Hoodia – How Long Does it Take Before it Starts to Work?

Since Hoodia Gordonii is an all-natural plant material it does not work like drugs that are designed to work the same every time for everyone. Everyone’s body chemistry is slightly different and each person will react to herbs differently. It may take time before it starts working on you.

Some people have found that from the very first moment they take hoodia their food demands decrease considerably. Others needed to be on a regiment of two capsules a day for a full month before they see results. Dieters have reported that after taking hoodia for several months they needed to increase the dosage to get the needed potency. And in the same vane, some have noticed that one pill would keep their appetite suppressed for several days.

You can see that there is no one dosage or program that is universal. You will need to see what works for you. The main thing to remember is that hoodia gordonii will curb your appetite and you will lose weight. But you must you take it over time. Don’t give up. That would be a big mistake.

We suggest the following:

1. Make sure you give the product an honest trial. Take one full bottle before you decide whether or not it is working for you. Hoodia has a very subtle effect as there are no stimulants, so you won’t feel anything. While other diet products speed up your heart or cause digestive mishaps, you won’t even be aware that you have taken hoodia. (Except that your hunger cravings will have gone away.)

2. Try varying your dosages to discover what is right for you. Every person has different absorption rates. The usual dosage is 1 capsule in the morning and 1 in the afternoon about 1 – 2 hours before meals. You might want to try starting off with 2 capsules in the morning and 2 in the afternoon for the first 3 days. If, on the first day you find that hoodia is already curbing your appetite you can drop back to a lesser dosage.

3. If you have found that you are seldom hungry during the day but binge at night, skip the daytime dose and see if only one capsule in the afternoon will solve your problem. Or take one in the afternoon and one in the evening. If you are the type of person who wakes up hungry then take your hoodia on rising.

4. Mark your calendar so you will know when you started taking hoodia. Don’t worry about how you feel or if you are losing weight. Try to avoid thinking about being hungry? In many cases you might feel hungry but find that you just don’t eat as much as you used to. You “fill up’ faster.

5. Try not to weigh yourself for at least 2 weeks. Scale watching is a bad habit as it is normal for your weight to fluctuate daily. It’s easy for you to be deceived into thinking you aren’t losing and get discouraged. Remember, you may be one of the people that need to stay on hoodia for a month or more before it starts to work. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that if it doesn’t work within a few days, it isn’t going to. Don’t defeat yourself before you even get started.

6. Give yourself 60 disciplined days when you take hoodia every single day. Make sure you don’t skip days or change dosages. Consider this your test period to see if it will work. Before the two months are up, you are going to hear people commenting on how good you look.

When you do hop on the scales, you will be pleasantly surprised. One of the biggest payoffs is that not only will you look great but you will realize that it was actually easy to lose.

How Long Should I Wait Before Calling My Ex?

Getting back with someone who broke up with you really is an art form. It requires skill and luck, patience, perseverance and knowledge.

Most of all, it requires near perfect timing.

Knowing when you should get back in touch with an ex boyfriend is a tricky thing. You want to leave him alone for a while, so he can miss you, but you also want to keep yourself in the back of his mind.

Wait too long to get back in touch after the breakup, and you could lose him for good. But try calling or contacting too soon? Well, that’s sure to drive him hard in the opposite direction.

So when can you call your ex? How long should you wait before texting or getting back in touch with him? Is there a hard, fast rule?

Even better, are there ways of getting HIM to call YOU?

Why No Contact is Important After a Breakup

Right now you’re probably going through some of the worst heartache of your life. You’re not hungry. You’re not interested in anything. All you can think about is your ex boyfriend, and how lonely it is without him.

That’s because you MISS him.

In order for your ex to want you again, he’s first going to need to miss you. And in order to miss you, guess what?

You’re going to have to go away.

It only makes sense: if you’re still hanging around, if you’re still making yourself visually and emotionally available, if you’re still trying to call or contact or text your ex boyfriend, chances are good he doesn’t miss you at all. That’s because he still has you. In one form or another.

Now let’s pretend you haven’t called your ex at all. You didn’t run to Facebook to change your status, like a jilted ex-lover. You haven’t been stalking his Facebook page, or liking his posts, or checking his Instagram or any of the things you used to do when the two of you were together.

Your boyfriend, of course, knows this. That’s because after the breakup, he’s looking back at you. Knowing you still want him is comforting for him. But not seeing you at all? it’s discomforting, disquieting, and over time, it can even make him question the decision to break things off.

This is what you want. By creating doubt in your ex boyfriend’s mind, you create value. Suddenly you’re a commodity he probably should’ve kept. In time, he realizes he should’ve never let you go.

Rekindling Old Feelings After the No Contact Phase

If you think back to the origins of your relationship, you’ll remember a time when everything was golden. You and your boyfriend never fought. You couldn’t stand to be apart from each other. The two of you texted and called all the time, he did sweet things for you, and every time you fell into bed you had mindblowing sex.

This stage of the romance is where the two of you forged deep-seeded connections and emotional bonds. Those types of feelings blossomed as you continued seeing each other. They grew roots. They formed the very foundation of the relationship.

Now, when your boyfriend broke up with you? It’s not because these connections suddenly evaporated. They didn’t disappear overnight; in fact, they didn’t disappear at all. Your boyfriend BURIED THEM in light of his decision to break things off.

Burying these feelings doesn’t outright kill them. In time, yes, but not in the days or weeks that follow your breakup. Your ex is intentionally NOT calling you and NOT seeing you because any type of contact would only stir those feelings back up.

But wait… isn’t this a good thing?

No, not if you want him back.

Throwing those emotional connections in your boyfriend’s face will only make him angry right now. Right now, in his book, any efforts like that on your part are purely self-serving. You’re throwing those things at him to MAKE him love you. Not only will that not work, but in all honesty, you don’t want to “make” your boyfriend do anything.

You want him to come to those conclusions on his own.

Any new relationship you have with your ex boyfriend needs to be built on what he thinks to be his terms. With some knowledge on how to do this, and a little bit of practice, you can actually manipulate him into thinking this way.

There are fast-forward techniques you can use to accelerate the making up process, but only if you implement them subtly. They must be used carefully, and they must be executed at exactly the right time.

How Long Does It Really Take To Get Your Ex Back?

You would have surely heard this expert advice: stay away from your ex if you want to get your ex back. But this can be very vague. Just how long should you maintain this distance and how long does it take to really win back an ex lover?

Undoubtedly this is one of the toughest questions and no one can really confirm the exact time it takes to win back someone’s heart. The only thing that can be said with certainty is that it takes a long time during which you have to hold your patience.

Considering that everyone is different, the exact time someone takes to come around a dirty break up is impossible to guess. The only thing you have to bank on is the truth that time heals all wounds, no matter for who and for which circumstances.

Some people have the ability to cope up with mental trauma and after a break up these people simply brush aside all negative emotions and get on with their lives. Yet there are also people who crumble under pressure. The only thing to do is to give each other time so as to be able to think rationally once more. But in the meantime, you too should try to get on with your life.

As your ex goes through the recovery process, you too are taking your own time to unveil several truths and come to terms with your life and the past relationship. To do this successfully, keep yourself as busy as possible instead of moaning and moping.

Remaining happy is a basic right and do not deny yourself from this simple pleasure. Be with positive-minded people and do things that relax you and keep you in lighter spirits.

It is also a good idea to discuss the matter of reconciliation first with your ex’s close friends just to check the kind of mood your ex is in, before you start to initiate the process. Hopefully, with time, things would look more positive and you would be able to get your ex back sooner than you thought.

Quit Smoking… How Long Can You Go Between Cigarettes?

I’m sure that any time you tried to quit smoking you quickly discovered just how long, you can go between cigarettes.

An interesting study involving Israeli flight attendants offered some curious insights.

Flight attendants were selected for two major routes. One from Tel Aviv to Europe, taking 3 hours and the other flying to New York a time of 11 hours.

I ask my clients to guess how long the various flight attendants could go before wanting a smoke. The answers are variable but usually focus on the short-term.

The study results tell a different, but consistent result.

Those on the 3-hour European flight on average started to want a cigarette 20 minutes before the flight landed.

Those on the 11-hour New York flight on average started to want a cigarette 20 minutes before the flight landed.

But how is this possible, I hear you thinking. The result showed that it wasn’t the length of time the attendants were without nicotine, but the time before they expected to be able to smoke.

Apart from delays in landing, they could calculate from experience how long it takes to land, disembark and be able to exit the airport.

So the difference is the story they told themselves. i.e. I can smoke in about three and a half hours or I can smoke in about eleven and a half hours.

The point is it’s the story and not the nicotine or their brain receptors, e time which controlled the timing of craving.

If you were to calculate the time between your cigarettes, you would find that it was your schedule, which dictated your smoking and not your cravings.

Many clients have told me they would expect to smoke less on a holiday because of lack of work stress, but instead they smoke more, just because they can.

Many tell me they must smoke every two hours but can survive a long flight just fine. Some may have a brief craving but it goes quickly simply because they have no option.

So what about you? How long can you manage without a cigarette if you have to, or how short a time will you allow between smokes if you have no restrictions. And what does this tell you about your habit and your addictions.

If you really think about it for awhile, surely you must be confused by this drug that has a specific life in your bloodstream yet behaves so differently in all kinds of circumstances.

My Husband Wants To Come Back Home – How Long Should I Make Him Wait To Teach Him A Lesson?

Much of the email that I receive is from wives who are trying to get their husbands to come back home. In these situations, the husband is in control of the timing of his returning home. However, I also hear from wives who feel as if they are in control. The reason for this is that they have kicked their husbands out and it is their decision as to when to let him return back home.

I heard from a wife who said: “my husband and I were fighting all the time and he wasn’t appreciating me enough so I asked him to leave. This isn’t the first time either. He moved out a couple of years ago when he lost his job and we were constantly fighting about money. We limped along for a while until he resorted back to his old habits and we started fighting again and he wasn’t even trying to work on our marriage. So I asked him to leave so he would learn his lesson. He’s been gone for a couple of weeks and he wants to come home. He keeps calling asking me to let him return. How long should I wait until I allow him come back? How long until I’m able to prove my point? I want him to stop taking me for granted and treating me poorly. And this is the only way I know to get his attention.”

Although it’s very common for one spouse to initiate a break or a separation in order to be taken seriously, sometimes this course of events can become an unfortunate habit, which appeared to be the case here. It seemed that every time the couple had difficulties, the wife felt that she needed to do something dramatic in order to get the husband’s attention. As a result, he would show her the behaviors that she was looking for – but only for a while – and then he would resort back to the same behavior until the cycle would repeat itself.

Therefore, I felt that this wife might be asking the wrong question. Instead of asking when she should let him back home to teach him a lesson, she might want to ask how she could bring about a change in the husband’s behaviors. The key would be that such a change should be lasting and healthy to the relationship rather than hurtful to the relationship, which was the case now.

Because right now, it seemed pretty obvious that both spouses knew that this wife was going to let the husband come back home eventually. It was also a reasonably safe bet that eventually the husband was going to resort back to his old behaviors over a certain period of time. But what if, instead of repeating this destructive cycle, the wife actually had a plan to change things once and for all? What if instead of demanding that the husband act in such a fleeting way, she instead inspired him to want to do better? I know this to be possible as I have done it myself.

The key is to determine why the husband is acting out and then to deal with whatever issues are contributing to the problem. With that done, you want to praise and encourage the husband when you see the behaviors that you want. Instead, the wife had been trying to punish him or make him afraid. These things only worked for a very short time and they made the husband resentful and withdrawn, which only damaged the marriage further. But if she could gradually make the husband want to do better and then praise him when he did, this would create a cycle that would make her marriage better and stronger.

The cycle that she was on now was weakening her marriage. And it was ensuring that every time they went through this, she had to be even more dramatic and forceful to get the husband to comply. The risk was that eventually the husband would think that the whole process wasn’t even worth it and wouldn’t even try to return back home.

So I guess my answer to this wife’s question would be that I would suggest waiting until you have a workable plan to strengthen your marriage in place before you worried about him coming home. Because having the husband leave to “scare” him was only putting a band aid on problems that were never being addressed so they were going to continue to come up again and again until eventually, they might end the marriage all together. But if the wife changed this dynamic and made it where the husband wanted to please her (and got positive feedback when he did) then she was setting it up so that the husband wouldn’t be likely to leave again.

Picking Long Shots In Horse Races

Good long shot bets aren’t easy to find. The tote board odds on a horse are usually a pretty good reflection of that runner’s chances of winning a race. There are some variations and once in a while the crowd miscalculates, but overall their opinion of a horse is usually pretty good. If that is the case, why can’t you just bet according to the odds? The reason is the vigorish, otherwise known as the vig. The amount of money the track takes out of each pool is the reason it’s so hard to beat the races.

On the other hand, every day, at tracks all around the world, some longshots do manage to win races and a few lucky or highly skilled people cash big tickets. There is good profit in long shot horses if you happen to be good enough to find them and brave enough to bet on them. The problem is that while there is only one favorite in a race, there are often more than one longshots in a race. Sometimes there are many.

If you want to try to cash a big ticket on a longshot here are a few tips. I’ve watched many thousands of races over the decades I’ve been going to the races and here are some of the things I’ve learned. First of all, if you’re going to bet on horse races do so with your eyes open to the fact that it’s risky and you could lose everything. Secondly, longshots usually win for a reason. That means that something has happened to make them run much better than they have in recent races.

As a handicapper you should look at all the changes that are taking place in today’s race. In the typical race there are many things that are changing. For instance, time itself is a big handicapping factor. Each horse has been away from the races since its last race. While some may have raced recently and will be in good shape, others may be coming back from a layoff. Your job is to look at the amount of time each horse has been away and to make a judgment as to whether or not a horse is improving, declining, or staying about the same.

Another big change is distance. Some horses have a distance that they are more successful at and you can spot this by looking at their past races. Some horses race better on turf while others prefer dirt or synthetic surfaces. Look closely at horses switching distance or surface. While looking at all the changes compare them to the favorite. See if the favorite has a reason to lose and if so how likely it is that one of the others will beat that one.

The True Secret to Long-Term Success in the Gym – For Beginners

There are no healthy “get buff quick” schemes when it comes to bodybuilding. Just like the natural formation of a mountain, it is a slow process. The industry professionals who are at peak performance have spent years or even decades building their perfect bodies. But, you may be asking, “How does this apply to me”?

Well, Jim (I’m just hoping that someone reading this article will be named Jim because that would be sweet) this applies to you because no matter what your goals are in the gym, it’s going to take you time to get there. Not only time, but also consistency and that’s what I’m here to talk to you about today.

Consistency doesn’t only mean going to the gym on a regular basis. It also means putting in a consistent amount of effort into every workout and being consistent with your tracking and growth. Let me explain.

Going to the gym on a regular basis is a huge part of reaching your fitness goals. If you take long breaks from going to the gym, say 3 weeks, this can severely hinder your progress. Not only have you lost those 3 weeks of muscle gain that you could have had by going to the gym, but you are also going to lose a portion of the muscle you had already built. This is due to your inactivity. If your muscles aren’t being stimulated to grow on a regular basis, you are going to hinder your gains in the long run. So lesson one is to stick with your gym regiment.

There are no “cheat days” when it comes to your workouts. You need to bring the same or greater intensity to each and every workout. Always trying to increase the amount of weight you lift or the amount of reps you do. If you aren’t going to bring your full and energetic self to each and every workout, you aren’t going to have the long-term success that others may have. It’s important to stay committed each and every workout. None of these half days where you just don’t feel like doing the work or sessions where you spend half the time on your phone. Now don’t get me wrong, every so often our bodies can’t handle the amount of stress we put on ourselves in the gym. It’s important to listen to your body and give it the rest it needs. I strongly recommend implementing deload weeks into your workout regiment where you do lighter weights than normal, work on form, and give your body some extra time to recover. Lesson 2 is be consistent in the intensity of your workout.

The most successful people in bodybuilding are the ones who track all of the weights they lift and everything they eat. This gives them a strong benchmark to work against and improve on. On a week to week basis it is very hard to remember how much weight you lifted and for how many reps for every given exercise. My advice? Get a small note pad or make a spreadsheet in which you can record your workouts. Track everything and try to improve on a workout to workout basis. One of the most important factors in bodybuilding success is diet. You need to count your macros and ensure you are getting enough protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Consistency in your diet is what’s going to make your progress faster and give you better long-term results.

In closing I hope you can see the important role that consistency plays in building muscle over the long-term. It may take a little extra effort at first, but once you get consistent you will stay consistent. I wish you all the best in your fitness journey and remember when it comes to fitness, consistency is king.

Children’s Horse Riding – How Long Does It Take To Learn?

Riding lessons, equipment and related expenses require an fair amount of money and time from parents of aspiring horse riders, and it is therefore unsurprising that those same parents are keen to understand how long it will take for their child to learn to ride a horse.

The most honest answer to the question is that actual mastery of the sport is really a journey that occurs over the course of a lifetime and riders will learn from a combination of their instructors, horses and peers.

A simple way to look at the answer to this question is to consider a mix of 4 criteria which include:

1, Ability to respond to coaching

2, Individual talent

3, Rider confidence and

4, Desired level of proficiency.

Through a combination of lessons, time spent around horses and simple off-horse exercises your child will be actively learning how to ride.

A rider’s ability to respond to coaching is one of the first key benchmarks in learning to ride and with a myriad of directions and instructions regarding position, technique and control, riders often feel overwhelmed at the onset. However, with patience, your child will soon be subconsciously responding to many of the initial directives without even a fleeing thought.

While initial lessons will be held on the lunge line, your child will quickly progress to private lessons and ultimately a group situation. Through these steps you can safely say, your child is learning to ride and before long, your child’s instructor will be focusing on new techniques as they progress to the next level of accomplishment.

Ultimately, you should recognize as with so many other things in life, that riders progress at their own levels and it is important to realize that proficiency in the saddle comes from a combination of lessons, practice and experience.

Horses and ponies are excellent teachers and equally important as a trainer in your child’s progress towards being an equestrian. From the first lesson where your child will hopefully be introduced to a steady trustworthy mount, to later lessons on the horse that occasionally spooks, your child will be growing and learning from the unique traits, characteristics and behaviors presented by each equine partner.

Every single lesson should advance the young rider along a path of towards riding competency. Riders will also spend lessons learning from their peers. It is here instructors can help their students grow by using other riders and their mounts as examples. Witnessing correctly executed maneuvers and exercises often increases proficiency faster than instructions followed by a trial and error approach.

Learning to ride is typically hindered for new riders given their limited exposure to horses and ample practice time. Young riders looking to develop their skills beyond the limited time available for lessons, should ask their teachers for some fitness training exercises that will develop muscle memory. These workouts, done away from the riding school, will often increase proficiency in the saddle and help your child master riding faster than relying strictly on lessons.

The amount of time required to learn to ride is something extremely difficult to quantify as mastery occurs at different levels for all riders. A better indicator for parents to use to assess progress is how much pleasure their child is getting out of riding. It is here you can see the value of lessons and your child’s individual progress and success.

Statute of Limitations on Audits: How Long Does the IRS Have to Audit a Return?

Contrary to popular belief, the Internal Revenue Service is subject to statutory limitations with regard to examining a taxpayer’s return and the IRS is not allowed an indefinite period to audit returns. Generally, the IRS is limited to a three-year statute of limitations from the date the return is filed. However, there are other circumstances when the IRS can go beyond the three-year statute. For example, when the taxpayer omits an item of income that is greater than twenty five percent from his return.

The six-year statute of limitations also applies where a taxpayer does not disclose a foreign asset that generates five thousand dollars or more of income. The important thing to note is that these statutes of limitations, whether three or six years, start running when the return is filed (not the year the tax return in for). In the case where no return is filed, the IRS has an indefinite amount of time to audit a year in cases where they believe fraud is likely.

The statute of limitations is also indefinite when the taxpayer files a false or fraudulent return. Official information from the IRS on the statute of limitations can be found at http://www.irs.gov/irm/part25/irm_25-006-001r.html.

There is an additional exception. Taxpayers may elect to extend the statute of limitations to allow for more time to examine a return. Although there are nine IRS forms that allow for the extension of the statute, only two are specific to individual taxpayers. There are two that the taxpayer must complete for consideration of an extension:

• Form 872 Consent to Extend the Time to Assess Tax

• Form 872-A Special Consent to Extend the Time to Assess Tax

First, the purpose of Form 872 is to extend the assessment time to a specified date. However, lastly, the purpose of Form 872-A is to extend “the period of limitations on assessment for an indefinite period of time” (MBBP). The taxpayer’s consent given on Form 872-A may be revoked; the taxpayer must file Form 872-T to revoke consent. The filing of the form begins the running of the 90-day period. This period is specific to either the assessment of tax or the issuance of a notice of deficiency.

There is indeed another type of consent, which is called “restricted consent.” Restricted consent is where the statute of limitations on the period of assessment is only extended with respect to specific and restricted issues. The taxpayer consents together with the IRS to hold open only certain issues and to let the statute of limitations expire on everything else. This decision is made during the course of an audit within the guidelines of the issues that are under examination.

In conclusion, knowing the statutory period is important because it allows a taxpayer to have closure after a return is filed. Once the statute of limitations has run, the IRS can no longer audit a return and the taxpayer is safe from audit. Getting Prepared for a Long Hike

Physical Conditioning

There is little doubt that when you are preparing for a hike such as the Appalachian Trail that physical conditioning is a major concern. The physical condition for preparation for a simple 6-mile and difficult hike is not what most of us would consider when we think of being in shape. The major differences are:

-The weight of the loaded pack on your back. – Shorter multiple day hikes with a loaded pack will help immensely with your trail conditioning, the longer the better.

* Hiking days on end with that pack on your back. – I have yet to discover a means to duplicate the conditioning required for day after day 10 to 20 mile days carrying the loaded pack. (I found out the hard way what no real condition resulted in when starting a 9-day hike on the Appalachian Trail)

WHAT TO INCLUDE WHEN PLANNING YOUR LONG HIKE

The articles that you must include in your pack include, may be where the most weight resides. Such articles are:

– Your Backpack- a principle of nature is that if space is available it will be filled. That will be a truth with your backpack. So, determining what size pack you take is your choice. Again, from personal experience, I started with a 6,000 cubic inches capacity backpack. That pack went about 200 miles until I realized that the load was more than I wanted to handle. I look at backpacks and purchased a pack with a capacity of 3,850 cubic inches. I have never looked back and have used that pack for many 9 day trips on the AT.

– The Tent Size – greatly depends on how many hikers are on the trip. With two hikers a two-person tent would work nicely if the configuration of the tent lent itself to be able to nearly equally split the weight. If not two tents become the answer. How the question turns to how little space do I need. D I need to be able to set up straight in the tent. All of the answers to these questions will greatly determine how much the tent will weigh. The decision is a personal one.

– The Sleeping Bag – The main factor to determine is how low will the temperature reach? The next factor is the type filling. Synthetics are typically heavier. Down filled sleeping bags are lighter. I have heard some complaints about wet down sleeping bags. I carried a 20-degree down-filled sleeping bag for over a hundred mile and in 7 days of continuous rain. I still carry that sleeping bag.

-The Stove and Utensils – The weight of the stove is generally how much the fuel weighs. Propane stoves are great and I have always carried a very light stove and a propane canister. Alcohol and solid fuel stoves are lighter. I have seen through-hikers on the AT using a pop can cut in half and alcohol. This again is a personal question. The current dried foods allow for eating from the container. I have found that a small titanium pot with a lid works well and acts as a convenient place to pack stove and cleanup towel.

After these decisions are made the decisions are then what else do I want to take.
