How to Make Money on IMVU

IMVU is a free social network set in a spectacular virtual 3D world. The members can meet new people and hang out with their friends in animated 3D environments. They can also design their own custom avatars and equip them with different clothes and accessories. Most of the coolest items out there are not free – they cost credits to buy. IMVU credits can be acquired either from various free promotions, or by buying them for real cash. Credits are the virtual currency used everywhere in the IMVU world.

Now that we’ve established that IMVU users spend credits (and in turn, real cash) on various nifty virtual items, you should know that the opposite is also true – members can make money on IMVU by selling various 3D designs on the site marketplace, and earning IMVU credits this way. It’s a great opportunity for people with graphics design skills to get some additional income. IMVU uses Cal3D library for designing the 3D items.

Anyone can use the Content Creation program on IMVU. The only requirement is a small initial credits investment to cover the submission fees to the IMVU product catalog. If you create something that becomes really popular, you can earn lots of credits over a short period of time. That includes items people use to enhance the look of their avatar, and 3D environment designs for the chat rooms.

You might wonder how earning IMVU credits translates into making money. The thing is, IMVU allows converting their credits to real cash. There is a number of third party services that both sell and buy credits. If you have a lot of credits available, you can sell them to one of those merchants for real money in your PayPal account. In this regard, IMVU is similar to Second Life which also allows selling and buying of their virtual currency for real world money.

Playing Free Keno Pogo for Fun

Folks who want to play keno for fun can now avail of a 100% free version of this all-time favorite casino game through Pogo.com. Keno pogo is a free online keno game that allows you to pick numbers from the board without having to place any gambling money for your bets. There is simply “no obligations” here, just like in any other sites offering free games and services. You can enter the online keno game without even paying for the annual membership fee. On top of that, you can also win tokens with which you can exchange for raffle tickets to win prizes.

The keno pogo has several features to offer to their members. There is this impressive chat feature that is located at the left side of the screen. Members around the globe can chat to each other while playing the keno game at their own pace. It gives the player a chance to interact with fellow keno players from several locations, thus suggesting a community that is similar to that of the live casinos. There is also an avatar called a “mini” that you can set up according to your own preferences. By visiting the Mini Mall, you can buy accessories for your mini. This avatar will be present in all the game rooms that you will visit at Pogo.

In a pogo keno, you will play the game in such a way that you basically play one in a live casino. There is a keno “ticket” that is numbered from 1 through 80, and you will have to select up to 10 random “spots” for the draw. You may also opt to let the computer choose random numbers from the board if you cannot decide on what numbers to mark. The random number generator will pick 20 numbers one by one as soon as you have finished marking your “ticket”. If all the drawn numbers matched yours, you win the jackpot. Of course, this possibility is very unlikely to happen, and even if the numbers did match your spots, you might have wished you tried your luck in a live (and paid) casino game instead. There is also a payout for at least one “hit” spot from all the 20 drawn numbers. You will receive tokens that are equal to the amount of your prize if you win a particular keno game.

Tokens gained from playing free online keno games have no monetary value. However, you can trade these tokens for tickets in the raffle draws for a chance to win big prizes. A raffle draw can be a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You just have to earn enough tokens to be able to acquire such raffle tickets. You may also need to play non-stop in pogo keno to earn as much tokens as possible.

Members of Club Pogo have exclusive access to the online keno game. For a minimum annual fee of $35 per year, they can play keno non-stop and without interruptions by sponsor ads. The prizes for the Club Pogo members are also two times bigger than that of the payouts for the regular members.

The Jarvis Method, Good Story Structure and StoryCraft

As a fiction writer, I’ve discovered one of the hardest parts of creating a story isn’t in the writing process, it’s figuring out the best structure to tell the story. The majority of movie scripts use the three-act structure, sometimes throwing in a prologue and epilogue which essentially turns it into a five-act structure in the storytelling process.

But there’s more to story structure than just its acts: beginning, middle and end. The Jarvis method uses what all of “civilization’s great myths and literary classics have in common,” a well-plotted and structured story.

Pulling ideas from Joseph Campbell’s the “Hero with a Thousand Faces,” the Jarvis method asks you questions about your characters, her adversaries, her ordinary and extraordinary worlds and more. It helps you construct a plot line, themes and conflicts as it aids in full character development. Your story becomes better because of this method. It doesn’t write your story for you – it helps you develop it to its full potential.

StoryCraft software, StoryCraft Luxury and StoryCraft Screenplay all use these elements when helping design your story structure. You won’t find the Jarvis Method listed in any other kind of software as it is proprietary to this software.

John Jarvis, a member of the Writer’s Guild of America, also wrote scripts while working in Hollywood, is one of the creators behind this software. He designed the Jarvis Method to work with his software creating these mythological premises found in a good stories and movies today.

Writers argue about the validity of the “Hero’s Journey” in story today, but it still works — the proof is in the pudding. The blockbuster “Avatar” uses these mythological principles as it tells its story. It works because these mythological archetypes are present in our unconscious and deeply resonate with the movie fan or reader as they enjoy the story.

Deep myth and archetypes go beyond cultural or societal boundaries and touch something within all of us – no matter in which country we find ourselves. That’s why “Avatar” is such a great hit – because it’s in tune with the myth buried within: the “Hero’s Journey.”

It doesn’t matter whether your story is a fantasy, science fiction, drama, true story or epic — the “Hero’s Journey” works with all of them.

Find out how easy it is to use this software and incorporate the “Hero’s Journey” into your story by clicking on the link below to see a demo of how it works.

5 Ways Hunting Is Actually Environmentally Friendly

Slow down. Before you call PETA to request they send a hitman, hear me out. A majority of people eat meat, so why is farming a better source of meat than hunting? Turns out it’s not, at least in terms of their respective “green” scores. When done for sustenance and not just for sport, hunting can actually be an environmentally friendly activity.

Let’s be clear – this statement only applies if you are following a specific set of guidelines. You are consuming or using every part of the animal you kill, to the best of your ability, and are not just killing for the sake of killing. The population of animals you are hunting is one that actually requires control, and that control is professionally and/or properly managed. You are also making every effort to ensure the animal is killed humanely and that the weapon you use to do so is efficient.

Think Jake from Avatar, not Uncle Jimbo from South Park.

With all that in mind, consider that hunting has been part of the human story for countless generations. It is an ancient source of nourishment, connecting us to our wilder selves, and to nature. It might be surprising, but here are 5 ways hunting is actually environmentally friendly.

1. It Maintains and Controls Animal Populations

In the US at least, hunting is a highly regulated activity. Laws are in place at local, state, and federal levels that keep numbers of prey animals in check. These efforts help us do things like cut down on deer-car collisions and protect our agricultural products from grazing wildlife, helping us co-exist. At the same time, the overall health of the species is also protected in most places because of conservation laws limiting which animals can be hunted, when and where you can pursue them, and how many you are allowed to take.

The process has and will always need constant management, so animal populations that are popular with hunters may have a leg up, since they will be more vigilantly monitored for conservation as well as for the sake of preserving the sport.

2. It Bypasses Livestock Farming Practices

Entire books have been written about the environmental debacle of large-scale livestock farming. Let’s just cover the basics. We use 30% of the land on Earth to grow vegetables used to feed livestock like cattle, chicken, and pigs. We only use 10% to feed ourselves directly. We also use one third of the Earth’s fresh water hydrating our farm animals. Not to mention that methane emissions from livestock farming, produced as a by-product of digestion, account for at least one-third of all agriculture-related greenhouse gases.

Just like any other mass-produced food, commercially farmed meat often goes to waste. Supermarkets, restaurants, and consumers alike purchase more than they need and end up throwing too much of it away. And unlike the habitats of animals in the wild, livestock farming has already required the destruction of millions of acres of carbon-absorbing forests worldwide, accounting for as much as 15% of global carbon emissions.

While smaller-scale and “backyard” farms are great alternatives to large-scale commercial sources of meat, hunting is also a viable option. Deer, elk, wild hog, duck, and rabbit are all good substitutes for traditional livestock.

3. No Added Ingredients

One of the best things about eating game meat is knowing that it tastes just how nature intended. And you might be surprised to learn that much of our commercially-raised livestock actually does have added ingredients.

Agricultural livestock animals are often given small doses of antibiotics. Not to stave off infection, as you might think, but to promote growth, an accidental side effect discovered in the 1940s. This is a problem because the practice leads to the emergence of antibiotic-resistance bacterial strains. Though the potential impact on human health hasn’t yet been quantified, the possibility of a future outbreak certainly exists.

US farmers often give livestock animals steroid hormones or synthetic equivalents to promote growth and metabolism of feed into meat. The FDA claims these chemicals are safe for human consumption, but studies have shown they are excreted in feces, where they can make their way into the water systems, causing endocrine disruption for fish and other wildlife, and possibly finding their way to us.

Unless you’re buying organic or grass-fed, the meat you purchase at the store was likely raised on GMO feed. Genetically modified animal feed is made from plants that either produce pesticides themselves or are bred to withstand heavy applications of nasty chemicals designed to kill bugs. Those chemicals aren’t being removed from the plants before they’re given to livestock. Instead, they’re collecting in the animals’ fat, which we then cook up and eat, exposing ourselves to substances that cause cancer, reproductive problems, and many other health issues.

As long as you aren’t hunting in an area with a known environmental contamination, you won’t have to worry if your game meat is full of nasty things whose names you can’t even spell. Nope, just pure, natural, chemical-free cuts of tasty goodness.

4. The Sport Keeps Itself Wild

Hunters are among the most active conservationists. It’s logical – in order to enjoy hunting as a sport, the land needs to stay wild. Without a well-preserved habitat, game species simply won’t thrive, and access to them will become limited.

People who purchase hunting gear also make a huge financial contribution to protection of hunting habitats. In 1937, Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into law the Pittman-Robertson Act, allowing an 11% tax on firearms, ammunition, bows, and arrows. The piece of ingenious legislation has been a steady and unbroken source of conservation funding ever since, amassing over $18 billion total. The money is distributed yearly to states to spend how they choose – education, research, restoration, or however they see fit. The results, such as the resurgence of bighorn sheep populations in the southern Rockies, have been well worth it.

Fees paid for obtaining a hunting license or tag also assist in conservation efforts. States use the revenue to lease land for hunters to access, keeping it at least temporarily undeveloped. They also use it to run fish hatcheries, fight invasive species, keep wildlife populations healthy, and to offer special programs and education. In Colorado, the Parks & Wildlife Department estimates that 62% of its funds dedicated to wildlife efforts come from licensing fees, with all taxes and grants combined only contributing 34% (donations and direct sales made up the rest).

In short, hunting pays for itself. Hunters as a group give back more than they take by paying higher taxes and fees on products and services associated with hunting, and by promoting a use of the land that requires it stay just the way it is.

5. It Creates a Lifetime Appreciation of Nature

Learning to hunt with skill can give you a solid appreciation of both animal behavior and the rules of the wild. It teaches you respect of the land and the animal, of the cycle of life and death, of our dependence on other life forms for survival.

Hunting a deer is an all-day endeavor, at minimum. It just isn’t possible to spend that much time in nature and not connect deeply with it. Hunters learn to work with the land, instead of against it, to achieve their goals, and their enjoyment of their time outdoors leads to a naturalist passion that knows no bounds.

Are you a hunter? Has hunting brought you closer to nature? What other ways do you think hunting can be environmentally friendly?

Japanese Naruto and Indian Krishna – What They Have in Common

People like fairy tales. If you have any doubts about it yet, check the Eurovision song contest winner of 2009.

People love beautiful stories with love between beautiful characters. If these heroes are faced by danger and complications, you have a story that sells. And when characters are not black-and-white, not flat villains and good guys, when they are endowed with both advantageous and not-so-good qualities, you have a plot that could bring you a name in the literary world.

Masashi Kishimoto is yet another example of this phenomenon. His manga character Naruto made both him and his creation a world-wide celebrities and sold with more that 100 million copies in many languages.

Here we make a little comparison of characters in Indian and Japanese fantasy worlds.

In Indian mythology Krishna is believed to be the God Himself descending on earth and playing a role of beautiful boy who has a lot of power when it comes to fighting against demons. In his everyday life he has a nice yet a little mischievous personality playing practical jokes with his co-villagers. Being a son in a royal family, he was abandoned due to danger of being killed by a demon Kamsa, and transferred to a little village Vrindavan where people led simple lives. He has many friends, cowherd boys, who have a lot of fun between regular attacks of demons. Then Krishna and his mighty brother Balaram come to rescue them.

Naruto is a fictional character created by manga artist about ten years ago. Although a nice beautiful boy, he is ostracized by his co villagers who believe that a nine-tailed demon is sealed in his body. He is kind to people, yet has a little mischievous nature. He fights against villains and demons who attack their village Konahagakure. He has great fighting skills that allow him to build his authority among villagers.

When we speak about avatars in Indian terms, we refer to descent or embodiment of gods or their expansions. The term avatar means completely different concept in online communities. It is kind of small picture that people use in forums and discussion boards. More than 100 thousand people search for Naruto avatars each month on Google. Krishna divine avatars are enlisted in holy scripture Shrimad Bhagavatam having a five thousand years of history.

So if we take into account mischievous personality of both beautiful boys and their environment, their villages that are attacked by demons, great fighting skills and practical jokes, we see many similarities between these characters. People love them a lot, thus they search for their avatars, in their different meanings, though.

Robot MMORPG Games

Age of Armor is one of the free MMORPG games, developed and published by Snailgame. The theme of the game is the wars between Earth United Government and the Republic of Aesir. The two warring factions are named the Global Federation and Mars Arthur. Players can choose to enter the game as a human, enhanced human or neo human. After they enter the game in their chosen avatar, they can begin assembling their armor. Then players can go ahead and engage in war against their enemies. The armor and robotic mechanics improve as you fight and defeat the opposing faction. Players can also practice their moves and tactics so that they gain experience. They can also engage in combat with other players to hone their skills.

Another of the interesting robot MMO games is “Force of Arms”. The game is set in a world that is run by different corporations. There are four corporations that fight each other to achieve dominance. The warring corporations are the Senka Corporation, the Genoma Corporation, ZekCom and the Lukron Corporation. The Senka Corporation is dedicated to mechanical technologies. Their vehicles are characterized by sharp angles and advanced metals. The Genoma Corporation as the name suggests focuses on using biologic and genetic technologies as weapons. Their vehicles are made using genetically engineered metals. ZekCom is a corporation that specializes in communications and information systems. This is reflected in their vehicles which are modular and hi-tech. The Lukron Corporation has its strength in oil monopolies and power technologies. They have highly capable vehicles with good defensive systems.

Exteel is a game that is designed for players who enjoy combat. The game involves hand to hand combat, gun play and combat sequences. The player enters the game as a mercenary pilot. The pilot grows in rank and experience as they wage and win battles. Players with the highest worldwide rankings can establish dominance.

Such robot MMORPG games provide players with a choice of avatars and combat options so that they get the best gaming experience.

Wicked Fun Halloween Sex: Channel Your Inner Bat

You knew Bruce Wayne was damn sexy, but did you ever wonder why he chose a bat as his superhero avatar? A group of scientists in China may have uncovered Batman’s, um,  mind-blowing sex secret: female bats give great head.

Apparently bats not only engage in fellatio, the female short-nosed fruit bats (Cynopterus sphinx) who go down on their males also prolong intercourse by a significant margin, possibly increasing their chance for successful fertilization. That may not be the end you had in mind, but hello, couples-trying-for-babies! Now you have even more reason to request or offer a little up-front down-low. Or a lot.

The team doing the research filmed the sexual encounters of 60 fruit bats captured from a local park, and revved up their peeping Tom genes by carefully studying the bats as they made dark, furry whoopee. (I’m thinking this team had plenty of eager interns.)

70% of the videos in which the bats engaged in sex featured fellatio, and those bat pairings scored an average of 100 seconds more sex than the sad couples who only got it for their usual average of 2 minutes.

Do you suppose bats do it upside down? Not that I’m recommending anything, but I totally see how this might work.

Anyway, maybe these lucky flying furballs will inspire you this Halloween. There’s certainly something to be said for great head. In the animal world (of which we are a part!) it’s helping couples get more sex, for longer periods of time. So get down and channel your inner bat!

Horror, Science Fiction and Fantasy

I’m a big fan of all three genres and not just because I like dragons or blood and guts but because it opens our minds to other worlds. Where would we be now if it wasn’t for imagination? Most things we take for granted was first conceived by a writer many years ago. The idea of talking to someone face to face over an electronic device was so far fetched that it was labeled science fiction. Yet now we have the iPhone with FaceTime and many other phone companies looking to jump on the band wagon.

The idea of living on Mars was just preposterous when written about but it made good reading. Now when you watch a documentary it highlights the possibility of colonising other planets with Mars being the most obvious.

Even the term ‘robotics’ was first invented by a sci-fi writer called Isaac Asimov and is now a widely accepted term within the scientific community. Where will it end? The answer is simple. How far can the imagination go? Pretty far I’d say.

Don’t take me the wrong way. I love all books and all stories. I can read a thriller or a crime novel just as well as a horror one but they are based in our own world and it’s more or less something we see played out in the newspapers and tabloids every day. The appeal is seeing the good guy win. But when it comes to other worlds it’s a whole new set of rules. Different politics mean you could kill a man in the street with no consequence. You can venture into distance galaxies and planets from you comfort of your own living room.

Science Fiction alone is one of the most popular genres in the world producing films such as Avatar, X-Men, The Green Lantern and Star Wars whereas horror has produced classics such as Hellraiser, Saw, The Candyman and The Exorcist.

Horror has produced some of the most memorable books and films in the world. One such example would be Stephen King’s The Shining.

Fantasy itself isn’t anything to smirk at when you have such stories as Avatar or Lord of the Rings.

People are so apt to dismiss these three genres as rubbish or hocus pocus, unbeknownst to them that most of their favourite films started out life as a book.

One of life’s greatest pleasures is reading, taking you places you’ve never been before and some you’d rather not re-visit any time soon. But they’ll always leave a lasting impression.

How to Make Runescape Gold

Our tip this week is for all you Runescape players out there. All too often, RS players spend hours and hours trying to make money to get all those things they want. They try everything, from mining ore, smelting it into bars and then crafting items to sell, to spending endless hours chopping wood or fishing for lobsters. Yes, you can make money this way…if you want to be bored to death. We prefer a much simpler, much faster way of making easy (and quick) Runescape gold.

COW PARTS: When you begin your new Runescape avatar, you start in the city of Lumbridge. Thankfully, just to the east of Lumbridge is one of the best places to get gold: the cow-field. To make money on cowhides, you first want to empty everything from your inventory except your armor and weapons. Take these to the bank and drop them off. Then head east out of the castle and across the bridge, then north until you see the field to the east with all the cows in it. This is where you are going to make money.

When you first enter the cow-field, you will probably see a lot of other people in there killing cows. This is also a great place to train low-level skills, which is why it is such a great place to get money. All those people training on cows are usually too busy picking up the cow parts, which means all you have to do is walk around and pick up the loose cowhides. If all the hides are getting picked up, no problem. Just kill the cows yourself and take the hides.

Collect cowhides until your inventory is full. Then take them to the bank and return for more. You want to collect about 100 or so hides, though the more you get, the more money you’ll make.

Once you have your hides, go to the bank and withdraw them as a banknote. Then head up to the Grand Exchange outside of Varrock. There you will be able to sell your hides for about 130 gp each. If you have 100 hides, that’s 13,000 gold pieces for just picking up scraps.

Not bad, huh?

What is the Difference Between HD and 3D Technology?

3D (3-Dimensional) technology seems to have come to the forefront, thanks to the blockbuster world-wide success of the movie Avatar and other releases in the 3D category. So what is 3D anyway and how does it compare to HD (High-Definition)?

Well, HD (also known as Hi-Def) is video picture quality with considerably higher picture resolution than the traditional Standard-Definition (or SD). HD generally has about 1 to 2 million pixels per frame which is probably 5 times compared to SD. Therefore, the picture quality is very high quality and sharp, you can’t compare the quality to SD.

3D on the other hand is another dimension altogether. When watching video in 3D format, the pictures seem to jump outside the screen giving it a real-life-like experience (as if you were experiencing it right there and then). 3D experience is achieved through a technique called Stereoscopy.

It’s based on the way the human brain and eyes work together. An individual’s pupils of the eye are about 6.5 cm (or 2.5 inches) apart, therefore each eye views a scene from a different angle and generates a unique image. The brain then merges the images to create a single picture. The slight difference between the image from the right eye and the image from the left eye allows the brain to judge the depth.

There are mainly three types of 3D technology and each one works differently:

The first type, anaglyph technology, is the most famous one (the red/blue paper glasses) but usually the 3D effects are not all that great. This type of technology has been used numerous times in cinema theaters, mostly because the red and blue glasses are an inexpensive option.

The second type, polarized technology, is the technology you’ve experienced when watching 3D movies in an IMAX theater, for example, Avatar 3D, Alice in Wonderland 3D and others. To create that 3D effect, two images are projected onto the same screen through different polarizing filters. The viewer wears low-cost eyeglasses which also contain a pair of different polarizing filters.

The third type, active technology, is starting to become more mainstream and standard in terms of 3D watching for home use. With this technology, an HDTV will display one image to your left eye and one image to your right eye. Active liquid crystal shutter glasses are then worn by the viewer and quickly block each eye in sequence to ensure that each eye only sees the corresponding image being displayed on the 3D TV set.
