Interesting Facts About Lewis and Clark’s Expedition

Lewis and Clark

Lewis’s family had been neighbors and friends with Jefferson for a long time, and Lewis was Jefferson’s personal aide. He had also studied navigation. He was 31.

Lewis brought along his Newfoundland dog, Seaman, but nobody is sure what happened to him.

Jefferson tried to send explorations 4 times before Lewis and Clark.

Sakakawea (other spelling) was kidnapped by another tribe of Indians when she was a young girl. She was then sold to a French-Canadian fur trader named Charbonneau. He married Sacajawea, and they had a son who was nicknamed Pomp. She was 16 and he was 3 months old.

The whole journey took 2 years 4 months and 10 days

It went for 8,000 miles.

The grizzly bear and the bighorn sheep were discovered on the mission. The grizzly bear made a really big impression on everyone on the exploration.

They sent a prairie dog back to Thomas Jefferson.

In total, they found 178 new plants and 122 new species of animals.

When they got back Clark was given the job of Indian agent for the west.

Lewis was made governor of the new Louisiana Territory, but he died soon after.

Clarks slave, York, went with them on the mission. York’s father was a slave of Clark’s father, so York was willed to Clark. He was the first black person the Indians had ever seen. York was married and wanted to live with his wife, but Clark would not let him. When they got back from the mission York was the only one not compensated for the journey.

The greatest distance traveled in one day was 50 miles when they were on a river going downstream.

The most popular trading items were colorful beads, but they also traded things like scissors, thimbles, and knives.

Frostbite was a common medical problem.

After the people on the expedition tried on the moccasins, they all began wearing them. Sometimes, they had to replace them every couple of days.

Is There a Prophet Among Us? The Amazing Life of Fred Stone

Who is Perry “Fred” Stone, Sr.? Some would say holy-roller preacher, others would say healer. To Mr. Stone, the most important title would be Proud Servant of the Most High God. Born on February 11, 1933 to William Henry Stone and Nalvie Dunford Ball in Johnny Cake Hollow, West Virginia, his initial entry into the world was met with challenges, for after his mother gave birth, the mid-wife attempted to kidnap him. If Fred’s father had not arrived in the nick of time to rescue him, only God knows what his fate would have been. From the beginning, it seems Satan has tried to interrupt God’s plan on Fred Stone’s life. However, he has prevailed and has used his ministry to honor and glorify the God of Israel.

At age sixteen, Fred attended a revival in West Virginia that changed his life. During the service the preacher, Mildred Collins asked, “Fred, if you should die at midnight tonight, where would you spend eternity? You are lost without God.” The amazing thing is that Mildred did not know Fred and later informed Fred that she never spoke those words. What’s more intriguing is that none of the parishioners heard Mildred speak those words to Fred. Nonetheless, the Holy Spirit convicted his soul that night and Fred went to the altar and gave his life to Jesus Christ.

After his conversion, Fred witnessed spiritual gifts operating throughout the church by other people and went to the altar and prayed to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It wasn’t a long, drawn out prayer unto the Lord. It was a simple one. He prayed, “Lord, whatever this is that everybody else has, I’d like to have it too. It looks to me that like I need it.” After three days of praying, God answered his prayers and he received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

During Fred’s early ministry, the Lord moved tremendously. Fred healed countless people: A woman whose face had been eaten with cancer was healed through prayer and anointing. A man who was born blind in one eye miraculously healed and gained eye sight he never had. As he grew spiritually in the Lord, he met a beautiful singer, Juanita Bava at a revival. They had four children: Diane, Melanie, Perry Jr, and Phillip.

The Holy Spirit constantly moved through the churches which Fred pastured. Although there are numerous churches in the world, it is important to allow the Holy Spirit to move through out the church. More importantly, it is necessary for the pastor over the congregation to allow the Lord to use him/her as a His vessel. God has used Fred Stone as an instrument in displaying all nine gifts of the Holy Spirit; he explains each gift in detail:

Word of Wisdom- A spiritual declaration that applies the Word of God.

Word of Knowledge- An inspirational revelation that provides knowledge from God about a specific person or circumstance.

Faith- A supernatural ability to trust and believe God for the miraculous.

Gift of Healing-From prayer of a believer in Christ, the supernatural of God heals physical and emotional health to the sick.

Working of Miracles- Supernatural acts of God that often change the course of natural law.

Prophecy- An utterance that comes directly from God by prompting of the Holy Spirit that reveals the will of God in a specific situation.

Discerning of Spirits- Enables the believer to recognize whether a spirit, a prophecy, a word is truly from the Holy Spirit.

Different Kinds of Tongues- The Spirit-filled believer supernaturally speaks in different languages unknown to the speaker.

Interpretation of Tongues- Through the Holy Spirit, this gift makes known the meaning of the revelation that was spoken in tongues.

Some denominations claim that the gift of tongues no longer happens in today’s age. That simply is not true. On one occasion when he was at the altar praying for a man, Fred spoke in tongues and when Fred finished praying the man said, “You were praying in a perfect Arabic language. You spoke my name and asked the Lord to fill me with the Holy Spirit.” Fred Stone has never been taught to speak Arabic. Just like on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is still using the gifts of tongues to reach unbelievers.

Throughout his life, Fred often mentions how the Holy Spirit has warned him of coming trouble. What is so amazing is that sometimes these warning are in dreams, visions, or a clear audible voice. In 1952, as he was driving through English, West Virginia, the Lord told Fred to slow his car down because the tie rod was about to fall off–Fred obeyed and minutes later the tie rod fell off as he drove across a bridge. In 1968, the Lord gave him a vision about an impending attack against his brother serving in the Vietnam War. He quickly wrote his brother, telling him of the details of the vision, which proved to save the life of his brother due the vision the Lord gave Fred. In one circumstance, Fred did not heed the warning of the Holy Spirit and he and his family paid a heavy price. In 1960, near Elkin, West Virginia the Lord tried to warn him three times of an impending accident and Fred did not heed the warnings and his family was involved in a near fatal accident.

Perry “Fred” Stone, Sr. has been on the great commission to spread the Gospel for God since the Lord called him during that revival in West Virginia. You may not be familiar with his name or know who he is, but he is a unique treasure. In reading the story about his life, there has been a noticeable common thread: the altar. He constantly went to the altar before God and humbly asked for whatever he needed. In going to the altar, Fred has led many people to Jesus Christ. Not to mention, his son Perry Stone continues his father’s legacy in spreading the Gospel. Apostle, prophet, man of God…any of these titles Fred Stone could easily claim. However, I have no doubt the most important title to him is “faithful servant” an honorable name bestowed to those most deserving. After he finishes the race, I’m sure he’ll hear those words that all Christians long to hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Kidnappers in Lagos Devise New Ways to Abduct Victims, Including Approaching Them in Police Uniforms

ON Saturday, September 21 when Mrs Adebusola Odunaya stepped out of her house, it was with the hope of getting to Idumota where she had intended to purchase a stock of noodles and some other items for her business. But little did she know that the journey that usually takes her a few hours would turn to six days of anguish in an unknown destination in the jungle, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Thank God she survived to narrate her story.

Mrs Odunaya, Women leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Cornerstone Parish, Lagos, recounted how her journey began on that day. According to her, when she got to Ishaga area, there was no vehicle going to Idumota, so she decided to go to Agege, and still there was no vehicle going to Idumota directly. She had to board a Molue bus going to Oshodi where she had expected to get a direct bus to her destination. As fate would have it, a smaller danfo bus conductor began calling Idumota, which made her quickly alight from the Molue, thinking that her journey would be faster with the direct bus.

She however recalled that they were only three women in the bus, including the driver when she boarded. As soon as she joined them, the women asked the driver to move so that they can carry other passengers along. And as they were expecting the driver to move, the conductor came along and touched her with a handkerchief and she passed out instantly, just to wake up later in a bush along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. She discovered that her hair been shaven and has also been dispossessed of the N500,000 she intended to use for the purchase of goods in Idumota.

If Odunaya’s story was harrowing and shocking, Alhaji Alaka Kamaldeen’s story could pass for a typical blockbuster Nollywood horror movie. According to the 46-year-old contractor, based in Ikorodu, Lagos, he was standing in front of his office on August 24, when an Audi car with four passengers suddenly pulled close to him, armed with guns. And without saying a word they pounced on him, slapped him repeatedly before dragging him into the car.

According to him, one of the men wore a bulletproof vest in the manner of the police, which initially made him to think that they were security operatives. It wasn’t until they got to Itokin junction that he began to suspect that something was fishy. Instead of heading to the police station, they veered off the road into the bush. It then dawned on him that he had been kidnapped. He began to scream as they were approaching the seaside, and as the car tried to speed by, it sank into the sand, making it difficult for them to move. Kamaldeen began to scream for help as people began to gather, but instead of that scaring the abductors away; they began to shoot sporadically into the air to disperse the crowd. They came down and pushed the car and drove close to a creek and began calling a contact for a boat. As they waited for the boat, Kamaldeen’s captors descendend on him before dousing him with fuel, and they threatened to lynch him. Not long afterward a speedboat arrived, even as the abductors removed the plate number of the car.

According to Kamaldeen, there were about ten 100-litre jerry cans, possibly containing fuel for the eight hours journey that would take them to Warri, Delta State. He, recounted in full details, how he was kidnapped since he was not blindfolded. He told the press how at intervals, they encountered what looked like checkpoints manned by other kidnappers in the creeks. At each of these checkpoints, he noted that the kidnappers would be asked to identify themselves and the captors would raise their hands in response.

While narrating his ordeal Kamaldeen gave a vivid description of the camp. He said the camp was surrounded by many huts, with many people held hostage. In his words “I was brought before the head of the kidnappers, who was dressed in a suit, He was unimpressed when he discovered that I was neither a captain of industry nor a politician but just an ordinary citizen. I was then taken to a section of the camp suitable for my station in life and passed the night on a bed made of logs and wood”, he said.

Kamaldeen, whose family was contacted and asked to pay the ransom of N150million, was later released upon parting with N5million amidst pleas with the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, the police recently smashed a kidnap syndicate of eight, which include a woman believed to be responsible for the death of a businessman, Mr. Odidi Nweze in FESTAC. The commissioner of Police, Mr. Manko however said that the modus operandi of the syndicate was to kidnap their victims and take them to FESTAC. He however expressed his concern over the number of victims who had been taken to FESTAC.

According to him, kidnapping that had been recorded in the recent times had their victims drugged and taken to FESTAC. Their kingpin, Kelvin Emenike, who was lured to Lagos by the Police in the pretence of having a business proposal for him, was the first to be arrested.

Emenike gave vivid details of how they operate, stating that they usually go on motorcycles and trail people in flashy cars and attack them. After kidnapping them, they would call the family for ransom.

Kidnapping is no longer news in Nigeria, but because of its commercial disposition in Nigeria, Lagos needs to be protected. Both the federal and the state governments need to join hands to fight this criminality, which is becoming viral, Niyi Adebisi, a legal practitioner noted.

The Madness Chronicles – Episode 46

In our 46th episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll look at the madness of Islam around the world. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a form of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at some Islamic madness heading our way.

It’s been a while since we looked, and the goings-on in Islam and time hasn’t changed a thing. In Pakistan, Zee News reported, “Atrocities on minorities continue in Imran Khan’s Pakistan, two Hindu girls kidnapped, forcibly converted to Islam.” The kidnapping and forced conversions have been a problem throughout 2020.

In Delhi, India, a leader of the group United Against Hate admitted to authorities he and his group were behind the riots and efforts to destabilize the government. Umar Khalid, a Muslim leader of the group, said in his confession. “For this, no matter how many fires must be lit across the country, the government suffers a loss of face abroad, how many houses must be burnt, how many Hindus must be killed, we will do it.” Khalid is upset that native Indians accuse Islam of being intolerant.

In Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, FBI agents arrested Khaled Miah, no apparent relation to Umar Khalid of Pakistan, on terrorism charges. After threats Miah made online, the FBI visited him to discuss his posts. Following their visit, Miah began stalking the FBI Agent who was investigating him and began Tweeting the agents’ wife’s home address and phone. It was also found he was an ISIS supporter, although apparently not one of the brighter ones.

In Northern Cameroon, Boko Haram terrorists stormed a village, firing shots in the air. Villagers fled to a park, where Boko Haram fighters brought a girl strapped with explosives. Twelve villagers, the young suicide bomber, and a Boko Haram terrorist were killed in the explosion. At the same time, two more people were seriously injured. It was just the latest example of the Muslim terrorist group’s atrocities.

In news out of Beni, Congo, at least 22 people were killed in an overnight raid on a Christian village in a part of the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo plagued by Islamist rebel attacks. The attack, killing Mwenda village residents with machetes and guns, was carried out by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). This Ugandan Islamist group has emerged as the most lethal militia in Congo’s eastern borderlands. It is suspected of hacking to death at least 17 people in a nearby village last week.

In a report out of France, it seems an Islamic State’ refugee’ used his monthly welfare allotment to buy sex slaves. As the story developed, journalist Sara Daniel reported on the victim. “Marie maybe 35 years old and outdated in a market saturated with very young Yazidis, her religion more than makes up for her age in the eyes of the jihadists. Christians are rare gems, the reserved property of the most deserving leaders and allies. Marie does not know this, nor does she imagine that the color of her blond hair increases the desire of her jailers: Christian, blonde, she is a gem.”

We may all live in 2020, but there is an entire Islamic society living in Medieval times. Islamists living in the real world work very hard to promote the idea of ‘Islamaphobia.’ The mystical notion that there is nothing to see and all this behavior is normal.

May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health, and until next time, have fun, enjoy life, and watch out for the madness amongst us. It’s 2020; look around; it’s outrageous.

7 Best Witch Movies of All Time

In researching my upcoming novel, not only do I have to read everything I can about witchcraft, but every once in a while I get to settle in and even watch a movie based on witches. I’ve compiled a list of my top 7 favorite witch movies below.

The Blair Witch Project – Top honors have to go to this film! Even though you never see the witch on film, she remains more terrifying than any other. This film created an illusion of truth through its marketing and presentation (shaky film footage) that left some audience members trembling in their seats and others physically ill. No wonder it was the most successful independent movie of all time.

The Harry Potter Movies – Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m a total Harry Potter geek. What kid didn’t dream of being a witch or wizard after seeing those films?

Practical Magic – This is one of my favorite movies. I love all of the crazy spells and the “signs” that they see in the moon. Throw in a little romance, kidnapping, and murder, and it makes for a great Saturday night!

The Witches of Eastwick – A classic! Three women discover their magical powers by accident when they are seduced by the same devil-like man. From sharing a man to taking back control of their lives, it’s a fun movie to watch.

The Craft – Take the new girl at school and throw her in with a group of misfit witches and it’s The Breakfast Club meets The Witches of Eastwick. What is not to like?

Beautiful Creatures – Okay, I know it’s not everyone’s favorite, but I loved the entire idea about a witch coming of age and being claimed by the light or the dark based on her “true nature”. How many of us could pass a test like that?

Dark Shadows – Oh, I can almost hear the groan from the peanut gallery, but I honestly enjoy this film. I love the idea of a witch as a scorned lover and seeking her revenge. It doesn’t hurt that the man in question is the always sexy Johnny Depp, but the overall lesson is there. That will teach a man not to love ’em and leave ’em.

There you have it. My list of the best witch movies to watch again and again. I don’t call it procrastinating, I call it research. Who knew research could be so much fun?

Ten Important Facts About Garden Gnome Statues

Some of the most interesting pieces that can be found in gardens and front lawns of many houses are the garden gnome statues. Cute, funny and adorable, a lawn gnome is the envy of many, especially children. They have their own way of tickling your senses and beautifying your lawns.

Why are these statues such a hit with homeowners? What’s with these statues that make them the favorites of many? How did the hype in these statues start? Well, get to know them better from these important facts:

1. Garden gnomes are woodland creatures known for their gentleness and hard work. They wear pointy red hats and live for more than 400 years.

2. These small creatures are known to help with the household chores, particularly planting and sweeping. No wonder that most garden gnome statues are seen holding garden tools! However, most of the statues we see today depict them as sleeping or sitting.

3. Garden gnome statues are believed to be harbingers of good luck, especially when they are placed in lawns or insides the homes. This is also where the practice of placing them in the front lawn originated.

4. The first lawn gnome came about in the 1800s during the Victorian age. Germany was the first country to popularize these statues which were originally made from clay. Later on, variations of these famous statues came in different materials such as polyresin and plastic.

5. It was in 1960 that these statues were mass produced. However, during that time, statues were made of plastic and badly painted. They did not last.

6. In 1997, gnomes appeared in a hit movie which paved the way for some people to have interest over these little creatures. The fad caught on because four years after, in 2001, gnomes appeared in another movie.

7. In some parts of Europe, gnome kidnapping has transformed into a practical joke. An ad campaign for one website was even seen depicting a kidnapped statue sometime in 2003. Gnome followers even proposed for a bill penalizing the act as a crime.

8. Some people have caught up with the hype on gnomes. This lead to another passion, which is garden gnome collecting.

9. Garden gnome statues are not only ideal outdoors. They are also perfect for display indoors. Since they come in different designs, a cute figure will come as the perfect decor.

10. One place in North Devon, England has been transformed into a gnome reserve. Unbelievably, the park is home to more than 1,000 garden and lawn gnomes.

Garden gnomes have gone a long way from being just a mythical creature into an iconic symbol. They even have their own following, whether on the internet or in the real world. As garden gnome statues, they have evolved from a mere plastic ornament into clay, concrete or of poly resin material. They come in different sizes too and with different moods. Let’s face it. Gnomes are making a big comeback. In fact, they have already found their way into our homes and into our hearts.

Felony DUI 402 Reductions in Utah

Facing a felony DUI charge can be an intimidating experience, especially if you are remorseful about your offense and any tragedy it caused. However, in Utah it may be possible to reduce your felony charge to a misdemeanor conviction under Utah Code 76-3-402, also known as a Utah 402 reduction. Whether or not your case qualifies depends largely on the circumstances in your case, your attitude, the prosecutor’s opinion, and the testimony of any victims.

Reductions for misdemeanors under the 402 rule are barred by statute. Only felonies are eligible for reduction, either to a lower grade felony or to a misdemeanor. The DUI offenses that are felonies in Utah and thus eligible for 402 reduction are:

• First or second DUI with two or more prior convictions in the last 10 years

• Second DUI with previous felony DUI offense

• First or second DUI with previous automobile homicide conviction that occurred after 07/01/01

• DUI with Serious Bodily Injury 3rd degree

• Automobile Homicide – DUI resulting in death of another 2nd degree

Whether your specific case will be eligible for reduction is largely at the court’s discretion. The factors that will determine if you qualify for a 402 reduction include:

• If you complete all of your initially sentenced requirements and are successfully discharged from probation

• The prosecuting attorney’s stance on the matter

• The stance of any victims on the matter

• The nature and circumstances of the offense

• Your history and character

• If the court finds a lower offense is in the interest of justice

If you are on the Sex Offender and Kidnap Offender Registry for Utah, you will not be eligible for a 402 reduction until your registry requirements expire. If you are required to be a registered sex offender for life, you will not qualify for this reduction. An experienced Utah DUI defense attorney will be able to examine your case for 402 reduction eligibility as well as fight for obtaining the reduction.

Unless the prosecutor specifically agrees in writing or on court records to reduce your offense by two degrees, your 402 reduction will only be good for one degree off your offense. The court may not under any circumstances reduce a charge under Utah Code 76-3-402 more than two degrees. For DUI this means it is possible to:

• Reduce a third-degree felony (most felony DUI offenses) to a Class A misdemeanor

• Reduce a third-degree felony to a Class B misdemeanor with the prosecution’s support

• Reduce a second-degree felony (automobile homicide) to a third-degree felony

• Reduce a second-degree felony to a Class A misdemeanor

The offender will then serve his or her sentence in accordance with the new charge, although the name of the offense will not be altered. Also, any additional sanctions or statutory enhancements imposed on the original level of offense will count as a level of reduction if removed.

Once the 402 reduction is complete and you have completed your sentencing requirements successfully, your record is eligible to be expunged. A 402 reduction and a subsequent expunction, therefore, could greatly impact your ability to have a successful future and reduce your chances of recidivism.

Vito Cascioferro

Vito Casciofero was a prominent boss of the Sicilian Mafia and also known as Don Vito. Some says that he was the ‘Boss of Bosses’ and a legend. He was born in January 22, 1862 in a very poor family. He was raised in a rural town named Bisacquino but his actual birthplace is Palermo. His father and mother were illiterate and his father worked as an armed guard in Bisacquino. He started as a revenue collector but beside this character he started criminal activities as menacing, kidnapping etc.

Cascioferro was recruited into a Sicilian League by Bernardino Verro and Cascioferro became the president of that League. He was punished for kidnapping and for escaping from police he sailed to America in 1901. He was worked as a fruits importer for two and half years in New York.

He joined the Morello Mafia gang in USA but came back in Sicily in 1904 as USA police sergeant ordered his arrest. A journalist named Luigi Barzini described Don Vito as very intelligent. He ruled his area with great qualities. He always started a journey dressed in best cloths and he was loved by all, generous by nature and very helpful.

Joe Petrosino was a police man of USA and head of Italian police. He described Cascioferro as ‘Terrible criminal’. Joe was shot and killed and Cascioferro is considered as murderer. Cascioferro was about to join a noble party. He excused and had gone to Piazza Marina and killed Joe Petrosino and returned to party. This news spread very fast in USA. Joe described Cascioferro as ‘Terrible criminal’.

Because of lack of evidence the Joe murder case was never solved and Court of Appeals sends Cascioferro to trial. In his lifetime he was arrested for many times but not convicted. According to some writers he agreed that he had killed the policeman but a police commissioner concluded that this murder probably organized by other people under Cascioferro’s direction.

In 1926 Fascist leader Mussolini ordered Prefect Cesare Mori to destroy Mafia. Mori arrested Cascioferro and 150 other members were also arrested. His godson asked a landlord to help Cascioferro but landlord replied that ‘Time has changed’. Cascioferro was sentenced to life in 1930. During his prison life he died of natural causes. An Italian author stated that probably he died of dehydration in 1943. Some says that he was transferred to another prison. Historians consider Cascioferro as a great leader of Mafia history.

Rastafarianism and the Impact on the World

Haile Selassie was born Tafari Mekanon in the late 1800’s in the African country Ethiopia. He was crowned king, or “Ras” Tafari in the 1930’s, thus fulfilling the prophecy of Marcus Garvey decades earlier has he proclaimed, “look to the east for the coming of a black king.” Marcus Garvey is looked at in the Rastafarian movement as the biblical Moses since he was not only one of the greatest advocates for black repatriation in the Western World but also since he prophetically introduced and announced the coming of the Messiah. When the early Rasta’s heard of the crowing of King Selassie – they knew that Marcus’s prophecy was fulfilled.

Early Rastafarians were not accepted by the Jamaican population at large. They were looked at as dirty and grimy men that lived in the hills and used drugs, mainly Ganja, spoke against the government and believed in Jah Rastafari over Jesus. Many early rastas where persecuted by their Jamaican countrymen for their religious believes. Rastas where also targeted by the police and government officials since they did not follow the with the “clean cut” majority and where known to use ganja. Early accusations where made against the Rastafarian’s in the 30’s and 40’s as criminals and many robberies, murders, rapes and other crimes where pinned on the early rastas without any proof. Discrimination continued throughout the ensuing decades as families ties where broken when members joined the Rastafarian’s and police where known to kidnap rastas, cut their dreadlocks off and return them to their homes with shaved heads.

The Rastas, though, where peace loving, and positive people, who practiced more moral good than many Jamaicans who discriminated against them. Strict Rastafarian’s do not use alcohol, and Jamaica is well known for its spicy rums. Strict Rastafarian’s do not eat red meet either, and Jamaicans are also known for barbecued meets. These rasta men practice a lifestyle that is similar to the biblical tradition of the Nazarenes where they would take abstinence against many of lives pleasures. As the 1950’s approached Jamaica – Rastafarianism was become more and more popular and soon the nyabinghi warrior sounds that were being chanted in the hills of Jamaica by rastas was about to make an entry to the city and Jamaican pop culture and soon the world.

Jamaicans have always had an extreme love for music. Weather it be the rock and roll sounds that came from America or the tribal beats that many of the decedents of the African slaves have kept boiling in their blood, Jamaica united the musical traditions of many cultures. From Rock-steady to Ska came Reggae music. The islands biggest claim to fame. And it was through the Reggae music of Jamaica that the Rastafari movement was to spread its message around the world in the form of a musical prophet the world knows as Robert Nesta Marley.

Bob Marley began his musical career before he converted to Rastafarian. But it was through his spiritual transformation that his music took a serious shift and headed to the direction of international stardom and associating Jamaica, a little known island in the Caribbean, as being the birthplace of reggae and the birthplace of Marley. Marley’s ability to sing and unite harmonious rhythms of voice, beats and instrument has had millions of people wondering if he was indeed sent by Jah to inform the people. Like a messenger from God Marley would sing to his fellow man songs of joy, songs of love, songs of pain, and songs of freedom. And it was through this style and skill that dubbed him the “king of reggae” – a thrown that will never be taken over.

Rasta music is roots music. Music that carries the nyabinghi beat of the warrior ancestors from Africa. Rasta music is fire music. Music that will ignite your heart and fill your soul with warmth and wonder. Rasta music is Reggae music, and the spiritual guidance comes from the creator of the universe Jah Rastafari. Jah Live.
