Use Power Tools To Cut Your Chain Maille Jewelry Jump Rings

Making Chain maille is fun, however cutting chain maille jewelry jump rings by hand can be quite frustrating. Many rings will be out of shape and will not close correctly. Fortunately there are now some chain maille cutters in the market that attach to a number of power tools and allow you to cut very precise jump rings.

Two of these cutters are the Jump Ring Standard Cutter and the Koil Kutter. Both cutters come with saw blade and holder, coil holder, and blade guide/guard. The coil holder has four grooves and is designed to hold jump ring coils of different diameters. The jump ringer is all metal construction and is designed to fit a jewelers flex shaft only. It must be equipped with a No.30 hand piece and a motor that will run at 20,000 rpm. A Dremel flex shaft is not powerful enough to operate this system.

I use a Foredom flex shaft which works very well with this cutter. A Dremel or Proxxon hand piece is required to run the Koil Kutter. The blade guide on this cutter is made from poly pipe.

Wire diameters from 30 gauge down to 12 gauge can be cut by these saws. Coils should first be wound on a coil winder which is a drill chuck mounted on a bracket and has a small handle to wind the wire onto the coil mandrel. These can usually be obtained from the cutter suppliers.

Cut All Coils On Wood Dowels. Insert wooden dowels inside the coil to prevent the coil collapsing during cutting. Bamboo skewers from the supermarket work well. You may need to use a few skewers in each coil.

Liberally rub coil with a high quality stick lubricant such as “Cut Lube”, this is most important to prolong blade life. Place coil in coil holder, gently tighten slotted plate and place saw blade in slot, run tool at high speed and quickly move the guide along the coil holder until the cut is finished. Cut coil in one pass only, do not go back.

Turn off power and remove blade from slot, never try to place blade in slot nor remove while the motor is running. Remove coil and slide a piece of wire into the coil and slide the cut rings along the dowel and onto the wire, easier than chasing rings everywhere.

The rings should be neatly cut with very few burrs. For the best results tighten the wire and tumble the rings in a rotary tumbler such as a Lortone. This will not only polish the rings but remove many of the burrs. Tumblers are great for finishing your chain maille jewelry as they will give the completed jewelry item a very high polish. Apart from speed and ease of use, the major advantage of these cutters is the production of quality rings that will all close neatly and retain their shape.

The Best Bras for Low Cut or Backless Dresses

So you’ve got a special event coming up and you want to make a great impression. I think its now time to check out some sexy dresses! That perfect sexy dress is going to be the one that highlights those to-die-for body bits and neatly tucks the others away. It will make you feel a million dollars! But, chances are that this sexy dress won’t be your usual style and you’ll probably need a lingerie update as well.

Low-cut and backless dresses provide the opportunity to show off your sexy side. The lasting impression you want to make does not include bra straps and unsightly bulges for sure. So here are a couple of options which will let you climb into that sexy dress with confidence and to turn all head on your direction.

If you think your perfect sexy dress is backless, the only option is a strapless adhesive bra. If you want to retain a great shape and feel comfortable, you’ll definitely achieve all that with this sexy stylish bra. And if it’s a silk gown or a sweater dress, that same type of bra will minimize unsightly bulges and your only remedy for getting rid of those uncomfortable and conventional bra lines.

Why choose strapless adhesive bra over the other options? This is because this bra provides a natural and comfortable fit because, as the name says, it adheres to your breast. If you experiment with the silicone adhesive bra’s placement, you’ll notice that you will achieve a ‘lift’ or fuller look with this bra. If adhesive bras aren’t something you’ve tried before, check out the Freebra Silicone Adhesive Bra which comes in natural and black and in cup sizes A-D.

If the outfit or the dress that you think will make you shine is a low cut top or plunge dress, check out the V-Bra. This low v-cut design is great for tube tops and drape front sexy dresses. To keep your shape looking great, the cups are padded. If you’re looking for a little extra ‘enhancement’ you can add padding to the built in inner cups.

The V-Bra comes in conventional sizes, 32-36, and B-D cup sizes. And as a bonus you can wear it a number of ways as the conventional bra straps can be adapted to halter and crisscross. The spandex in the V-Bra and the silicone in the silicone adhesive bra mean that these garments are a really comfortable way to look great.

8 Things You Don’t Want to Cut from Bridge Saws

Bridge saws are the essential saws in manufacturing of products made of stone. This large saw can provide accurate cuts in slabs of material such as marble at a faster production rate than manual handsaws. When a company is considering the purchase of a bridge saw, it has several features to check out in order to choose the best bridge saw.

1. Beams and Bridge

Since the saw mechanism moves along the bridge and beams, these parts need to be strong and stable. The pressure created from cutting through heave stone will transfer to the bridge and beams. If the bridge and beams are not strong enough, they will give causing the cut to be off. Although cast iron beams can add up to 2 tons of weight, it is best to have a bridge saw that is more accurate and durable because it is built sturdier.

2. Oil Bath

A life saving feature for a bridge saw will be the oil bath. Stone cutting produces a great deal of dust and moisture that can be detrimental to the rollers and bearings of the machine. An oil bath will provide a self-maintaining lubricated track saving maintenance costs that come with bridge saws that have open, dry channels. This oil bath will also provide smoother tracking to increase the accuracy of cuts.

3. Controls

The modern programmable controls make running the bridge easier for the worker if it is user friendly. Look for a controller that allows manual, semi-automatic, and completely automatic programming. The operation of the controller should be simple enough for anyone to figure out fairly quickly. The best location for the controller is on a hanging pendant so that the operator does not have to walk around to set all the features. This type of controller will make production much more efficient.

4. Water System

When cutting stone, the water system protects the stone from cracking from overheated blades. The best water system for a bridge saw is an automatic valve that lets water out only when needed. This eliminates having to manually turn the water on or off from a distance that lets the water run longer than needed thereby increasing your water usage. Another cost saving feature to consider is a closed water system that recycles the water through the machine and possibly through the dust booth.

5. Tilting Table

For limitless options of angles, a hydraulic table that can be positioned to any angle rather than preset angles is preferable. Not only does it make loading the slab easier, it also allows angles for any required cut.

6. Motor

Depending on the material you will be cutting, you can choose a smaller bridge saw with a 10 to 15 horsepower motor. This is sufficient for up to 3cm thick stone. However, a larger 20 horsepower motor is needed for thick materials such as granite or marble.

7. Blades

Ranging from 24 inches to 48 inches, the size of the blade will also depend on the material you intend to cut. The larger blades do allow faster cuts, but they will have to use the larger motor.

8. Other Accessories

A laser can increase accuracy of cuts by projecting a cut line across the material to help line up the bridge saw blade with the cutting line. A safety shut-off device is a must to help prevent accidental injuries to the operator. The warranty should also at least meet the industry standards, which are one year on mechanical parts and labor and 90 days on the electrical parts.

Consider all of these aspects before investing in a bridge saw. Use colleagues who are familiar with the industry to find references for reputable bridge saw manufacturers to consider.

The Cut Of A Brilliant Diamond

You can ask almost anyone, anywhere what is it that makes a diamond look spectacular and nine times out of ten. They will probably tell you that it is the brilliance of the stone that makes it so beautiful to look at. You may wonder at what it is that causes a stone to exude that breathtaking sparkle. The majority of its appeal is derived from its cut. Even a diamond of poor color can be enhanced if the cut is good.

The cut can detract from visible inclusions that a stone may also have. And with a really good stone, a wonderful cut is like the icing on a perfectly baked cake! Most people when ask, might reply that the cut of a gem is its shape. This is not really true. The stones cut is actually the craftsmanship that is applied to cutting the facets of the diamond. If facets are cut correctly, it will make the best use of light and provides more brilliance.

When a stone is cut to its proper proportions, the light is refracted from one facet to another and then dispersed through the top of the gem stone causing what is known as the Return of Light. With the newest optical technology, this Return of Light can be measured.

When you are going to buy a diamond, its cut may be only one of the four C’s associated with a diamonds quality, but it can be the most important. The brilliance of light from a gem can contribute greatly to its value. If it is cut too deep for example, it can allow light to escape through the other side of the diamond instead of reaching the top and detract from the brilliance.

If the stone has a cut that is too shallow, light can escape from the bottom of the stone before it is reflected. The facet pattern of the stone needs to be perfectly symmetrical, allowing the light to bounce from facet to facet correctly.

If you have a rough diamond that has never been cut, make sure you have it done by a qualified and experienced professional. Diamond cutting is a lapidary art and if you want the best diamond you can get from your stone, you will need the best cut. After all, if it is worth having done, have it done right and it will be a brilliant, shining example of what a diamond should be!

Care of Bonsai Trees – The First Cut is the Hardest

Most beginners hesitate to cut their prized bonsai trees. Admittedly it is not something that should be done in cavalier fashion, but it is essential for the proper maintenance and care of bonsai trees, and requires careful planning.

Pruning is necessary to give your tree its desired shape, then maintain that silhouette. Bonsai masters have, over centuries, devised stringent rules to provide growers with guidelines on the proper shaping and care of bonsai trees. For instance, the first branch should be about one third up the height of the trunk. If the first limb branches to the right, the second should grow from the opposite side with the pattern repeating as branches rise up the tree. They should also reduce in size as they ascend and there should be plenty of space between them.

The best time to prune depends largely on the type of bonsai you have. Some varieties prefer spring when the tree is about to undergo its most vigorous growth. Others prefer autumn when they’re about to lie dormant for a while. You will probably need to do a little research on the maintenance and care of bonsai trees to determine the most suitable time for pruning your particular plant.

Your next step is to determine which branches detract from the appeal of your tree and earmark them for removal. That will mean taking out any that cross over the trunk or each other, as well as any that are growing on the wrong side or are too close to another.

Proper care of bonsai trees means it is usually necessary to prune hardest at the top of your tree where the growth is the most vigorous. If left alone, this top growth will pull nutrients from weaker, lower branches and spoil the look of your tree. Conversely, heavily pruning in one area will encourage growth in a weaker area.

When pruning branches it is best to cut them back to a bud that is pointing in the same direction in which you wish the tree to grow. This means any new growth will branch in that direction. A word of warning though – think carefully before making a cut and don’t get too carried away. You can’t put a branch back once it has been removed.

The best tools to use are secateurs or scissors, but make sure they are sharp enough to give a clean cut. Also ensure they have been cleaned first to minimise the risk of the wound becoming infected. A protective coat of suitable paste should be applied to any large cuts to minimise the risk of pests or diseases getting into the wound. Your pruning instruments should always be sharp and clean as blunt tools will leave a ragged cut more likely to lead to trouble in this regard.

Proper care of bonsai trees also involves pruning the roots. This is generally done every two to three years. Ideally you remove around a third of the root ball, snipping off the larger thicker roots. The mass of finer, hair-like roots left behind will be much more efficient at absorbing water.Very importantly, once you have repotted your bonsai after root pruning, you should give it a good soaking.

Once your tree is the desired shape you may still need to do what’s called maintenance pruning. This is a simple procedure able to be done using a finger and thumb to pinch off unwanted new growth.

As I stated in the beginning, pruning is essential for the proper maintenance and care of bonsai trees, and it can be scary wondering whether you are doing the right thing. However it’s this act which determines the shape of your tree, creating its unique appeal and thus providing the most satisfying aspect of this hobby. You simply need to think carefully, plan your moves and do your homework first.

Women’s Swimwear – Brazilian Cut Bikinis Make Men Walk Into Walls

It doesn’t matter if a woman is short, medium height, or tall; it doesn’t matter if her torso is long and her legs are short; and it also doesn’t matter if the woman’s legs appear longer than the rest of her body, Brazilian cut bikinis are seductive, alluring, and accentuate everything that a woman wants to show off.

In a word, the Brazilian cut bikini is sexy. The coverage of a woman’s breast area is moderate, leaving a lot to the imagination, yet appearing as if those two special parts of her body could slip out with even the slightest movement. The fabric on the woman’s back is sometimes shaped like a triangle, and oftentimes a thin sliver of fabric resembling a thong enfolds the bottom portion of the Brazilian cut bikini.

Since the alluring top and front portions of the bikini covers only what is needed, the elongated lines of the swimsuit expose a woman’s beautiful skin.

You can also find the Rio type Brazilian cut bikinis that incorporate ties at the hips to accentuate the sensuous mid-section, and a V-back style adds a sexy touch as the dental floss sized thong wraps between her legs.

However, since we’re talking about bikinis, it’s important to mention that the Brazilian cut bikini is also a two-piece suit. Sometimes the two pieces are connected, and sometimes they’re not. In either case, a Brazilian bikini is most frequently known as swimwear that is skimpy in fabric, and the bottom section sits very low on the hips.

While the two-piece Brazilian cut bikinis are sexy and make men literally walk into walls as they gawk at the woman coming and going, this is one swimsuit that reveals a woman’s curves and compliments any woman’s body shape. One word of caution, however, is that if you’re more than 50 pounds overweight, you might only want to wear your Brazilian bikini in your own backyard until you can lose a few pounds, since the swimsuit is so utterly revealing.

Keep in mind that when you choose a bikini that has cute little strings that tie at the hips, it most definitely adds a touch of femininity to your presence.

What type of woman would wear a Brazilian cut bikini in public? It takes a woman who has a lot of self-esteem, who is not timid about showing off her body, and who wants secretly to dare others not to look at her.

Are ‘Hearts on Fire’ Diamonds Really the World’s Most Perfectly Cut Diamond?

‘Hearts on Fire’ was founded by Glenn and Susan Rothman in 1996. Glenn had always been an entrepreneur at heart, and when he realized that the diamond industry (namely diamond engagement rings), could also be leveraged into a lucrative business model, he set his sights on learning the diamond trade.

It was in Antwerp, Belgium in 1996 that Glenn and his wife met with renowned Belgian diamond cutter, Van Blerk. At the time Van was working on a new kind of diamond cut for the Japanese market. Eager to show the American’s his new cut creation, Van Blerk set a diamond in a proportion scope and showed the Rothman’s the now infamous eight arrows and hearts. It was at this moment that an idea was born within Glenn and they soon set about patenting the Hearts on Fire cut. In fact, the ultimate secret to Hearts on Fire’s success can be whittled down to one key thing: Brand Awareness.

Rothman was an entrepreneur at heart and leveraged his early business knowledge to his advantage. He knew that if he wanted to get anywhere within the diamond industry, he needed to offer something different to the average diamond consumer. Acting on the fact that most people are timid and a little insecure when it comes to buying diamonds, he offered each of his Hearts on Fire diamonds with a laser inscribed brand name and serial number on each diamond’s girdle. Additionally, each stone would be accompanied by a certificate from the American Gem Society (AGS) certifying the highest cut grade. In this way, all Hearts on Fire diamonds come with the coveted ideal zero cut grade, further ensuring security and confidence in the average diamond buyer’s mind.

Rothman’s business sense paid off. Since 1997 the Hearts on Fire brand continues to grow and innovate itself. Consumer’s are so convinced that Hearts on Fire is the absolute best diamond that they are willing to pay as much as $12,000 or more per carat! But the question remains…are Hearts on Fire the world’s most perfectly cut diamonds? Do they make the most beautiful engagement rings?

Hearts on Fire diamonds are indeed very beautiful diamonds. However, so is William Goldberg’s Ashoka diamond, Tiffany’s Lucida diamond, and Lazare Kaplan’s famous Lazare diamond. All of these diamonds are beautiful and all of these diamond’s are obscenely overpriced.

But, thankfully times are changing and other diamond vendors have recognized the growing importance of quality in diamond purchases. Many are jumping on the Brand bandwagon too. For example, James Allen’s True Hearts diamonds are priced far more economically than Hearts on Fire or Tiffany’s Lucida.

However, anyway you look at it, the truth of the matter is that all of these diamonds are ideally cut and show the hearts and arrows visual effect when viewed with a proportion scope. The only difference is that each vender is now touting their own diamond cut as their own BRAND.
