How to Compose the Letter That Can Save Your Relationship

Writing a love letter to an ex in hopes of getting him back is something that won’t come easy to anyone. After all, what should the letter be like? How should it be written?

There are a number of ways you can write a letter. In general though, there are guidelines that can be followed so that the letter will be received more positively by the aggrieved party.

First, it’s not recommended that you write a letter just after a break-up. Letters written at the height of emotional distress should be crumpled and thrown away, or even burned. You can be sure that the contents of the letter will do nothing to improve the already broken relationship.

A letter written when you are angry and distressed will surely sound angry and probably even sound desperate. If getting an ex back is the goal then this will only serve to drive him away. Before writing a letter, it is best to compose yourself first.

The next guideline is timing. When should the letter be sent? Definitely not right after the break up. If you feel as hurt as you do, then probably your ex feels the same way.

If the letter is received while the ex is still emotionally bothered then he might not really be receptive to the contents of the letter no matter how well written. So it’s better to wait. Timing is a key element towards a reconciliation.

Finally, be careful of making promises. If the reason you broke up was because of something you did, then making any promises at this point will only remind him why you two broke up. Instead, agree with his decision and be honest. Ask for his forgiveness and then ask him if you two can try to make things work out.

Breaking-up is usually going to be hurtful and messy and there is no guarantee of two lovers getting back together. Still, if you’re sure that you still love your ex, then it is worth trying to save your relationship by writing a letter. Just make sure to follow the above guidelines.
