– From Orlando, Florida. Original airdate: 2/08/09
– X-Division champion Alex Shelley d. Eric Young, schoolboy — pin (13:01, **1/2). How many times is Eric Young going to be the challenger for the X-Division title and lose? Anyway, this was a decent match with a very nice finish.
– Scott Steiner d. Petey Williams, Steiner Screwdriver — pin (11:17, **1/2). This was far better than the match on Impact because Petey actually mounts some offense and doesn’t remain a punching bag. Post-match, Samoa Joe appears on the TNATron to cut a promo on Scott.
– Meanwhile, Mick Foley and Sting put each other over.
– Brutus Magnus d. Chris Sabin, Tormentum — pin (6:38, **1/2). The Tormentum is a Samoan Drop, incase you wanted to know, although it looks like he tries to spin and drive them into the mat but fails because he doesn’t look like he turns at all. What makes it worse is that West and Tenay try to sell this move like it’s the new Canadian Destroyer. If he can’t get Sabin or Sharky up in that move, I don’t see how it’s gonna work on someone like Abyss or Morgan.
– Knockouts champion Awesome Kong d. ODB, Implant Buster — pin (5:39, **1/2). How many times does Awesome Kong have to beat ODB for the womens belt?
– Legends champion Booker T d. Shane Sewell, Axe Kick — pin (6:01, *). Overall this was nothing more than your standard filler match involving some guy who can’t possibly win against Booker. Post-match, AJ Styles comes out to cut a promo on Booker.
– Abyss d. Matt Morgan, Black Hole Slam — pin (15:37, *1/2). Match was nothing special, probably because Morgan was working injured. Post-match, Abyss tries to BHS onto the tacks, but Morgan escapes again.
– TNA tag team champions Beer Money d. Lethal Consequences, Storm loaded fist — pin Lethal (15:41, ***1/2). Both teams brought their A-game and the selling was good, which would make this match of the night.
– TNA World champion Sting d. Kurt Angle, Brother Ray & Brother Devon, Scorpion Deathdrop — pin Ray (14:34, **1/2). Oh well, it beats when the title was on the line in a 6-man tag a few months ago. This match was better than expected, but not great either. Post-match, Foley and Sting exchange more pleasantries, while Angle is less than pleased. That may have been the most anticlimactic ending to a PPV main event that I’ve ever seen in my life.
– Final Thoughts: A good enough show, with a lot of decent matches and the bad was kept short, though the whole PPV was pointless as literally NOTHING happened.
