What is Laser Liposuction?

A new technology in fat reduction just got recently approved by the FDA as a method for removing fat in specific areas of the body. It seems that people no longer need to stick to the option of traditional liposuction. There is however, still a lot that we need to know about laser liposuction.

What is Laser Liposuction?

It is a form of minimal invasive procedure that may result to some bruising in patients. In this procedure, a very small incision is made into which a 1mm cannula is then inserted. The laser tip of the instrument then comes into contact with the fats, heats the fats up and breaks them down. The melted fat can then be removed from the body immediately.

The fats that are not removed from the body are simply flushed out through our lymphatic system. Laser intensity is low and can be adjusted as needed. A local anesthetic is all that is needed for the procedure.

Its Use

Not everyone is built for laser liposuction, though. Although some may claim that laser liposuction can work wonders on all parts of your body, it can only really work on limited areas. Only smaller areas like the face, neck and arms can be subjected to this laser treatment.

Just like traditional liposuction, laser liposuction is also simply a body sculpting procedure. It is therefore not a solution for obesity and cannot be used for weight loss. The appropriate candidates for this new technology are people who are fairly healthy and who have only small fat deposits.

The Advantages

Because this procedure is less invasive compared to other body sculpting procedure, there is only minimal bruising, scarring, tissue damage and pain. The incision is said to be so small that a patient no longer needs to be stitched up. This means that the rate of recovery is faster. Patients can get back on their feet in a day or two.

Aside from melting fat, laser liposuction also promotes collagen production and tightens the skin. This is a great improvement compared to traditional liposuction. In traditional liposuction, some patients end up looking worse because of a lack of ideal skin elasticity. Some doctors may use laser liposuction after sessions of traditional liposuction to help tighten the skin.

Risks

Not all areas of the body can be subjected to the procedure. Traditional liposuction may still be needed for wider body areas such as the hips and thighs. It is also still a very young piece of technology. Experts agree that more studies need to be conducted to determine the possible negative side effects of this procedure.

Retaining more fat fluid is also a more serious concern that should be given more attention by those who undergo laser liposuction. Of course, the FDA would not approve something that could be potentially dangerous. It is a fact though that the full long term side effects of the procedure cannot be determined yet until it has been in use for quite some time. Be on the safe side by asking your doctor to extensively discuss the procedure with you.

The Audio-Lingual Method is a Teacher-Centric Approach

The audio-lingual method is a teacher-centric approach. The teacher controls interaction in the target language and directs classroom language learning drills and other activities. The typical instructional procedure in the audio-lingual method begins with students listening to the teacher modeling a dialogue. Students repeat each line of the dialogue after the teacher. Certain key words or phrases may be changed in the dialogue.

Key structures from the dialogue are the basis for pattern drills of different kinds that follow. Students expand on the elements in the dialogue through substitutions in the pattern drills, which are organized in a particular sequence to lead students from simple repetition to more complex manipulations of language forms and structures.

Typical drills beyond the repetition drill include backward buildup drill, chain drill, single-slot substitution drill, multipleslot substitution drill, transformation drill, question-andanswer drill, and minimal pairs. The backward buildup drill helps students learn accurate placement of sentence stress and pitch patterns by starting from the end of an utterance and gradually building up to the beginning of the utterance.

In a chain drill, the teacher asks one student a question, and after the student answers the question, he or she asks it of another student in the class. The drill continues until everyone has answered and asked the question. Single-slot substitution drills present students with a model sentence from the dialogue and cue words that students substitute into the dialogue line. Multiple-slot substitution drills supply more than one cue word to substitute in the sentence.

In a transformation drill, students transform model sentences from one form to another (for example, from affirmative to negative, from active to passive, or from statement to question). In a minimal-pairs drill, students distinguish between words that differ from each other by only one sound. By drilling the difference, it is thought that students will improve their perception of the distinction and, consequently, their pronunciation.

The Benefits of a High Speed Disperser

High speed dispersers are designed for intensive high speed, high shear mixing and dispersing of product, and are most often used in such industries as chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic/personal care. They are ideal for viscous dispersions. Dispersers are available from bench top sizes to very large industrial production sizes that have the ability to disperse thousands of gallons at a time. These mixers are used in a wide range of applications because of their ability to apply intense shear and shorten mixing cycles that require hard to mix fluids to be formulated into emulsions, or agglomerated powders to be dispersed into a liquid medium. Powder dispersers are designed to integrate and disperse large amounts of difficult to wet powders into a pipeline flow with minimal air entrainment. Today, technological innovations have resulted in dispersers that generate a strong vacuum that ensures intense powder induction and wetting while delivering high discharge capacity.

Industries will enjoy a number of benefits when using high speed dispersers. For instance, in-line concentrations of up to 40% by weight can be produced in a single pass process. There are also effective powder incorporation and batch time savings. These high speed dispersers reduce dispersion times by up to 90% with concentrated single pass powder dispersions. There is a significant improvement in the consistency of the processed product with reproducible dispersion characteristics from batch-to-batch and the impact style rotor-stator tooling eliminates screen plugging issues common to other in-line blenders

The unique design of a high speed disperser that contains the innovative high tech ‘ZC’s’ powder dispersion tooling and reactor head allows for intense shearing of powders in a single pass prior to hydration which produces uniform powder dispersions free of lumps. An almost perfect vacuum for powder dispersion is created which allows in-line concentrations up to 25% by weight to be generated in a single pass with minimal air entrainment. The product yield is maximized and wastage is reduced or eliminated because the powder is completely hydrated after passing through the disperser.

Notable key benefits of high speed dispersers include:

Dramatic Powder Incorporation and Batch Time Savings

Eliminate the common over-processing of other conventional dispersing technologies

Preserve the rheological properties of shear sensitive products, which also lead to powder ingredient savings

Powder dispersion aids such as pre-heating the aqueous phase and dispersing into semi-polar solvent are no longer necessary

To keep pace with modern-day mass production of consumer, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and industrial goods, companies need to speed up the development of technologies to meet demand. To the processing industry, the mixing process is both an art and science which requires both innovative technological solutions and experience in the “art” of mixing. High-speed dispersers are the basic tool used by all companies that disperse such products as drugs, paint, chemicals, ink, adhesive, and much more. Producing products with the appropriate fine particle size gives excellent product performance and is beneficial in terms of overall process optimization. It makes good business sense to use the latest innovations in dispersers.

MSCONFIG Parameters

Microsoft System Configuration utility or MSCONFIG has been a very handy utility in almost all of Microsoft’s operating systems. MSCONFIG parameters give you a lot of options when trying to troubleshoot your computer or detecting an error.

Its main interface contains tabs that gives the users options to selectively and non-permanently alter several startup parameters. General tab on MSCONFIG allows you to have basic options for starting your computer. Three setting are included in this type including the default which is the Normal Startup type, and the other two which are the Diagnostic Startup and the Selective Startup.

The System.ini and Win.ini were included for legacy compatibility purposes and there is a very little chance that you will be using them.

The Boot.ini allows you to choose from several options on how you want to start your computer. You may choose to boot in SafeMode, or if you need access to the network, you may choose to boot using SafeMode with Networking. It is also recommended not to try or attempt to use MSCONFIG to edit Boot.ini unless you are directed by a Microsoft support professional or a technician to do so. The most valuable functions of the Boot.ini are explained below. You can choose to use any of these functions for troubleshooting purposes:

• /SAFEBOOT – suboptions for starting your computer

• /SAFEBOOT with MINIMAL – your computer will start in SafeMode

• /SAFEBOOT with NETWORK – your computer starts in SafeMode with Networking support

It also includes other options such as the:

• /SAFEBOOT with NETWORK – loads a generic TCP/IP network configuration

• /SAFEBOOT with DSREPAIR – repair Directory Services and Domain Controllers

• /SAFEBOOT with MINIMAL (ALTERNATE SHEL) – allows you to start your computer in SafeMode with Command Prompt

• /NOGUIBOOT – this allows you to start your computer without the VGA video driver

• /BOOTLOG – helps you debug and troubleshoot startup problems on your Windows

• /BASEVIDEO – uses a standard VGA video driver when you startup your computer

• /SOS – displays the driver names when loaded.

It also has an Advanced Options screen which gives you more choices for starting your computer, including the following:

• /MAXMEM – if you think your computer has a bad memory chip, you can use this switch so that the amount of memory that Windows XP can use will be limited

• /NUMPROC – it limits the number of processors used when you are in a multiprocessor system

• /PCILOCK – allows your computer to use the BIOS configuration for assigning system resources to PCI devices.

• /DEBUG – allows you to start your computer in debugging mode.

• /DEBUG with /DEBUGPORT -specifies the communications port to be used

• /DEBUG with /BAUDRATE – species the baud rate to be used

• /DEBUG with /CHANNEL – specifies the 1394 communications channel.

The Service Tab gives you the option to disable and enable services that loads with your computer during startup. This is very useful when trying to troubleshoot service-related errors or problems.

The Start Tab on the other hand allows you to prevent items from loading when you log in to Windows. You can simply deselect these items so that they will not start together with your computer when you boot it.

Calibration Plays an Important Role in Industrial Temperature Measurement

When we mention calibrated sensors from a technical standpoint, we are usually referring to a more accurate piece of equipment or measuring device that increases temperature accuracy with minimal human interaction. In the area of industrial measurement of temperature, calibrated sensors with instrumentation are built to be able to gather and relay more accurate information to a monitoring source.

Temperature measurement technology continues to evolve. And with the incorporation of calibration, it has taken a leap forward. Temperature measuring devices can now be set up for remote reporting, diagnostics and automatic adjustments especially when

Incorporated with computer technology

Industrial Temperature Measuring

In industrial arenas such as manufacturing and chemical processing where precise measurement is critical, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermocouples and thermistors have been developed out of necessity. These are very accurate temperature measuring devices, each having advantages and disadvantages. For instance, a thermistor has more longevity than a RTD. But a thermistor isn’t able to measure the wide range of temperatures that a RTD can.

The nature of a accurate temperature measuring device differs greatly from that of everyday temperature reading instruments. This is because industrial temperature devices are built to measure and monitor temperature with so wide a range that they might not be able to report their findings accurately. This means that accurate temperatures cannot just be taken and read from a device such as a regular thermometer or a conventional temperature indicator. Accurate measurement readings can be taken and converted (digitized) into electronic information that can be transferred to remote monitoring equipment for analysis or incorporation into a program.

The Reason for “Calibration”

This is where “Calibration” comes in. With the latest microprocessor and sensor technologies working in conjunction with calibrated sensors, industrial and commercial temperature monitoring equipment can perform almost autonomously.

An example of this type of cutting-edge temperature monitoring and reporting equipment would be Instrulab’s Model 4312A Multichannel RTD Temperature Monitor. This programmable RTD unit monitors temperatures and records data from multiple sources. All readings and findings from this unit can be sent to a personal computer on demand with minimal programming required.

“Calibration” can also enhance standard industrial measuring devices. A system calibration of these devices can be performed at various temperatures used by a customer. A temperature offset correction can be used to determine the temperature reading at those points more accurately.

Looking Forward

Even in a sluggish and uncertain economy, companies are paying very close attention to ways they can increase the accuracy of their temperature requirements. Highly accurate temperature measuring equipment will play a big role within industries producing goods that depend on precise temperature readings. It’s all about efficiency and the need to optimize the manufacturing or processing environment for economic purposes.

The Economics of LPG Conversion

LPG conversion is not just some trend that groups of environmentally-minded individuals have been championing for years. This method of letting vehicles run on liquefied petroleum gas instead of petrol or diesel has proven to be a hit among other types of consumers.

In fact, various governments all over the world have offered subsidies to consumers who volunteer to have their cars converted from petrol to LPG. This comes as a small but welcome relief to a good number of vehicle owners who may find the cost of converting quite steep. Moreover, the cost of conversion should be seen as an investment, as a good number of benefits are in store for vehicle owners who do.

Obviously, the impact of using LPG is felt in the environment, as vehicles using LPG instead of petrol give very minimal exhausts and pollutants to the air. With the urgency of actions to save Mother Earth, the increasing use of LPG should signal a shift in more consumers wanting to adhere to alternative sources of fuel. More importantly, though the cost of converting a vehicle to using LPG from petrol may be high, the costs are recovered in the long run. This is because the cost of LPG per liter is noticeably more affordable compared to petrol.

The response from the public has been positive, and more and more garages have been offering to do the service at overly reduced costs. This should set an alarm for consumers who are practical and want to save on having their vehicle converted to LPG. They have to exercise caution, as overly affordable LPG conversion services may actually turn out to be scams by garage owners who want to earn easy money on a fast-rising trend.

With the actual costs of conversion set aside, the factor that attracts a lot of vehicle owners to turn to LPG is the savings in fuel costs in the long run that a good number of owners of LPG-run vehicles have attested to. Are the savings really noticeable or are they just minimal, only to be compensated by the good feeling of patronizing an environmentally-safe product?

On petrol, a typical car will average about 12 litres for every 100 kilometres. On gas, the figure will increase to close to 15 litres. But then, even though a vehicle would require more LPG to run, the costs multiplied per litre would still sum up to savings for LPG users in the long run. Moreover, the conversion would make more sense for vehicles with bigger engines, as they consumer more fuel. If a vehicle’s annual mileage is 10,000, the cost of 5.5 litres per 100 km on petrol (equal to 550 litres) would still be higher than the 700 litres of LPG consumed in a year.

CNC Machines for Stone – Eliminate Visible Lines in Granite Profiles

It is a common problem for stone kitchen and bathroom countertop fabricators that their CNC machine leaves visible lines after profiling the marble or granite edge which results in a not so shiny finish as desired.

The lines are unavoidable on profiles with a large flat section like the ‘T’ profile but also on all the other profiles more or less. How visible the lines are depends on different factors. One is the stone itself regardless if it is natural stone like Granite and Marble or manmade (engineered) stone. The CNC diamond tools are another big factor of the finishing result. With brand new diamond tooling the lines are minimal but eventually they will develop lines that are noticeable and unacceptable for most stone fabricators and their clients.

On some profiles and stones it is possible to limit the lines to a minimum by running the polishing wheels forwards and backwards 3-4 times and changing the Z value up and down by a minimal amount (0.005mm) for every run, which might not be possible to do with every profile.

Another option is to manually run a 400 grit pad after the CNC has run all the metal wheels and before the polishing wheels. That helps to keep the polishing tools in good shape but it is extra handwork which disturbs the normal workflow on the CNC machine.

Dressing the profile diamond wheels on a regular basis with the right dressing stones will help to keep the lines to a minimum.

There are also special tools called line-breaker and line-buster to name a few which may result in a better finish.

If you compare the hand polish process with the way the CNC machine works on a profile then you may recognize where this lines are coming from and why it is hard to get rid of them. On the CNC Machine the tool is spinning in the same direction as the machine movement. There is no cross movement of the tools and the CNC machine movement.

Just see what happens when you hand polish, the tool spins across the movement you do by hand. That movement is what gets rid of the lines and that is not possible with a CNC machine until someone designs a machine head which works the same way as hand polishing. It is doubtful that this is even possible.

You cannot really compare a “T” or “V” shape profile produced on a CNC to a profile polished by hand or a line polisher machine. The profile from the CNC is never as shiny and will need to be touched up by hand if you want a high quality finish.

TIP: If your CNC machine is equipped with a saw gearbox than you can get an adapter made to attach the standard magnetic draining-board polishing tools to run them on the T-Profile. Provided your CAD-CAM-CNC software allows you to program that correctly especially the entry and exit of the tools are critical, not to crash the machine. The result is almost perfect but the arris or pencil round still needs to be finished off by hand after.

Tickle Lipo Advantages and Disadvantages

Liposuction technology has been evolving for decades. One of the most important developments in liposuction was the tumescent technique, popularized by Jeffrey Klein in 1987. The tumescent technique involves the use of large volumes of dilute lidocaine and epinephrine so that complete local anesthesia is obtained and blood loss is virtually nil. The excellent local anesthesia and minimal blood loss allow liposuction to be done entirely without sedation or general anesthesia. After the tumescent anesthesia is infused, the excess fat needs to be suctioned out using different cannulas attached to a suction device.

In traditional liposuction, the surgeon manually passes the cannula back and forth through the tissue, removing small amounts of fat with each pass. As the case proceeds, especially in larger volume liposuction, it can get quite tiring. Also, the physical force required is invariably associated with trauma to the surrounding connective tissues and blood vessels. In vibrational liposuction, such as Tickle Lipo, the cannula is instead attached to a handpiece that gives it side to side, back and forth and rotational movements. This creates a vortex-like force at the end of the cannula that helps to break up fat with minimal muscle force applied by the surgeon. Rather than relying on jerky back and forth movements, the surgeon is able to glide the cannula through the fat with ease. This allows a more artistic approach to sculpting the fat. Less trauma to the surrounding blood vessels means less blood less and less bruising. As bruising can persist for a couple of weeks after surgery, this is very useful. Less damage to supporting ligaments means that better skin tightening is achievable.

There are also some advantages over ultrasound-assisted liposuction and laser lipolysis. Ultrasonic liposuction involves using a solid ultrasonic cannula that first breaks up fat and a second step to remove the fat with a suction cannula. Laser lipolysis is similar, except that laser energy is used to melt the fat prior to removal. With both of these technologies, there is a chance of burns, but that is not the only disadvantage. In the opinion of the author, both require the surgeon to work blindly as they break up fat. Rather than seeing the final look evolve as more and more fat is suctioned away, as with traditional or vibrational liposuction, with these latter two technologies, the final product only begins to be seen after the ultrasonic or the laser portion is over. Although in use in 1993 in Europe, Tickle Lipo vibrational liposuction was only recently FDA-approved in the US. However, it is this author’s opinion that given the multiple advantages over existing liposuction technology, even laser and ultrasound, it is bound to receive a greater and greater share of the liposuction market.

What Are Most Popular Ways To Make International Calls At Cheaper Rates?

When it comes to making calls, you can choose from a large number of options. Usually, making domestic calls can be quite cost-effective and cheaper. But, making international calls can be quite expensive for most people. But if you stay away from your family in another country or have work-related delegates from other countries, making calls to international locations becomes a necessity.

But it is not a necessity to make expensive calls to other countries. You can save some money by using the cheaper ways and still make contact with your family and friends. Choosing the right method can help in staying connected with work or family.

The main choosing factor is the cost of the bundle. You can look around and talk to your network provider to include any type of international bundle if possible.

Health Care Supplements

Health care supplements are nutritional supplements that the body requires in routine day to day life. Health care supplements are made from plant extracts, vegetables, fruits and medical herbs. Health care supplements ensure effectiveness with minimal or no side effects.

A dietary supplement (also known as food supplement) is a preparation intended to supply nutrients (such as vitamins minerals, fatty acids or amino acids) that are missing or not consumed in sufficient quantity in a person’s diet.

“DSHEA” or Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act is an act defining dietary or nutritional supplements as products taken by mouth, containing ingredients intended to supplement the natural diet. These ingredients may include vitamins, minerals, ‘botanicals’ (plant extracts), amino acids or other substances to increase the nutrition in the diet.

Health supplements are specially made pills, powders or syrups which offer extra nourishment or medicinal benefits. If taken along with a healthy diet, these supplements can go a long way producing excellent health effects

Assuring the qualities of herbs and integrating them with vitamins, minerals and special extracts has led to the birth of these health care supplements which have, in a way, a boon the medicinal industry.

Healthcare supplements are accompanied with a complete list of ingredients, applications and advantages. Minimal or no side effects have made the common person self-sufficient with regard to consuming health supplements. Apart from beauty and weight-related remedies, various healthcare supplements also offer highly effective treatment options for a large number of diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, stress, arthritis, high cholesterol, asthma, migraines and many more.

Healthcare supplements available over the counter usually claim the presence of important nutrients that promise effectiveness of the product. Here is a guide to deciphering what they mean when they say:

1. “Amino acids” — Building blocks of protein, the substance that makes up a large portion of the human body. They are single unit of protein

2. “Antioxidants” — Substances that block or inhibit free radicals- molecules that speed up the aging process and contribute to illness.

3. “Minerals” — Natural, inorganic elements like calcium, iron, selenium and zinc.

4. “Vitamins” — Natural, organic compounds given letter designations (A, B1 to B12, C, D, E, K).

It is important to consult a health practitioner before consuming health care supplements to ensure they do not affect existing illnesses.
