Office Cleaning Services With a Purpose

Office cleaning services are required in a lot of regions. Both residential and commercial places get dirty and the owners are willing to pay cleaners to carry out the cleaning services. This is because many are engrossed with work and do not have the time to handle the cleaning needs required. The good news is that there are plenty of companies offering cleaners that one can choose from. Selecting a company that is geared at a mission to please its clients is a good decision since such companies offer quality services.

Domestic cleaners

These are sorely responsible in providing cleaning services in residential areas. It mainly involves residential maid service along with other cleaning services that are needed for the home. These maids can be dispatched to the clients location depending on the contract agreed upon. It could be for daily or weekly cleaning of the home. The type of cleaning offered is also specified by the clients. It could be general domestic cleaning or specialized cleaning which includes certain type of cleaning like carpet cleaning and laundry services.

Commercial cleaners

The commercial cleaning arena is quite different from domestic cleaning. Commercial cleaners mainly focus on janitorial services as the dominant cleaning mode needed. Janitorial cleaning usually encompasses more activities than those included in the maid services. Janitorial cleaning is normally offered on a day to day basis but in circumstances where clients need a different plan, cleaning companies are flexible to offer that. Commercial cleaners are usually skilled in handling cleaning needs in the business environment since this is a sensitive place of work.

What it takes

When you select cleaners to cater to your cleaning needs, you need to know that you are taking up services from an established organization that has been able to map up its activities and prepared for the challenging situations ahead. Those who take up the cleaning business have a drive to make an impact in the cleanliness of the neighboring surrounding. This entails employing cleaners who share the same vision. Having an adequately qualified team leads to the generation of good income that can help the business to grow.

Numerous established and reputable cleaning companies started from a smaller scale company and grew over the years while providing cleaning services. Using quality service delivery as a stepping tool helps bring up a profitable cleaning company with a huge client base. Having business skills also helps in making the company grow. Good business skills require you to have knowledge in the administrative requirements of the company. This along with time efficiency and good relations with the staff pushes a company forth.

Choosing to capitalize on the most sought after cleaning services helps a company to grow. This includes selecting a team that is qualified in the delivery of the commonly sought services and to ensure that they are effective in executing the cleaning service. With the cleaning company, the owner can choose either to go independent or franchise. While a franchise may help one establish the business and turn it profitable very fast, when it is firmly established and profitable, this option sheds its disadvantages on the owner. Independent operations on the other hand may prove tedious to get up and running. It may also seem to grow slowly. However, once it is profitable, the owner enjoys all the advantages it brings.

Office Remodeling: When Is It Time to Give Your Business a New Look?

It’s important, no matter what industry you’re in, to have an office environment that is clean and laid out well. The look of a business can greatly impact its ability to generate revenue. No matter the industry, it’s important to have an office environment that is clean, laid out well for working staff and pleasing to customers. This office look needs to last for years to come, so instead of catering only to modern design trends, your business’s appearance should almost be classic, something that looks great well into the future.

As times, trends and needs change, so too must the look of an office. To determine when this is necessary there are several key indicators that helps business owners decide, “It’s time for a new look.” What are some of these indicators?

Increase in sales/business

Most business owners want to see their business increase by some amount. And an important way of showing growth is by providing a new look or space for your operations. Have you outgrown your space and need to add some room? Or are you moving into a bigger workspace, but need to give the new area a facelift? These are times when a remodel most often happens, whether the growth is in business, staff or both.

Increased energy costs

Have you been watching your energy costs increase dramatically over a certain period? If so, you may want to think about having your office remodeled in order to make the space more energy efficient. How? Energy efficient windows, insulation, heating and cooling, lighting and much more “green remodeling” can be done to a work area so you can save the money, or invest these funds into increasing your operation.

Outdated look

What worked 10 or 20 years ago might not look good now. If you think the look of your business, outside or inside, is outdated and desperately needs a new look, trust your gut instinct. Contact a company that specializes in commercial remodeling services, ask their professional opinion and review their recommendations to improve the look of your business.

The best sign your workplace could use a remodel? What kind of opinions or thoughts are you getting about the look of your facility? Are you hearing negative comments about the look of your workspace? If so, strongly consider remodeling your office an updated appearance. It may be one of the best business decisions you make.

5 Major Risks in Office 365 Implementation

Migrating to Office 365 is becoming increasingly popular among businesses, both large and small. Though Microsoft offers some more beneficial features like security and reliability, enterprises are still doubtful on migration due to implementation challenges. Office 365 deployment can appear very simple, but there is a wide diversity of considerations that hinge on an organization’s unique business demands. Below listed are the top 5 major risks enterprises face while implementing Microsoft Office 365.

1. Access Issues

2. Mitigating risk

3. Messaging security

4. Corrupt Data

5. Migration Challenges

Access Issues: Approach to a business’ core infrastructure and domain is a decisive success component. Domain access (domain verification with clouds) is vital to begin the Exchange Online deployment. Those companies with no access to their domains will be at risk and face deployment delays.

Mitigating Risk: In Office 365, there are several possibilities for a failure either in email, online protection or even authentication can be a reason for a complete failure – thus if you recognize the possibility of Office 365 being down, you’ll need a plan on how your users will access and use electronic mail during that downtime. Need to obtain an alternative solution to maintain your services working even if Office 365 is offline. Third party policies and solutions are there for efficiently handling situations like this.

Messaging Security: Spam filtering is one of the greatest challenges during the Office 365 implementation. With on-premises Exchange, there are many choices of vendors to provide layers of security and hygiene for your messaging – some based at the gateway and some on the client. But when moving to Office 365, the options diminish significantly. Though Office 365 utilize Exchange Online Protection, it fails to address the more advanced attack that are realized at the connection level as well as the email content level.

Data Loss: Data loss is often a major concern for Office 365 customers, because Microsoft’s backup policies cannot guarantee a complete and speedy restore of lost data. Even when data is retrievable, the process is long and complicated, and retention policies vary for each application included in the cloud platform. A new data retention policy introduced in Outlook can be a relief to office customers to some extent. But the retention policies can simply protect you from data loss in a limited way and are not thought to be a perfect backup solution.

Migration Challenges: Office 365 migration can be either one of the easiest things or one of the most challenging. It primarily depends on the size and complexity of the environment you are running on. If you sustain an on premise Active Directory environment and you want to perform a migration, it won’t be an easy procedure. For a successful migration, identify the pieces that are missing in your current environment.

Once you have identified the challenges, seek the help of some efficient third party providers/solutions that can probably make your migration and running on Office 365 a far smoother process.

5 Tips to Choose Office Furniture

When your business is growing, you need a good office as well. And this is not the only thing that should be considered. You also need to opt for the best furniture for your office, especially office tables. Given below are 5 tips to help you choose the best office furniture. Read on.

1. Layout vs. size

The office desk you choose should fit well, look great and should have enough room for drawers and cabinets. Your employees should be able to walk around your room comfortably. So, make sure you consider these things when buying office furniture.

2. Practicality vs aesthetic

While aesthetics are important, you may want to give more importance to practicality of the furniture. So, you may want to discuss the practicality first and then think about the beauty of the furniture. As a matter of fact, functional furniture stands the test of time.

So, make sure the desk has enough room for your files, legs and other stuff. Moreover, the furniture should be able to accommodate several functionalities. You may want to put money in a standing or regular desk based on your needs.

3. Value for money

It’s easy to go for the most inexpensive furniture, but you should not go this route. What you need to do is do your research and consider the quality as well as the finishing of the furniture. In other words, you may want to go for durable and affordable furniture only. Make sure you get value for your money, which is possible only if you prefer quality.

4. Focus on ergonomics

The furniture you choose may look great but may not have good ergonomics. For instance, some desks may be too low or too high. In the same way, some chairs may give you a backache. Often, back pain is a result of wrong sitting posture and sometimes, it’s because of the poor ergonomics chair.

5. Choose comfort

Your workspace or office should be comfortable. Not focusing on comfort is a big mistake. You may not want to forget that you are going to sit in the chair for hours on a daily basis. Therefore, we suggest that you go for a chair that is comfortable enough.

We don’t say that you should not consider the look of the chair. Of course, the looks also matter, but what matters the most is the comfort of the chair.

Takeaway

It’s not as easy to buy office furniture as you may think. If you make the wrong decision, you will end up spending your budget on the furniture that is not needed in your office. So, we suggest that you take your time prior to making this decision. As an alternative, we suggest that you hire the services of a good furniture consultant. You can also consult a good interior designer as well.

What you need to do is focus on the budget. After all, you don’t want to get fired for spending too much on the furniture alone.

Ways To Solve Office Workflow Issues Part I

Many workflow problems begin with too few staff members, possibly the wrong person for a specific responsibility, or even a wrong mix of staff. Some other issues may be that physicians and staff are feeling overwhelmed, patient complaints, looking for missing charts and hunting for charts. Many physicians are all too familiar with these issues.

Several things may contribute to the office having these various issues. Sometimes it’s due to the lack of proper training. Physicians should always make it an environment where the staff feels comfortable coming to them with problems or issues that are happening in the office. Having periodic meetings with staff where you walk around the physical office and point out issues such as office layout or waiting room set-up is the copy machine too far from the desk etc. You could also consider hiring a practice-management consultant to evaluate your practices and office policies and design a plan for a better workflow.

Sometimes things can get messy when there are too many people doing one job or task. Analyze how many hands or procedures a task must go through to be completed. Also track the time it took the task to be completed from start to finish. Physicians may need to allow certain staff to make decisions instead of it sitting on the Physicians desk waiting for an answer which holds up the whole process.

Make sure to include the staff in any changes within the office and always ask for their suggestions and feedback.

When an office changes their software to a new system this also can create a bottleneck and slow things down in the office. Usually with a new software system, the company will hold training sessions with all staff members. Even with the training, it takes time for the office to adapt to the new system. Usually on average most people retain 25% of what you tell them on the first time because so much information is being given.

It is vital that the office gets adequate training and time is allowed for the staff members to retain the information. Training is good when it is in stages. Possibly start with an easier task on the software and allow the office to use the information for a couple of days and then add another feature of the software. Check with the staff and find out if they understand it and if not, what area needs to be focused on to achieve a level of understanding.

Physicians need to be attentive and interested in every step, and keeping the office workflow efficient is not something you do just once. It takes time and constant attention to achieve the results you want.

Business Office Insurance Cost: Evaluating the Factors Affecting Rates for Your Business Needs

Don’t think that just because you run your business primarily online from an office environment that you won’t need business insurance. You never know what kinds of potential financial risk you could be facing. Anybody can try to sue you for some ridiculous reason or another, whether it’s in relation to copyright infringement or problems associated with inappropriate or misinterpreted market research. The pressing question, of course, is “how much does business office insurance cost?”

The answer to this question, unfortunately, not easy to answer. Just as with any other type of insurance, there are numerous variables that must be factored in, and each individual business has its own unique circumstances.

Business Office Insurance Cost and Its Coverage

Clutter and Hoarding – A Simple Way to Declutter Your Home Office

Does your home office look like a tornado has come through it? Many times we don’t take the time that our home office needs to be maintained. We have so many other things that scream for our attention and the clutter builds quickly. I am going to offer you a simple way to declutter your home office. This simple yet seemingly effective technique is ‘daily diligence’.

The use of this technique of daily diligence has helped several of my clients in many areas of their cluttered lives. This technique has been utilized by several clients to successfully declutter and maintain their home office.

Taking just a few minutes a day to put everything in its proper place will drastically simplify maintaining your decluttered home office. Not to mention when you first begin you don’t have to take the whole office and get it in complete order. For most that would be too overwhelming and that is why it would more than like stay cluttered and probably get worse.

Just set aside a few minutes, 5-10 maybe, everyday and make sure that time is spent utilizing organizational techniques that you have found work for you. If you are feeling like most of my clients and wondering where to begin, I have suggested that they start with removing the garbage first. That seems to have helped in many cases.

Several clients found that just by taking a few moments everyday, daily diligence, they were able to effectively remove the garbage, reduce the clutter, and then maintain their home office.

One of my clients mentioned that she had been able to completely declutter her once overwhelming home office, and that through utilizing daily diligence she is now able to quickly maintain and better utilize her home office. She said that she gave herself 5 minutes everyday. She took my advice and began with removing the trash first. She then began to organize the rest of her office right down to her filing cabinet.

Another client said that she began by setting a timer, giving herself 2 minutes everyday. She said that she felt that 2 minutes was something she would be able to stick to and not feel it was too overwhelming or taking too much of her time from other household things that needed to be taken care of. She admitted that it was definitely slow going in the beginning but she did begin to notice a difference and that helped keep her motivated to keep coming back everyday. She said she now is able to maintain her office in less than the 2 minutes she originally started with and she has used this technique successfully throughout many of the other cluttered spaces in her life.

Data Center Relocation Tips for Your Office Move

A regular office move is tedious enough, but when you add relocating an entire data center the process becomes an even bigger challenge. There are several steps you need to take to ensure a data center relocation goes smoothly. The first thing you will want to do is find a reputable office mover with expertise moving data centers and IT departments. The experience and skills of the office moving company is very important, especially when you consider the proper care of your most expensive and sensitive equipment. Even with the assistance of a professional office mover there are a few things you need to do in-house to make sure you’re ready for the move.

Check Insurance

Make sure the office moving company has adequate insurance. This insurance will cover any damage or losses that might occur during the move of your computers and other valuable equipment. Even the most skilled data center relocation service can encounter issues beyond its control, so it’s critical that you insure your investment.

If you have specialized equipment–such as a large office copier–that is leased or maintained by other companies, you will want to check with them to see if you are contractually obligated to allow them to move it. This will protect you from liability for any damage to the equipment during the move.

Remove Obsolete Technology

There is no point in hassling with or paying to move obsolete IT equipment. Go through your printers, computers, copiers, old phones, and other devices to see what you need and what you can discard. Some professional office movers can also handle the secure disposal of these items for you.

Backup

Long before you move you should backup data physically or to a cloud network. If your office has an IT department, it should be in charge of backing up each computer and data system in the building. This can be a very time consuming process if you have a large operation, so you will want to give your IT department plenty of time to prepare.

Hire the Right Office Mover

The best office mover will have employees with the expertise to support your IT department before, during, and after your data center relocation. It will provide white glove handling of all electronics, including computers and network mainframes. Make sure you work with an office moving company that employs a team of specialists who understand the logistics of a large IT move. A professional and experienced office mover will ensure your relocation goes as quickly and smoothly as possible so you can get back to business with very little downtime.

Look for a professional office mover with IT and data center relocation expertise that includes:

• Attending move meetings and helping to plan the relocation

• Careful handling of sensitive electronic equipment on a specific delivery schedule

• Expert support to get your network up and running

• Managed moves for all PCs, workstations, peripherals, phones, and printers, including disconnection and reconnection services

• Specialized crates and pallets to securely move servers, racks, mainframes, and other equipment

A reputable office mover will use office moving best practices that adhere to privacy regulations so you can eliminate the possibility of a data breach. The company will also clean your equipment during the move to remove the dirt and grime that can reduce its life and performance.

If your business is in the planning phase of an office move, you only want to put your equipment in the hands of a professional with data center relocation experience. Admiral Movers’ office moving services can help you move with as little interruption as possible. The company uses innovative moving practices and the most advanced technology to relocate your data center, computer room, and IT equipment efficiently and without damage.

How to Benefit While Waiting in Line At The Post Office

Earlier this summer, I wanted to send my Dad the new Anthony Bourdain book.

He loves food and travel, so it seemed like the perfect gift for Father’s Day.

So, I went with my wife to the post office. Much to our chagrin, there was a line. Not a long line, mind you. But enough that we had to wait.

The problem was… it was taking SUPER long (to the point where the peeps running the show at the post office had to ask us and thank us for our patience several times before we were helped).

When you find yourself in situations like this one… waiting in a long line for longer than you care for, it can be INCREDIBLY easy to get frustrated.

To get angry or even furious about how slow the people in line are being

To start vortexing and lashing out about how much time you’re wasting in line…

And about all the things you still have left to do…

Time waiting in line is often what some call “DEAD Time.”

Time that you don’t get much, if anything, out of.

Time that, ultimately, you think is wasted.

All too often, our days are peppered with dead time. Especially when we have to run errands.

BUT

I got awesome news for you.

You see, waiting in line doesn’t HAVE to be dead time.

We can RECLAIM IT!

We can REVIVE IT!

We can TRANSFORM it into ALIVE Time!

Time that is well-spent.

Time that you use to grow.

Time that, ultimately, you feel you made the best of.

This is exactly what I did when I was waiting in line at the post office.

I did so by using a simple but powerful technique I like to call “value-shielding.”

This technique essentially layers a beneficial activity on an otherwise unpleasant or boring experience.

By doing this, you shield yourself from the boredom and the badness of the experience by enjoying the benefits of the activity.

So, when I was waiting in line at the post office, I turned this dead time into alive time.

I value-shielded by giving my lovely wife a shoulder massage while we waited.

By focusing on massaging her shoulders in a way that soothed my wife’s pain (she tends to get a knot in her right shoulder in particular), I was able to spend time in line while focusing on doing something pretty awesome, something nice for someone I love (while also getting some massage-giving practice).

By value-shielding in this way, my wife and I were able to turn the dead time of numbly waiting in line into the alive time of giving/getting a massage.

This is just one example of how to value-shield.

There are plenty of other ways you can do so.

You can listen to music you love and that inspires you.

You can listen to an audiobook that entertains you.

You can even take the time to low-key meditate in line by focusing on your breath.

All these are powerful examples of how to value-shield while waiting in long lines. Whether it be at the post office, in the grocery store, or even at the airport.

My clients and I regularly engage in value-shielding, and let me tell you, waiting in line has never been this fun.

If you learn to harness the power of this technique, you’ll be able to transform some of the worst and most infuriating parts of your life into some of the best and most inspiring ones.

Hope you have fun value-shielding!

Checklist for Office Furniture Installations

A checklist is necessary when office furniture installations are taking place. It can be a daunting job to make sure that everything is organized properly. Besides the furnishings, there are also files to worry about, and the normal operations of the workplace to get back to as soon as possible. Assistants or whoever is given the responsibility of setting up the office should always have a checklist to work from. The checklist must document every pertinent piece of furniture. The individual who is assigned this job must know how to accurately use, as well as test, each item to ensure that it has been put together in the appropriate manner.

For your office furniture installations, you first must identify that the correct pieces have arrived at your place of business. Go through everything one by one and piece by piece as you do not want to miss a thing. If you have moved from one location to another, then an accurate checklist from the old place should be written up so it can be referred to. Check off each item on your list to make sure that it has arrived by either a delivery or courier company, or on the moving truck.

Every item that is being moved from one property to another should be labelled by either yourself or the moving personnel so that it can be cross-checked on the list that you have in your possession. If you are ordering new furniture, write up a separate list. Having two lists may slow you down but it will make things easier when the office furniture installations stage is reached. You need to stay on the right track in knowing what pieces have shown up and which ones are still to come.

Furniture placement in your new location is something that you need to be clear about before the relocation people show up. Some of your furniture may not need to be built within a particular room or area. For these elements, the movers can place them in the appropriate spot. For the office furniture installations that must be done in a certain way, do the work before moving the items into the appropriate rooms, such as the manager’s office, the conference room or the reception area. Start with the largest pieces. Put them together or take them apart and transport them before the small or medium sized furniture is dealt with.

You need to ensure that there is enough space to assemble tables, chairs, desks and cabinets. You also need to preside over the area where the jobs are being done as you want to see for yourself that the equipment and other pieces have been put together correctly. You do not want to have to move the items a second time. This would be needles work for yourself and the people you have hired.
