Rolling Daily Double Horse Racing Betting Strategy

The simplest parlay bet other than a two horse parlay is the rolling daily double. In many instances, the daily double pays better than a two race parlay because there is only one takeout rather than two. If you bet the first race, even when you win, the vig is taken from your winnings. Now you bet the second race and once again, even if you win, you’ve paid the vig again.

Since you bet money that you wagered in the first race along with the winnings from the first race, you’ve actually paid the vig twice. I don’t know how you feel about it, but I only like to pay for something once and then I want it to be mine. The easiest way to do that when betting multiple races is with an exotic such as the double or a pick three, to name just a few.

So other than the financial considerations, what strategy can we apply to the double to make it pay even better? While there are no guarantees in life, you can usually depend upon a lot of the doubles bettors to use the morning line to find their live horses. If you handicap the races and find that a horse is seriously underestimated in the morning line, you may have found a golden opportunity.

Of course, all of this depends upon your own ability to spot a live horse and then to determine what that horse should go off at. The best way to find horses that may be good double bets is to start by making your own morning line for every race that has a double. After you’ve assigned odds, write them beside the morning line odds beside each horse’s name in the program.

Obviously, this is a good way to find overlays in other pools as well, but because of the nature of the double, because bettors are forced to choose horses before they see how the crowd bets, it is a good way to benefit from glitches in the morning line. A reasonably good handicapper can often find value in this way. Though you may not know how a horse will be bet in the double, looking at the morning line will give you a good idea.

You’ve probably seen this situation before. A horse is only a mild choice in the morning line and the double prices reflect only tepid interest, but when the race becomes live on the tote board, someone has dumped some serious money on the horse and it is one of the favorites. You realize that something is up with the horse and some inside money, or smart money has found its way into the pool. It is too late to play it as the second leg of the double, obviously, but if you have already played it, then you’re in a sweet spot indeed.

Recent Information on Daily Disposable Lenses

Did you know that fitting practices are changing as contact lens materials and manufacturing methods change? Actually, this has been happening since 1971 but at a faster pace since the advent of the first disposable contact lenses launched by Johnson & Johnson back in 1990. Since then manufacturers have been improving lens materials to make them more comfortable for all-day wear, more resistant to surface deposits, significantly more oxygen transmissible, easier and more stable to mould at high volumes, and cost efficient for both the manufacturer and wearer.

Eye doctors have always been concerned with wearer compliance. Are there any clinical signs of frequent prolonged wear? Will the wearer keep their lens case clean? Will they rinse their lenses before storing them in fresh multipurpose solution so that surface debris may be washed off prior to storage? Will the wearer replace their lenses for a fresh pair at the interval recommended by the eye doctor? All of these are relevant questions that contact lens fitters will ask anywhere in the world. Daily disposable lenses resolve many of these issues, most especially when speaking of younger lens wearers. In fact, recent third party market data shared by Alcon®, a leader in contact lens manufacturing, supports the fact that eye doctors are recommending daily disposables more.

Since 2008 the daily disposable lens growth in the market by dollar was almost five times as fast as all other lens modalities (types of fits). Monthly disposables experienced modest growth in comparison but two week disposables declined during the same period. This data speaks to the fact that eye doctors appear to have accepted the tremendous compliance benefits that daily disposables deliver to wearers. It also speaks to the growing number of younger wearers coming into the market and how daily disposable lenses help them maintain excellent eye health by eliminating some of the handling and storage factors previously considered problematic for them. Monthly disposable lenses continue to enjoy a strong presence in the market. New lens materials have continued to support this lens modality with very oxygen transmissible materials that are extremely comfortable and easy to maintain.

Only your eye doctor can select the right contact lens and modality for you. Ask him/her about recent products and how they may be good for you. Contact Lenses are considered medical devices for which a prescription is required. Please refer to your eye care provider for more information.

Your Daily Numerology Mood Organizer

Every day offers you a new vibration for your work or play.

If you follow your biorhythms, you have a sense of how your

energy is flowing for a particular day.

Numerology offers you an alternate means for knowing your

mood for a particular day.

If you know your Soul Desire Number you can play this game.

This energy expression comes from your deepest inner self.

It filters through your emotional feelings as it moves, or

attempts to move into expression.

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS

Combine your Soul Desire number with the current calendar

number.

If today is December 1, 2005, the energy pattern for the day

is calculated thusly: 12/01/2005 = 3+1+7 = 11 = 2.

So this is a #2 day.

Combine that number with your Soul Desire number, and you

have your daily numerology mood number.

HOW TO FIND YOUR SOUL DESIRE NUMBER?

Each letter in the name you currently go by has a

corresponding number. You Soul Desire numbers come

from the vowels in your name. Add all the vowel numbers in

you name. Reduce that to a single digit.

A J S = 1

B K T = 2

C L U = 3

D M V = 4

E N W = 5

F O X = 6

G P Y = 7

H Q Z = 8

I R = 9

My Soul Desire number is #3:

Vitae Bergman >i,a,e,e,a >9,1,5,5,1>21>3

SOUL DESIRE NUMBER AND DAILY NUMBER:

Now I combine my #3 with a particular day.

I’ll use December 31, 2005.

To arrive at the daily number, I add all the numbers of the

date in question: 12/31/2005 and reduce the sum to a single

digit.

Thus: 12+31+2005>2048>14>5

December 31, 2005, then is a #5 day

So, adding my Soul Desire Number, #3 with the date number,

#5 yields the #8 energy expression, which has to do with

aspects of leadership. This is my mood number.

THIS TELLS ME:

This is my day to take charge of my life situation and

myself. This is not a day for me to sit back and let things

slide any way they choose. On this day, I can feel confident

that my energies are up to the task of organizing myself and

even influencing others, whether that be at work or at home

in the public arena. My persuasive powers are high. And since

my Soul Desire number is #3, which pertains to creative

expression, I can let myself use this inner desire quite

effectively on such a propitious day.

WHAT IS TODAY LIKE FOR YOU?

If this is a #1 day for you, your best bet is to focus on

yourself and what is important in your life. This is not a

day in which you can be highly available for others and

their needs. No use in trying. Your mood is going inward.

It wants to nourish that Soul Desire quality of yours. Do

something for yourself that serves to fulfill your Soul’s

Desire, or just simply spend some time in contemplation –

feel what inspirations come to you regarding your Soul’s

Desire.

If this is a #2 day for you, your mood for the day leans

towards cultivating harmonious space – within and well as

without. If there is strife in your environment, then you

are eager to promote peace. Your need today is to have

balance in your life and among those for whom you care.

Even strangers will benefit from this mood of yours.

This is not a day you are willing to try on new things. If

you are a student you are better off reviewing old material

rather than learning new material. Same goes for your work.

Consolidate old projects; leave new projects for tomorrow.

If this is a #3 day for you, then your creative juices are

flowing. Now you are ready to tackle anything new. Listen to

your inner promptings for inspiration about those creative

projects that have bubbled up into your recent nightly

dreams. This is a time to let that energy flow out into

expression. If you are engaged in business, this is the day

to finalize negotiations. Your flexible mind is at its best.

In any interaction with others you will do well. This is a

good time to initiate agreements.

If this is a #4 day for you, your energy wants to go into

stabilizing, consolidating, solidifying your world, your

situation, your inner landscape. Not a day for emotional

upheaval, rather a time for calm assessments. Your energy

works best working on your foundations. Those around you

will tend to look for support, you seem so strong and

capable. And you are. You are the rock today.

If this is a #5 day for you, you are eager to be fully

active in your work or play. Your energy is high. It’s your

action day. All that calm assessment of the day before has

set the stage for this very active day. Your mood is “Let’s

get things done!” The world will wonder at your boundless

energy. This is a day when you can see your soul’s desire

getting full expression. Even if you are no fully aware of

what that hidden desire actually might be, it seems to come

out effortlessly. A good day to pay attention to what and

how you are expressing, offering you clues about this desire

issue. If you have had a numerology chart made for you, you

would have your finger on the pulse.

If this is a #6 day for you, your mood leans toward

compassionate expressions. You notice a higher degree of

sensitivity toward others and their moods. Your inner heart

feels a sweet tenderness during this day. You may be given

to reminiscing of times when love and romance were the

center of your life. You will be open to expressing good

feeling to others more readily. If you are typically

competitive, your willingness to let the other fellow win or

have his way is more in evidence. Everything about you has

softened today. Kindliness is your mood.

If this is a #7 day for you, your inclination leans toward

scholarly activities. Your thinking mind is in high gear.

This is a good day to learn new things, to develop new

schemes in your work. Your intellect wants to soar.

Curiosity and optimism is the hallmark of your energy today.

If you are spiritually inclined, your metaphysical studies

today will bear remarkable fruit. You mind is open to new

insights.

If this is a #8 day for you, your energy levels are such

that you can lead yourself into new areas of discovery. This

is your day to lead a brainstorming session with your

colleagues. You can see clearly what needs to be done in

your world and you have the power of suggestion working for

you as you encourage your team to move forward. All this

leadership energy, of course, is in the service of your

heart’s desire.

AND FINALLY

If this is a #9 day for you, all your effort of the past

eight days are paying off. You’ve used your energy wisely,

following your daily moods instead of attempting to do and

be in ways out of sync with the flow of your essence.

Consequently, you feel the glow of the #9 energy coming

forth form deep within. A benevolent feeling for your fellow

man pours forth. This is the kind of day when you are most

appreciative of your life and your accomplishments and you

are full of gratitude for the life force Source has provided

with unconditional love.

Daily Requirements for Coping With the Death of a Loved One

“Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation”

Lao Tzu

Whenever I speak in public about grief I often begin with an old Chinese proverb, one of my favorites: “You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow from flying over your heads, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair.” There is much wisdom in these words. Grief engulfs us all and yet we can learn to adapt to the massive changes it brings.

Adapting to the physical absence of our loved one depends primarily on what we choose to say to ourselves and ultimately what we consistently do. There are numerous responses that have proved useful in adapting to a great loss depending on many individual factors. Here are five that have proved their worth in many ways over the years.

1. Self-expression. Regardless of what some well-meaning people have written, letting out what lies within on a regular basis is healthy, both physically and emotionally. This means finding those you trust and sharing what’s happening on the inside on any given day. Refuse to be a prisoner of your thoughts and the distress that often goes with them. Self-expression also includes talking with your Higher Power as so many do or even with the loved one in spirit. Bottom line: Release the normal buildup of emotions which affect every cell in your body. Write, draw, or paint to further allow what is within to be released.

2. Balance sadness with timeouts. Possibly the most frequent misunderstanding about the grief process is that one should be continuously focused on their sadness. Since your body listens carefully to every thought you generate, constant focus on the stress of sadness without a timeout, guarantees eventual immune system deficiency. Consequently, the result will be health decline. Colds, the flu, headaches, stomach problems, etc. are common when grieving. There is nothing wrong with taking a break and finding a way to relax. Do what gives you a temporary release from sadness so your body can recharge. For at least 20 minutes a day, vow to seek a peaceful and reflective frame of mind.

3. Love. Without giving and receiving love each day you are increasing unnecessary suffering and losing the most powerful coping response for adapting to loss. Loving even as you grieve will forever strengthen your inner life. It all begins with loving yourself. You are a unique person made in the image of God. Respect yourself and all you come in contact with is essential in loving well. All of us need to be loved, both griever and caregiver. Become aware of how you can develop new ways to show acceptance and appreciation to others.

Furthermore, focus on how you might express love to the person who is no longer physically present with you. The American playwright Thornton Wilder wrote, “There is a land of the living and a land of the dead, and the bridge is love… the only survival, the only meaning.” Learn all you can about how to love in separation as you establish a new relationship with your deceased loved one. Also, be sure to show love to those who are helping you in your difficult journey. Ask yourself, “What do they need?”

4. Self-respect. You are the most important resource you have in reaching the goal of adapting to your great loss. Take care of your physical needs as well as emotional ones. All too frequently, mourners tend to increase consumption of caffeine, alcohol, and junk foods which have a direct effect on brain function. The need to protect your physical self, especially brain maintenance, will reduce physical pain and provide energy to adapt to all the new circumstances to be faced. Be sure to drink enough spring water daily to prevent unrecognized chronic dehydration. Start the day by drinking 8 ounces. A handful sized amount of protein at all three meals will slowly raise blood sugar levels and energy. An omega-3 supplement will help how you feel physically. Make every effort to abstain from sugar and high fructose corn syrup which negatively affect the brain.

5. Involvement. Interacting with trusted others on a daily basis will generate much needed hope for the future. Mourners often isolate themselves and in doing so prolong intense suffering. The feeling of connectedness is a powerful coping force. Loving in separation, prayer, and being with caring people assures connectedness and movement toward inner peace. Decide what organizations or groups you can join as well as new interests you can generate to widen your spectrum of connections. Then here is the key: schedule connections every day as you learn to adapt to the physical absence of your loved one.

Grief is seductive and can cause us to turn away from a path toward coping with change. Never forget, start each day with determination that you will make it through the next 24 hours. Create an affirmation to use to silently strengthen your inner life. Then live the day like your loved one would encourage you to.

10 Tips to Writing Effective Positive Daily Affirmations

Positive daily affirmations can help you to reprogram your mind from the negative self talk that you have had for years. For this to work effectively, you need to repeat positive statements of a desirable outcome like a mantra on a daily basis a few times per day.

Positive daily affirmations help to redirect your values, formulate goals for success or simply help you to boost your self confidence. They can be used to improve areas such as wealth, success, health, relationships or self esteem.

Here are 10 tips to writing effective Positive Daily Affirmations

1. Develop Them Yourself. Self-developed affirmations are the most effective positive daily affirmations. If you couple them with clearly defined written goals and applied faith, their power is even stronger.

2. Feel Them. The emotional dimension of each affirmation should never be overlooked. When you can additionally “feel” your affirmation, its total impact increases tremendously. For instance, if your affirmation is “I am a successful public speaker”, then visualize how it will be like to be receiving a standing ovation from a hall full of people.

3. Make Them In the Present Tense. You should state your positive daily affirmations in the present tense, that is, use “I am…” rather than “I will be…” Saying things in the present tense will program your subconscious mind to believe that what you affirm is already a fact. In other words, you have no doubt in your mind that what you desire is a given and not just a wish that may or may not happen.

4. Make Affirmations Positive. Another important tip in formulating your affirmations is to write them in the positive state. A negative statement cannot work. For instance, you should say “I am rich” rather than “I am not poor”.

5. Make Positive Daily Affirmations Short And Clear. First, because your experience will create the conditions that allow affirmations to manifest, word the affirmations carefully to make them crystal-clear. State your real, innermost desires and articulate your most expansive sense of self. Affirmations based on a narrow self-concept deliver results that fall short, cause suffering, and further diminish the sense of self.

7. Increase Your Faith. Of course, the more faith you have in them, the more effective your affirmations will be. The desires and dreams that your mind can conceive bear seeds of possibility, and possibilities ultimately become realities.

8. Say Positive Daily Affirmations With Conviction. Some experts recommend saying positive daily affirmations silently. They say that silent affirmations are more effective than spoken statements, because they entail more intensity of concentration and resonate through your entire body instead of in your surroundings. Others recommend saying them out loud, because you can also use your facial expression or hand gestures for more conviction. For whatever it is, positive daily affirmations made in a half hearted manner are not going to be as effective as the ones that you make with deliberate intention.

9. Follow Up With Actions. Lastly, you will also need to put in some actions, so that you can lay the ground for their manifestation. For instance, affirming that you will win the lottery can only be possible when you buy a ticket.

10. Remind Yourself Daily. In a hurried lifestyle with 1001 things to do, you can find it hard to remember to repeating the positive daily affirmations. Hence, put them in a visible location, like on the wall or in front of the mirror or save them in a PowerPoint slide to be used as a screensaver.

Here are some examples to help illustrate the above 10 tips:

Positive Daily Affirmations For Self Confidence

1. I am sure of my ability to do what is necessary to improve my life.

2. I feel good about the way I do my job.

3. I love myself and accept myself for who I am.

Positive Daily Affirmations For Abundance

1. All the things I want and need come to me.

2. I am an abundant person.

3. I create abundance in all that I say and do.

Positive Daily Affirmations For Success

1. I am successful.

2. Everything I do turns into success.

3. I attract positive-minded people to me; I draw all things positive to myself.

How To Make Your Daily Interactions Less Stressful

How to make your daily interactions less stressful. How can you make your interactions with others less stressful? Make a note of the number times your emotional sense of well being was disrupted and you felt stressed out enough to have an outburst during the day. Was it during a conversation or during a meeting? Was it with family, co-workers or strangers? Begin by finding out your emotional disruption ratio or percentage.

How many times per 10 encounters or interactions were so upset that it affected the next activity you had to do? If you have 20 interactions and you significantly emotionally upset, 2 times, then your disruption ratio was 1 to 10 or 10%. If your disruption ratio or percentage is 5 out of 10, or 50% then you have a lot to work on. How can you do this?

Get a stress-free -living journal or notebook and write down those encounters that emotionally disrupted you.. Unless you have a way to regularly evaluate your progress throughout your stress management journey, you will not have sustainable success. How can you tell your daily mini goals if you don’t evaluate them? Are you regularly having the thoughts and conversations that will help you eliminate stress? Are you reducing or eliminating those situations that predispose you to stressful encounters based on your personality or compass profile? Are you keeping stress out of your relationships and conversations? How can you do that?

Plan ahead and form the habit of listening with intensity, so that you can tell when you are being insulted or disrespected. Determine if you will respond, let it go or lash out. I typically do not recommend lashing out because you lash out, the other person is most likely to respond by lashing out too. This leads to more conversational frustrations and anger.

Instead of lashing out learn to make strategic adjustments in your conversations. Be patient with yourself. Be prepared to learn from your own mistakes or from your critics. Remember that explanations, explain nothing. Don’t assume that when you explain yourself to others that they would understand. Most of the time they won’t.

Make a list of activities you consider realistic that will help you reduce stress from your daily conversations and interactions. You have to stick to your plan and accomplish the tasks on your list one after the other. If you do this day in, day out, week after week, you will form habits that will help you gain in a better ability to manage both the expected and unexpected emotional disruptions and stressful encounters without losing it!

A Daily Reprieve – What Does it Mean to the Recovering Alcoholic?

According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, the word “reprieve” means:

1: to delay the punishment of (as a condemned prisoner)

2: to give relief or deliverance to for a time

“One day at a time” and “I don’t have to drink today” are popular sayings in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous (pg, 85) says “We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.

Both dictionary definitions of reprieve can be applied to the alcoholic. When an alcoholic is actively drinking, he is the same as a condemned prisoner–condemned to a life of jails, institutions, or even death. When the alcoholic finally gets into recovery and learns that he doesn’t have to drink today, he is given a reprieve. The punishment to his body, to his self-esteem, and to his loved ones is delayed as long as the alcoholic stays sober. The recovering alcoholic is given relief or deliverance to for a time from the effects of his alcoholism.

Notice that the Big Book of AA places a contingency on the daily reprieve. For the recovering alcoholic to get a daily reprieve, he must first maintain his spiritual condition on a daily basis. This means that he must communicate with his Higher Power, or God, on a daily basis and ask for help to stay sober that day. The alcoholic must then allow his actions to be led by God and not indulge his self will.

As the daily reprieves add up, the recovering alcoholic will notice his mind becoming clearer, his health improving, his relationships getting better, and his self-esteem increasing. He will learn how to live life on life’s terms without alcohol–one day at a time.

An Invitation to a Daily Mini-Retreat

“A retreat can be anything that allows us to intentionally enter another world where time slows to nonexistence, silence prevails, and a certain tranquility permeates the atmosphere. Here in this sacred space, we can replenish our souls, restoring our connection to the eternal. A daily retreat nurtures our inner life & encourages our progress along our unique spiritual journey.”

–Rachel Harris, Ph.D, in 20-Minute Retreats

Wake-Up Call

The sun was still fairly high in the sky as I sat quietly on the balcony. I had brought two very fat pillows to my bench so that I would be even more comfortable than usual. I had a free moment, and didn’t bring a book, didn’t sit down to plan or to write. I decided just to sit there quietly and relax.

Stray thoughts had been dropping by to say hello all day as I hurried from one place to another, pressured to get everything done that was on the agenda as quickly and as expediently as possible, tense without even knowing it, wishing I could just push an escape button and be back at home in my comfy house dress and slippers.

What were my thoughts?

That right now, my life is moving too fast! That I have SO MUCH TO DO that I am not tending to myself, to my heart and soul, at all. Once again, I had drifted into my crazy-making routine of staying up late, waking up exhausted and not breathing very much as one item on the agenda shifted into the next.

Once again, I resolved to slow down and make room in my crazy busy schedule for me. For quiet. For stillness. For intuitive guidance. For connecting more deeply with myself. Join me?

What’s in Your Daily Mini-Retreat Kit?

I suggest the following…

1) A journal: have your journal nearby just in case a thought comes to mind that you want to capture. Maybe even a paragraph? But there is no rule that says you have to fill a page. Even a two-word documentation of how you are feeling that day might be meaningful down the road.

2) A cup of tea: for me, a cup of chamomile tea is about the warmest, coziest thing I can think of to add to a retreat. But for you, it might be something else. Hot chocolate? Sweet tea? Give yourself something comforting.

3) A candle: mine smells like a cookie! But anything that smells good or is pleasant to watch would do. You can even mesmerize yourself by staring at the flame and have a few minutes of meditation.

4) A CD of soothing music: music, unless it is very somber, almost always cheers me up. Anything that stirs your spirit, inspires hope or makes you feel good would be a great addition to your daily retreat.

How Long a Retreat Are We Talking About, Exactly?

How much time would work for you? Even a ten-minute break can be rejuvenating. I sat out on my balcony for half an hour but I was completely relaxed in about 15 minutes.

Differences in Daily Fantasy Sports Sites

There are only two main sites that users can choose from to play daily fantasy, DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites share similarities but at the same time are drastically different. Both are similar in popularity and have been around since the beginning of daily fantasy sports. Both sites offer hundreds of contests and pay out millions of dollars every day. The sites pay out at an identical rate and the contests offer the same rewards on both sites. So how do you choose which one to use?

The answer is pretty simple; try both of them out and choose which one you like more. Both sites will pay out the same. So, profitability and your chances of winning are basically undistinguishable between the two. The difference between the sites is how you build your lineup for your daily contests. For example, in daily NBA contests, on DraftKings you choose eight players and on FanDuel you choose nine players. DraftKings gives you a salary cap of $50,000, allowing you to choose eight players with combined salaries of $50,000 or less. On FanDuel, you have a $60,000 salary cap to choose nine players to fit into your lineup. Salaries of each player are different on each site. A popular opinion is that you can have more superstars or more higher salaried players on FanDuel because of the higher salary cap. This may be true, but everyone else you are competing against also gets more superstars or better players so it does not really make a difference.

FanDuel’s lineups are constructed of two point guards, two shooting guards, two small forwards, two power forwards, but only one center. DraftKings’ lineups are constructed of one of each of the five positions (PG, SG, SF, PF, C) and then one guard, so you must choose a point or shooting guard, one forward, either a small or power forward, and then finally a “Utility” player (this mean you can choose any player at any position) So the main difference between the sites is the strategy you use to construct your lineups. I suggest going and playing around on both sites and seeing which one you like better.

I would suggest choosing one site and playing that one only, not both. The strategies are different for both sites so once you choose you will want to stick with one and perfect your own strategy of building daily lineups. Bouncing back and fourth between sites will just be more challenging and require more time and research. Once you figure out which site you want to use, use it everyday and perfect your own strategy. The more times you play and the more experience you gain in creating lineups, the better you will become. There is a skill in building these lineups daily and with all skills you have to practice them to get better.

Benefits of Daily Disposable Contact Lenses

Are you or is someone you know finding it challenging to find a contact lens that is comfortable, safe, and convenient. If so than this article might be for you. Daily Disposable contact lenses are contacts worn on a daily basis, all day. At the end of your day you can discard the lenses only to replace them with fresh new ones the following morning. These types of lenses have many benefits over other types available on the market and this article will try to delve a little deeper into the extensive list of advantages that they bring to the table.

Before getting to the list of benefits let’s first try to distinguish the differences between contact lenses. Traditional contact lenses for instance, can be worn using a recommended wearing schedule for a specified period of time ranging from days to weeks depending on the lens product. Daily disposables are designed to be worn for one day and discarded at bed time and replaced with a fresh pair the next morning. No more cleaning and disinfecting your lenses and no more cases required to store them. It is also important not to confuse terminologies when discussing daily wear and daily disposables. The latter type are worn for a specified number of days, and disinfected each day to ensure sterility. The former, on the other hand, are worn for one day and then disposed of. Fresh new lenses are used the next day.

Okay, now that some of the semantics are out of the way let’s move on to the list of benefits that disposable contact lenses offer.

First on the list and perhaps arguably the most crucial benefit is the eye health advantage that these lenses offer. Wearing contacts over an extended period of time, even if they are cleaned and disinfected as recommended by the eye doctor, can result in the unpredictable buildup of calcium and protein deposits on their surface. This buildup can result in erratic surface dryness, as well as the potential accumulation of calcium deposits that irritate the inner eye lids. This unwanted foreign debris can cause people to be more vulnerable to eye irritation, or even infection leading to temporary discontinued use. For persons with seasonal allergies these deposits only serve to exacerbate the symptoms of the allergy that a person may have.

The second item on the list is comfort. Eye comfort is a must and this is the norm with fresh lenses worn every day. With these contacts you will experience how a clean lens surface can provide superior comfort.

Number three on the list is convenience. With daily disposable contact lenses there is no more need of purchasing and using cleansing/disinfecting solutions in order to maintain them. This valuable time can now be allocated towards more important tasks such as reading, improving gaming skills or watching funny cat videos on YouTube. Humor aside, every one’s time has intrinsic value and should be a serious consideration when choosing the appropriate contact lens.

Last but not least on this list is cost. Although these lenses may have a higher up front cost as compared to other types, once you factor out the money saved by not buying required care products, as well as the potential costs associated with resolving and treating unwanted eye infections, one can deduce that these are much more cost effective long term.

Although there are many benefits to wearing daily disposable contact lenses it is important to ask your eye doctor about them and see if they are compatible for you. Contact lenses, like shoes, come in various sizes and only your doctor can prescribe the one that best meets your needs.
