Cheap Logging and Quality Services Only at Ever Lodge in Baguio City in the Philippines

If you want to spend your vacation in the Philippines’ Summer Capital but afraid of the expenses, there are actually a lot of cheaper alternatives available, and one of them is Ever Lodge Baguio.

Rooms and Rates

This place can be put under the category of a two star or budget hotel, although the term motel has also been used. The charge for the rooms here range from Php 320 to Php 650. That is probably as cheap as it can get in the city; if you are only going to stay for a few hours in the night, the rate is only Php 65. Even then, the place comes with cable TV, a telephone you can use, as well as a bathroom with shower (hot and cold options available).

Amenities and Accommodations

The Ever Lodge Baguio does not have a lot of services or facilities to speak of (understandably so given the price) but this is made up for the fact that it is not that far from the city. For example, Jade Restaurant is very close to it, so you can have something to eat without traveling too far from the lodge. Also, if you traverse the Marcos Highway, you will eventually reach the Baguio General Hospital, and from there you only need to make a left turn before you get to Session Road and all the stores, malls and commercial establishments.

Another great thing about the place: from it you can view the Summer Capital of the Philippines in all its natural glory; there are few buildings and homes here, so you can see the mountains and skies clearly, the way they have been for millennia.

Location and Contact Information

The Ever Lodge Baguio is right along the long stretch of Marcos Highway. It is actually quite near to the Goldrich Construction and Trading Compound and when you see the aforementioned landmark the inn will be close by. If you are going to take a jeepney, you need to have about Php 12 in hand. Those that travel along Magsaysay Avenue can take you to the lodge. A taxi ride will probably cost about Php 50. All in all, it is less than half an hour from the city itself. Their phone number is 4465361.

Granted, the Ever Lodge Baguio is no luxury hotel, but if you are just in need of a cheap place to stay that will allow you to sleep comfortably, relax and enjoy the view, there are few places that can give it to you for such a low price in the City of Pines.

69 Places For Passion – Lusty Locations to Make Love

When looking to spice up your love life, many couples look for adventurous or novel places to make love. There are certain locations that enable sensual love making while others demand quicker acts of passion. A bedroom is a comfortable place to make love but there are so many exciting and lusty locations to have passionate sex. Whether spontaneous and urgent or planned for fun, sex in new locations can be extremely thrilling.

Creative lovers are always on the look out for opportunities to get wild and frisky. With the right inspiration, every day sex can be transformed into an unforgettable experience. You may have seen other lovemaking location lists but let’s push the envelope and go for at least 69 — always a good number for sex ideas. Remember that for some locations, there are pleasurable sex activities other than intercourse. Oral and manual stimulation can be just as satisfying and more practical in some situations.

  1. Fooling around as passengers in a moving car (back seat while a friend drives, discreetly in a taxi, in a limousine with a privacy screen).
  2. In a parked car during a romantic or exciting event (watching fireworks, admiring a sunrise/sunset, sheltering from a thunderous rain storm).
  3. In a honeymoon suite but not during your Honeymoon. Elegant and fancy or themed for fun, recreate your honeymoon or practice what it would be like.
  4. In a seedy motel. Arrive separately and roleplay an office coworker affair or a prostitute fantasy.
  5. In a high class hotel suite with a panoramic window view — keep the curtains open if you dare.
  6. In a room with at least one hundred candles casting a soft glowing light over your naked bodies while you enjoy sensual pleasuring.
  7. Frosty fornication in a snow fort or igloo you made together is great fun. You can even fashion a special mound to mount on.
  8. On a boat in the open air (not below deck). Consider a canoe, row boat or rubber raft if you don’t have access to a yacht, sail or speed boat with a large deck.
  9. Slick with massage oil wresting on a plastic sheet or in a blowup pool.
  10. In the shower enjoying the sensual, slippery suds and a hand held water massager. Intimate bathing and bonding or hot steamy sex — what ever suits your mood.
  11. In an English garden surrounded by fragrant blossoms. Make it more fun by dressing elegantly and indulge in a sense of aristocratic debauchery.
  12. In a gazebo under the stars, moonlight or noon day sun. Semi outdoor sex as secluded as you dare.
  13. On a king size water bed fitted with satin sheets and lots of fluffy pillows.
  14. In a cool, fast moving stream or small creek. A swirling pool under a water fall is an amazing location if you can find one.
  15. On a swing strong enough for two. Actually swinging together with penetration is tricky, however there are many other fun activities you can do involving a swing.
  16. In a hammock between two palm trees on a secluded ocean front beach.
  17. In a lookout tower or observatory. Finding one that provides a scenic view and opportune privacy will be its own adventure.
  18. Rear entry on a bridge while overlooking the depth below. Even more intense on a swaying rope bridge for added adrenaline rush.
  19. In the stairwell of an apartment or office building — better exercise than taking the elevator. (or on the stairs in you own house)
  20. On the top of a large hill or small mountain under the stars or full moon. Take in the view with a bottle of wine then enjoy each other.
  21. On a train. Either in a rare, vacant car or a private cabin, “playing on the tracks” is a temptation to be tried.
  22. In a van, the back of a pickup truck or on the hood of a sports car.
  23. While skinny dipping at night in a pool, river, lake or ocean. Note that cool water tends to make some bits firmer while others shrink.
  24. In a bath, hot tub or spa. Soak, soothe and sensually stroking each other or stimulate wet and wild sex with invigorating water jets.
  25. On a roof. Outside on the flat top of tall building or (carefully) on a low, slightly sloped roof can be thrilling.
  26. In a field of tall grass or flowers. A secluded, lush green meadow next to a small stream is ideal.
  27. Under a cherry, apple or other fruit tree in full bloom. Enjoy the sensual sights, sounds and smells of Spring whenever you can.
  28. On a pile of pillows. An assortment of shapes, sizes, colors and textures all piled for pleasure. Have a playful pillow fight. Try new positions.
  29. In a barn. A horse stable may bring out the animal in you. The hayloft (on soft straw) can be extremely fun. Roleplay cowboy, stable hand or farmer’s daughter.
  30. Deep in a forest up against a large tree. Agile couples can even try various positions in the tree if the branches are just right.
  31. Outside in the refreshing, cool rain during a hot day or night. Thunder and lightning add to the thrill.
  32. Safely under a sheet metal roof during a hail storm or torrential down pour.
  33. Anywhere under the hot sun with an ice dildo. Make one by freezing a plastic water/pop bottle filled with water and cutting the plastic off.
  34. In a sleeping bag in the open air under a clear sky bright with stars. Go as far away from city lights as possible. Aurora lights will make it even more special.
  35. On a tiny island. Revel in quiet seclusion or spice it up with roleplay. Pretend to be castaways or, for a historic setting, a scout meeting a native first time.
  36. On a beach on the hot, dry sand or right on the shore with the waves lapping up around you. Anywhere you can see and hear huge crashing waves.
  37. In the middle of a sports field or stadium (golf course, soccer, football, rugby, race track, etc.). Most likely best during off season or at night.
  38. In a cave, tunnel or under a bridge. The echoes of your ecstasy or the sounds of traffic overhead can be exciting.
  39. On a trampoline or blowup bouncer. Standing intercourse while jumping may be tricky. An exercise ball will give a similar bouncy feeling for other positions.
  40. In a small clothes or coat closet with the doors closed so it is completely dark. Will someone open it and catch you in the act? Fun at parties.
  41. On a billiard table as a forfeit for losing a few games of Dirty Pool or Six Nine Ball.
  42. On a fur rug/coat in front of a warm, glowing fireplace at night.
  43. In every room of your home and your lover’s home if you live separately.
  44. Creatively on or using stable pieces of furniture. On the kitchen counter, dining table, sofa, foot stool, etc. On the floor and up against the wall too.
  45. In front of a mirror or beneath one attached to the ceiling. Get a revealing new perspective of your love making from new angles.
  46. In front of a tripod mounted video camera or webcam. Record for later, view live or stream to an internet audience if you are an exhibitionist.
  47. In a small log cabin, thatch hut, mud hut or teepee. Include the possibility when planning vacations.
  48. In a garage, boat house or storage shed. Surreptitiously meet while others are outside unaware of your naughty behavior.
  49. In a tree house or fort (either a chance discovery, your own or a neighbors). Pretend you are teenagers fooling around for the first time.
  50. Next to an open fire while camping. A roaring fire stimulates passion while softly glowing embers at night instill romance and intimacy.
  51. On or against a clothes washing machine especially during the spin cycle.
  52. At a sex club or fetish party in a private cubicle or on display for others to see.
  53. On exercise equipment at a private gym. You will definitely enjoy your workout.
  54. In a dark corner of a dance club with a pulsing, pounding beat to grind to. A skirt and no panties/underwear makes this a much easier to perform.
  55. In a parking lot between parked cars/vans. Try underground and above ground parking lots but take care for security systems and surveillance cameras.
  56. Snuggling together in a sleeping bag in a small tent. Weather conditions, wilderness sounds or scary stories can set the mood.
  57. On a designated border line between two countries, states or provinces — one person in each territory engaging in diplomatic relations.
  58. In or near a cemetery at midnight during a full moon if you dare. Standing sex will have both your legs shaking with the thrill.
  59. In a public restroom, change room or even a friends bathroom. Novelty and the risk of getting caught coming out together make this exciting.
  60. On a plush lawn at night or early morning while it is still wet with dew.
  61. In a theatre during an arousing show or to make it more interesting. Remember to bring some wet wipes to clean your fingers.
  62. In a pile of fallen leaves or freshly cut grass.
  63. In a bed covered with rose petals or lots of money.
  64. On a private patio, porch or deck (poolside even better). A sturdy lawn chair or table, air mattress or a few seat cushions may come in handy.
  65. In an elevator (late at night on a weekday might be a good time and dress for a quickie).
  66. At a costume party. Dress the part for a sexy roleplaying scenario. Flirt and play act until you can secretly meet to fulfill your fantasy.
  67. Out on a high rise apartment balcony or next to a large window near the top floor. Try standing rear entry while looking down below.
  68. In a private adult playroom stocked with a wide variety of pleasuring implements. Bondage devices, costumes, toys and other playthings will whet your desire.
  69. Inside a walk in vault (it has happened but tends to require an employee or owner to facilitate). A walk in fridge or supply room is a quick alternative.

Some lovemaking locations may actually be a little tricky, costly, too exotic or even slightly dangerous depending upon your circumstances. However, if an idea intrigues you, you can always setup a scenario and roleplay a situation in a pretend location. With a little imagination and a few props, you can create a fantasy setting to fulfill your desires. You can even recreate historical, fanciful or alien space settings.

Haridwar – The Holy Place For The Hindu

The city of Haridwar situated in Uttarkhand is a frequent destination for the Hindu community. It is located on the banks of the river Ganges. From the ancient scriptures of the religious books the location is mentioned quite a number of times. The writings from the texts refer to Haridwar as the place where nectar fell from the bird also referred to as Garuda. The particular spot is referred to as Brahma Kund.

One of the most revered places in the city is Har ki pauri where people take a dip in the waters to rid themselves of any sins to attain salvation. In the evenings one can catch a glimpse of diyas floating in the Ganges where people pray for their near and dear ones who have passed on.

The climatic condition in Haridwar is pretty pleasant throughout the year. In fact because of this and the need to catch up on spiritual discourse many tourists and pilgrims throng the arena.

There are many hotels in Haridwar which have different tariff. Restaurants in the area as well as hotels do not encourage the sale of meat. Cuisines are predominately vegetarian and meat eaters will certainly have to travel elsewhere to get their fill! A couple of the eateries to visit are Mohan’s Fast Food, Chotiwala Restaurant, Aahar, Sindh Durg Bandar, Motel Rahi’s Restaurant, Brij Matural Walla, to name a few. There is nothing sweeter than having a pure vegetarian meal sans the use of animal products.

New 2016 California Mold Law

The 2016 California mold law, SB 655 applies to hotels, motels, apartment houses & dwellings (including houses and homes) regardless of date of construction. Non-dwellings are excluded from SB 655.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) had determined that the presence of water dampness, visible mold, or mold odor in schools, workplaces, residences, & other environments is unhealthy. It recommends addressing water damage, dampness, visible mold, and mold odor by (a) identifying and correcting the source of water that may allow microbial growth or contribute to other problems, (b) the rapid drying or removal of damp materials, and (c) the cleaning or removal of mold and moldy materials as rapidly and safely as possible. These guidelines are similar to to EPA and CDC guidelines regarding mold conditions and corrections. Using bleach to clean up mold or simply painting over the problem are not solutions to visible mold conditions in an indoor environment.

SB 655 provides guidance to local code enforcement and other public health officers that mold growth is a health and safety concern when it endangers the life, limb, health, property, safety, or welfare of the public or the building’s occupants. A Health officer or code enforcement officer must make this determination. Such ‘qualified’ mold is unlawful under State Housing Law. Local agencies are mandated to enforce State Housing Law and have authority to issue notices to property owners to abate qualified mold growth as routine housing code enforcement.

The presence of mold that is minor and found on surfaces that can accumulate moisture as part of their properly functioning and intended use is exempt from enforcement under SB 655. Such mold is a ‘housekeeping’ task that is the occupant’s responsibility.

Landlords are required to keep their units safe and habitable, and free from violations of State Housing Law. This obligation may not be waived or bypassed any agreement to the contrary. SB 655 amends landlord-tenant law so that landlords are not required to remediate mold unless they have notice of the mold or if the tenant is in violation of specific affirmative obligations.

Regardless of this Civil Code provision, under SB 655 substandard buildings remain subject to code enforcement by local agencies under State Housing Law, which requires enforcement agencies to give notice to owners. Dwellings with unlawful mold may be deemed uninhabitable and may be required to be vacated and/or subject to other remedies including fines and penalties.

How to Follow Your Dreams

Do you know what you want to be? To truly live is to follow your heart, to realize that you can achieve your dream and be who you were meant to be. Whether you are just starting this journey of life as a youth fresh out of grade school, or a middle age person, it is time to live your life.

During your life you have made a mistake or two, and you have to live with them. However you can overcome your past and create your dream future. To do that you need to know what your dream is. Did you truly want to grow up to be the night clerk at the motel, or the weekend cashier at the convenience store? If so congratulations, you do not need to read this article. If not, then you need to remember what it was that you wanted to be. Write it down and realize that it is not too late to start.

You have your dream, and you want to live it. Well, to get there you need to take a few steps along the way. Nobody ever (and I do mean nobody) accomplishes their dream life by wishing. You have to work at it a little bit at a time. You have to make progress a step at a time. You simply cannot wish to be able to be the next Mister or Miss Universe and expect them to mail you your prize from the comfort of your couch; you have to get off your gluteus maximus and go work out.

So you know your dream, but how do you get there? First you must resolve a path. Then decide what steps to take to get there. To determine what those steps are you have to set goals. Sometimes you even have to put deadlines on those goals. Goals are simply stepping-stones. You set a goal to achieve something then set tasks to achieve that goal.

Whenever you are setting a goal or two, you sometime find that your path has been blocked. Always research several alternative ways to reach your goal. You should do this just in case the most obvious path comes out short of the end. Let us say that the university you wanted to attend won’t accept you so you are crushed and your dream of becoming a nuclear scientist begins to fade. So who says you had to go there? Maybe you can go to an alternate university, and the end will be the same. When you are a nuclear scientist, do they quote you and say you’re a Harvard nuclear scientist or a University of Florida nuclear scientist? No-they simply say you are a nuclear scientist.

Be prepared to change and adapt. Have a few plans ready to go. Even a loose idea of a plan is better than nothing. If plan “A” does not work have a plan “B” ready to take its place. This avoids that trapped feeling you get when you realize that the goal that you were after has been taken out of your reach. This is similar to the way people plan a road trip. You look at the map and see the different possibilities to get from point A to point B. Say there is a blizzard or construction, or it is simply blocked; you merely back track a bit and resume your journey from another direction. Sometimes plan B is more enjoyable and more appropriate for the journey than your first choice.

Systematically re-check and as needed redefine your goals. It’s not worth the wasted time to struggle to meet a goal that no longer fits with your life. During obvious stopping spots along the way, take a day to sit back check yourself about how you are reacting to reaching this milestone. Are you happy, or relieved? Are you excited, and want more? Conversely are you scared, with slight overtones of dread or entrapment?

As you grow into your new self some nervousness is to be expected. As you reach out in a totally new direction in your life, it is only fair to expect that not all feelings you have will be super positive. There is some mourning to go through for the loss of your old life, and growing pains in your new life. Take time to

just have fun, to balance your priorities. To love, laugh, cry, and otherwise allow yourself to be a normal person. However, take an occasional planned time out to make sure that you aren’t ignoring obvious Warnings.

If your subconscious is screaming, “Run away! Run away!” then pay attention. These warnings usually happen for good reasons. For example, wedding jitters are perfectly normal. While ignoring abusive behavior, which doesn’t seem to be declining (despite promises to the contrary), is not normal. If there are warnings take heed, and go to plan B, or if need be, change your goal. Make sure that the goal is your goal, and not what someone else says is your goal.

As you accomplish a goal and see yourself a little bit closer to your dream, re-asses. Is the next step logical or was it made without enough information. Do you really need to accomplish that next goal or is there a different goal to set and achieve? Change as needed. Do you really need to take underwater basket weaving 101 to become a nuclear scientist? Do you really need to watch TV for four hours every night? Look at yourself and see what you are doing. Can you do better?

Every time you set a goal write it down. Keep it in a journal, or a notebook. Review your writing daily to keep your mind fresh. In addition, it is very effective to write a start date when you set a goal, and a completion date when you accomplish the goal. It is a very satisfying feeling to look through your notebook and see that you are indeed completing goals, and moving towards your dream. So let us quickly move through the process so you can see how the process works. Let us say your dream is to be the president’s limousine driver. You must now work from there backwards to where you are now.

To drive the president you must be trained to drive the executive limousine, an excellent driver, and a member of the secret service. To be in the secret service requires an impeccable reputation and a willingness to serve. There are three major goals in the dream. The first is to be an excellent driver. The second is to be a member of the secret service, and the third is to be trained to drive the executive limousine. (You know that tank that looks like a car)

So let us start with the first major goal. Become an excellent driver. We will have to break it down into a couple of regular goals. To be an excellent driver you must first be a licensed driver. To become a licensed driver now becomes a regular goal. The steps from there to here are: to become a licensed driver you must pass a drivers test. To be able to take the drivers test you must pass a written test; to pass the written test you must study; to study you must first have a book; to get the book you must know where to get it.

The next step is we now write down the tasks to accomplish the goal. Write them down in the reverse order you thought of them, and add a start date.

· June 1st

· Find out where the drivers books are

· Get a copy of the book

· Study the book

· Go to Department of Motor Vehicles and take written test

· Pass written test

· Take practical driving test

· Pass test, get drivers license

Each task is a miniature goal in itself. Once you have completed a task move on to the next. If you find out there is another step, you must take add it in to the list. For example, we found out after taking the written test that you have to have a bit of experience to pass the practical test, so you add the task “Practice driving.”

As each step is taken you write down the completion date. As you review your journal you see that you are making progress towards your first goal. When you have accomplished your first goal (to become a licensed driver), you re-asses and make sure you are on the right path. Then, set your next goal, keeping it in line with your dream.

There you go, you now have an idea of what to do. I cannot make you do it; you have to do it yourself. Do you want a good life where people will respect you, or is the couch just too comfortable? It’s your life-go and live it.

Be Blessed.

Tips For Keeping Cool in an Uninsulated House During the Summer

A few years ago, my husband and I, along with our two young daughters spent some time living in Africa and Latin America. Both countries were hot, hot, hot in the summer time. Not only was it hot, but it was humid as well.

I remember one night in Africa we were sleeping (or should I say, trying to sleep) in an upstairs motel room. There was no cross ventilation, and I dare say the temperature was close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It was humid as well. By some miracle, the girls went to sleep fine. My husband and I on the other hand were desperately tossing and turning in sheer sweaty exhaustion. We couldn’t sleep for anything, we were so freaking hot!

Finally, our desperation bred a plan. We got a pair of socks and soaked them dripping wet in the sink. We then proceeded to put those sopping wet socks on our feet. Amazingly, our bodies cooled down considerably and we were able to sleep for a couple hours–until the socks were dry. We got up, wet them again, and repeated the process the rest of the night. Our desperation had certainly turned into a mother of invention.

We now live back in the good ole’ US of A. However, we don’t have one of those nice comfortable new air-conditioned houses. Ours is an old farmhouse with just enough insulation to keep the mice happy in the walls. So how do we keep cool here? Let me share some of our tips. Maybe it’ll save you some horrible hot sleepless nights.

1. We have trees shading our house. Now I know that’s kind-of a long-term solution, but planting a tree is a whole lot cheaper than tearing out walls and re-insulating.

2. We open the windows AFTER dark and put box fans in them blowing the cool air into the house all night long. In the morning, right when we get up, we remove the fans and close the windows up tight to keep the hot air out.

3. We keep the windows covered. It’s amazing how much heat a window can let in. We keep dark curtains pulled over the windows that let in most of the sun–even during the day.

4. We put window air conditioner units in the bedrooms. It’s too expensive for us to air condition the entire house, but we do find running a couple units at night is affordable and makes sleep much more comfortable.

5. We move most of our activities during the day to the coolest part of the house. Our master bedroom happens to be on the east side and is therefore not heated up by the hot afternoon sun as much. We moved the TV and even my office into the master bedroom and find ourselves spending a lot of time in there. If it gets too hot, we shut the bedroom door and turn on the window A/C unit for a little while to cool it down.

While we’d love to have a nicely air conditioned and insulated house, it just isn’t feasible at this time. However, using these little tips has really made a difference in being able to enjoy the summer, sleep well, and be comfortable.

What a Tsunami Risk Has in Common With a Nuclear War Threat

Insights from the Flood Insurance Specialists

There’s a war of words between the US president and the dictator of North Korea and it does not seem to bode well for America. As the evil ‘rocket man’ threatens to use nuclear force against the United States, the associated island located closest to the source is getting nervous.

The jittery feeling appears to be underscored by the government big wigs. “Get prepared,” they tell residents on the Pacific shoreline.

How exactly does one prepare oneself for an epic attack promised by someone who is intent on destruction? Officials cite a tsunami as the example.

The Pacific coast is no stranger to the fear of a tsunami. In the year 1957, in fact, what is referred as a ‘distant-source’ tsunami was generated in the region by an earthquake that occurred 2,100 miles away!

Insurance suppliers say the devastating results were five million dollars of property, auto and home damages.

In hindsight to that terrible event, emergency responders have devised a plan to minimize risks. The same plan officials now say residents should use if, Heaven Forbid, residents face a standoff with nuclear arsenal.

Here are the important steps to take if a tsunami or a nuclear threat looms.

• Learn about the risk at hand. Reach out to emergency groups for any information they can provide. Find out how much higher your street is to sea level and learn how far away your street is to the coastline and any other high-risk spots.

• Tourists should speak to hotel or motel personnel about risks and evacuation travel routes.

• Devise your own evacuation strategy by planning an escape route that takes you at least one hundred feet away from your residence – or in an upward direction that is two miles inland from the coast – or as further away as you can make it. Your plan should include escaping by foot within fifteen minutes from start time of evacuation. Follow any evacuation routes that have been officially posted along the way to safe shelters.

• Perform evacuation drills with your family during key times: day, night and during inclement weather.

• Confer with an experienced independent insurance agency in regard to flood coverage because your standard homeowner’s policy does not carry it.

• Keep posted about warnings and watching via the radio and social media.

• Sit your family down to discuss what to expect and make a plan in the event family members become separated.

• Fill your emergency kit with essentials such as an adequate supply of bottled water, non-perishable food items, medicine, flashlight, radio and other necessary things. Place your kit by the door so you can grab it quickly in the event of an emergency.

"Knock on Wood" – Its Intro Is What Song Played Backwards?

By 1966, Eddie Floyd had been a staff writer and producer for a year at Stax Records, the legendary Memphis pop, soul and R&B label of Otis Redding, Sam and Dave and Booker T. & the M.G.s. Working with Stax guitarist Steve Cropper, Floyd had already written two hits for Wilson Pickett: “634-5789 (Soulsville, U.S.A.)” and “Ninety-Nine and A Half (Won’t Do).” Cropper had also co-written with Pickett the singer’s “In the Midnight Hour.”

One night in 1966, he and Cropper set out to write a song about luck and superstition at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. Floyd worked with the superstition that if you touch wood after stating a hope or wish (“I hope I win the lottery, knock on wood”), it will come true.

The belief goes back to early cultures who believed that living things like trees held mystical powers; when cut, the wood lost its magical qualities. Knocking on, say, a wooden table is supposed to drive away any evil spirits inhabiting the wood.

A loud crack of thunder and the ensuing lightning gave Floyd the line “Like thunder, lightning, the way I love you is frightening.” The addition of the line helped change the tune’s focus from luck to love.

The song the pair wrote was “Knock on Wood.” To Floyd’s lyrics, Cropper contributed the song’s signature intro. Cropper’s inspiration was his own “In The Midnight Hour.” For “Knock on Wood,” Cropper played the “Midnight Hour” intro backwards!

Believing they’d written a hit for Otis Redding, Floyd and Cropper went into the studio the next day to record a demo of “Knock on Wood.” Issac Hayes contributed the horn arrangement and Al Jackson came up with the distinctive four “knocks” on the drum that follows Floyd’s “You gotta knock…”

But Stax founder Jim Stewart believed the song was imitative of “In The Midnight Hour” and refused to let Redding record it. The demo remained in the can untouched for months until Stewart could be convinced to release the record as an Eddie Floyd song.

The demo of “Knock on Wood” would become the final version everyone knows today; it was never re-cut for release as a single.

“Knock on Wood” would become the biggest hit of Floyd’s career and has been covered by more than 100 artists, including Eric Clapton and Seal; Amii Stewart’s disco version topped the pop charts in 1979.

And despite Jim Stewart’s initial opinion of the song, Otis Redding would record “Knock on Wood” in 1967 in a duet with Carla Thomas.

The Madness Chronicles – Episode 11

In this, our 11th episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll take a look at the madness of illegal immigration the Democrats so love. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, especially severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a state of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at a maddening trail of destruction.

In the news from Norristown, Pennsylvania, one Nemias Perez Severiano, 31, driving drunk with no license struck 69-year old pedestrian Samuel W. Jackson, dragging him more than 50 feet, and killing him. Did I mention he was here illegally from Mexico? Moving west to Salt Lake City, Utah, a 31 year old Nigerian by the name of Ayoola Ajayi, kidnapped and murdered a 23-year-old University of Utah student. Once in custody, the police filed 19 more counts against the ‘new’ American for things like child porn and rape. Did I mention he was here illegally? On both counts, thank a Democrat.

In Philadelphia, Ervin Urrutia-Sagastume, a Guatemalan national with a criminal background, was arrested by the Philadelphia Police Department. That’s good. Wrong. You see, Philly is a ‘sanctuary city.’ When ICE issued a detainer on Ervin, the Police Department released him. Why did they pick him up in the first place? For committing sexual abuse against children and filming sexual acts against children. You guessed it, he was here illegally. Find another Democrat to thank.

In Spokane, Washington, once a charming community, an Iraqi immigrant by the name of Yasir Darraji, age 30, murdered his estranged wife and set her body on fire. He told police he didn’t like her Americanized behavior. Her friends believe it was an honor killing so widespread in Muslim circles. Good news in Houston when the HPD arrested Iraqi immigrant and fugitive, Abbas Abdal Kathem Abed at a homeless shelter there. He was wanted for the rape and murder of a young woman in Colorado. Seems Abed was an Uber driver and picked up the young lady, took her to a motel and took care of business. It’s so great these Iraqi refugees are so grateful for all we did for them.

If that’s not bad enough, in Washington, DC, the Military Times reports an unusual court decision. Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, district judge for the United States District Court in DC, ruled in favor of five anonymous Afghan and Iraqi nationals seeking to come to the United States. She ordered the government had to speed up their immigration. The federal government now has 30 days to submit a plan to adjudicate long-delayed visa applications that have been pending for more than nine months. That is beyond madness.

Not to be slighted, three ‘special’ refugees from Afghanistan were recently busted in California for running a massive fencing operation. Muhibullah Nuristani, Mohammad Mustafa, and Abdul Janah. Nuristani, a relative of Muhibullah. As reported by NBC in Fremont, California, the Afghani’s were welcomed to the United States by the US Army. They were interpreters and deserved a chance to better themselves officials said. In fact, they improved themselves by stealing cell phones, creating a nondescript storefront, and selling state of the art phones all over the world. The American dream.

What is there not to understand about this picture? The list of these atrocities could take up an entire book. America spent $1.8 billion last year welcoming people from the Third World to ‘come on down.’ We’re bringing people in who are from one or two or even three centuries ago and expecting them to make the leap to a free society. That in itself is madness. There is little time to see things as they really are, not the way we’d like them to be.

May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health and until next time… have fun, enjoy life, and watch out for the madness amongst us.
