The Servant Borrower: What the Bible Says About Financial Bondage and Debt

Financial bondage is something many of us struggle with, but what are God’s answers to financial burdens? Being on shaky financial ground can be one of the most frustrating, disheartening and overwhelming places to be. You may constantly be consumed with trying to maneuver the resources you have.

Examples of financial bondage can include:

  • Overdue bills. You might be suffering from late fees or phone calls from bill collectors, causing additional financial stress.
  • Get Rich Schemes. Do you constantly run after the next “Get Rich Quick” trend? Do you mail in sweepstakes forms or buy lottery tickets? If you do, most likely you’re in financial trouble and looking for a quick fix.
  • Unmet family needs. Does your family struggle to make ends meet? Are the family’s breadwinners unable to provide what they would like to provide for the family?
  • Pride. Is something holding you back from facing your financial struggles, or from telling others about them?
  • Seeking additional employment. In a family, if both the husband and wife work and are still unable to make monthly bills and payments, it can be a sign of financial bondage.
  • Self indulgence. People in financial bondage may find themselves without self-control when it comes to their finances, and they seek to satisfy every want and desire without discretion. This can lead them to be even more deep in financial trouble.
  • Worrying. People in financial distress may find themselves unable to surrender their financial burdens to God.
  • Greed. Are you continually in a state of wanting, without a need for it?

If you feel the affects of any of these symptoms, you are probably in financial bondage. However, there are steps you can take to master your money. You can keep a spending log in order to better determine how to “stay within the lanes” of your income, how to budget and where you can cut back on unnecessary spending. However, financial “tips” can only bring you so far – in the end, you’ll have to face the root of your financial problems.

If you ask the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth to shine light on your finances, God will! Pray this with me: “Father, bring me into your light, show me where I can save money and sow me the things I am doing to cause waste in my finances.”

Remember that the Spirit of the Lord is here with you to deliver you from your financial bondage. One of the most common forms of financial bondage is credit card debt. Credit cards, in and of themselves, are not harmful – but if they are used irresponsibly they can wreak havoc on your chances for financial freedom. If you find yourself in debt, remember this scripture:

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. – Proverbs 22:7

God does not want the borrower serving the lender. The best way to avoid this is not to give in to the temptation. If you are already in debt, then establish a debt reduction plan. Start snowballing, or systematically applying money that you now have from a bill that is paid off to the balance of a current bill, each time you pay a balance in full. Then, commit to no longer spending money in ways that don’t please God. Finally, seek help and pray for God to put someone in your life who can help you recover.

Herbal Remedy For Anxiety

Herbal remedies for anxiety are becoming more popular alternatives to prescribed medications. They are just as powerful as benzodiazepines (Valium and Xanax), but safer and don’t form the dependence.

* Valerian is one of the most widely used and effective herbal remedies for anxiety. It reduces anxiety, induces sleep and promotes relaxation of the major muscle groups (legs, arms, and chest) while working as a sedative and painkiller. Research had shown that valerian calms central nervous system faster than most prescription anxiety medications. It also has other advantages comparing with prescription drugs.

For example, it doesn’t reduce concentration, doesn’t interfere with physical performance as car driving or working and doesn’t lead to addiction. Used as a sleeping aid it helps to decrease panic attacks at night and doesn’t cause “morning hangovers”.

Valerian is used by many doctors to reduce mild to moderate anxiety, help coping with every day stress as well as to alleviate patient’s transition process from prescribed anxiety medication like Xanax.

Valerian if taken in regular doses doesn’t have any side effects, but in large amounts may lead to headaches, restlessness and stomach distress. It is not advised to combine valerian with other prescribed or over-the counter tranquilizers, anti-depressants and painkillers. However, it doesn’t lead to any serious consequences if combined with alcohol. Pregnant or lactating women and children under 2 years old should not use valerian without doctor’s permission.

* Kava is another herbal remedy for anxiety that is used for similar purposes as valerian. It reduces anxiety and depression, promotes sleep and lifts the spirit. Kava’s great benefit comparing with other powerful tranquilizers is its safety, gentle effect of the body and the fact that it improves memory, alertness and helps to fight fatigue.

* Ashwagandha (also known as Indian ginseng) has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries as the primary strengthening tonic. If taken regularly, it helps to improve mental condition of most anxiety sufferers in only a couple of months.

* Passion flower is a natural herbal remedy used for reducing nervous tension and hyperactivity, lowering high blood pressure and fighting such anxiety symptoms as insomnia, restlessness and diarrhea.

* Lemon balm was first mentioned around 10-th century AD by the Persian herbalist for its calming qualities. Nowadays it is used as a mild relaxant for restoring nervous system, reducing high blood pressure and soothing digestive system.

* Lavender is an excellent herbal remedy for anxiety. It helps to overcome such unpleasant anxiety symptoms as restlessness loss of appetite, loss of sleep and abdominal distress.

* Motherwort is known as a “heart herb”. It increases the blood circulation to the brain and is very useful for treating anxiety associated with palpitations. It also helps to alleviate depression and insomnia.

* Skullcap is considered one of the best natural treatments for chronic anxiety and panic attacks. It relieves stress and muscle tension, nourishes nervous system and promotes sleep.

* Chamomile, hops and peppermint are commonly found in teas and tablets as the gentle sedatives. They are used to promote relaxation, soothe an upset stomach, reduce anxiety and encourage sleep.

Other herbal remedies for anxiety are St. John’s wort, California poppy, Catnip, Feverfew, Verbena, Bugleweed, Ginseng, Ginkgo biloba and Borage juice.

There are many combinations of those natural herbs available on the market today that may insure a long-lasting anxiety and depression relief. The most important is to find the right combination and dosage for you. Always consult with herbalist professionals before taking any natural remedies as incorrect dosage or mixture of ingredients can make anxiety worse.

Safety Features of Small Trimarans

In the opinion of many sailors, small trimarans are safer than other types of small sailboats. Their unique design allows them to be safe in both how they sail, as well as the trimaran design itself.

First, it’s a fact that small trimarans (and all trimarans in general) do not carry around a lead ballast in order to balance the boat. This means that this particular weight doesn’t reside in the bottom of any hull. Should any of the boat’s three hulls ever become damaged, they won’t have that ballast weight drag the entire craft underwater… where it would begin serving as a new home for a variety of fish species.

As a matter of fact, most small trimarans contain a number of air-tight compartments within each of their 3 hulls. In addition to providing valuable storage space for trimarans, the amas and main hull frequently have air-sealed pockets tucked away in certain portions. They’d work to “support” the boat, and keep it from being totally swamped, even if the main hull was damaged badly.

Trimaran safety is also offered by its wide beam. Their outriggers produce a more stable ride than most other types of sailboats. The boats don’t typically don’t “heel over” when sailing. But this also means there is less chance the boat is going to capsize or pitch pole. But if a trimaran ever does overturn, it’s safety features are usually demonstrated even further.

How so?

There are pictures of trimarans scattered here and there on the Internet that show them floating upside down, while their sailors sit on the overturned vessels, waiting to be rescued. After seeing these kinds of pictures, how many people ask why they don’t see similar kinds of photos that feature monohulls? The reason is simple. There are a lot fewer pics of monohulls in distress situations because they usually sink. There are no picture taking opportunities for boats that disappear from the water’s surface.

Small trimarans are also lighter than monohulls of similar length. They’re easier to tack and jibe. This allows them to be much faster sailboats. This higher performance means if a storm comes up while sailing offshore, then a small trimaran will be able to get into shore, while other boats are still fighting big waves further out.

I recently read about a trimaran that had been sailing offshore, and hit an unknown object in the water. The main hull filled up with water to a point, but the boat stayed stable and drifted until the Coast Guard was able to come and rescue the distressed boat and its sailors.

If that boat had been a monohull, it almost surely would have filled with water and sunk… and rather quickly at that. The crew might not have even been able to call for help by sending off the distress signal. And even if they had, they probably would have had to use a life raft, or life vests, until help arrived.

Given that scenario, wouldn’t you rather be in a trimaran? I would… every time.

Hoarding Vs Clutter Phobia – Which One Is Really OCD?

Why is the media so fixated on OCD being about hoarding, when hoarding is the opposite of everything that OCD stands for? People with OCD tend to be organized, neat freaks and clean. Hoarders on the other hand are disorganized, messy and a general health and safety hazard. They could not be further from the definition of obsessive compulsive disorder if they tried.

Do hoarders even have the obsessions and compulsions that are so integral to OCD, or is their hoarding mindless? Most hoarders will tell you that they don’t even know how their hoarding got so out of hand. Is that the meticulous attitude of someone with OCD? I don’t think so! It’s a mystery how hoarding ever got labeled as OCD. Less than 1% of the population hoards, and 2.5% of the population has OCD. According to the Mayo Clinic, many people who hoard don’t have other OCD-related symptoms. Furthermore, according to Dr Staab of the Mayo Clinic, “recent functional brain imaging studies suggest a different pattern of brain activity in patients with hoarding versus other OCD symptoms. All of these data support the separation of hoarding from OCD.”

Isn’t it time we debunk the hoarding myth and instead give recognition to hoarding’s opposite, Obsessive Compulsive Spartanism, a real and distressing version of OCD that deserves to be recognized?. Obsessive compulsive spartans, really do obsess about their space and their stuff, organizing, counting, arranging, rearranging and purging, constantly feeling cluttered even though they live in minimalistic, Spartan conditions. Obsessive compulsive spartans are so strict about what comes into and what remains in their home, that it causes major distress and/or disruption to daily living.

Sadly though, The American Psychiatric Association does not officially recognize obsessive compulsive spartanism as a psychiatric disorder. Even more frustrating is that, in the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) IV, hoarding has been categorized as a symptom of OCD. Thankfully, though, it looks like hoarding will be classified as a separate illness in the DSM V edition, due to be published in 2013.

It is very important to note that obsessive compulsive spartanism has NOTHING to do with contamination OCD (cleaning, hand washing etc). And that just like cleaning and checking, obsessive compulsive spartanism can stand alone and cause plenty of distress as is.

I would suggest that obsessive compulsive spartanism manifests itself as follows:

1) Need to have minimum things in your home.

2) Need to have specific numbers of everything that you do have in your home.

3) Everything must fit into a category, or you cannot have it at all

4) Everything has a very specific place.

The OCD part is the constant editing: Is this the right shelf for my books, why do I have 6 pairs of shoes, maybe I should have five? A screwdriver doesn’t fit into any of my acceptable categories, so I won’t have one even if it means constantly bothering the neighbor to borrow theirs. I know I’m about to miss my flight but I can’t leave the house until I am happy that my kitchen cabinet doesn’t look cluttered.

Because this brand of OCD never appears in any of the textbooks, and is never spoken about, it is likely there are many sufferers out there struggling in silence and wishing they had any other more famous OCD symptoms instead, just so they wouldn’t feel so weird and alone. Some unfortunate souls probably have no idea they have OCD at all, and that treatment is available, just as it is to other OCD patients.

Hoarders have recognition of their suffering, obsessive compulsive spartans do not. Perhaps it is far less interesting or scandalous than hoarding, but it is torture, as only an OCD sufferer can know.

Think about it. There’s:

Contamination OCD

Checking

Ordering

Counting

Hoarding!!!

Scrupulosity (religious OCD)

HOCD

Sexual OCD

Pure O

Skin picking

Everyone’s pain is recognized, except for the obsessive compulsive spartans! If you are a clutter phobe, this should make you furious, and keen to raise awareness about this type of torment.

Time to come out of some very neat closets…

Wood Floor Repair – Why It Pays to Get the Professionals In

Beautiful solid wood flooring can look wonderful, creating a real sense of style and individuality and a modern, contemporary feel within any home. There are many different types of real wood flooring, each with a look that is entirely its own. Aged or distressed flooring, the distinctive lines of parquet flooring, there’s engineered wood flooring and strip floors as well as mosaic panels and end grain wood block floors.

Aged & distressed flooring

Aged wood flooring or distressed flooring presents a stylish, lived in look. It looks, for all the world, as if your flooring has been laid for years and adds a certain authenticity to your home. Aged and distressed flooring is also a very practical choice for both homes and commercial properties because it keeps looking good for longer. The rugged, worn, lived in appearance will not show the scratches and marks caused by everyday usage. They are also a popular choice because they never require sanding unlike other types of wood floors.

Parquet flooring

Parquet wooden floors are a very popular choice and one of the reasons for this is that a parquet floor can be laid in so many different ways, with so many different patterns. The patterns available are Herringbone, Double Herringbone, Single Basket Weave, Treble Basket Weave and Chevron. You can also opt for parquet panels, parquet borders, parquet motifs and parquet floor medallions.

Engineered wood flooring

Engineered floors can be installed which either floating on underlay, are secretly nailed to existing wood sub floors or fully glued to the concrete or timber sub floor. Engineered floors are very good if you need to reduce the noise level in a room and they work well with under floor heating systems. Engineered wood floors are available in a wide range of sizes from 14mm 3 strip floors to 20mm structural engineered wide planks. Strip Floors

There is wide choice of solid tongue and grooved strip flooring available which his available in European Oak, French Oak, American Black Walnut, Wenge, Distressed Oak, Reclaimed Pine and Merbau. Strip wood floors, like engineered wood flooring, can be secret nailed to timber sub floors or glued to concrete sub floors but unlike engineered wood floors, they are not recommended for use with under floor heating systems. Strip floors are very easy to maintain and can be sanded many times to refresh their look making them great value for money.

Mosaic Panels Mosaic Panels, also known as finger parquet, is an old style of flooring used a lot in the 1960’s and is available in European Oak, Mahogany, Teak and Merbau. If fitting mosaic panels to a wood or concrete base, an epoxy glue should be used but if the panels have a felt backing then a spirit based adhesive should be used. End grain wood block floors

End grain wood block flooring is available in a number of wood species including European Larch, European Oak, European Smoked Oak, Pine and Spruce. The wood is cut across the growth rings to produce a very different look to that achieved using the more usual strip flooring. It is extremely hard wearing and so is ideal for areas that experience a lot of foot traffic.

Wood floor repairs

From time to time your wooden floor will need repairing, either to remove scratches or stains or even to correct a floor that was badly laid in the first place. Scratches can be sanded away using fine to medium sand paper but it is recommended that any stained floorboards be replaced because, depending how deeply the stain has entered the wood, you may have to sand quite hard to get the stain out and this could mean that section of flooring will not look the same as the rest.

If you are fortunate enough to inherit an original wood floor or are looking to restore a floor you covered years ago with carpet, you may need to carry out some repairs. This may involve replacing sections of the old wood floor with new wood. Should you need to do this, it is advisable to source wood that, as closely as possible, matches the original wood, in colour and type.

Once the repairs have been carried out, the floor should be machine sanded to a fine finish and any gaps filled. With this done you can set about staining the floor to your chosen colour. Sometimes, stains in your flooring will only become apparent after the floor is machine sanded or even after applying the new chosen finish. If this happens, you may choose to replace that section or leave it because it adds character to your floor.

Original parquet floors were glued and pinned using copper headed pins. Over the years, these eroded leaving staining around each fixing. Unfortunately these stains cannot be removed, but it must be said, they form part of the floors character. When installing new parquet flooring, stainless steel headless pins are used to prevent this problem from occurring in the future.

Why it is important to hire a professional?

With the ever increasing number of DIY shows on television, a lot of people are attempting to restore their own wood floors only to find it’s not as easy as it looks on telly. Professional wooden floor restoration companies will have invested in the right machinery for the job and also in the right training.

Having no experience and using machines which are not forgiving can cause extreme damage to your wood floor and can reduce its life by as much as 50% so it is important to employ a company whose employees are fully trained and qualified in wood floor restoration. This will ensure that the smallest amount of wood is removed during the sanding process and will therefore extend the life of your floor.

Hiring a professional to do the job will leave you with the perfect finish and may even end up saving you money, after all it would be a lot more expensive to attempt the job yourself, hire the machines, buy the sand paper and finishing materials, only to then have to hire in the professionals to redo the job afterward because you are unhappy with the finish.

What should a person look for when choosing a flooring supplier?

When looking for a company to supply and fit your flooring, you should look for a company that can prove the quality of their work. Ask to see examples of their work or at least pictures of it and ask them to produce genuine testimonials.

Ask to see proof of their qualifications. Properly qualified UK flooring contractors will have passed City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in floor coverings and should have passed there health & safety test and hold a valid CSCS card for commercial works.

Check out the equipment they plan to use and ask what measures they put in place to minimise dust, the last thing you want is to be cleaning the house for weeks after they’ve gone.

Confirm that they offer a free no-obligation survey and quotation.

Excessive Farting – What Causes Excessive Farting and How to Stop It!

Did you know that there is very common root cause for excessive farting that you likely don’t know about? Today I’ll explain what causes chronic farting is and what you can do to stop it for good. First though I’ll discuss 2 things you need to do right now to immediately reduce your flatulence while you work on the main problem.

2 Quick Solutions to Chronic Gas

#1 Eliminate Allergenic Foods: You may not realize it but dairy, wheat, corn and soy are the 4 most common allergenic foods which can also cause quite a bit of gas in the body. Dairy and what especially cause a great deal of digestive distress and if you don’t start reducing and eliminating them from your diet now the health complications they can create will only increase.

#2 Avoid Drinks with Meals: When you drink a lot of liquid of any kinds be it water, juice or beer, you are diluting the stomach acid necessary to break down the food you eat. You may not be eating the very best food but at the very least if you’re not breaking it down in your stomach you’re in for some serious problems! Over the course of 2 hours starting 30 minutes before you eat drink not more than 1-2 cups worth of water and do not gulp only sip.

The #1 Root Cause of Excessive Farting

It’s known as a candida or yeast overgrowth of the bowels. Over 90% of the population have this yeast inside of their body, a lesser percentage have symptoms because of it. The #1 problem this yeast causes in the body is digestive problems especially those of the intestine ie. Gas, bloating and farting! What causes candida to become a problem? Simple, a poor diet over a period of time, a diet high in sugar. Anti-biotics & prescription or OTC medication use. Immune system dysfunction which can create candida by simply having an extended period of severe allergy reactions.

Candida is something not to be messed around with as it has now been shown that cancer in fact develops under the same circumstances in the body as candida does and over 95% of people who died from cancer were later found to have a significant candida overgrowth in their body as well.

For now though we’re just focusing on excessive farting which candida causes through it’s fermentation, destruction of friendly bowel flora and enzyme inhibition as well as causing liver dysfunction and general inflammation in the digestive tract. Candida is definitely the #1 health issue that people don’t know about and need to get on top of!

Work Towards Peace and Emotional Balance With Bach Flower Remedies

Bach flower remedies were devised by Edward Bach, a Harley Street doctor, in the 1930s. He believed that physical illness was rooted in conflict within an individual, which indicated imbalance in some area of their life. Dr Bach observed that people with physical and emotional problems recovered faster if they acknowledged the relationship between their emotions and physical health.

One of the most popular remedies is ‘Five Flower’, Dr Bach’s only combination formula, which is used as a single remedy. This is used for times of emotional distress, including:

– Recovery from illness and trauma.

– Preparation for healing or therapy.

– For times of emergency, to diminish suffering.

– To relieve anxiety, for example before visiting the dentist or traveling.

– To quieten animals.

The Five Flower remedy is a combination of Cherry Plum, Rock Rose, Clematis, Impatiens and Star of Bethlehem, which can be taken by itself or in combination with other remedies.

Each flower has its own characteristics which contribute to the effectiveness of the Five Flower remedy.

Cherry Plum:

The cherry plum grows to the size of a small tree, with pure white flowers which have a pink tinge. This flower helps in times of anxiety and with fears about loss of control over a situation. Cherry plum helps to bring peace and stillness within, to counteract the tension felt during stressful times.

Rock Rose:

This yellow flower grows on downland and is used to treat reactions of great fear and terror. Rock Rose helps to restore stability and peace, and brings light to the darkness of panic-filled situations.

Clematis:

The clematis flower will help to treat those who are dreamy, drowsy and not fully awake to the world and present circumstances. With white flowers growing on a spreading vine, the clematis will bring consciousness back into one’s body and the present.

Impatiens:

These mauve flowers grow along streams and in shady areas. The flower treats those who find it difficult to be patient and hope to carry out their work quickly. Impatiens will help to balance those who are restless and irritable.

Star of Bethlehem:

This is used when someone is in great distress, for example after hearing serious news, losing a loved one or after an accident. The white six-pointed star helps to bring spiritual equilibrium and acceptance to those who are deeply disturbed by circumstances.

These flower essences form the most popular and well known combination remedy, ‘Five Flower’, prepared according to Dr Bach’s original instructions for ‘rescue’ combination. The remedies are created by steeping flowers in a bowl of water in direct sunlight or boiling them prepare a ‘mother tincture’. This is the concentrated essence of the flower, which is further diluted 1:400 parts 40% organic French brandy to make the traditional Bach flower stock concentrate. This is used to make a combination with other remedies in a dispensing bottle or dropped into a glass of water for immediate consumption.

Working with the Bach flower remedies presents a challenge: Dr Bach’s flowers hold a mirror to our emotional and psychological state. They help us to understand how we respond to change. We can find a way to work with problems and difficulties. Individuals and their emotional condition are central to the experience and process of healing.

How to Compose the Letter That Can Save Your Relationship

Writing a love letter to an ex in hopes of getting him back is something that won’t come easy to anyone. After all, what should the letter be like? How should it be written?

There are a number of ways you can write a letter. In general though, there are guidelines that can be followed so that the letter will be received more positively by the aggrieved party.

First, it’s not recommended that you write a letter just after a break-up. Letters written at the height of emotional distress should be crumpled and thrown away, or even burned. You can be sure that the contents of the letter will do nothing to improve the already broken relationship.

A letter written when you are angry and distressed will surely sound angry and probably even sound desperate. If getting an ex back is the goal then this will only serve to drive him away. Before writing a letter, it is best to compose yourself first.

The next guideline is timing. When should the letter be sent? Definitely not right after the break up. If you feel as hurt as you do, then probably your ex feels the same way.

If the letter is received while the ex is still emotionally bothered then he might not really be receptive to the contents of the letter no matter how well written. So it’s better to wait. Timing is a key element towards a reconciliation.

Finally, be careful of making promises. If the reason you broke up was because of something you did, then making any promises at this point will only remind him why you two broke up. Instead, agree with his decision and be honest. Ask for his forgiveness and then ask him if you two can try to make things work out.

Breaking-up is usually going to be hurtful and messy and there is no guarantee of two lovers getting back together. Still, if you’re sure that you still love your ex, then it is worth trying to save your relationship by writing a letter. Just make sure to follow the above guidelines.

Effective and Safe Herbal Remedies for Phobia

Phobia is a kind of anxiety disorder and a deep irrational fear which causes panic on coming in contact with the source of the fear. This persistent fear of a situation or object can last over six months. The affected person tries his level best to avoid the object or situation to a greater extent than the actual danger. If the person is unable to avoid the situation or object, he suffers from considerable distress. A person can develop phobias to innumerable situations or objects.

Causes of Phobia

Environmental and genetic factors result in phobias. Children who are prone to anxiety disorders are at a greater risk of developing these phobias. Extreme heights, confined spaces, exposure to insect or animal bites or a distressing event like near drowning could be a source of such phobias. Even those people with chronic medical conditions such as substance abuse, depression or brain injuries are prone to developing these phobias.

Symptoms of Phobia

Phobias could be irrational but those suffering from the problem don’t fail the reality testing. Various symptoms are exhibited by patients suffering from different kinds of phobias. For example, schizophrenics suffer from auditory, visual, paranoia, delusions and other disorganized symptoms.

Rustic Chic Vs Industrial Decor Style

In interior design and home décor, there are many styles that one can choose from. There are the “pure” styles and then the mix-n-match styles. Two of the more common styles are the rustic chic look and the industrial look. Many people think these looks are one in the same. I’m here to explain why they aren’t the same style. First, a couple of questions.

What do you think of when I say rustic chic? Do you think of a farmhouse, wooden cabin feel with wood tables and exposed beams? Or do you think of quilts, repossessed distressed wood with chicken wire and galvanized metal? Both of these descriptions are correct when talking about rustic chic.

Now, what do you think of when I say industrial design style? Do you think of hardwoods, pipes and other metals? Maybe dark, neutral colors, old typewriters, and wood burning stoves? If so they have the right idea of industrial design.

Both the rustic chic design and the industrial design have common elements but they have their distinct difference too. Let us look at each one individually and then maybe we can really see the difference.

Rustic Chic

The rustic chic design is lighter, more feminine, and focuses on natural wood colors or light stains. Like light colored paints and distressed woods. Décor items would include mismatched hardware, chicken wire, galvanized (rusted) metal, exposed wood beams, and wood specific furniture. The easiest way for me to remember rustic chic is to think of a perfect little farm house on a prairie with its simple colors and used items.

Industrial

The industrial design is darker and more masculine. It has dark neutral colors and dark woods. It incorporates a lot of polished or brushed metals. Common features include exposed ducts, pipes, and basically anything we usually try to hide when building a house. Décor items include old metal items, hardwood shelves, and things that remind you of the hard working industrial era of America. An easy way to remember this design would be to think of a warehouse or commercial kitchen made into a house or apartment.

These two design styles have many things in common like their uses of woods of metal but the colors and finishes of those woods and metals are different. It is very common today to find people who mix and match between these two styles to create a rustic industrial style house. They complement each other very well and make for a cozy, yet practical home. You can find many great pictures of rustic industrial houses on the internet for more detail on how they work together.

Whether you decide to style your house one way or the other or mix them together for an even broader spectrum of opportunities just make sure your house speaks who you are. Your home is a place where you can be you! Let it be a perfect window into your soul and show off your rustic or industrial home with style. Have fun decorating your home with your newfound knowledge.
