Increase Your Freestyle Rap Vocabulary

Part of the job of a freestyler is to raise your vocabulary up a notch. In order to do this, you need to read the rhyming dictionary. This will also increase your freestyle skills. Now what are some of the ways that your can elevate your vocabulary.

You can buy a physical rhyming dictionary at your local bookstore. There are also several rhyming dictionaries. A great website is that I can recommend is rhymer.com. At this website, you can type in a word and find many rhyming words. With this resource, you can look for any words that rhyme with something that you are freestyling about.

Let me give you three other fun ways to raise your vocabulary up a notch. This is a fun and easy way to take your freestyling to the next level. The first method is to start playing scrabble. Now if you have a partner that you can partner with, then enlist their help. Sometimes it is hard to find a player. Well, thanks to the Internet, you can get online and play scrabble.

The next method that I would suggest is to go to the store and buy some crossword puzzle books. You can get them at all levels. You want to remember that you don’t have to buy the hardest crossword puzzle books that are on the market. The idea is to have fun and at the same time, raise your vocabulary. Work on at least one crossword puzzle every day. Spend some time playing scrabble every day.

The last method that I would suggest takes you back to the store. See what you can find in the way of wordsearch or cryptogram books. Let’s start with the wordsearch books. Now with these I would not suggest making them too easy, but at the same time, you don’t want to select a book that is so hard that it takes the fun out of what you are trying to accomplish. You can purchase a newspaper everyday and work the cryptogram in the paper. All of these are ways that you can daily increase your vocabulary.

A final way that I would suggest that you can increase your vocabulary is to believe it or not, start reading the dictionary. This is a little bit of a tougher job, but even if you learn one word a day, you will raise your vocabulary on a daily basis.

As a rhymer it is important to have your toolbox full of words. What better way to increase your vocabulary than to use some of these suggestions.

Did Eminem Ever Freestyle Battle Eyedea?

One of the most popular subcultures of the genre of a hip hop is the art of freestyle battle rapping. Over the years, many of the most famous rappers and this art form have went on to form very successful careers in the music recording industry. Without battling being the catalyst for their fame and fan base, it is highly unlikely that they would have otherwise received this amount of success. Many fans of these rappers, and other famous rappers alike, are incredibly interested in hearing the details of alleged freestyle battles that have gone down between them and others in the past. Some of these alleged clashes of lyrical wits have gone on to become part of rap legend, with very few people knowing the exact details of what went on, other than the two rappers involved personally.

Although many of these alleged rap battles have become very famous over the years, none of them are quite as talked about as the alleged match between hip hop icon Eminem and underground freestyle battle rapping legend Eyedea. Fans in rap circles all around the world have constantly been chattering about this alleged battle for years on end, but have never come to a definitive conclusion or answer.

General consensus states that this match has never happened and it would have been impossible for these two to meet under any circumstances whatsoever. This is supported by the geographical locations of each wrapper being so far away from one another. It is noted that while both of these emcees used to be frequent regulars on the battle circuit, they never went up in the same event as each other officially or unofficially, making it extremely unlikely that they had a private battle one on one.

Another reason pointing to the unlikelihood of this match occurring, is the fact that no witnesses have ever stepped forward to testify to the match ever going down. Furthermore, neither Eminem nor Eyedea have ever stated that this match happened, making the possibility of its occurrence extremely unlikely.

But on the contrary to the aforementioned points, which are fairly valid, there is one person who claims to have the footage on film. Phillip Drummond, one of the pioneers in freestyle battle footage, has seen thousands of classic battles appear live, in front of him. Responsible for throwing the incredibly successful Mind Games 2 battle, he is one of the most legendary persons involved in rap battling today. And he himself claims that he is the sole person who has this footage. Unfortunately when asked by many fans to view it, he turns them down immediately, sometimes in violent fashion, leaving battle fans shocked and in the dark as to whether or not the battle actually took place.

So in conclusion, at this point in time there is no specific evidence which links these 2 lyrical warriors together officially. But until Phillip Drummond is proven a liar about his footage, the mystery will certainly live on to fight another day.

What Is Fusion Music?

What is fusion music? Well, you don’t have to be an atomic scientist to understand fusion music. Let’s look at a basic definition of fusion; ‘the union of different things by or as if by melting; blending; coalition.’ This definition is from the New World Dictionary of the American Language, Second College Edition. So, in music, different musical elements, often from different musical genres are put together. Here are some examples of fusion music;

  • Reggae Rock
  • Rap Rock
  • Jazz Fusion
  • Gypsy Punk
  • Gypsie Jazz
  • Folktronica
  • Folk Metal
  • Folk Punk
  • Celtic Punk
  • Country Rap

From most of these titles, you can see what genre has been mixed with what other genre; ‘Country Rap’ is obviously Country Music mixed with Rap Music and ‘Folk Punk’ is Folk Music mixed with Punk Music. This is only a partial list, of course, since the combinations are pretty much unlimited. Being of Germanic heritage, I have attended a number of Oktoberfests and heard ‘Umpah Bands’ playing rock songs. One of the more successful types of fusion music is Country Rock.

Another term applied to fusion music is ‘cross-over.’ You have probably heard the term ‘Cross-Over Hit,’ referring to a song that captured the attention of listeners in different genres of music. Fusion music often originates from the desire of a band to reach a broader audience but it can also come from the effort to establish a unique or new sound.

Most musical artists who have stood out have had a unique sound of their own and this is actually the end product of this fusion process we are talking about. Whereas some fusion efforts are very obvious, that is to say they have combined a very identifiable musical element with another very identifiable musical element, some fusion processes are much more subtle and involve a larger number of musical elements.

To illustrate this point, I will share a short story of when I heard a lecture by the late, great author Ray Bradbury. He knew that he was addressing an audience of young writers and he said, quite simply, if you want to be a writer, you just read and read and read and it starts coming back out. Somehow, I understood just what he was saying which was that, in being a writer, you don’t shut yourself off in an ivory tower but you get as much exposure as possible to the writings of other authors and then this starts to come across in a mix that reflects your own personality.

You can take just about any great musical artist and trace his personal favorite musical artists in his music. In Beethoven, for example, we can find Mozart, Haydn, Handle and Bach, not ripped off verbatim, but present stylistically in the mix that is uniquely Beethoven. When we really look, we see that no musical genre has popped out of the blue but is a product what is fusion music.

Starting a Hip Hop Blog – 5 Easy Steps to Rap Profits

Are you a hip-hop artist, producer, entrepreneur or fan who wants to make money in the rap industry? Have you ever thought about starting a hip-hop blog? Believe it or not, hip-hop blogs are becoming more and more popular, and there are plenty of opportunities for hip-hop bloggers to make money online. If the idea of getting paid to share your thoughts and opinions about rap is music to your ears, here’s how to get started.

Step 1 – Choose a Domain Name and Web Host

A domain name is the website address that people will use to visit your blog. In general, you will want to choose a domain name that is easy to remember and gives people an idea of what type of content they will find on your site. Examples of things you may want to use as a domain name are:

  • Your stage name (if you are an artist)
  • Your company name (if you have an entertainment company or independent record label)
  • Your blog name
  • Catch phrases or descriptive names

Chances are, your first option for a domain name will already be taken, so be prepared with alternates.

Once you find an available domain you like, you will need to register it quickly to prevent someone else from using it. There is a small domain registration fee, but many web hosting services will waive the domain registration fee when you sign up for hosting.

Step 2 – Install WordPress

WordPress is blogging software that has been used to power over 200 million websites. There are a number of reasons WordPress is so popular:

  • Affordability – WordPress is 100% free
  • Ease of Use – It does not require any computer or programming skills to install or use
  • Highly Customizable – There are thousands of free themes and plug-ins available for download
  • Supported – WordPress has one of the largest development communities of any open source software, so it’s easy to find free technical support online

WordPress can usually be installed in less than five minutes through your web hosting control panel. Once installed, you can customize your blog by downloading the hip-hop theme of your choice and installing whichever plug-ins you want to use through your blog’s dashboard.

Step 3 – Start Publishing Hip-Hop Related Content

Once you set up your blog, you will be ready to start publishing content. In general, you will want to publish content of interest to hip-hop fans. This could include:

  • Hip-hop related news
  • Music, videos and images featuring rappers
  • Reviews of new rap music
  • Information about upcoming hip-hop events
  • Links to other hip-hop blogs

If you are a rapper or producer, you should have no problem creating content based on your own music. Similarly, if you are starting your own entertainment company or independent hip-hop record label, you can blog about the artists you’re working with. If you are not in the music business at all, you can spend a couple of hours each day reading other hip-hop blogs and write a post each day about the hottest hip-hop topics. The key is to create as many good hip-hop related posts as you can each week.

The posts you publish on your blog will eventually be “crawled” and “indexed” by the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.). Once indexed, your blog will start showing up in search results for hip-hop related content. The more posts you publish and the better the quality of those posts, the better chance you have of people discovering your blog through search engines.

Step 4 – Monetize Your Blog

There are lots of ways to make money as a hip-hop blogger. Here are some of the easiest ways:

  • Join an advertising network and earn money each time someone clicks on an advertisement on your site
  • Join an affiliate program and earn commissions by recommending products and services you use to your readers
  • Install a free e-commerce plug-in and sell your own CDs, digital downloads and hip-hop related merchandise
  • Sell ad space directly to artists and labels who want to promote their music through your site
  • Turn your blog into a membership site and charge people a fee for access to exclusive content
  • Charge a small fee for each CD you review on your blog
  • Charge people to post their rap videos on your blog

These are just some of the easy ways to make money as a hip-hop blogger. Experiment with each of these methods and see which methods earn you the most cash. Or, be creative and come up with something entirely new. As long as you keep coming up with content and getting traffic, the money will come.

Step 5 – Promote Your Blog

Now that you have got your hip-hop blog up and running, you need to start promoting it. The more targeted web traffic you get, the more money you are likely to make. Therefore, it is important that your blog gets seen by as many hip-hop fans as possible. Here are some free ways to promote your hip-hop blog:

  • Add your website to as many hip-hop friendly website directories as you can
  • Become an active participant in hip-hop forums and conversations on other hip-hop blogs (be sure to include a link to your blog in your “signature”)
  • Set up pages on social media sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, and link them to your blog
  • Talk to other bloggers about reviewing your site, swapping links and possibly writing guest posts
  • Write hip-hop related articles and submit them to article directories (like this one)

By following these quick, easy steps, you can start your own hip-hop blog and be on the road to rap profits in a matter of hours.

How to Make Rap Beats Without a Computer

5 Unique Points of Interest To Make Music With An Online Beat Maker

Making music the traditional way is difficult, and any major musician will tell you about that. The long drawn out hours that it takes to master a single or multiple instruments is difficult. You can’t simply learn everything and make a musical symphony out of your options, which is why it’s more important than ever to look into digital options. Digital audio workshops are the latest and greatest options for up and coming producers, and one of the best options to trust is with an online beat maker. This great piece of software can make all types of music, and there are 5 unique points that need exploration to understand why it can be the best decision for a wanna be mc, hip hop production artist, or even dj to utilize.

· 16 Track Sequencer – The 16 track sequencer that is located in this software is easy to use, comes fully enhanced for creative music types and can be hard to compare with other options. You’ll have full drag and drop options, browse through sound libraries, get a full audio mixer, and get export options that are upwards of 44.1-16BIT-ST which is industry standard for hip hop and urban sounds. Mixing is a breeze, and manipulating sounds has never been easier, even if you’re not an expert.

· Drum Machine – Most options come standard with a drum machine, but this software offers a 10 pad machine that allows you to tap in the beat, create all new kits, and make drum sounds like a real drummer. Face it, having a drum kit in your home connected to the computer is going to be difficult to manage. However, if you use the software you’ll be able to master the percussion sound.

· Keyboards – Once again, there’s no need to have a musical instrument in your home, because you can make sure that you get that full piano and keyboard sound with 4 octaves. While this doesn’t replace a grand piano of sorts, it will be enough octaves to go through and create just about any elaborate loop or sound that you would enjoy greatly.

· Additional Kits – You’ll receive 4 premium kits and get 1,0000 samples with a library of fades, reverbs and so many tracks that you won’t know what to do with them all. One thing’s for sure, you won’t run out of ideas easily.

· Bonus – You’ll get full bonus options that have premium sounds, loops, and full tracks that are royalty free and ready to be manipulated. You will enjoy the greatness of the sound that comes through your speakers, and you’ll be flabbergasted by the pre-loads and amazing options found with this software.

Online beat maker program is an amazing piece of software. It’s easy to install, implement, and utilize for professional results. Within a few minutes you’ll feel comfortable with the controls, and be setting up monster beats for your friends, family, or artists in your repertoire. You can’t go wrong with this option, and you’ll be hard pressed to find another one that has the amount of features.

The New Face of Rap – MIA, Princess Superstar and Lady Sovereign

I’m formally confessing my musical guilty pleasure. If you were a regular reader you’d know that every night I listen to Jason Bentley on KCRW in LA online. Where I get my dose of electronica in it’s many variations. Sometimes I listen to Northwestern University’s Streatbeat on WNUR here in Chicago for similar offerings. But some of the music almost defies genre. Which brings us to 3 young ladies who’ve made quite a big splash in the last couple of years. Their names might not be familiar to you; but I can almost guarantee you’ve heard their music. M.I.A., Princess Superstar, and Lady Sovereign.

Probably the most popular right now is M.I.A. When I first saw her it was clear she was Indian, and when I heard her speak it was clear she was from the UK. Basically a British Indian or a “Brindian” as I’m prone to say.

(By the way, now that I’ve got a public forum I’d like to officially declare myself the inventor of contracting regular words aka portmanteau. I lived for over 20 years in NY and LA, both major media outlets, from the late 80’s through the mid 2000’s. And during that time I talked to a lot of people who went into many media fields-and my cool contribution to the English language has never been acknowledged. I know it’s hard to prove, and therefore hard for you to believe. But I know what I did. And I invented that!)

But back to M.I.A., she was actually born in Sri Lanka and if you read her life story at Wiki, it’s kinda crazy. Her new album Kala is all over the place because of the song and video for Boyz. And if you watch Heroes, they did a double dutch scene a few weeks ago to this song. She’s got another tune called Paper Plans, where she liberally samples from the Clash. She also performed it on Letterman, and had a Milli Vanilla moment, but the clip is just music set to pix.

Her music is fun. It’s fun to listen to because of the beat. She clearly is a person fascinated with the Roland MC-505. And when I first heard her music I had a quick Adam Ant flashback. Most of his music uses the Burundi beat. Then I had a feeling her sound was reminiscent of the Kecak rhythm of Bali. That Kecak ceremony was filmed in the movie Baraka (and the Wild Boys featuring Steve-O also filmed it). If you decide to watch a YouTube Kecak clip, let me just say it might be a little disturbing. That might not be the right word, but it’s unusual, so just prepare yourself.

(Did that tangent into culture surprise you? I think it’s because of my degree from Columbia University’s Anthropology department? And yes, I have a 10 foot travel whip. But I assure you I’m the only person who carries one! But my feeling is; one chase through a South American jungle was enough for me to not go empty handed anymore).

But is it still rap music if done by cute young women from England, NY’s Jewish community and Sri Lanka? Princess Superstar is from New York, and she’s Jewish, but after 10 years who could question her credentials? Certainly not me. She calls her more “flip flop,” because like M.I.A. she pulls her influences from various sources, including electronica these days. She’s also taken to DJing and has recently done a VERY popular collaboration with Mason.

Next up is Lady Sovereign. She’s from England and very young. But trust me, you know her tune Love Me Or Hate Me. It ended up in a phone commercial I think. Again, very catchy, and I enjoy it.

I also want to throw something else at you; Justice. They shouldn’t really be in a piece about women rappers. As an electonica duo they’re far more comparable to Daft Punk, Air, the Chemical Brothers, the Crystal Method and Basement Jaxx. But they’ve got a couple popular songs out right now and there’s a very good chance you’ve heard this one, and it features a female vocalist so it fits with this topic.

So there they are; putting a new face on rap. It’s reminiscent of when Punk rock split into about half a dozen strands in the late 90’s, I think rap is about to enter a more diverse stage.

Rap Beat Maker – The Software Vs Hardware Battle (and Conclusion)

When it comes to making beats, many new and seasoned producers are starting to make the shift towards software. Why would they do that? Simple – software brings more to the table, both in terms of flexibility and workflow.

Many new producers looking to jump into the game often have a tough time decided what is better – a rap beat maker program or hardware workstation. While they each have their different pros and cons, it really boils down to what makes you feel the most comfortable (and ultimately the most productive).

Software vs. Hardware

In this piece, I wanted to break down the major differences of software and hardware, as well as highlight the pros and cons of each. If you’re at a crossroads in determining what type of rap beat maker you need, this should help settle the score and move you in the right direction.

So, without wasting more time, let’s get on with the show!

Hardware – The Good and the Bad

When it comes to making beats, some people have the urge to be more “hands on”. They need to feel the music they make, and pounding away at keys and slamming drum pads gives them the ability to become a part of that music by playing it out naturally.

In hip-hop, hardware runs deep. The first line of MPC’s (such as the MPC60), as well as keyboards like the infamous ASR-10 set the pace and changed the hip-hop beat game completely (other popular hardware workstations include the Roland Phantom, Korg Triton and Yamaha Motif as well). Anyone familiar with either beat maker knows the power that each of them hold.

With that said, check out the small list below outlining the different pros and cons of using hardware as your primary rap beat maker:

Pros

– Vintage sounds that you can’t find anywhere else (or are tough to recreate).

– The feel that you get (hands on music production).

– Solid timing

Cons

– Low memory that limits sampling capabilities.

– Limited amount of on-board sounds. Purchasing more expansion boards is your only option to expand your sound range, which means you have to lay down more cash.

– Poor or limited sequencing and arrangement features.

– Typically expensive. The more you need, the more you will spend (we’re talking spending thousands, not hundreds).

Software – Good vs. Bad

Software has grown popular over the years and has changed the way many people produce and create music today. In fact, using software as a rap beat maker has become more of the norm. New producers on a limited budget are finding it easier to start making beats and producing music with nothing more than their computer, beat making software and a creative mind!

There are a number of different software programs available for music production. You might be familiar with popular programs like FL Studio and Reason (which are great, but can still be pricey for some), as well as other similar programs like DubTurbo.

With all of that said, let me quickly break down the benefits (as well as the downsides) of using software:

Pros

– Since software uses the hard drive on your computer for memory, your memory power is limited only to the size of your hard drive(s). This means room for as many sounds and effects as you want!

– Unlimited amount of options for plug-ins and expansion.

– All in one solution (sequencing, mixing, programming).

– Costs much less than most hardware, yet can achieve similar results (or better).

– Easy to update and maintain.

– Doesn’t require any external pieces for operation – just your computer (however, you can use midi controllers to play keys and drums to get that “feel”).

Cons

– Not as mobile as hardware (unless you want to lug your PC around).

– Quality poses a minor issue and may not be as good as some hardware workstations

– Higher-end software performance can be poor if not using a high-end PC.

The Conclusion

As you can see, using either hardware or software has its benefits and downsides. The truth is, you can achieve a great sound by going either route, so it is ultimate up to you to decide. Now that you are aware of some of the differences and similarities, you should be capable of deciding what is best for you.

Simple Trick – How To Freestyle Rap Well Enough To Impress Your Friends

In this article I am going to  teach you how you can learn how to freestyle rap well enough to impress your friends. If you are reading this article that probably means that you are ready to develop some skill when it comes to the art of freestyle rapping. You should be aware that learning how to do this can be done but does take some work and dedication.

I am going to show you something that you can start doing right away to improve your off the top of the rhyming skills. Some people take freestyle rapping very serious and even compete in national competitions where money and a respected reputation can be won.

Other people do not take this as serious but still like to do it around their friends and family for fun. There’s been tons of times when I Have been hanging out with my friends and one of us puts on a crazy beat and we just start flowing. When this happens there is always at least one of my boys who has no idea what he is doing, but I always give them an “A” for effort.

Are you that one in the group that is the odd ball? The one that is seemingly always messing up the rotation and looking like the lame of the group. I am going to share with you a little trick that will help you next time you and friends decide to start a rap cipher.

The simple little trick that I am talking about that will help you is having pre writes. These are nothing more then prewritten raps that you store in your head for times like the one above. You are probably thinking to yourself that you are supposed to be freestyling off the top off the head, I can’t use prewritten raps.

Here is how to use them properly:

You will want to right some raps that  are geared around places that you normally what freestyle rap at with your friends. For example, if most of the time your ciphers take place in the basement you will want to  make  your raps about things that  deal with the basement. If sometimes your ciphers take place in the car you will want to write your raps about being in a car.

Now when it is your turned to rap you will start off saying one of you many prewritten flows. While you are spitting you should be mentally making notes of things that are around you at that moment so when you are done with your pre write you will seamlessly be able to go into off the top of the head mode.

This is a great technique for getting you going in your freestyle rapping. Now you know how to freestyle rap well enough to impress your friends or anybody for that matter.

How to Write Rap Song Lyrics in 5 Steps

With the strong emergence of hip-hop in today’s music scene, a lot of people are interested in learning to rap and want to know how to write rap song lyrics. While there is no “exact” way, these 5 quick tips will definitely help you to write a better rap song.

1. Find a Beat to Inspire You. Ever wonder how the pros beginning writing a rap song? 9 times out of 10 they begin by looking for beats to inspire them. They are looking for something that touches them in way that inspires and motivates them to write lyrics to. Everyone has a different taste in music, so find a beat that YOU like and can write naturally to. Find something that instantly grabs you and relates to you. You can find beats easily on the internet. Just search Google and Soundclick and you will be sure to find a beat to write rap song lyrics to.

2. Choose a Main Topic. Once you find a beat that you want to use, begin thinking of a topic that goes nicely with the beat you chose. Remember to choose a topic that relates with both YOU and the beat. If you chose a sad, emotional-sounding beat, then pick a topic that is sad and emotional and that you relate with. If you pick a club style beat then choose a topic that is relevant to the club scene. Listen to your beat, ask yourself what kind of impact you would like your rap song lyrics to have on people, and decide on your main topic. Remember that how you write rap song lyrics will greatly depend on your topic.

3. Write Your Hook. A lot of rappers and producers alike find it best practice to begin a rap song by first writing the hook. Now that you have your beat and main topic selected, you have a great foundation to begin writing your hook lyrics to.

To explain how to write rap hooks, I’ve broken hook-writing down into a few steps that I have found to be very effective.

a.) Consider these things: Do you want the hook to be catchy? Do you want it to be deep and emotional? Do you want to sing it or rap it out?

b.) Listen to the hook part of your beat. Vibe with the beat and start freestyling some ideas. Even if your words aren’t making sense, freestyle to the beat to establish some different flows. Experiment and figure out what you like.

c.) Now that you have some ideas flowing, begin writing lyrics down. Make a list of words that you might want to incorporate into the hook.

d.) Look at your word list as you listen to the beat and begin freestyling some new ideas with these words.

e.) Once you come up with some strong ideas, it may be a good idea to quickly record them to see which one sounds the best. Once you’ve decided, we can move on with the verses!

4. Begin Writing the Verses. Now that the hook is finished, you have everything laid out for the verses. So how do you write rap song verses?

a.) Start each verse off strong in order to develop a connection with the listener right away. A good way to do this is to begin with a controversial, funny, bold, or catchy opening line.

b.) Now that you’ve got the listeners attention, finish out your verses with content that is relevant to your topic. Rhyme more than just the last word in each sentence when you can. Try to use different flow structures throughout instead of just sticking to one the whole time.

c.) If you are having trouble or writer’s block, write out a list of rhyming words that relate to your topic (use a dictionary and thesaurus if necessary) and refer to this list to spark ideas.

d.) Just as you started off strong, end the verse lyrics strong too! Make sure you transition into the hook smoothly and finish with a bang!

5. Practice! Perhaps the most underrated part of rapping…practice! It’s one thing to know how to write rap song lyrics, but putting it into action is something else. Once you have your song written, practice it over and over until you know it by heart and can recite it perfectly with no flaws. Trust me this is important!

I hope you now know how to write rap song lyrics more efficiently and effectively. Apply what you’ve learned to your next rap song and I am sure you will notice a difference!

Rap Beats – How To Find Your Style With The Right Rap Instrumentals

One of the reasons that new and experienced rappers have trouble finding the right rap beats is because they really don’t know their style of rapping. A lot of rappers think that they know, but they really don’t. This is because they spend so much time listening to their favorite rap artists, and as a result they can get wrapped up in that artist’s style, which may or may not be comfortable.

If you want to stand out as a unique rap artist, then you must have your own unique style. The way to find and develop your style is to take a break from listening to other rappers, and flow. Record yourself, and listen to only yourself for a period of time that allows you to really zero in and notice the unique styles and projections of your voice.

Once you start to get an idea and a comfort level with your flow, then you can begin listening to rap beats and rap instrumentals that match what your hear yourself recording. This may sound like a funny or weird task, but the results will surprise you. You will now be able to pick beats that will not only fit your style, but they will make you sound even better than ever, and the right rap beats will give you that ‘platinum’ sound, almost overnight!

Once you pick a few rap instrumentals that you think will fit your style, record over them, and spend some time listening to the recordings over and over again. You will hear things that you didn’t hear before, and with this you will be able to develop and perfect your style even more. You may find that some of the beats that you though fit your style don’t, so you can change them.

For this reason, it is probably better that you start off leasing non-exclusive beats, this way, you can work on your style with the beats without spending a lot of money. So if you find that a beat doesn’t fit your style, then it’s no big deal because you didn’t have to spend thousands of dollars on it.

There are many sites popping up all over the internet that will allow you to lease non-exclusive or exclusive rap beats and rap instrumentals, so check around until you find the beats that you believe fit you, after doing the exercise that i talked about earlier.

This is a very simple technique for improvement, but if you try it out, I would bet that the results you will see will be much worth it. Try It!
