAC issue is to install MetaTrader in a different folder from its default location. When installing MetaTrader 4 just after the license agreement, it is possible to change the installation folder for example from C:\Program Files\BestDirect\MT4 to C:\MetaTrader\1MT4.

Then continue with the installation as usual and your MetaTrader 4 will run with no issues.

Option 2) Change the folder permission of the folder where MetaTrader is already installed, this is usually a good option if you have many instances of MetaTrader installed in your system and don’t wish to reinstall them.

a) Find in the windows explorer the folder where you have installed MetaTrader 4, right-click the folder and then click Properties.

b) This will open the property screen for this folder and on the Security tab click on Edit

c) A new screen will open, choose Users, check Full control (Allow) and then Apply.

Choose Trusted Installer, check Full control (Allow) and then Apply.

Select Administrators, check Full control (Allow) and then Apply.

d) Click all OK and you are done.

Option 3) Change the folder permission utilizing the command prompt, this is the most difficult option for non experienced users.

a) Press the Win keyboard key or click on Start button.

b) Type cmd into the Start/Search textbox.

c) Just before pressing enter press and hold Ctrl+Shift then hit the Enter key.

Ctrl+Shift+Enter is the keyboard shortcut that triggers the user elevation to “Run as Administrator”

d) Press continue to confirm the UAC elevation warning prompt.

e) Type the text below in the the command prompt window, substitute the text in “quotes” with the folder path of your MetaTrader installation:

icacls “C:\Program Files (x86)\FXCM MT4 powered by BT” /t /grant %UserDomain%\%UserName%:(OI)(CI)F

f) Hit enter and the command will run for a couple of seconds and it should end with a success message.

It is vital for expert advisors to be able to save information to the hard drive; we highly suggest you follow this tutorial to have your MetaTrader Installation running smoothly.

4 Benefits of Running Shoes for Athletes

According to Elizabeth McLeod Sadler, running shoes offer a lot of benefits. For instance, if you put on running shoes each time before you go out and run, you can experience a reduction in your blood pressure and weight. Plus, this practice will improve your lung capacity as well. Although you don’t have a lot of options when it comes to opting for useful equipment, you can at least buy a good pair of sports shoes. These shoes offer better cushioning, arch sport and help prevent possible injuries while you are on the ground. Let’s get a deeper insight into the benefits.

Midsole Foot Cushioning

According to the reports from the American Council on Exercise, running shoes offer a lot of benefits but midsole cushioning is on the list of most important benefits. As the name suggests, the midsole refers to the area between the heel and ball of your feet.

Another report from the American College of Sports Medicine explains that sports shoes can help reduce the stress your toes, ankles, and the heel has to tolerate. As a result, the players find it easier, safer and more comfortable to play. Also, proper cushioning can help you reduce your hip, knee and back pain.

Arch Support

If you have flat feet, arch support is of paramount importance for you, especially if you are going to follow an exercise routine. There is no doubt that the arch support of a pair of shoes is one of the most important benefits for sportsmen.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, if you have flat feet, you might want to consult a good exercise physiologist or physical therapist so you can opt for the right pair of sports shoes. Although you may experience better arch stability by wearing running shoes, you can still enjoy some benefits even if you have a high arch.

Injury Prevention

Another benefit is that you can help prevent different types of injury if you put on sports shoes before each game. As a matter of fact, the arch support and midsole cushioning can help prevent different types of overuse injuries like joint pain, stress fractures, and tendonitis, just to name a few.

While barefoot running has got a lot of popularity these days, the risk of scrapes and cuts is quite high. According to the American Council on Exercise, sports shoes offer outsole protection, which is important if you want to prevent feet injury.

Better Athletic Performance

If you wear the right type of footwear, you may deliver much better athletic performance than other players. According to the research studies by the American Council on Exercise, you can deliver better performance due to a lot of factors like higher running capacity and comfort. Therefore, competitive runners can enjoy a lot of benefits if they opt for sports shoes instead of regular ones. In fact, even if you are not going to take part in a competition, you can still enjoy many benefits.

So, these are a few benefits of running shoes that you can enjoy as an athlete.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder – OCD and Excessive Walking Or Running

I know what this is like because I used to do it.

When you feel like you have to walk or something bad will happen to you or in relation to your OCD, then you have OCD of the kind of walking excessively or running excessively.

There are sometimes people who deal with their OCD by walking or running and just basically trying to walk or run their way away from the symptoms. This happens way before they actually turn to drugs. If you turn to drugs, make sure it’s prescription drugs that were prescribed to you by a professional.

This one is more difficult because if walking and running help you which they should because those activities release calming chemicals in the brain, it’s important to note that if it gets in the way of doing normal activities like work, family, school, church, etc. That this is OCD and you need to stop or limit it to a certain time.

If you find that when you try to limit it, you get back into being obsessive about it to the point that if you feel like if you don’t do it, something bad will happen, it would be a good idea to stop for a while. Or go with a jogging or walking buddy and have them stop you when they deem appropriate.

Take action: In order to deal with this type of OCD of walking excessively or running excessively is that you need to limit yourself. In nature, anything in excess is bad. Part of becoming OCD is realizing that a balance has to be achieved in your life.

The IRS Wants to Know, Are You Running a Business or a Hobby?

Being a small business owner brings with it a whole host of challenges. Not only are you concerned with taking care of your client’s needs, getting paid and paying your vendors. You also have to be concerned with staying compliant with federal and state laws as well as local guidelines. Small business owners, especially sole proprietors, are at an increased risk of audit. The federal government believes that self-employed people are grossly under-reporting their income and over-reporting their expenses. According to the website Tax Help Online, “You might be shocked to learn that 20% of all small business audits involve disallowing deductions because the IRS reclassifies the small business as a hobby under the so-called ‘hobby loss’ rule.” Internal Revenue Code Section 183 (Activities Not Engaged in For Profit) limits deductions that can be claimed when an activity is not engaged in for profit. IRC 183 is sometimes referred to as the “hobby loss rule”. As a small business owner, it is your responsibility to make sure your business is viewed as a legitimate business in the eyes of the IRS and not a hobby.

Below, I have listed some smart business practices that will not only help you define and grow your business, but will also help you document that you are running a real business and not just performing a hobby.

1) Write a business plan. There are lots of local small business support centers that can help you to put your plan in writing. For example, the Small Business Administration has both local and online resources to assist you.

2) Determine your legal structure (LLC, Partnership, C-Corporation, S-Corporation, Sole-Proprietor).

3) Obtain an Employee Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS.

4) Open a separate bank account for all of your business transactions (deposits and expenses). You need to keep your personal and business transactions separate.

5) Establish a separate line of credit or credit card to use with your business. Put personal expenses on a personal card and put business expenses on a business card.

6) Keep your business documents organized. The National Federation of Independent Business recommends keeping business records and receipts for at least seven years.

7) File completed tax returns on time. This would include all required schedules and signatures. Depending on the type of organization you have, you or your CPA will be filling out forms like 1020, 1065, 1040 Schedule C, 1096, 1099, 940 along with calculating your self-employed tax. I highly recommend finding a local Certified Public Accountant (CPA) that is familiar with your industry to help you determine which forms you will be required to file and making sure they are submitted on time and to the right government office.

8) Hire a support team: A lawyer can help you with your legal structure and a Certified Public Accountant can help you keep your finances in order as well as keeping you compliant with local, state and federal government.

9) Create industry standard business documents and forms to include: logo, letterhead, business cards, and website.

10) Advertise in your local media along with appropriate trade periodicals.

According to IRS document, FS-2008-23, below are some of the questions that the IRS may ask when determining if your business is engaged in for-profit activity. You will need to be prepared to answer these questions and provide documentation.

1) How many hours a week do you work in the business?

2) Do you depend on income from this activity to pay your bills?

3) Do you have the knowledge needed to carry on the activity as a successful business?

4) Have you made profit in similar activities in the past?

5) Does the activity make profit in some years?

6) Do you expect the activity to make a profit in the future?

7) Are there elements of personal pleasure or recreation?

8) Has your business made a profit in 3 of the last 5 years?

According to IRC 183, “If your business activity is not carried on for profit, allowable deductions cannot exceed the gross receipts for the activity.” The result is that your business deductions will now become itemized deductions and be limited to your hobby income.

For more information and assistance in helping your company maintain their position as a legitimate business, please contact a local CPA. Each state has its own independent licensing board. If you are located in North Carolina, you can contact the NC CPA Board website and click on their “Licensee search” button to locate a CPA near you. All licensed and active CPAs in North Carolina will be found on this website.

Fax From Email and Other Ways the Internet Has Made Running a Business Cheaper

When it comes to running a business, there’s no denying that I don’t sing the praises of the Internet enough. As an avid user of fax from email services, docusign programs and virtual assistants, I often tell my colleagues that I can do practically everything online without even breaking a sweat. They often think that I’m exaggerating – but I’m really not.

Think about it this way: with the Internet at hand, you can fax by PC. You can post ads to fill positions in your company and set up interviews without ever having to pick up the phone. You can outsource projects to subcontractors and consultants without ever meeting them face to face. You can even gain a large number of your clientele base purely through advertisements and marketing campaigns online.

In short, thanks to the Internet, businesses can be more profitable than ever before.

Want further proof of what I’m talking about? Grab a cup of coffee, sit back and relax – because I’m about to illustrate precisely why the Internet has made running a business much cheaper than just a decade or two ago:

Email Fax Services: If you’ve never heard of a fax from email service, listen up: this is just one example of how the Internet has completely revolutionized the way the world gets in touch with one another. For decades, offices everywhere have relied on clunky and oversized fax machines to deliver important documents to locations around the world. Even with the advent of the Internet, the need for fax machines still existed – after all, how else where clients and employees supposed to send important documentation and signatures?

But as every office worker knows, the fax machine is somewhat of an archaic animal. It takes multiple minutes to confirm a fax number, never mind send the paperwork itself. Add to the fact that you have to repeat the whole time-consuming process over again in the event of an error, and it’s easy to see why many business experts peg the fax machine as one of the biggest productivity wasters in the office.

That’s where email fax services come into play. You see, a fax by PC system works by sending the same documentation over an email rather than fax; however, the other party still receives a fax. Likewise, someone can send you a fax, and you can receive it by email. A fax from windows system is just another example of how the Internet has made it cheaper – and more efficient – to run a business.

Docusign Programs: With regards to email fax services, one of the most important reasons offices still use faxes is due to the need to send documents which require signatures. However, a recent online invention has rendered even this small task obsolete, as people no longer have to send documents back and forth just to collect signatures.

Docusign programs work because both parties agree to the legality of an electronic signature. For example, let’s say that a client sends you a contract that needs to be signed. Instead of emailing or mailing it back and forth, the client can upload it to a docusign system, insert their electronic signature and invite you to do the same. You can use a special electronic signature to sign the document, or you can upload your own signature to the contract. Either way, it’s a sure-fire example of how the Internet has made it possible to sign off on contracts and other important paperwork in the space of a heartbeat.

Virtual Assistants: If you’ve never used a virtual assistant before, then it’s time to discover one of the best-kept online business secrets around. Virtual assistants are essentially online contractors who agree to do your paperwork, write emails, compile documents and tend to other important errands – except the relationship exists entirely in the online world. In exchange for an hourly wage, your virtual assistant will take care of all of your online needs, draw up paperwork and conduct other tasks that help your business – and you! – to operate more smoothly.

If you’re interested in hiring a virtual assistant, I recommend heading to Elance.com, Guru.com or Craigslist and placing an ad for a virtual assistant. Be sure to specify your hourly wages and project needs, as this will help you vet out virtual assistants who just aren’t the right fit for you and your business needs.

When it comes to running a successful business with less expense, there’s no denying that the Internet has helped the world to do so by leaps and bounds. How else would you be able to hire an assistant, send a fax from email and sign a contract – all without having to leave the comfort of your own office desk?
