No Fake Cheesecake

The earliest known recorded recipe (around 160 BC) was for a type of cake to be consumed during religious celebrations in Greece, which contained goat cheese and in no way resembles our modern day version. Fast forward to 1390 when an English cookbook caused an early chef named Heston Blumenthal insist that cheesecake is an English invention, which it very well could be; but whichever country takes credit, no one like Americans has elevated it to its current art form. When cream cheese was first developed in 1872, a New Yorker was looking for a way to recreate the soft, delicious cheese called Neufchâtel which he had eaten in England and France, and he came up with a method of making an “unripened cheese” that was heavier and creamier.Along with other dairymen, William Chester began mass-producing it under the name Philadelphia Cream Cheese and it marked the beginning of present day versions.

Basically, cheesecake comes in two different types: baked and unbaked, and both have their merits:

++New York-style cheesecake relies upon heavy or sour cream, is rich and has a dense, smooth consistency most likely to be featured at Jewish delicatessens and high-end restaurants;

++Chicago-style is a baked version which is firm on the outside with a softer texture on the inside; the crust used is most commonly made from shortbread or graham crackers, crushed and mixed with sugar and butter; frozen cheesecakes tend to be called Chicago-style (can you say Sara Lee?);

The foodie city of Chicago actually is home to the country’s two largest cheesecake makers, Sara Lee and Eli’s:

++Sara Lee cream cheese cake put this dessert on the map with their Original Cream Cheesecake. In 1949 a bakery owner named Charles Lubin pioneered the frozen-foods business when he invented a top-quality cream-cheese cake for sale in supermarkets and restaurants. He named the cheesecake after his daughter, Sara Lee. Lubin’s product was such a success that only two years later, in 1951, he opened the Kitchens of Sara Lee and began to add other items to his bakery line. In the early 1950s the aluminum foil pan was introduced which allowed his products to be baked, quickly frozen, and sold in the same container;

++Eli’s Cheesecake (1980) is also based in Chicago. Eli’s Original Plain Cheesecake, which has been called “Chicago’s most famous dessert” is made of cream cheese, sour cream, eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a butter shortbread cookie crust; originally served exclusively at Ei’s restaurant on the North Side; its popularity eventually resulted in Eli Shulman to begin producing and selling the cake nationally and it continues to gain more market share annually. Eli’s has made cheesecakes for four American presidential inaugurations. In both 1993 and 1997, it made a 2,000 pounder for Bill Clinton’s inauguration ceremonies as well as numerous celebrities’ birthdays and special events, and is a popular dessert of Oprah (no surprise there); making its debut at the first Taste of Chicago in 1980, it has held a starring role at every one since.

Cheesecake Factory restaurants – opened in the LA area (1978) and now boasting over 200 locations nationwide; not known for their low calorie cuisine, they offer 35 different flavors of cheesecake, one more decadent than the other and are a living testimonial to the popularity of this dessert.

Hundreds of countries have their own unique versions with varying ingredients and presentations, but America remains the king of the mountain and shows no signs of stopping its love affair. If eaten in moderation, they can be enjoyed all year; if eaten in great quantities, well, you may just keep your cardiologist in the latest model Mercedes. But grab a fork, a good cup of coffee and dig in. You only live once.

How to Find the Best Limo Services

Whatever the occasion, whether you need collecting from the airport, dropping off at a stylish party, or you’re off to tie the knot, you can’t beat an impressive arrival.

If you live, you’ll know that the elements can be unpredictable, particularly throughout the winter months. You’ll also know how difficult it can be to hail a cab when you need one the most. If you’re heading to an important event, you won’t want to risk your outfit being ruined, or having to spend the night in wet clothing.

Alternatively, if you’re just visiting, you may want to consider hiring a limo to get you from A to B, particularly if you’re going to be in during the city’s colder months.

What better way to arrive at your business meeting, or make your way to an important client dinner, than in one of the most stylish vehicles around? Plus, you’ll be warm and dry in a comfortable, well-heated environment. Some limo services even offer refreshments.

Using a limo service will also mean you’re free to make calls, send e-mails or even apply your make up if you’re in a rush! You won’t have to worry about driving in a new city, particularly if you’re travelling from Europe(you’ll surely have enough to do without worrying about adapting to driving on the other side of the road).

An experienced driver will take care of that for you. For a simple and convenient airport collection, you’ll only need to notify most limo services a couple of days in advance. Some may even be able to provide cars at the last minute, but it’s often best to book early to avoid disappointment.

There are many limo services out there that you can hire for your entire trip, but you’ll want to do some research to find the ones with the best rates. Most limo providers will offer a full meet and greet service, where your driver will meet you in the baggage claim area.

This is particularly helpful if you have a lot of luggage, as the driver will be on hand to help you will your bags and take you smoothly to your next location. Make sure you make your flight by booking an airport drop off service for your departure, too.

If you’re getting married in, it is be more important than ever that you arrive at your ceremony in style and comfort. You’ll want to start your new life together in the best possible way, with memories you’ll cherish forever, and photographs to match. There are a vast amount of limo services available to couples getting wed, including wedding packages to suit any budget.

Some limo providers even offer party buses as an optional extra, providing your guests with their own transportation. This comes in particularly useful if the weather is not as favourable as you’d hoped.

Perhaps it’s your youngster in need of a limousine? Most limo services will offer a prom night package. It’s best to look for a limo provider with plenty of driving experience, as you’ll no doubt want to ensure that your child is in good hands and will be collected and dropped home promptly.

Whatever the event, make sure you find a limo service that’s right for you. You can access information about the various services available, by looking online, or inside a directory. If you have any queries, most limo providers will have friendly staff on hand to help, so look for a contact number on the site.

Healthy Aging – Centenarians and Seniors Can Live Healthy, Active, Fulfilling Lives – And So Can You

Studies of centenarians and super centenarians have taught us more than we had known before about the process of aging and what keeps us alive. Four Blue Zones, regions in the world with the oldest inhabitants, have been identified. These four areas are: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Loma Linda, California., and The Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica.

o Panchita Castillo, who recently turned 100, lives in Hojancha, Costa Rica, a place with one of the healthiest, and oldest populations on the planet. Researchers attribute this longevity to qualities of life in the village. The following are some of the factors that seem to keep these villagers alive.

– They have a strong sense of purpose

– They drink hard water with high calcium content

– They focus on their family

– They eat a light dinner

– They have social networks

– they keep working hard

– they have regular “smart” sun exposure

– They have strong spiritual connections keep them stress-free

–

o Richard Savage, 100, of Chicago, Speedy Iavarone, 100, of Wood Dale, Ill., Marcia Hawkins, 100, of Chicago, and Lucia Klas, 102, of Morton Grove, Ill., were recently treated at the ESPN Zone in Chicago to a free lunch to share their enthusiasm for the Chicago Cubs, despite 100 years of the team’s failure. These centenarians have an avid interest in sports, a passion that continues on.

Aging in America

The good news is that Americans are living longer, experiencing fewer fatalities from heart disease and stroke and improved recovery from cancer and other illnesses. The portion of the U.S. population over 65 has increased from 9.5% in 1967, to 12.4 % in 2005, to an estimated 20 % by 2030, approximately 70 million. In 2011, 76 million American baby boomers will turn 65.

Active Seniors Ages 60 – 99

Here are only a few of the many seniors who are living active, healthy lives from their 60’s to their 90’s and beyond.

o Nola Ochs, earned her Bachelor’s Degree, at age 95, from Kansas’ Fort Hays State University

o Michael DeBakey, M.D., 97, internationally recognized heart surgeon from Texas and Denham Harman, M.D., 89, father of the free radical theory of aging, are still working and lecturing. Dr. Harman suggests taking vitamins and anti-oxidants to slow free-radical production, specifically vitamins C and E and coenzyme Q-10 and betacarotene.

o Harry Bernstein, at age 96, became a first time published author of The Invisible Wall, memoirs of growing up Jewish in the mill town of Stockport, England, during the time of WW I.

o Irena Sendler, “a Polish social worker who helped save some 2,500 Jewish children from the Nazis by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto and giving them false identities…” died at the age of 98 on 5/12/08.

o Dorian Paster, M.D., age 86, is happily married for 48 years and director of his surfing camp for over 35 years. “This doctor spends an hour and a quarter doing deep breathing squats, flexibility exercises, and some work with a ten-pound barbell, every morning and he prays and converses with the deceased.

o Wifold Bialokur, at age 71, runs 6.2 miles in less than 44 minutes, smoothly and with control.

o Sheila Johnson, age 60, a retired high school algebra teacher who is third ranked women’s player in the USTA 60’s division, joined the undergraduate college tennis team at Grand Canyon University.

The bad news is that the vast majority of seniors have at least one chronic [physical] condition, and 50% have at least two chronic conditions that limit their basic activities.

Almost 20% of older Americans also have mental disorders. Many primary care physicians think that psychiatric symptoms are just ‘normal aging’ or chronic physical illness. Almost 90 percent of depressed older patients in primary care get no treatment or inadequate treatment. Only a very small percent receive treatment for mental disorders from a mental health specialist as they age.

The National Comorbidity Study found that by age 75, the lifetime risk of having any diagnosed psychiatric disorder is greater than 50%. This study revealed that mental illness begins in the early twenties followed by a gradual increase in additional conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, impulse-control disorders, and substance abuse. Psychology Today reported similar findings in its own study, Therapy in America.

The answer to these health problems is being presented to us every day by authorities and experts in wellness, nutrition, diet and exercise, counseling, therapy, spirituality. It is up to each and every one of us to find our own way to health. Information and help is available if we seek it out. The next step is to follow the prescriptions and advice that we are given to improve and maintain our own health and emotional well being.

In a 2005 National Geographic article, “The Secrets of Long Life,” author Dan Buettner identified three “Blue Zones,” regions of the world with the greatest longevity of its inhabitants. At that time he had identified three such areas, Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; and Loma Linda, California. Recently he added a fourth Blue Zone, the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, where he met and interviewed Panchita Castillo and her 80 year old son, Tommy.

Wingfoot Air Express – The First Airship Disaster

On Monday 21st July 1919 the Wingfoot Air Express (owned by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company) crashed into the Illinois Trust and Savings Building in Chicago, with the loss of 13 lives. This was the worst Airship disaster in the USA until the Zeppelin Airship, Hindenburg crashed in 1937. Of the 13 who died, one was a crew member, two were passengers whilst the remaining 10 were bank employees in the building below.

The Wingfoot Air Express was carrying passengers from Grant Park to the White City Amusement Park when, at an altitude of about 1200ft, the craft caught fire above the Chicago Loop. Once the crew realised that the Airship was lost, the Pilot and the Chief Mechanic parachuted to safety along with a third person who broke both legs and later died in hospital.

The Illinois Trust & Savings Bank building on the corner of LaSalle Street and Jackson Boulevard, housed 150 employees who were closing up after the days business (the fire being reported to have started at 4:55pm) in the main banking hall. The main hall was illuminated by a large skylight and the remains of the Wingfoot Air Express struck the banks skylight directly causing flaming debris to fall through to the hall below. As well as the ten employees who were killed, 27 members of staff were also reported injured.

After the crash, Chicago City Council imposed a ban on hydrogen filled dirigibles from flying over populated parts of the city. The Airships home base, Grant Park Airstrip, was also closed shortly after the crash.

Published in honor of those who lost their lives while at their work in the bank, in a catastrophe that left all officers and employes grief striken.

THE GREAT TRAGEDY

Out of the clear sky came a mass of flaming wreckage which crashed through the big skylight of this bank, bringing death and injury into the Illinois Trust family. A big dirigible sailing over the loop caught fire a thousand feet in the air and came rushing like a flaming comet, down to earth. The finger of fate had selected the skylight of this building among the hundreds of flat roofs surrounding, on which the dirigible was to strike.

This great tragedy resulted in the death of ten of the bank’s people and the injury of twenty-seven others, leaving a never to be forgotten shadow over the entire institution. Employes and officers were busy closing up the day’s business on July 21st. It had been a big day. Monday almost invariably brings more business than other days of the week. Many of the employes already were on their way home. Those still at work were putting the final touches on the day’s work and would have departed for home very shortly.

Suddenly, as if the whole roof was caving in, there came a big crash and down through the skylight descended the huge, fiery blimp with its twisted iron and heavy mechanism, past the balcony and down to the first floor upon the heads of employes who were working underneath the large skylight.

Charter To Pride

It all started with a walk to protest the Stonewall Riots of 1970. Today it is one of the largest Pride festivals in the country, if not the world. What is it? It’s Chicago Pride Festival and it takes place each year on the last weekend of June. While there are events throughout the year, the Festival is a two day affair that ends with a massive parade through the Halsted Strip. You may think you’ve seen a big parade before, but when the attendance is measured in the hundreds of thousands you may just have to rethink. There are so many people who attend this parade that the course has had to be altered several times throughout its history just to accommodate everyone properly. That’s some parade!

Sure, other towns and cities have Pride events, but if you want to get to the largest one and be part of the action but don’t live near Chicago what will you do? Well, you can fly commercial and sit through the long waits at the airport, go through the tough security screening and then be stuck on an overcrowded jet. Or you can choose to make the weekend sparkle from beginning to end and charter a jet.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “that’ll be too expensive!” but you may be surprised at how reasonable chartering a jet can be. And think of the perks. You can leave when you want, not when the airline says. You know your luggage will arrive with you since you never leave it with airline strangers and best of all you have a comfortable flight, along with plenty of arm, shoulder, head and leg room. You can even configure the cabin however you wish, putting the chairs into rows or into conversational groups.

Food and of course on board lavatories are the norm and there is also plenty in the way of in flight entertainment too. You will have your own pilot and may be able to land at a smaller airport closer to your destination than you would with commercial flights.

So if you’re headed to Pride in Chicago and want to take in the music, the exhibits, the food, the drinks, the parade and the Pride fun, what are you waiting for? Look into chartering that jet as soon as possible! By the way, there is no attendance fee for Pride Chicago but the atmosphere is priceless!

Go To A Cubs Game

Go To A Cubs Game!

Something I highly recommend is going to a Chicago Cubs Game. Whether or not you’re a Cubs fan, a baseball fan, or even a sports fan – a Cubs game is an awesome time. The atmosphere at Wrigley Field is unmatched. Fun for any age – It’s weird to think about. Each game full of a mix of a variety of people, all coming together to root for one team. The stands always packed with kids on field trips, season ticket holders, clubs, charity events, pub crawl groups, the list goes on.

I’ve been going to Cubs games my entire life. At a young age (way way wayyyy back when the Cubs weren’t the most talented team on the block), tickets to a game were cheap as rocks. For a total of $15, you could hop on the Addison Bus, buy a ticket to the game, buy a hot dog, and still have enough money to hop on the bus back home. Here’s a little tip – get to the game early enough for batting practice. A ton of the players love to throw out extra balls and will literally sign anything. Except for Carlos Marmol. That guy, is not a very nice guy.

Oh, another tip: bleacher seats are my favorite seats at Wrigley. If you’re in for the best experience possible, get bleacher seats. The fans who sit out there are unlike anyone I’ve ever met.

I’m incredibly disappointed I have yet to go to a game this year. But that is all about to change – I just bought tickets to the August 4th game against the Diamondbacks! First pitch is thrown at about 1:20pm so just in case you’re reading this, feel free to meet me down there! I’ve got bleacher seats…

A few things I recommend doing if you decide to hit the friendly confines:

Walk down the strip and witness the millions of bars. Go mingle with fellow Cubs fans!

Definitely go to Sluggers Bar down the street and use the batting cages. They are iconic – this is a great place to watch a game as well.

Go to a concert at Wrigley – They’re known for hosting country artists and classic bands. Luke Bryan was the most recent artist to perform there!

Don’t forget to take a picture in front of the famous Wrigley sign. Get that insta game up – major heat check for ya. Almost guaranteed 250+ likes, I promise.

The Wrigleyville Area is open to families and kids as well:

Bring chalk to the game! Sign the famous Wrigley Wall and imprint your name in history!

During the off-season, the Cubs offer a movie in the park gig too. Bring all! They play classic movies. One of the most popular is the movie The Rookie Of The Year which was partially filmed at Wrigley Field!

Sign up to take a tour of the ins and outs of the stadium! You can sign up online, here Wrigley Tour

Grab a bite to eat! The restaurants around there are TO DIE FOR. You can’t go wrong with Dimo’s Pizza. The food there is delicious – 8.8/10. (One-Bite Rating)

Here’s a little tip to you newbies and bandwagons out there. There are certain requirements that one must get when going to a game. Make sure to get a bag of peanuts. A hot dog with everything on it, of course. Maybe an ice cold beer. Make sure to strictly wear Cubs gear. There’s nothing I hate more than when someone comes to the stadium wearing a Steelers hat and a Bulls jersey. C’mon man. Don’t be that guy – don’t cross sports. Support the hometown and the home team. Stop bringing your glove to games after age 10 (unless you’re with your kid, then it’s fair). Catch the ball with your hands! THAT’S WHY YOU WERE GIVEN THEM! Check out this prime example:

Another piece of advice – if you’re really in the mood, buy some merch, support the clubhouse. Rock that jersey loud and proud. And try your hand at buying a raffle ticket… You’d be surprised. I’m not a gambling man, at all. But there’s something about those tickets… Magical. Would recommend.

The culture in this stadium is unmatched anywhere else. The atmosphere is un-describable. This place is considered a landmark — not many other clubhouses around the MLB can say that. It will forever hold a place in my heart. I’ve been going my whole life (way before the Cubs recent success) Although they have modernized the stadium a little, there are still some hints of the old-school / traditional home field that we all know and love. I know that games are a lot harder to go to because of how expensive they’ve gotten. But I try to go to at least one game per summer (minimum). It’s a necessity in Chicago culture.

lso – Please don’t cry like this guy at our stadium. Relax buddy. Just think about 2016. I promise it’ll put a smile on your face.

So, bring your friends, your kids, your wife. Screw it, go by yourself if you want. The Cubs game is a treat and should always be treated as one. Enjoy.

Getting Local SEO For Your Business

While local SEO is cheaper compared to huge SEO campaigns and targets a very small part of the population, the fact is that this can sometimes be exactly what you need. If, for instance, you run a small business based in Chicago, receiving traffic from around the country would be futile and would not get you a lot of potential customers. By getting local SEO providers, however, you can make sure that your website is reaching out only to people based in Chicago and you are getting traffic that can actually be useful.

Local SEO has several benefiting factors apart from reaching your target audience.

New businesses – For one, it is a great way for new business owners to kick-start their sales. Instead of marketing your business on a very large scale and immediately competing with businesses that have been in the market for years and years, you can go for one step at a time. Find an online marketing agent who aims at reaching out to people in a certain area. If, for example, you just started a local store in Chicago, you can create a website for people residing in and around Chicago. Once you have several customers from within the city, you can then start expanding your business and your SEO.

Highly competitive niches – Regardless of how good your product or service is, the fact is that there are way too many competitors out there. There are several niches, like weight loss, where it is very difficult to make yourself be noticed, let alone make your way to the top. In such cases, local SEO can help you establish yourself. Instead of simply using keywords like ‘weight loss’, you can add a local area into your keyword. This will significantly lower down the number of your competitors and will help you reach people looking for a service provider near them.

Effective communication with customers – This is one of the areas of local SEO that are better than those of global SEO. While large companies cannot connect with their customers that effectively, local SEO will allow you to stay in direct touch with customers that are near you. You SEO professional will also make sure that you are accessible through things like Google Maps for your area. Your company will also be a part of local business directories, provided that you make these aims clear to your marketing agent.

Police Brutality in the United States

We are living in world of fear and uncertainty. The advent of the 9/11 attack in the United States has created this fear and uncertainty. It has led to tougher laws, legislation and law enforcement to ensure that the life of every citizen in our land is not put on the line.

Today, we can see law enforcers ubiquitously. We see police chiefs roaming around and checking all corners of our cities to ensure that our feeling of fear and uncertainty is allayed. In this scenario they play their role as vanguard of the people.

There are times, however, that this is not the case. Due to their exaggerated duty to ensure security as an aftermath of 9/11, police officers tend to do everything to eliminate all crime plaguing the country and the whole world as a whole. The other face of the coin in this new attitude of the police however is police brutality. We often see cases of police brutality on television nowadays. Statistics show that it has risen in recent years.

According to the Department of Justice, cases where police, prison guards and other law enforcers have used excessive force to violate victim’s civil rights have seen an increase over the last seven years. In Chicago alone there were more than 10,000 complaints filed against police officers between 2002 and 2004. However of the said cases of complaints, only 18 led to meaningful disciplinary actions. Further In Milwaukee last year, Frank Jude and Lovell Harris were brutally beaten by three police officers who were not convicted. This led to public outrage in the city.

Going back to Chicago, police brutality initiated by police officers has really become an issue of concern. According to the University of Chicago report entitled “The Chicago Police Department’s Broken System”, police officers in Chicago received more police brutality complaints per police officer than the national average. It is not surprising that the Amnesty International used the high incidence rate of police brutality in Chicago to discredit it as a possible host of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Police brutality is only one form of police misconduct. This is serious issue confronting not only Chicago but other cities in the United States. Although it is quite hard to convict police officers for police brutality, getting a good and experience civil rights lawyer might be a key to a successful conviction or disciplinary action for the culprits.

His-Story, Her-Story And A Tribute – Black History Month

During Black History month everyone will remember the long line of history left to celebrate, and look toward the future of history being written with the Kings and queens, leaders, orators, champions and heralds of a great nation of people. Amongst these great people are those who may or may not get a full appreciation of the effect they have made on history and I want to dedicate this article to a cheerleader for children, poetry and motivation in the person of LaKisha Marie Tanksley.

I feel blessed and deeply moved to have met LaKisha in Chicago while working to close the digital divide through educating people to the uses of technology. The cliché of – this being a small world has never rung true in the fact of being able to meet and work with LaKisha while in Chicago, a humongous city of hard working people with a unique vision. Chicago has given us a some history makers in it’s own right Mayor Harold Washington, Author Richard Wright, Explorer Jean-Baptist-Point Du Sable the founder of Chicago, Talk Show host Oprah Winfrey and many more. After working with Lakisha for a too short while I knew in my heart that she was in the right place at the right time. Since her passing in the summer of 2005 I also know that she will be missed by thousands and hopefully millions that her work was able to touch.

Lakisha had a vision of motivating those around her in the same path as Oprah Winfrey and Gwendolyn Brooks. Her poetry touched and inspired those who read the living words she brought to light not only from herself but from children she worked tirelessly to inspire and reminded me of Cleopatra VII, Queen of Kenet an incredible linguist in her own lifetime.

In searching for wisdom her thirst for was just as royally steadfast as Makeda, Queen of Sheba. LaKisha would tell me about her quests to find ways to inspire others through poetry and motivation for all those who thought life was dark and hopeless.

Poetry was a beacon of light for LaKisha like Behanzin often referred to as the King Shark, a surname which symbolized strength strength and wisdom. LaKisha used words in her poetry to give strength and wisdom to her readers. She fed her poetry to anyone who would listen. Thankfully words were not something that just lay on a page, words were for inspiration, action, consolation, and comfort to LaKisha as anyone who came around her would immediately find out. If you stood still for a few minutes around LaKisha, your going to hear some poetic or motivational words – definite proof of her having the King Shark as an ancestor with his massive contribution to his time and ours.

During the summer of 2005 we lost another member of our motivational cheerleaders, especially one who would have proven to become an icon of motivation. I close with an excerpt from her collection of poems – Bridges of Hope, a fitting title for a book from a fantastic cheerleader of hope – Mrs. LaKisha Tanksley-Simpson, Poet and Motivational Speaker, Chicago, IL

I leave everyone with a small excerpt from one of her books – Bridge of Hope: an anthology of motivational poems and stories, with the 2nd book titled – There is an Oasis : a collection of motivational poems.

From the book ‘Bridge of Hope’, a poem titled ‘I Am Destined for Greatness’

I am destined for greatness.

I am determined to succeed.

I have what it takes to get what I need.

Because success is the core of my existence;

The manifestation will appear with time.

Determination is what my dreams are made of… When I seek I will find.

Lost Honda Prelude Keys

All models of Honda Prelude 1997 to 2001 models were launched with Immobilizer system and losing the key would be a nightmare. If you own a Honda Prelude, you know that as per the consumers’ feedback and reviews, the fast paced Honda Prelude from 1997 to 2001 came with one defect- the ignition switch interlock did not function properly. This caused the key to be in ‘off’ position and you could remove it but without shifting the transmission to the ‘park’ feature. Apart from this aspect, Prelude is a beautiful car to drive.

Most car companies have incorporated the Immobilizer function into nearly all vehicles as a theft deterrent mode. But on the contrary, if you are in Chicago and lose Honda Prelude car keys, getting a replacement is not just getting a key cut at the local key maker, it is big time expensive.

Immobilizer keys are coded and replacements are only done by some of the best Chicago locksmiths that have state of art Immobilizer key making machines and latest know how. The only other option is taking your car back to the Honda dealership and getting it replaced by the company after paying $800- $1000. In most cases, a good Chicago locksmith will be able to help you if you lose Honda Prelude key.

Affordable and experienced Chicago locksmiths that have state-of-art machines with coding and precision cutting for reflashing and cutting spare keys also provide other services like laser keys, electronic keys, and new transponder keys apart from lost car keys replacement facility. They have the capability to program transponder keys, immobilizer keys and high security keys.

Understanding Immobilizer System

The Immobilizer system protects your car from being stolen. It works on the feature that only the proper coded unique ignition key that is used in the ignition switch will be allow the engine to start, thus safeguarding your car. Any other car key used will just disable the circuit. All Immobilizer keys come with a chip or a transmitter in the head and the code is matched when you put in the ignition key with the engine switch. The Immobilizer key also indicates the control unit for activating the ignition system so if you have lost Honda Prelude car keys, you would need the services of an expert Chicago locksmith. They have the infrastructure to reflash a new Immobilizer system and cut you corresponding keys.

As one of the leading Chicago locksmiths suggests, just in case, you have the car key which is not working, and need to just get a spare cut, you will not need the red key. But if you have lost all Honda Prelude car keys, then you will need to have your Immobilizer system reflashed and the red key will be required. In Honda Prelude cars, it is best to use approved Immobilizer blank keys. You also need to protect your Immobilizer keys from heat, humidity and liquids.

If you have lost Honda Prelude keys, do not try to attempt and alter the system on your own as electrical circuits may be damaged or other electrical issues may render your car in operable. As Honda Prelude owner, you must have received the key number plate along with your car keys. This key number is essential when you need to get a spare or a lost key replaced. If you intend buying a Honda Prelude 1997 to 2001 model, ask the present owner and keep the number plate safely. So, if you have lost Honda Prelude keys, don’t fret. With express services provided by expert Chicago locksmith, getting a spare transponder key is no hassle and the service costs you much less than going the company for spares.
