The Story Behind Integrity Toys’ Fashion Royalty Line

Integrity Toys is one of the companies in the market today that produces a wide selection of fashionable dolls. The collections available are reminiscent of haute couture, golden age Hollywood glamour, and other modern-age high fashion themes. The dolls are mostly ball jointed and each has their own exquisite array of wardrobes. Integrity Toys had then hired Jason Wu as a freelance doll clothing designer when he was still sixteen. Jason Wu later created the Integrity Toy’s doll collection called Fashion Royalty and he was later named as the creative director of Integrity Toys a year after.

The story line behind the Fashion Royalty line revolves around the competition between two huge cosmetic companies who are fighting over market shares in the European market and eventually global dominance. Their world had then become ever more challenging with the entrance of a third huge company ready to complicate the competition. Thus, collectors of the Fashion Royalty line will be introduced to the companies “W” (owned by Veronique Perrin), “V” (formed by Baroness Agnes Von Weiss), and Missima Cosmetics (headed by Natalie Fatale).

For doll collectors who are interested in fashion and creative designing, the characters of Fashion Royalty will provide you inspiration. Famous characters of this line are Veronique Perrin, Vanessa Perrin, Adele Makeda, Isha, Luchia Z., Baroness Agnes Von Weiss, Kyori Sato, Natalia Fatale, Eugenia Perrin Frost, Darius Reid, Pierre DeVries, and Francisco Leon. The Fashion Royalty collection of Jason Wu was first unveiled at the International Toy Fair in February 2001 in New York City. Every year there is an exciting new look for almost every character with new wardrobes in line. An accessory that should be part of every collector’s line-up is the story card portfolio which only had 1000 of these produced.

In 2009, the Future Perfect Collection was introduced with a new exciting feature. The dolls’ bodies came with a “handspeak system” wherein the hands can be removed to make wardrobe change easier. They also came with additional hands that are posed to hold with accessories. In 2010, Integrity Toys launched the Foundation Dazzle Collection which showcased haute couture and the fashion of the swinging 60s for W Cosmetics’ new fashion ad campaign. The sophisticated look of this collection reminds collectors of the original inspiration for these dolls which is the Gene Marshall.

Collectors of Jason Wu’s Fashion Royalty dolls will never cease to get excited as new lines and repaints are introduced each year. Every year, there is also a set of limited edition dolls of 180 figures to at most a thousand figures produced for a single character or design. Thus, collectors of the series will surely appreciate the exclusiveness and rarity of some doll models perhaps after a decade or so.

Dolls Houses – Child’s Play Or Just For the Adults?

To most people dolls houses are designed for the amusement of children or collectors, and serve no real purpose other than to keep one occupied; or, in the case of children, out of mischief. However, just a little research into the history of the dolls house reveals a far more interesting background than one might imagine.

Spanning across thousands of years, the humble dolls house has changed significantly in not only appearance, but also function. The earliest known examples of what we would now call dolls houses were miniature homes, discovered in Egyptian Tombs and thought to be created over 5,000 years ago. Built out of wood, it is believed the models, which included servants, furnishings and livestock, served religious purposes.

It was the 16th century however, which saw the introduction of dolls houses for entertainment purposes. Known as ‘baby houses’, the models were cabinet display cases made up of different rooms, which were decorated with such things as miniature household items. The design and architecture would have been painstakingly created and they were intended for the sole purpose of adults.

It was mainly the wealthy who owned them, since in those days, the building of a dolls house would have been commissioned by specialist craftsmen. Especially favoured by the mistresses of rich households, guests would bring small presents, such as dolls house dolls, wooden dolls house furniture or accessories, as a thank you for their hospitality.

As time passed, however, the function of the houses changed. Interestingly, they became educational aids for young girls, in order to teach them about the function of a household and to learn domestic skills.

By the mid 19th century, and helped along by the advent of mass production, the popularity of dolls houses soared, and due to their much lower cost, the majority of girls in the western world owned one.

Nowadays, dolls houses are a great gift for children and collectors alike. Their design has advanced a long way since their inception and it is possible to buy them in a range of different options, for example wooden dolls houses, and for a variety of purposes.

Many collectors relish the opportunity to recreate past eras or present events, often opting to build the dolls house themselves. There are also a large number of museums and shops dedicated to the art of dolls houses and their history, which just goes to prove the popularity among the older generations.

However, it is said that dolls houses are a great way to help children develop social skills and confidence at an early age, and it can be argued that the passion many collectors develop for dolls houses stems from early childhood memories of playing with them.

Indeed, dolls houses [http://www.elc.co.uk/toys/lets-pretend/dolls-houses-furniture/] can be a great way for parents to bond with their offspring, since it is possible to build and decorate them together. What’s more, with a wealth of items available, such as dolls house furniture, accessories and dolls themselves, they make a great gift for children.

Voodoo Magic Made Simple: Symbolism in Spells and Dolls

Voodoo is a very confusing and complicated religion. But the magic behind it is actually quite simple. Once you understand that symbolism and representation are the two key factors in performing the magic spells, the rest is easy. Starting with a simple love spell, we can take the names of both people and write them on a pink piece of paper. Use red ink to write the names, draw a circle around the names and cut the paper into a heart shape. Then fold the paper in half with the names of the people touching each other. Burn this paper using the flame of a pink candle. Take the ashes and put them in a tiny box. Add rose petals and daminan. Seal the box and bury it in the yard of the person wanting the love spell. Very basic, very easy, and yet very effective. This spell is based almost solely on symbolization. When you understand this, you can create spells of your own. First we start with writing the two names. You write them in red ink because red is one of the colors representing love. Next, you draw a circle around the names. This represents the two people being together and sealed away from influences of anyone else. You cut the paper into a heart shape, once again representing love. You fold the paper in half and have the names touching each other. This represents bringing the people together. By burning the paper, you are making the situation unable to be changed. So you have burned the paper with the names touching, which means that these people are together and cannot be broken apart. You mix the ashes with rose petals, rose being a flower of love and the herb, damiana which is an herb used in love magic, then seal these items in a box and bury it. This just sets the magic again, where it can’t be broken. Sometimes the easiest spells can be the most powerful. They don’t have to be fancy and complicated to work.

The same rule of thumb can be followed in any kind of magic spell. Take a spell to attract money for instance. Start with a dollar bill. Sign your name on it in small writing. Rub any type of money drawing oil over where your signature is. Money drawing oil can be obtained through almost any type of magic or occult shop. Next, take a small green piece of paper and write your name in the middle of it in green ink. Draw five dollar signs around your name forming a circle around it. When doing magic, you always want to use odd numbers, hence the five dollar signs. Draw a large circle around your name including the dollar signs in it. This seals the money with you so that you don’t “lose” it. Take the dollar bill and place it flat with your signature facing up. Then take the piece of green paper and place it on top of the dollar bill. Finally take a green feather and set it on top of the paper. take all of these items and fold them in half. Continue folding them until they are small enough to fit in a green gris-gris bag. An empty gris-gris bag may be purchased from a magic or occult store for very cheap. Be sure that it is green to symbolize money. You can even make your own bag out of green fabric. Be sure that the bag is sealed so that nothing can get in or out of the bag and carry it with you to attract money. It can be carried in a wallet or a purse, or in your pocket. Once again, a very easy spell yet also very effective.

The idea of symbolism is used regardless of what kind of magic you are working. Take for instance a voodoo doll. Say that you want to make one to make someone have loving feelings towards you. You can either buy a blank doll or you can make one yourself. If you do one yourself, you can stuff him with Spanish moss and a combination of some herbs that have to do with love and power. For instance, damiana, mugwart, orris root, and lavender would make a nice combination. When you add these to the Spanish moss, this gives you 5 stuffings. Notice the “odd” number. Now you can do various things when making the doll to get your desired effect. Remember the symbolism. You might want to write your name on a small piece of paper and put it into the head of the doll. Hence you will always be in the thoughts of the person. Also, you may want to take a small piece of pink or red paper, cut it into a heart shape, then write your name on it. You can sprinkle some damiana over your name and seal it on there with wax from a pink or red candle. Now you have the dolls heart with your name on it, so the person’s heart is yours. Then you can either put that inside of the doll or attach it to the outside of the chest of the doll, which ever you prefer. You want to make the doll resemble the person as much as possible. If you can, you can use a photo of the person’s face for the face of your doll. If you have hair or nail clippings, you can put these inside of the doll. If you have access to any of the person’s clothing, you can use these to make clothes for your doll. If the person has any scars or tattoos, be sure to draw these on the doll as well. Finally, after sewing your doll closed and you have put everything on him that you want, the final step is to bind him to you. You can do this with either some of your hair(if you have hair long enough) or with a piece of your jewelry or clothing. If you are going to use your hair, which is actually the most effective, You take a small amount of your hair and braid it. After it is braided, then you tie it around the doll. If the hair is long enough, then you can tie around the arms, legs and body of the doll. This symbolizes that you have complete control over this person. You can also use a necklace. Do the same thing and wrap it around the doll, or a ring on a piece of ribbon can be used. Just be sure that if you use jewelry, it must be something that you actually wear and has personal importance to you. This is also the case if you use an article of your clothing.

The symbolism also works for what you do with the doll. If you have a person who is angry and needs to “chill out”, then you can put the doll in the freezer for a little while. If the person yells or says nasty things, you can cover the mouth of the doll. The possibilities are endless. The disposal of the doll after you decide that you don’t want to use it anymore is also important. You take away the object that bound the doll. Then you open him and remove all of the stuffing. You want to be sure and bury. Next you take the empty doll and bury it separate from its controlling insides that you removed. If you wrote the persons name on the doll, then you want to be sure that you mark it out completely with black marker.

Symbolism is the key to whatever type of magic that you want to perform. You can make any spell effective simply by using good symbolism and representation.

Does Anyone Remember the Cabbage Patch Craze?

If you are over 30 years old, you probably remember the craze of the Cabbage Patch Dolls in the 1980’s. People waited in lines for hours just for the privilege of purchasing one of these dolls. Stores couldn’t keep them on the shelves. Some people think it was the biggest marketing gimmick of the 1980’s.

The dolls were originally designed by a man named Xavier Roberts living in Georgia. In 1982 Roberts sold the mass production rights to the Coleco Toy Company. As you might remember, each Cabbage Patch doll came with its own name and birthday, adoption papers and birth certificate. Each doll was said to be unique (just a tiny bit different).

For the first few years, It seemed that Coleco couldn’t produce these dolls fast enough. The dolls were in such short supply around Christmas time, that some stores had to call the police just to control the crowds waiting in line for the dolls. Other stores decided to hold lotteries to fairly distribute the dolls and to avoid mob-like scenes. In 1985 Coleco reported a record sales of $600 million dollars thanks to the Cabbage Patch dolls.

Obviously, like most fads, the Cabbage Patch fad didn’t last very long. Sales fell from $600 million in 1985 to just $250 million in 1986. There were scalpers and profiteers that were left with closets full of dolls that suddenly were not selling very well anymore. Coleco then tried many things to revive the market for the dolls by making the dolls “do things” such as talk. However, things went downhill from there and Coleco had to file for bankruptcy in 1988.

The Hasbro Company obtained the rights to produce the doll in 1989. They gradually began making the dolls for younger children, leading to smaller dolls. Even though Cabbage Patch dolls were one the best selling dolls. Hasbro was never able to revitalize the Cabbage Patch market. In 1994 Mattel purchased the rights to the doll.

Mattel currently still produces Cabbage patch dolls. However, the dolls no longer have cloth bodies, they continue to be all vinyl play dolls. The dolls are generally about 14 inches or smaller, and most of them come with a gimmick such as swimming eating or brushing teeth. Most of the Cabbage Patch dolls made by Mattel are still available at some mass market retailers such as Toy’s R US. The price tag is generally under $20.

What is ‘Reborning’ and What Are Reborn Dolls?

Reborning is the art of transforming a vinyl doll (either whole doll or kit) into a realistic looking baby doll (usually of a human baby- but sometimes elves or chimpanzees may be made). The person who makes this transformation is called a ‘reborner” or reborn artist. The more realistic looking the doll is the more successful the artist is considered. Once completed the doll is called a ‘reborn’, ‘reborn doll’, ‘reborn baby”or ‘fake baby’. There are artists all over the world who do reborning. Some reborn artists will take a factory made doll, take it apart, repaint it and reassemble it.

In more recent times artists use a manufactured vinyl kit made especially to be reborn. The manufacture of kits has become an expanding industry with more and more talented doll sculptors having their creations turned into vinyl kits. Kits are sometimes limited editions and in demand worldwide. Some reborners and collectors or reborns collect kits as keep these as prized possessions only giving them up when personal financial pressure necessitates it or they trade them for even more desirable kits. New kits come out regularly and they are more and more detailed and varied. In very recent times we have seen some kits resold on eBay for up to 10 times their original value as they are limited editions, sold out worldwide and in much demand.

‘Reborning’ begins with washing and then painting the vinyl parts with oil, acrylic or water based paints. Paints are being developed especially for the art. Paints are applied with brushes and sponges to get as realistic skin tones as possible. This is the ultimate goal of the artist and the range of techniques used is large and an individual develops these techniques over time. The paint sinks into the vinyl and tints it (like water colour paint does on paper) rather than sitting on top of the vinyl. The paints are somewhat unreliable in their behaviour so the process required judgement to add a paint layer, check outcome against what is desired then repaint another layer. The reborner needs to have a strong idea of what skin tone or affect they are trying to achieve.

Some paints require baking and there has been controversy over the health effects of the fumes to the reborner. Artists paint on veins, capillaries, birth marks, 3d eyebrows, scratches and newborn red patches (ie stork bites) to get the most realistic affects. Hair (usually mohair) is then micro-rooted into the dolls head a few strands at a time so that the head looks natural and realistic. For toddler size dolls high quality wigs may be used. Some artists may paint the baby’s head one hair at a time to get a very realistic look.

Micro-rooting a newborn doll size head may take more than 40 hours to ensure a realistic appearance. Some artists can create exquisite skin tones on the vinyl and some who can create wonderfully realistic hair rooting pattern (painstakingly one hair at a time) including crowns and parts. Eyelashes are either applied by gluing to open eyed dolls or micro-rooting on sleeping dolls. The vinyl legs, arms and head are then weighted, filled and connected to a similarly weighted and filled cloth body. Once the head is connected the doll is considered to be ‘reborn’. Belly plates, magnetic newborn belly buttons and other body parts can be added for realism. Reborn dolls are used in movies and advertisements and as clothes models.

Physiotherapists use them for their patients and they are used extensively in old age homes as older people find holding a baby very relaxing and soothing (you only have to see what happens to the general population when someone brings a new baby to visit great grandma in a nursing home- everyone wants to see the baby and touch it- to understand the wonderful value they can have here. Most of them can’t believe they aren’t real. ‘

I personally am not overly maternal, don’t collect dolls (except for my daughter) but when I pop the head on a reborn for the first time- I will always have a chat to its little face- exactly the same way I do to the dog. Just as it’s proven that pets are therapeutic in nursing homes- so are reborns. They generally aren’t considered as suitable for children. I disagree with this by the way!!! There are people who collect reborn dolls because they love babies, dolls or art. Some people are really potty about the dolls and the comraderie that the various forums that like minded people and artists frequent, provide them.

You will not hear anyone on these forums calling them ‘fake babies”. They call them reborns” or just babies and many people have a lot of babies in their collection (also known as nursery). The media try to make out there is something wrong with artists and collectors, but that’s just media hype. The collectors don’t take themselves too seriously and a lot of baby talk is tongue in cheek. What they do object to is being made out as ‘freaks” or that they are actually trying to substitute a desire for a real baby with a reborn (for example because they have an ’empty nest’). They know they are not real and treat them like porcelain doll collectors have done for hundreds of years- that is with respect and admiration for their beauty.

A very few number of reborners will create ‘reborns’ for parents who have lost their babies either at birth or soon after. Some people think that a person wanting a doll that looks like their dead baby is not normal or is ‘sick”. I say to each their own. If I had lost a baby (and I cannot even imagine the inconsolable grief associated with this), knowing now what I know, I think having a lifelike doll to hold would be or incredible physical and mental therapeutic value at the time of the loss and something lovely to have and value after the worse of the grief has passed. After having a baby the physical need to nurse and hold a baby is as basic as the physical need to chew food even if it was all served up as mush. I think that this is an area where we will see more reborns used in future.

There are particular artists who are internationally renowned for their work and these are more desirable to collectors. ‘Prototype’ dolls are popular, usually produced by these artists and command higher prices. When a new kit (or sculpt) is first produced the artist will send the first few kits to the well known artists to reborn. They will then be put the finished dolls on eBay to increase sales and advertise the release of the kit.

Some kits once reborned (provided they are well made and realistic) are very popular and will tend to fetch higher prices. The layette offered is also important and on higher value dolls includes lovely one of a kind handmade creations.

Voodoo Doll – Black Magic & Voodoo, In Jesus Name I Conquer You!

Black magic and voodoo

Just what in actuality

Can you really truly do?

Go ahead and stick in your pin

Play with your cute little doll

I assure you that you’ll not win

No matter the pseudo-spiritual spin

Put your pins in every tiny vile doll

In Christ I have peace and stand tall.

I fear not, neither am I afraid.

For your doll looks nothing like me at all

Besides I have been throughout the world

Haiti, Brazil, and in dark spots in Africa

I’m a spiritual lion connected with my Creator

The devil lacks creativity and is merely a copier

Which he futilely does quite poorly and pitifully

As for me I believe in Christ Jesus and spirituality

Keep your dead religion centered on foul fear

None of it do I care to embrace, neither hear

The power of the risen Christ, this I hold dear

Black magic and voodoo is most entirely queer

I like the prophet Elijah mock it and do jeer

Realizing fully it cannot impart life, nor endear

Neither can it guide, direct your life, or steer

You toward entering the blessed promised land

Voodoo and black magic tends toward poverty

It begins with timidity and lives in obscurity

Dwells with confusion, miserable apprehension

But with Christ there is boldness and certainty

The blessed Holy Spirit mightily does fill me

Fills me to overflowing, His divine power showing

When the Name of Jesus is spoken, demons go running

I rejoice with dancing, shouting, clapping, and laughing

As God Almighty arises and Satanic power’s frail disguises

Are severed, cut, defeated, broken, and fall to the waist side

Jesus my Lord, Christ my redeemer, with arms open wide

A loving smile upon His face and a heartfelt warm embrace

Always overcomes the ugly demonic and all its disgrace.

Magic Spell Casting and Voodoo Dolls

When you hear the term Voodoo doll you probably think of a toy or novelty item. Are there energies manifesting?

Lets explore this subject…

These amazing mystical arts have a strong connection within the world of Magic. Both are linked in the fact they contain special items and specific ceremonies to send out energies to bring forth a set result. Voodoo also uses similar things to create a “doll” of a person that Spell Energies are targeted for. The Voodoo doll, in theory, contains the Magic Energies used within the ritual.

Most of the time, Voo doo Dolls are used in Revenge Spells and Revenge Spell Castings. Revenge Spells or Justice Spell Castings are very difficult for novice Spells Spell casters and are far more dangerous to cast. The use of Voo doo dolls increases this risk. It is advised that you get special training and instructions when experimenting with such endeavors.

Magic Spell Casting requires practice and time. To be effective at casting magic spells you need to have the actual Spell with instructions and follow them to the letter. If the Spell is a beginner spell that is easy to cast, it will most likely be safe but still use caution and common sense when trying to cast magic spells or if you try and make a real Voo doo doll.

Voodoo dates back thousands of years and originate in Africa. Around 2000 years ago, the Voo doo doll was used to bring forth prosperity and good fortune. Farmers hired medicine women and men and their Magic Spell Casting abilities to bring forth a healthy crop. They used a Voodoo doll of the farmer to do this. This was the beginning and the start of something VERY powerful that would grow like a wildfire.

As with any advent, man kind found a way to use Magic Spell Casting and Voo doo dolls for evil and greed. It was quickly found out the Voo doo doll could be used to attract negative energies and very bad luck onto a person with a very simple ritual. This art spread very fast and was quickly outlawed. People found in possession of a Voodoo doll or anything remotely looking like a voodoo doll were put to death in Africa during this time period.

Current Spell Casters still believe that Voo doo dolls from this time period and location still contain a amazing amount of Magic power that does not fade with time. This opinion varies from Spell Caster to Spell Caster. These days, real Voo doo dolls that contain true magic Spell energies are very hard to find. Most VooDoo Dolls you see online are mainly novelty items and are for fun. Rest assured, the art of REAL Magic Spell Casting and Voodoo dolls is quite real and alive today.

The Ultimate Use of Erotic Hypnosis – How to Create a Mind Doll

This article explores how hypnosis is used to create a “mind doll” or “mind toy”. A mind doll is a full sensory, tangible, hallucination of a beautiful man or woman that you can taste, touch, feel and hear. All made possible working from a construct originally introduced to us by Richard Bandler. A fully formed mental construct is inserted into the subconscious mind, allowing the person to experience a living, breathing, talking sexual partner that is more real than “real life itself.” What you are left with is something that is amazing beyond comprehension. You are left with a “Mind doll,” a solid, full sensory tangible hallucination in the form of your favorite sexual partner, a hallucination you can interact with and make yours.

To understand how this process works, you first need to understand that everything we see is through our brain. In fact, every single thing that you experience takes place through your brain. You may believe that you are feeling something with your hand, and you may “believe” that you are hearing something with your ears and tasting with your tongue. The truth of the matter is far different then you imagine. Your sensory organs are sending information in the form of electrical impulses to your brain. Your brain then takes these electrical impulses and translates them into sensory experiences. This results in what you “see, taste, touch, feel, and hear” when you experience the world around you.

Using the power of Hypnosis, one is able to literally tell the brain what new sensory sensations to construct. This is how a “mind doll” is possible. Once you understand the science behind it, it is no longer a thing of magic, but a scientific fact. This is why when people experience their “mind toys” or “mind dolls”; they say their creations look just as real and just as life like as a real person! Well, it looks real because its being constructed by your mind, and everything in “real life” that you see is also constructed by your mind.

People tend to think that things created by our minds are ghost like or hard to see and visualize. However, look at your keyboard, and the words on this screen. See how amazingly clear they are? Feel how the keyboard feels remarkably real on your fingers? Well would you believe your mind is creating these experiences right now? When you look at it that way, its easy to see ones mind is fully capable of creating a full interactive life like man or woman that looks completely real, but only you can see. Now you are beginning to understand the power of the mind doll, and the power of the subconscious mind.

Now imagine having your mind create an incredibly sexy man or women, who looks just as clear and solid as your keyboard. The skin of this sexy person would feel smooth and real. You would be able to feel the breath of this person as they gently spoke into your ear. Your mind would create the soothing sound of their voice just as clearly as your favorite song. This person would looks so real, you wouldn’t be able tell if she was a “real” person or not.

The secret of making this work is by implanting the construct into the persons mind when they are in deep somnambulism. In somnambulism, your brain waves are in deep theta, allowing for full access the brains abilities to generate 3D sensory projections. Remember when you experiment on creating your own mind doll, you must first get the person in deep, deep somnambulism, otherwise the process will be ineffective. In the next article we will be reviewing step-by-step out to create your own mind doll! For more information on mind dolls or mind toys check out http://www.pleasurehypnosis.com

Principles of Interior Doll House Design for Miniature Doll Houses

Although we are not specialized interior designers, we do know there are certain rules one must follow in both life sized and miniature rooms in order to attain pleasing results, these rules relate to the elements of symmetry, balance, scale, color, texture and pattern. Each architectural period throughout history used the fundamentals of interior design in distinctive ways,. For example, Colonial homes were usually small so little attention could by paid to symmetry or balance, but symmetry was often an import design feature of the larger wooden doll houses of Georgian homes and the Victorians that were apt to defy the notion of regularity in their decorations.

Scale is an element of design that is all the more crucial to the crater of miniature rooms because he or she is accustomed to life sized scale and to seeing home furnishing in proper proportion to each other. But the rules of scale and proportion sometimes have to be broken when working with miniature rooms. Scale is vital to a crafter of miniature setting. For in a dollhouse, you cannot afford to miscalculate the size of room, architectural details, furniture and accessories, they must all be in proportion to one another with relationship to the size of the room itself.

We must consider the placement of larger wooden furniture pieces. Fortunately there are only two rules which have endured for several decades. The first is that the dining room table should be placed in the center of the dining room with the sideboard on a long adjacent wall. The dominant piece of furniture is the sofa or couch, to provide seating for several people. A tea table in front of the sofa and a small occasional table next to the sofa are proper. A second large piece of furniture such as a wood rocking chair or should be centered on a large wall adjacent to the sofa wall. A comfortable chair or two and a small desk finish off the living room. In a life sized bedroom the best should be placed on the largest wall if possible. However, if the room is small as in wooden doll houses, don’t divide it with a big bed. Other bedroom furniture is position, a dresser a chair leaving lots of space.

The motifs favored in patterns during the three periods under observation. Colonial designs were few and simple the tulip and sunflower being typical. Georgian motifs showed the interest in ancient Greece, as well as in the Orient and France. The Victorians took their motifs from ancient Egypt from the world they lived in and from religion, and these included fruit flowers and ecclesiastical ornaments.

Finally a word about color in wooden doll houses is regarded by many professional designers to be the most important ingredient in interior design for it is the ingredient that unifies a room or a house and stamps the owners personality on it. Color plays a vital role in authenticating the appearance of a dolls house. Just as there are popular decorating colors today, so too does each period have its own particular theme. The role of texture in interior design is more subtle than that of color, but just as important. Favorite Victorian textures were flocked wallpaper, velvet draperies with lace under curtains, marble and bronze statuary, and closely woven rugs.
